Stayed here for 2 nights with family after Christmas. Overall the stay was fantastic. A few disappointing aspects. Had dinner one night in the bar and the service was quiet poor. Had to call a waiter to take our order after 20 minutes even though there was 3 staff standing around idle. Some dishes were cold and took an age to come out even though it want that busy. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful and the kids play area was great and not overly crowded. The travel cot we requested prior to check in for our 10 month old had no mattress in it and we could"nt get one on request so had to make one out of pillows. The floor in the room itself was not very clean which is not ideal with 2 young kids in it. Breakfast was very good and lots of choices for all types of eaters. These are not big issues by any means and I don"t like being negative with reviews given how hard it is for businesses at present to operate, but just a heads up for future stays. We would stay again for sure and recommend a stay, especially for families as it set up well for them. Just a few small improvements would help.

The staff were absolutely amazing, from the front desk to the bar staff. They couldn't do enough for us with a young family, the facilities are a kids dream from an adventure world to crazy golf, tennis and swimmg pool. We ended up staying an extra night because the kids didn't want to go home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all involved. We'll be back for sure.

We stayed for a weekend in Jan 22. The facilities were excellent including the pool and soft play areas which were great for our 2 year old. The Grounds of the hotel were a bit bleak however the grounds of dromoland castle were accessible through the car park which were lovely for walks. We are planning to return this summer

I have give this place 10 out of 10. We spent Christmas here. The 1st ever away from home. It was also there 1st time to be open for Christmas in several years. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left they couldn't do enough for us. I was apprehensive as our Vius numbers had been rising dramatically prior to going but I needn't have worried. They had everything under control. On arrival they explained that only the residents booked in for Christmas would be all that was going to be around the hotel. This gave everyone great assurance as we all had to produce our vaccine certificates on arrival. They had made every effort to make our stay enjoyable from festive name cards on our doors to festive gifts & baby bottle of baileys in our rooms. I can't compliment the hotel enough on their food. It was truly beautiful & extremely varied as was our dining rooms each evening. For the 1st time in my life, none of my family had the traditional Christmas Dinner & it was so worth it. They even had a harpist playing in the background during our Christmas Dinner. In the evenings after our dinners they supplied live music in the lobby lounge area which gave people a chance to get to know one another or just sit & relax in their own company. I would seriously recommend the Inn for any type of get away but definitely would recommend it for Christmas. I know we will be returning . You never know, we might just bump into each other.

Excellent stay at the Inn at Dromland once again.
Rooms are great with newly refurbished bathrooms. Lots or choice at breakfast and the food at Shenanigans is amazing.
I would like to thank all the bar staff who made us feel so welcome and were very helpful and friendly.
I would like to say a special thank you to David and Gavin who made me feel very welcome and were great lads.

Excellent position! Access from all routes! We have stayed in a lot of hotels but in all honesty can't find fault with this hotel. The room was nice and clean, beds and pillows extremely comfortable. We stayed 2 nights had dinner on both nights in the bar. Food nicely served and hot (apple and Berry crumble is divine) Staff are exceptional in all areas and nothing is too much! Will definitely return to stay here! Thanks for everything!

Great hotel for families. We all really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return again. Superb facilities for kids and a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. The food in the Shannanigans bar was delicious and breakfast was fab, great variety and we were very well attended to considering there were 7 of us! There were lovely walking routes and parks nearby also. Highly recommended. Thank you

Lovely hotel, delicious food, wonderful staff especially Gavin in the bar who made us feel very welcome. The 3 day staycation was great value, the kids especially loved the pizza package, will definitely be back as nothing was to much trouble for the staff.

Even though I was only there for one night,I had enough time to appreciate the wonderful scenery. There were beautiful walks between the Inn and the castle. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. There was a courtesy mini bus between the Inn and the castle. Be back again soon.

We just stayed here (June 2021) and it was absolutely fantastic. There was my wife and I plus our 4 boys (ages 6-14) and they loved every minute of it. The staff are very accommodating, polite and friendly. The food was much better than I expected and the value for the room as well as the drinks in the bar was fantastic. So much to do within the hotel with the pool, sauna/steam, Play inn for the little kids, crazy golf, pitch & putt, football golf, tennis etc. The inn is owned and connected by Dromoland castle and you can easily walk around the grounds of the castle. We will definitely be back. We stayed here with family and friends and they equally loved it. Highly recommend:)

Nice friendly staff, hotel in need of a bit of a revamp. Wheelchair accessible room had a good bathroom with a roll in shower but the room was unfortunately at the furthest point away from reception on the second floor. All floors carpeted, not good for wheelchairs and Incase of fire and unable to use the lift, only escape route would be down a flight of stairs which is not much use if you are paralysed and can't use your legs. Also as is typical with wheelchair accessible rooms the view from the room was of a rather grubby car park and disused buildings.

