Reviews of Lawlors Hotel Dungarvan
Good location. Staff polite and professional.
Rooms tired and not as clean as you would expect.
Hotel fine. Food nice. Conveniently situated. Nice staff. It is however let down by the following (in my opinion). Food good, coffee dire. No extra milk given for cereal. Very mean with toilet rolls. Lucky I brought my own. Access to parking is through a laneway with skips. Not good trudging through it with your luggage. Needs a rethink.
Fabulous Sunday carvery lunch food and service was excellent
Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Ideal for cycling and convenient to the Greenway - even has storage indoors for bicycles!
Lovely hotel staff very nice. Great value Lovely breakfast. Safe carpark at rear. Lovely room with recently revamped bathroom.
Had some fantastic food here last week. Top class. Great service
I thought our 2 night stay at Lawlors was lovely. The staff were warm, welcoming and efficient, can't commend them enough. I also like how the hotel it self is protecting their staff by enforcing mask wearing which isn't the case in every hotel. The food was absolutely delicious breakfast and dinner!! Great choices on both menus. Location was right on the town square by the water within walking distance of everything! Well done Lawlors, we can't wait to come back!!
We had the most beautiful meal, it was a very good price and the service was really excellent
Good food and drink. Pleasant staff. Rooms have had a makeover in covid lockdown
Great place very friendly staff. I ate in the restaurant and to say the food was magnificent would be an understatement. Excellent staff and food for both dinner last night and breakfast today. Will definitely be back to stay again
Fabulous weekend stay, rooms are spotless and very comfy, hotel has a lovely homely feel, staff are very welcoming and friendly, could not do enough for you, we have stayed here before every year and couldn't recommend it enough. If your looking to get away for a little break then look no further than Lawlors Hotel.
Billy and Antoinette McClean.
Always a nice place to visit. Food excellent
Everything is good about this lovely Hotel, food staff and lovely atmosphere, love staying here.
Super food, staff and location right in town centre.
Hotel is in a great location and it has huge potential but.....
Not particularly family friendly..
breakfast served to children on hot plates, breakfast generally very tasteless, nutella and little extras like this make a big difference to little people!!
The beds are very comfortable and the very clean so I hope this hotel upgrades and takes this review onboard
Very nice but a long wait for toasted sanw.
Friendly staff, great food and comfortable rooms. Great value for money.
Had lovely meal there last night.went for 3 course.had chowder....chicken supreme....apple crumble.. 24 euro.very. tasty3/4 different veg.apple crumble tartlet style..wee bit small.but overall excellent.M.had duck spring roll...angus beef..pavlova...excellent...just 2 of us at start....6 o clock ...in these covid times...filled up later...will call again!!
This is a nice hotel with a great bar and live music in the evening. I really enjoyed listening to some traditional Irish music throughout the evening. The bar at the hotel itself is great but the hotel is a bit older but given its age that is understandable. The staff were fantastic
Beef too rare. Also dinner was cold.
Great place to stay, food is lovely and staff are excellent.
Very nice lunch here. And plenty of parking.
Flabby apart from no residence bar...might have been lazy bar porter ..but fabby
My partner and I just arrived from Australia and weren’t prepared for the Irish weather. Michael and the staff at Lawlors we’re incredibly hospitable and kind. A great experience, I can only hope the rest of our travels around Ireland are similar!!
There wasn't a lot of gluten free choices either on the main meal or dessert. My husband had fish but the chips with it were frozen skinny chips. Didn't do the beautiful fish justice. His fish chowder was amazing though.
I enjoyed my experience at this hotel. The staff were friendly and the rooms are charming. Also, the atmosphere in the bar area is great and the food served in the restaurant was good too. I recommend it to anyone visiting the Dungarvan area.
If I had to make a recommendation for the hotel, it would just be for them to install bug screens on all of the windows in the rooms. During the summer, the rooms can get somewhat warm and stuffy, and without AC installed, the only refuge one has is to open the windows to let in a little cool fresh air. But after doing so, you'll find that several bugs make their way into the room! So I think it would be good to install bug screens as soon as possible to prevent this from happening.
Food fablous but found waiter with glasses
Not very helpful.
My husband and i called on way home from Whitfield Clinic who was on crutches after leg surgery.we were looking for a high seat for comfort but he was tryi g to direct us way around the bar corner, anyway a nice female waitress saw our difficulty and made room. At countet for us for which we were greatful.
The nice food made up for all that and would not stop is calling in the future
Thank you
Ann & Denis
really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, excellent food, friendly staff. Only complaint hotel looks a bit tired. Needs repainting and the carpets replacing. Otherwise fine.
Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was comfortable and food was great!
Superb hotel, very friendly & helpful staff, fantastic food and very reasonable. Only critism is could do with a lick of paint in places.
Left my jacket behind. Receptionist was very nice and posted my jacket back to me
Nice cosy hotel the rooms are comfortable and the staff are very friendly they have live music in the bar most nights and they do a really good breakfast
It’s a very beautiful hotel, it seems to have been built in the early ages, the furniture and stairs all have that classic appearance. The best place for those who are seeking to escape the noise of the city
Good hotel, very good price but room was waaaay to hot and shower didn't drain till well after I had a shower
Friendly staff. Wonderful food. Great service. Will definitely be coming back.
The room was a dissapointment, arrived had great service from reception.

The room had huge cracks in the ceiling.
