T. L.Thankyou Father and brother redemporists and Georiod for making our stay such a special experience. From the moment we entered this remote area,for us anyway, you made us feel very special and welcome and so much at home. We thoroughly enjoyed entering community life to the extent we could and in being in such a great location to reflect on our lives from afar,as one could say Australia is. It is strange that we stuck up such an affinity with the Irish .I guess which goes back generations of our own heritage.
We admire tremenously the work,retreats and programmes you offer at Esker and the people you minister to. They are very lucky. Thankyou for talking to us like old friends as it were,albeit for a short period. Georiod, you are a marvel,great sense of humour, and perfect for your position. We are now in the USA ,a long way from Esker,for a bit of a rest before embarking on a big leg of travel,not looking forward to really.Thankyou for providing inspiration for our faith and hope we can continue the life we want to lead and face the challenges which will no doubt lay ahead on our return with confidence.We hope next year to be able to return to Esker,if available,get over planes etc,as Ireland holds a very dear place to us. Patricks mum loved her Irish heritage and we were somewhat sad that we will not be able to share with her our time in Ireland ,having died a couple of months earlier.We read about Fr Flan's funeral,no doubt a big loss to your community but as you said his time had come. 50 years in the Philippines,what a legacy!. Take care of yourselves in the coming year and hope your plans come to fruition in whatever shape you wish them to be. Looks like a busy programme.God Bless from Down Under Teresa and Patrick L.