Came here for our wedding menu tasting this evening, absolutely amazing service from the moment we walked in the door for pre drinks right until the moment we left. 100% recommend for any of your needs. Incredibly friendly staff

Hotel might be 3 star but the service is 5 star....
Had a weekend break with my kiddies, partner and my parents. Celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversary. From checking in it was excellent. They had little goodies left in our room for my 6 year old as it was her bday and two complimentary drinks for my parents for their anniversary.
Rooms were spotless and a fantastic view as we were on the front of the hotel.
Food was gorgeous, everything was so fresh and tasty
For me, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. Honestly cannot do enough for you. The welcome you get is amazing, from the managers Nico and Peter to every single other members of staff. Rachel in Shannigans is just a dote, fantastic at her job. The lads on the bar are brilliant such great craic. Ladies on reception are helpful and attentive.
We had an evening meal in the resteraunt and Izat(hope I have his name right) went out of his way to make us feel so welcome and brought out beautiful personalized deserts for my daughter an parents. He remembers nearly every guests name.
Iv stayed in a lot of hotels, including 5 star and the staff are the biggest asset to this place. Cannot wait to book a break again soon.
Thank you all so much for our lovely staycation we had a ball

Pool and indoor play area was ideal for the kids, the food in the bar was lovely and the customer service was excellent. Overall quite happy with our stay.

What can I say? Had a visit for five day with four nights stay and we will be back soon from Dublin as this place is so relaxing, to amazing food and all made on site or locally,
The knowledge of the staff to what's going on around the area and Co.Clare,
The layout of the grounds to garden part of Dromoland Castle one few minutes walk away, just love it so much so will go out of my way when in Co.Clare to go there for all my relaxing breaks etc.
Keep up the great work and homely feel don't lose this
Love ❤️ Eddie & John

I've stayed in this hotel for 10yrs visiting at least 3 times a year . I have yet to find a hotel with the amazing staff that I've met down through the years .As a family we have great memories, and the weddings we saw while we were there were amazing 👏. Now I always booked a great bargain 😀buy I must say it did turn into a wedding destination the last few years so any bride & groom out there booking .The staff here will pull out all the stops for ye all I can say is Great memories & the day after they have an amazing intimate breakfast family room .🥰💯

Stayed 3 nights with a family of 5. Leaving tomorrow. Kids 7, 4 & 1.
Pros: restaurant and bar are lovely, good choice of food. The kids facilities are excellent ie the Play Inn, tennis courts etc. The staff are really fantastic I couldn't fault them with one exception I'll detail in the cons. We had one of the newly renovated bathrooms which was lovely. The room itself was adequate. The atmosphere in general in the hotel is very casual and comfortable which is great when you've small kids!
Cons: WiFi is AWFUL. We were left a cot for our baby that required scrubbing from me. How anyone thought it was acceptable for a baby is beyond me! The overall presentation of the common areas of the hotel are really bad. It's probably the worst carpet I've ever seen in any hotel for stains. They are filthy and need replacing badly. We had one incident in the bar on the first night where a roasting hot plate was placed in front the baby which she grabbed straight away and burned her hand. There was no apology offered which was disappointing so extra training for the younger staff might be beneficial in regard to this. He also landed all the cutlery in front of the baby. For a family oriented hotel it's these little things that make the difference in my opinion. The pool area is not very good either & not suitable for smaller children.
In summary, I believe that it's the facilities, restaurant and staff that make this hotel. Investment/renovation is badly needed and if it were done I would come back but not until then.

Absolutely amazing hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and I wished I had booked for longer. The facilities for families are brilliant and there is a lot to do to keep the kids entertained. Food was beautiful and the staff are probably the most nicest and welcoming staff I have ever come across. I will definitely be returning and will definitely be recommending to all my family and friends.

Stayed here several times due to the large family rooms. Very attentive and happy staff which makes for a good customer experience. Food is good and always a comfortable stay. Nice walks and play area. Good Covid system in place.

Lovely staff, excellent management. Food was good. Everything you could want for breakfast 😋. Room was nice and the rainfall shower was magic in the hot weather. Really enjoyed my stay.

Lovely hotel for families with small children. Soft play area, pool, play ground, crazy golf all on grounds of hotel.... Lovely walks. Great location right off motor way.

