First car in my life, and I decided to buy a car from an agent, rather than from a private because of the warranty. As a secondhand, 10 years old car, it had many problems for sure, like squeaks, battery etc. But thankful I met a good owner, Eoin. He helped me changed bearing, fuses and battery. He performs his duty properly. He just changed a new battery for me yesterday, and I tended to pay for that as I know for the battery replacement, it should not be not included in the warranty, but Eoin refused. He didn’t not charge me for that. He is really a good and kind owner with integrity to run business. It seems I connected with a right car agent, and I decide to buy cars from him in the future. And by the way, don’t be nervous when you can’t get in touch with Eoin, he is just very busy. The worst case is you can always find him in the office(haha😆). Also never mind what mechanics said. My car was making noise after 2 weeks I bought it, then the mechanics did a test drive with me, he said” I would not fix it if this is my car, it’s not a big problem.” He said this not only once during the test driving. I finally said “This is my car, the first car in my life, I want it silent!” Then, mechanics did not say anything. My car is finally fixed, Eoin changed a bearing for me. So mechanics just stand on their own views, they think it’s not worth to hang a car up only for checking the noise. However, no worries and don’t care about what they said, they will finally help you on this. Overall, it is a good experience buying a car from Murphy Doyle. Eoin is very good man, secondhand cars always have problems, be patient.

Bought 2 cars (Mercedes) from Eoin in Murphy Doyle in July 16. They gave me 3 month warranty. They cars were 9yrs old so i knew there would be issues (SRS alerts, brake fluid leaks, top ball joint replacements, seat replacement etc). I returned a number of times over the 3 months until all issues were fixed. I was given a courtesy car ( as i have a young family and need 2 cars on the go at all times) each time I dropped my own off to be fixed. Straight up guys, never a problem when contacted re getting card booked in to fix issue, but it does take a few attempts to diagnose real problem sometimes and then getting new parts ordered, so be prepared for trail and error until its actually sorted. Overall happy with purchases and will return again when i need to upgrade. David

My wife bought a 08 Audi A4 from Murphy-Doyle. Car was spotless. We were dealing with Noel. We took the car for a test drive, wife loved it and everything seemed fine. Nice and solid no noises all good. As its an Audi we were pretty sure it would be OK. Done the deal and picked the car up the next day after the lads cleaned it. We had the car a week and it would not start in the garden. Obviously panic sets in as we just spent a lot of money on the car and now its dead in my garden. Read the warranty - electrical or most mechanical issues are covered under it! A tow truck was organised and it was sent back to the garage for the guys to fix it. They had it for a few days. It was starting to look like an electric issue so car was sent to an Auto elec. Turned out a relay had blown which tells the car the break is pushed so it will start. That was replaced and we got the car back. Running grand for a week and it broke down again. Car was sent back to the garage again and in turn sent to the auto elec again. Not to beat around the bush, this pissed us right off. If I wanted a heap of Sh!te id buy a renault at least then id expect electrical issues. To be fair to Noel, he had sent it to the auto elec the first time and was assured it was fixed. Another tow truck and it was sent to the auto elec again. They replaced a module under the steering wheel (possible immobilizer or something that recognises the key). They kept the car for a week to make sure it was actually fixed this time. As generally is the case with intermittent problems like this, especially electrical they are very hard to fix. The car isnt broke down and is driving great 99% of the time until it doesnt start. I have a feeling the car was traded in with the last owners knowing the car had issues. Obviously Murphy-Doyle took it in while it was driving. We test drove and it was driving with no issues so we (or the garage) werent to know there were issues. Im leaving a 100% honest review here to be fair to all looking to buy a car from Murphy-Doyle. As mentioned above none of the issues with the car were covered under warranty. Yes we bought a car that broke down on us twice, both times we were given a car from the garage to keep my wife going. At all times the lads were contactable and gave us an update. My dad was a mechanic and I worked in his garage when i was younger. Ive seen how people can be caught out. We bought a second hand car. Granted an Audi but it was second hand that had issues that the garage didnt catch and neither did we when we test drove it. The car since the last repair is running great. Wife loves it. The lads stood over it and from the start insisted they would fix whatever issues they found on it. They covered the bill to repair it 100% regardless of the warranty not covering it. That's all you can ask for really. Either that or go buy a brand new one from Audi. Spending that kind of cash on a car is always scary especially when you see horror stories (which you only seem to find after you buy the car). Always nice to build up some sort of relationship/trust with a garage especially when im looking to trade my 5 series Msport in for the newer shape :) Id be happy to talk to the lads again about upgrading my car. Thanks again for sorting it Noel/Eoin. Very much appreciated.