Great restaurant and staff great to help 👍
Had a lovely meal here in the Restaurant. Good food, reasonably priced. Nice service.
The whole place could do with a good cleaning, bar food is only ok, you can find way better food and cleaner places to eat in Dungarvan
Good hotel rooms need updating, very clean had a lovely meal in the restaurant staff friendly and helpful
Food was lovely but decor is outdated and needs plenty of paint to freshen up. Replacing room doors but our room old doors with lack of paint
Rather dated and in need of refurbishment but in a great location with friendly staff. Breakfast was average enough.
Nice hotel. Nice layout of shower. Good price
Hotel very clean and pleasant staff. The bar food could be better.
Had a beautiful dinner at the bar area, the service was friendly and fast 👌

We were here from September 1st - 8th, 2018 and were VERY satisfied! A large, old hotel but well run! Food and service were wonderful! Live music with good Irish folk music in the bar several times a week! The rooms were completely okay. We would have liked a wardrobe... But all in all, the price-performance ratio is excellent!
Very kind and correct.
Really comfortable family room. There was a problem with our reservation when we arrived, but the receptionist was so helpful in sorting it quickly. The breakfast was great, buffet for continental or ordering for the hot food. It was served very quickly. We felt the room was excellent value.
Lovely hotel. Location was great, friendly staff,I will stay here again.
Very good hotel nothing to much trouble for the very friendly staff
Food and service is always great...and only a 2 minute walk from town centre ...great spot
Lalors hotel has made us feel like royalty as we sent a wonderful night .
Michael and his staff second to none and it was certainly a five star experience.
On a cold wet day, we sat in the reception by a roaring fire and plush sofas !
Cannot thank these people enough as I've not been well and it was a one night break for me and my husband.
Fabulous bedroom and food excellent !
Thank you all for making our cold wet day so nice and helping us to park near hotel and assisting with our luggage !!
Quirky 70's style hotel.Grand place to put the head down for the night if you are on a weekend away. Bar service deplorable but a lot of places struggling to get staff..but once you have them.. train them properly!
Right in the heart of dungarvan, staff were friendly and helpful
On a bitterly cold Wednesday in March we ventured into Lawlors for a bit of lunch. The crackling fire wasn't the only warm reception. We dined by the fireside and had quite honestly the best sandwiches we ever tasted. The service, welcome and attention to detail was 5 star- the only regret was we didn't get the gentleman's name who rearranged the chairs and took the order.
Thank you.
Lawlors Hotel was a pretty solid place everyone was so friendly especially the receptionist aoibhinn. She was really helpful and kind towards me and my kids really accommodated for my autistic child Johnathon. She had great chat and banter honestly deserves a raise 10/10 service from her.
Clean, tidy, pleasant staff, own car park.
Old Hotel, a bit dated but it is a lovely hotel, very central and good food
A grand little hotel for a weekend break in the lovely town of Dungarvan.
Spot on, no bother from anyone, manager was a small little fella, a bit nervous, he took one look at us, and said are ye going to cause any trouble 😄. Clean affordable hotel. Well worth staying here.
Super comfortable room and great service . Right in the centre of town
Stopped here for lunch . The food was lovely and portion sizes was abundant but the hotel itself looks very dated even neglected . It would benefit from a good refurbishment ,
The food was very good good staff very nice. But give the bar a lick off paint and get rid of the bent trays. Keep up the good work.
3 nights and enjoyed the location the most. Breakfast also good
A very nice comfortable and historic hotel
Food ok. Staff leave a lot to be desired.
Nice but expensive.
Lovely staff food was excellent
Only had a drink in the lobby which was nice and comfy.
Was here on business but didn't stay over will be here again soon fir over and will update
As part of a tour of Ireland, this hotel was included for one night with half board. ||||To make it short: You should only book this hotel if you have no alternative, i.e. if you don't book it yourself, but rather the organizer. ||||The thing as a whole is very run down. Once inside you completely lose your bearings because there are stairs, half stairs, various wings and angles. Fire doors keep blocking the way. The elevator is far too small for the many guests, especially when arriving and departing with suitcases.||||The (almost) 3 stars in my rating are justified on the one hand by the room, which was probably renovated, especially in the bathroom everything looked good quite new. Flat screen TV with international programs, but you hardly dared to turn it on because the rooms were extremely noisy. A kettle with a selection of tea/coffee was available.||||On the other hand, I was quite satisfied with the food. After reading some reviews here, I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe our organizer put a little pressure on me because the service was good, especially at breakfast they even offered me a small table away from the long tables that were already in use. There was some choice of food and a dessert buffet in the evening. Everything tasted good.
I would never visit this hotel again. No maintenance has been done for years. The carpeting is worn everywhere, the lighting is poor, the rooms are old and musty. An attempt at renovation has been made in the bathroom, but it is not finished, tiles are loose and have not been sealed. Bath screen falls into the bath while showering. We found the tea bags stuck to the wall. Cleaning also leaves much to be desired.|One thing was good: the food.
Stayed here for 1 night. Everything is very nice, clean and comfortable.||Located in the center, the embankment and restaurants are a stone's throw away. The only negative for us was that we lived in the city during the Easter holidays, so the fortress was closed. ||The staff is very friendly.||Breakfast is traditional and filling. Everything was great.
Correct room. The bathroom lacks a shelf to place toiletries. Small complaint: the corridors smell of cigarettes. Correct meal