We loved this place, great service, good food, the kids were very happy with the play area and the swimming pool. Guinness, 5 ⭐ 😉

Hotel staff were very nice.Food was really nice.Hotel could do with a good clean, especially in gym and pool.Parts of hotel look very dated.Crazy golf outside could do with some new plaster work and painting.Price of drinks was cheeky,€5 for a can of Bulmers,Some bottles of wine crazy prices as well.No need for this really. Not a bad hotel but wont be staying there again.
P. M.
Excellant staff ,food, facilities and lots to occupy children…Lovely parkland walks and lovely scenery around ..All this made our stay v enjoyable..

Nice hotel. Staff are great. Lovely rooms.

Halloween break, was absolutely brilliant. So many activities for kids. Food fantastic

This place was fantastic! An impromptu flight delay left over 200 of us stranded in the area. The hotel staff masterfully coordinated rooms and food for us. Thank you for your hospitality and I'd love to come back one day to experience the area and tge rest of Ireland when there is more time.
m. r.
Lovely food. Great service and excellent friendly staff.
J. G.
This place is great, do you they are the only restaurant I know off that dropped their prices during COVID-19!! For takeaway. As they had no more staff the passed the saving onto you.
Therere you can now get a 5 STAR meal at local takeaway price. All I can say is get the meals now before the prices increase again. Superb gluten free options, lovely staff, you will not be disappointed and shocked at the price!

We stayed at the inn at dromoland in August 2020. We were a party 20 and all throughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish.
We booked as part of the 3 day statcation package - which was a fantastic package! My own family included myself my husband and our 3 daughters aged 10,2 and our newborn.
The hotel staff are excellent and go above and beyond for their guests to ensure everyone enjoys their stay at this hotel. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The hotels faciltiies are brillaint and will keep everyone entertained from the pool to the playcentre, the playground and tennis court. The food at the hotel was gorgeous and the menus had a good selection and catered for all.
We did book slots for breakfast and dinner and also for of the pool and playcentre.
We enjoyed our stay so much we have decided to make our staycation at the inn in dromoland an annual thing and we cant wait to return!

Spent 3 nights here this week. Great staff and lovely hotel. The grounds are lovely as well and the trip was great value. The food was unreal, so tasty and great variety on the menu. The playcentre is fantastic for kids and I would highly recommend this place for anyone with kids. Great atmosphere around the hotel also.
Probably got unlucky with my room but my shower flooded the bathroom completely the first time I used it, the television didn't work at all and the door handle came off every time I opened the door. Did report it to reception and in fairness the shower issue was fixed immediately, but the other issues remained throughout.
Thanks for a lovely stay!
P. C.
Felt safe there Covid certs & ID checked on entry as well as name & contact no. Very pleasant staff & lovely food.

This is a lovely hotel. We spent 3 nights and had a great time. The staff are very friendly and work really well to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast was fantastic and again the staff here were amazing.
The bar food was delicious and service was prompt. Over all we had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend.
C. B.
Staff were friendly and helpful, bar food was lovely but bit pricey and I think they should start the 90min time for when you receive your food as we waited some time and didn’t get to have deserts because time was up.
Breakfast was fine and plenty of choice.
Rooms were bit dated and needed more careful detail to cleanliness .
Rest of hotel decor is old fashioned and could do with up styling.
The kids play center was in need of a good clean and there cafe lacked cold drinks, so bring your own.
Also there was supposed to be a movie night every night but wasn’t run very well the laptop wasn’t always working well.
G. M.
Just one of those places you want time too stand still in,fabulous place, food was beautiful, served with a smile each time, and staff very friendly, great place for children to be children.

Great place for young families to go to. Great food, friendly staff and great amenties for children.

Wasn't overly impressed. Food was OK, presentation wasn't great and taste poor. Needs a little updating.
S. M.
We had a great stay and really enjoyed this hotel! The hotel is in a great location for exploring and the food in shannigans and at breakfast was very good. The hotel would be really excellent if the carpets and pool were upgraded as they are really letting the overall look down. Staff on reception and in bar were very friendly. I would definitely return and stay again

Very nice hotel, old style, nicely sized rooms, with a superb decoration on the walls of the hotel and inside the rooms.
Amazing Sun Lounge and SUPERB Breakfast. Super high quality.
Staff is incredibly nice, making a big effort to serve the customers being obliged to use a "face shield" only God knows their struggle... Hopefully the government will remove this absurd regulations or people will just start to not comply, if I was a waiter I would not accept to damage my eyes with these things.
Bad parts:
- No courtesy water or mention of any water... There was a tea set with a kettle, but no water to place in or glasses.
- No air conditioning on the room, only heating, and the regulator didn't worked resulting in a super warm room that made us sleep with the window open all night.
- very small set of toiletries offered, only 1 shampoo, shower gel and soup for 2 individuals. No razor and shaving cream.
- open style closet, leaving the clothing in display.
- room service upon request took more than 30m to deliver towels.
- gym and pool closes very early, at 18.30 last session, that you need to book.
If I would come back? Sure but only if they would guarantee me 2 bottles of 1L water in the room, and one small sparkling water.

