Called evening before to enquire about booking for morning. Muriel could not have been more helpful, even going so far as to suggest direction we should take based on the wind forecast for the next day. Weather was good, so called in morning to confirm. Staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. All outdoors in their yard for Covid safety. We opted for e-bike option and paid the €10 extra for the shuttle bus to Achill to be able to do the 32km cycle and return the bikes to Newport before driving back to our hotel in Westport. The Newport to Westport section does not look as good as it's right along the main road for most of it, so opted only for Achill-Newport, with a pit stop in Mulranny for snacks/walk on the pier. Really recommend these guys if you're considering doing the Greenway

These guys were really good, friendly and helpful. One disappointing thing was that we arrived to Achill and discovered they had not brought my sister's bike :-( Thankfully they had a spare but we had to wait ages to find this out and after all the rest of the party were ready for ages and wanted to depart. It held us up and wasn't the end of the world but I'd recommend some sort of checking system before departure that all the bikes were on board.

Super friendly and helpful service. Picked up the phone where other providers weren't bothered. Wasn't sure about kids bike sizes when booking, not a problem. Had to change time of pick up from achill from 2:30 to 5:30 (as we were taking our time going from Newport to Achill and a bit slower than expected), again not a problem... Bus back was perfect, great day, great service.

Noel and the staff at Greenway Bicycle Hire Newport are such nice people and very helpful. They were able to advise us (novices) on the best route to travel. We had such a wonderful experience and will definitely use them again on our next visit to Newport

These Mayo folk are just the best. We arrived today and hired two bikes. Unfortunately it PISSSED rain and ye had to turn back and use that Mayo wind to bring us home. We were offered the bikes free again another day as a result. Such a kind gesture considering the struggles Irish tourism has faced. Thanks so much. See you again sometime soon!

A great enterprise. They are extremely friendly and helpful. They help you to make sure you are ready for the day. They are flexible with drop off of bikes at different locations. The bikes are well maintained and I didn’t miss my own bike too much. The Great Western Greenway was a fantastic outing and enjoyable for the entire family.

Excellent service, Muriel and the whole team were a pleasure to deal with. We brought a group of 60 TY students on the greenway from Newport to Achill. On arrival all bikes and helmets were sanitised. The team took great care to adjust saddle height for each student. Rob arrived within 15minutes with a spare bike when we had puncture. Super service and very reasonably priced.

Greenway Bicycle Hire provides excellent customer service and top of the range bicycles. The proprietors Muriel and Noel took time with us to get us properly set up for our trip, with regards to the bikes and their special features. This attention to detail was great service. We (2 adults and 3 young adults/ teenagers) hired 5 top quality bicycles, 2 Cube electrics and 3 Cube mountain bikes, which worked perfectly for the 67km trip we made from Newport to Achill and back. The scenery was splendid and the experience exhilarating. I would highly recommend Greenway Bicycle Hire, Newport, for their excellence.

Really enjoyed this experience despite cool wet weather. We hired the Cube E-Mountain bikes which were brilliant! The service in the shop was great. The views on the Greenway spectacular. The E Bikes make cycling the trail so much easier when there is bad weather.

Great service from these guys, friendly and professional. They take the time to go over the route options with you whether you want to start from Achill or Newport. We were booked to do the cycle on a Wednesday which had been promised very bad weather and after Ed rang to advise changing it to the Thursday instead. Bikes are well looked after by the shop, thanks a million.

Everything was as per booking. Staff were helpful and efficient. We had the option of having the bikes collected en route as the brother was under time constraint but as it happens we didn't need it. I had my own bikes but needed an extra helmet - not a problem. Most importantly, the bikes were working perfectly. We got good quality mountain bikes with disc brakes.

Great quality bikes for all ages. We went for a trip from Newport to Mullranny and back. My daughter is 11 and she really enjoyed it. The guys in the shop are very friendly and helpful. We were running late, so we rang them and there was no problem at all. They said they can wait for us up to 30 minutes after the shop is closed. We didn't need the shuttle, so it was cheaper. This was the best day on our holiday. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience with this company. We'd originally booked for a Tuesday but when that arrived, they suggested we reschedule (at no cost) to Thursday as the rain was bucketing down, even though they'd already travelled out to meet us that morning. We cycled from Achill to Mullranny and back again and the supplied bikes were well suited for the job and in great working condition. Would use this crowd again!

Great service, good bike and a nice route to pedal from Achill Island back to Newport. I rented the bike in mid October and it was great. I enjoyed the shuttle ride out to Achill and rode back along the bike path stopping for lunch. The e-bike was fun. Definitely recommend.
