I went on a cycle tour with my friend to explore everything around westport and these bikes were amazing!!! They were very comfortable and we had no problems at all:) also the owners were so kind as they asked if we had any wishes for the bikes and also showed us what ‘must sees‘ we’d had to visit. I can only recommend the store to everyone who wants to see the beautiful landscape around westport!

We wanted to do the Greenway with my 75 year old parents and two teenagers. Paul was incredibly patient in helping us select the appropriate bikes. We hired 3 fantastic e-bikes, top of the range and very light. The kids had two mountain bikes. The shuttle service was very good and we found our way back very easily. Stopping at Nevins for lunch. What a wonderful day getting dropped off in Achill, taking in the fab scenery while riding a really comfortable bike. The bikes are the biz I tell you. If you're not an avid cyclist and want to get bit of exercise but not take too much of a toll on your under used legs, as in my case, the bike made it virtually effortless and painless. So enjoyable. A must do and I'll be back doing it again before the summer is out. Thank you.

So we rented a pair from Paul, he was great told us how to use them and then invited us to take the spin to Achill with them. I had the pleasure in May 2021of cycling The Great Western Greenway from Westport to Mullaney and back on an electric bike from Paddy and Nelly Bike Hire. The experience was exhilarating and a pleasure from the get go. Paul gave us a lesson and showed us the gears and how to use the e power. We felt confident setting out, that we would be able to handle the ebike as it was our first time. We decided to take a picnic and go at our own leisurely pace. With lovely mild weather and stunning scenery we moved along the track effortlessly, stopping here and there for short breaks. The bikes are of a very high spec, with German Engineering, we were not disappointed. On our arrival at Mullaney we parked up and had our picnic, stretched out and had a little rest, the views are stunning, and the tranquility was truly energizing. On the return journey, we seemed to come back quicker than expected, I was pleasantly surprised to note that I was not panting and puffing, the help of the e-battery was amazing, I am not as fit as I was one time. As I am now in my early 60’s I would most definitely recommend hiring and e-bike from Paddy and Nelly Bike Hire Westport, it is a most suitable and enjoyable day out for the over 50’s or indeed any age group. They also cater for families, and have child carriers for the younger children. It was a healthy, outdoor activity that I will certainly repeat in the not too distant future. Well done Paddy and Nelly Bike Hire, I give you top marks - 5 Stars.....

We hired a standard bike and an e-bike for a day, cycling out to Newport, taking a longer more scenic route back. The bikes treated us well - were comfy, easy to handle and no punctures or flat battery. The greenway is brilliant - wish there were more around the country! We chanced turning up without a booking, and Paul sorted us immediately, making sure we were happy with the bikes, and explaining routes before we headed off. Thanks Paul!

Got the chance to try out paddy and nelly bike hire. Found the bikes so comfortable and easy to use, great to use for days out like doing the greenway. Also got the chance to try out the E-bikes, and least to say I thought it was wonderful. So easy to use. Great if you wanted to go on long cycling journeys. Paul had such high class customer service and so easy to chat too. Would highly recommend to try out paul and nelly bike hire.

We were advised by our hotel about the Achill Shuttle Bus, and received a discount voucher for bike hire. We got the bus there (thank you to the amazing John!) and had a fantastic day. Everyone was very safe and I could see how seriously they took Covid-19 with social distancing and cleaning of our equipment. We also took an extra day to cycle around Westport with their ebikes and we got amazing value for money. Thanks for making our trip extra special.

Great experience last weekend using Paddy and Nelly bike hire. There was 8 of us in total renting bikes and we were all very happy with the experience. Great quality bikes and definitely the most comfortable we have tried! Paul was very helpful and also offered a pick up service at the end of our cycle as the weather did not go our way for a cycle back!. Plenty to see by bike on some of the most gorgeous bike trails I’ve ever seen (even within a 5K radius). Rental came with bike, pack, emergency tire equipment, visibility vest, helmet - everything you’d need. Great rental experience and a really fun time.

My and my friend booked two (Dutch) bikes online with Paddy and Nelly. The booking process was easy and quick. When we arrived in Westport to pick up the bikes, everything went easy and fast. The bikes were comfortable and solid. Paul explained the cycling route to us and gave us some nice tips as well. We didn't have to be back at a certain time, just before 9pm which is perfect if you don't want to keep an eye on the clock all the time. All together it was a very friendly service with very nice and comfortable bikes. We would definitely recommend Paddys and Nellys Bike Hire!

Hi just returned from 4 days in the Wyatt Hotel Westport booked 4 bikes in advance with Paddy & Nelly Bike Hire just behind the Wyatt Hotel. Met Paul the evening before very helpful we got 4 bikes 3 men’s bike and best of all Paddy & Nelly Bike Hire had a small touring bike which was exactly what I was looking for. We hired bikes in advance for 2 days bikes were perfect, I could just cruise along on my bike note it was not electric! We hired 6 bikes to do a bit of sightseeing on a Saturday in September, we chose Paddy and Nelly as we were staying very close, and wow! what a great choice it turned out to be. Firstly Paul the owner really made everything so easy for us from choosing the excellent bikes to the route we’d take , secondly the actual bikes were so good to cycle, comfortable seats, great gear mechanism, smooth handling and they also looked cool as well. Paul couldn’t do enough for us and we took his advice to take a little diversion on the Greenway route and visit a really traditional Irish pub in the middle of nowhere. The whole experience felt really unique and tailored to our needs( 6 brothers!) , no pressure, no stress, just a great afternoon of discovering some amazing scenery in and around Westport. My friend and I rent two e-bikes two weeks ago, we did the Western Greenway from Achill to Westport. It was an amazing experience even if we got lots of heavy shower during the journey. But this is Ireland 😍 and without those comfy and powerful bikes we couldn't do that. We came from Germany to go on a holiday in Ireland. We wanted to cycle the Greenway from Westport to Achill. What can I say: It was a dream! The bikes Paddy gave us were the best ones we've ever driven, in a quality you would never expect for such a low price. The 86km went so smooth we didn't even notice, we've overshot or planned destination. Paddy is super helpful not only providing you with top quality bikes from renowned brands like Kalkhoff, but also includes various kinds and styles of helmets, a tire repair kit, storage bags and a lock with the bike. On top of that he gives you useful information about the area, the cycling ways, other interesting attractions and what else there is to do in and around Westport. This is a one of a kind bicycle hire run by authentic people and we would rent or bicycles here again anytime.

Having recently travelled to Westport for a mid week break, we decided to do a little touring of the surrounding countryside, keeping our fingers crossed that the good weather would hold up. I stumbled upon this place and am so glad I did! The owner was very helpful in getting the right bike and fit for me, and the seat was super comfortable- I road for over 20 miles and wasn’t sore at all! They also provided a waterproof bag for my belongings, along with the usual safety gear (helmet, etc). Their location is also convenient as you don’t have to ride through the traffic of Westport to get onto the Greenway. Highly recommend!
