S.I was initially reluctant to buy a bike from Halfords due to concerns that this huge company wouldn't care about customers, and that extras would be pushed on me by staff and increase the price enormously. But I had nothing to fear. Staff at Cork branch (Lynsey and Wayne) were so helpful and knowledgeable, and did not push any extras on to me at all. I had done my research in advance so knew what bike I wanted and what my strict budget was. Having an idea of what I wanted before I went into the store actually helped Lynsey to help me. To my dismay, the bike I wanted was no longer available in my size, so Lynsey helped me select an alternative similar bike (no price difference). She was so honest and helpful, and had a very pleasant and professional manner. She readily checked the stock room more than once to absolutely ascertain that the bike I wanted was definitely no longer available and that the alternative definitely was available. Wayne was really helpful regarding tyres and mud guards, and checked the bike was safe before I left the store. What a wonderful positive experience.

C.I had ordered an item for pickup online in my local Halford store, I received an email saying the order was ready to collect so I went into store and asked at the counter, one of the staff spent 10-15 minutes looking for the product to tell me it wasn't there. He was very apologetic but I left empty handed, he suggested i order it again which is what i did so I received another notification that it was ready to collect so I rang ahead this time, the order had not come in which left me quite frustrated, a couple of days later one of the staff rang me saying that the order had been found and was put away behind the counter for me to pick up whenever suited. The experience on the phone was very pleasant and staff were very helpful when I went down to finally pick it up but there is clearly an issue in their click and collect system as the first member of staff I spoke to mentioned this wasn't the first time something like this occurred.

Good value and well stocked and sales are genuine money saving opportunities. Tools are decent quality and sets are comprehensive and often come with a great guarantee, eg lifetime. I've bought batteries, bikes, tools, oils, waxes and camping gear and find the online reserve and collect service excellent as it allows 7 days to collect. Friends have been delighted with their fitting service for wipers and batteries. Shopping here since it opened -says it all.

T. F.I went to buy a bike for my son for Christmas and the guy that was dealing with me was so nice and excellent at his job. His name was Ricky from his name badge. Usually I don't write reviews but I felt in this case it was needed. The guy went above and beyond for me and explained everything clearly to me. I was nervous enough picking and ordering the bike but after dealing with Ricky i knew I'd made the right choice.
The only reason I didn't give the review 5 stars is because I was surprised to see another member of staff who was quite loud dealing with other customers out on the floor with no face covering on. I'm just glad I was dealing with Ricky who was very professional.

Halfords really have to do something about there international switchboard. Made booking for bike repair through that and when I arrived at store no idea of booking.
Halfords stores just will not answer the phone.. tried 20 times over a 3 day period.
This is something you have to work with and it’s not fair to the workforce on the ground in store as there customers are coming in frustrated when it’s not there issue.

J. M.I needed a new wiper blade and went to Halfords where I had the good fortune to encounter Jake, to say the service I received was good would be a gross understatement. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful but for me Jake was outstanding. I think it's when something goes wrong is when good staff shine.
I had to return the wiper blade as there was a clip missing from the pack but Jake and another young man had me sorted and on my way, new blade fitted and working within 10 mins.

S. S.The service was good, I got a great discount too. My collection slot was 11:00 for a hike collection ,however even though the order was over 3 weeks old, the bike was not ready for collection and I have waited 1 more hour. When I got the bike home, I realised that the majority of bolts were loose, the disks of the brakes were rubbing into the brake caliper and the accessories were poorly attached. The bike is decent now after 1 hour of fixing all the errors made by them.

We only use the best of cleaners, lubricants. BIKEHUT, MUCOFF, MCGUIRES, HARDSHELL TURTLE WAX etc and then camping equipment all excellent quality and at a very affordable price. There are always discounts on some product so it is well worth visting the Halfords Store in Mahon Cork. I am an IT Professional, shopping online is not for me, nothing compares to seeing the product, speaking with staff, advice knowing I have made the right purchase.

S.I had to ring up halfords in mahon as the click and collect option wasn't working online for me to reserve a motorbike helmet that was advertised on their site that was on sale from 135e down to 65e and I really liked the colour and I got through to a really helpful lovely guy called kelvin who went over and beyond to look for the helmet on their website but it said out of stock but he said they could order it in but it'll take a week and I was so disappointed as I needed it for the next day so he asked me if I could hold on 2mins he will check the stock room and he came back to me very fast and found exactly the helmet I wanted and the right size, I was so happy and he said he will hold it for me and gave me he's name till I could call in for it later that day which he did and the girl that served me I didn't get her name but was so lovely and welcoming too and very efficient and very friendly and so helpful too 😊👌

You can save a lot of money by DIY'ing. I know very little about cars but I've done quite a few successful DIY jobs on my car because of Halfords. Staff are helpful when you can find one. They offer a fitting service for most item for which they charge a nominal fee. There is an excellent bike shop upstairs too. Free parking outside.

S. M.Expensive and understaffed. Halfords is one of those stores that's useful if you need the item today, but otherwise, you'll be better off buying online. The Cork store tends to be missing a lot of stock, but it's useful for car-specific things like wipers, batteries etc.

I recently cycled Mizen to Malin and before I left I gave my bike to Halfords for a service. It came out running like new. However in Roscommon it fell over in wind and the rear derailleur was damaged (hanger bent) It left me without my two lowest gears (it made the climbs in Donegal intetesting!). On my return I brought it back to Halfords. The mechanic fixed it on the spot. 10 minutes. WITH NO CHARGE. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. But their mechanic is a saint!!