This is a lovely relaxed hotel.. ideal for a family break.. great location with easy access to all Co. Clare has to offer. Clean and well decorated. The staff are extremely helpful particularly the manager Michael. Excellent adherence to social distancing procedures.

Hotel in need of a little revamp... Decor is very dated. Staff are friendly. Food is good. Kids loved it

Great base for touring. We didn't spend much time in the hotel.

This hotel is one of my favourite places to stay in Clare I cannot fault the place. the rooms are big and spacious. the breakfast is great lots of variety you can have a big fry up or just a continental breakfast. the staff are very friendly and helpful when we stayed this time two days ago they had a man playing a guitar with a great voice that got the crowd singing it was fab I highly recommend this hotel and its great for kids too as it has a games room and a play area outside and one indoors. I will be back again Ann 😁😁😁😁🎉🎉🎉

Delicious food and great atmosphere. Fantastic service.

Hotel is very spacious great for families with young children. Breakfast was lovely but dinners were not great we went out to Ennis for dinners after 2nd night. Staff are all lovely and doing a great job very helpful.

This little gem is located off the M18 at the junction for quin. A great place to take the kids for a mid week or mid term break. Parking is ample and the rooms are fabulous. There is a leisure centre for the kids with a playground, tennis courts and miniture golf all located on site at the hotel. Well worth a visit.
F. D.
The hotel is very family friendly, with an indoor soft play centre on site, as well as an outdoor playground & miniature golf area, however the entire hotel could do with a serious upgrade. The rooms were large but very dated & musty. The corridors were grubby & the carpets heavily stained & faded. The leisure centre pool is in need of serious work & a deep clean, the tiles & walls were quite dirty & stained. Our room wasn't exactly clean upon check in either, the bathroom floor was dirty & the carpet wasn't vacuumed very well either. However the hotel had it's good points, staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The bar has recently been redone & the food was delicious, it had a great menu for both adults & kids, the hotel breakfast was also very good, with a large selection of other options, if you don't want a fry. There is also plenty of on site parking. I would love to see this place getting a revamp, I would definetly return then
C.
Easy location to get to and plenty of parking available. Loads of facilities for children and families to use such as crazy golf, footgolf etc. Plenty of guidelines up about COVID19 and hand sanitizers available around the hotel. Staff were very friendly in the reception and in the bar. The food was lovely in the bar aswell. Breakfast was also a positive. The only negative thing was the television in the room. Espically with lockdown rules and everything we would have used the telly but it was broken (or we couldnt turn it on) told the staff at the desk and said someone will come to check it but no luck. Other that that it would have been a 5 star review.
T. D.
Staff here are really top class in spite of extraordinary times you are made feel so welcome. Rooms are lovely and spacious definitely a return to hotel. Thanks to all staff and must mention Emily lovely friendly person
S. D.
Great hotel and food was excellent. Played golf in the castle golf club...stunning and amazing course
G. B.
Arrived at this hotel on the Sunday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend. The place was buzzing and the atmosphere was great. We had a meal that evening in the restaurant as the bar was very busy and I must say the food was excellent and the service was second to none, very polite and efficient staff. Breakfast next morning was fabulous and again served prompt and efficient, however as regards to the room I found the windows to be filthy and the toilet bowl to be very dirty. ( The flush vents needed to be bleached, were black with dirt). The rest of the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I can only think that it might be an isolated blip and for that reason will probably give it a revisit.

Brilliant family hotel, really child friendly, lovely food and very friendly staff

A very charming, picturesque inn with a beautiful castle in the property. The attached pub has amazing food and drinks, and the staff is very kind and accommodating to the many large groups that stay.
Visited while on a business trip and will definitely return!

Top class hotel wit great staff and such a great place to bring kids 5 star I must say

Amazing hotel lots of fun for the family will miss it definitely worth a visit 😊

We were diverted to Shannon when our BA flight to Mexico had technical problems. The hotel took around 100 passengers at short notice - all of us tired and a bit frazzled- but the staff here were amazing; friendly, helpful and really kind. Made us all welcome and looked after us for 24 hours. Great service. Lovely setting. Hope to return under more happy circumstances.
S. E.
Lovely hotel, lovely food, lovely staff with the exception of one rude male member of staff.
S. S.
Decent place. The breakfast was great, the staff was great, the room was nice and big. Pillows were awful. This place is extremely kid friendly. Too much so if you don't have kids with you. It was LOUD. Layout of the hotel was funky, with elevators a small trek from reception. Overall a good place.
C. M.
The staff was attentive and very kind. The rooms and scenery were gorgeous. Staying in a castle is as wonderful as it sounds. They offer a spa and plenty of ways to relax as well as plenty of family activities if you'd like to be more active. Also a great golf course. Would definitely go again
C. H.
Quite the surprise all in all. Unbeatable at the price. Room was clean, bed was super comfy and air quality was conducive to a great nights sleep. Food at this location was really good. Loved the freshly made pizza , actually one of the best pizza creations I have had the pleasure of trying. That there says it all coming not too far from the North Beach area of San Francisco. We will be going back again to the Inn at Dromoland.
L. D.
We stayed here for two nights with our kiddies. The place is brilliant. Staff are super friendly, the lads in the bar waiting could help the waitresses out a bit more instead of standing about. Breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice. Play inn is a brilliant area for the kids. Super safe and kiddies thoroughly enjoyed it! Pool area although could do with a good scrub, we still used it and still enjoyed it. Kids club was fantastic, face painting, movie, pop corn, games, colouring in! My little lady enjoyed this so much and lots of chairs around if the adults want to stay which was great. The bedroom was huge! So much space in the family rooms it brilliant! Bathrooms could do with updating ie. Loose tiles on floor, broken plug hole. But otherwise the place is amazing! We would defo recommend this hotel to familys with kids of every age!
M. K.
Nice hotel just off the main motorway between Limerick and Galway. Bar is very nice. Room was clean and spacious. Excellent amenities for children and families. Breakfast was served as buffet and self serve but had plenty. Leisure centre looked dates but gym was modern. Swimming pool was small and didn't venture in so not able to judge. Overall, worth a visit.
E. F.
Went there for afternoon tea. The staff were very friendly, attentive and professional. The sandwiches and cakes were sublime. The setting and crockery along with the endless supply of tea was marvellous.
@ €21 euro ahead it was as filling as a 3 course meal.
J. C.
Fantastic hotel for the kids but apart from that there's not much else going for it. Don't get me wrong, the children love this hotel but personally I wouldn't stay here if u didn't have kids. There's a children's indoor and outdoor play area, crazy golf course, arcade, swimming pool and kids club/disco (although I think this might only be available during weekends or school holidays). Food is mediocre but staff are friendly. A lot of noise in the hallways during the night and morning with children messing so hard to get a good night sleep. Good place to bring the kids but not for a romantic night away
A. M.
Mixed views....late checkin, but manager was nice, rooms need to be refurbished. Breakfast was lovely and dinner in restaurant was good. Antoinette was superb..worth her weight in gold! Grounds and amenities good for kids.
P. G.
Attended a wedding there and it was lovely. The whole day was phenomenal. The service from the staff was next to none. The food was fantastic, the drinks were brilliant. Lovely selection in both areas. Parking was great and it's only 10 minutes from Ennis.

Nice, but.....
Wife and I stayed for 2 nights mid-week. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were extremely polite and courteous. Breakfast was great with a standard hot selection of eggs, ham, sausage, potatoes, beans, mushrooms, etc. The Inn is nice and has several amenities that provide for many different people. There is a golf course on site if you happen to catch decent weather and feel so inclined. There is a huge playground and a game room filled with several arcade games. Seems to have a large focus on families - which we were not - hence the "but" in the title. We were roomed in a section along with several families of small children. I love kids, but when they are running down the hall at 11-12pm and we are trying to sleep so we can have an early start to our day, it makes it very difficult. It is a very large inn, so it would make more sense to room families by families and individuals/couples in another area. Only other real detriment was the shower. It was barely luke warm. While a cool shower in the summer can be refreshing, when we have had snow off and on for the past couple days, it really did not hit the spot. Albeit, I love a hot shower and not everyone does, that I understand - but my wife that likes cool showers even thought it was too cold.
All that said, I would still give it another shot in the future, but would be sure to express on check in that we are early to bed, early to rise and would like to be roomed away from families if at all possible.
L. S.
Beautiful, elegant place that's worth a trip even if you're not staying at the hotel. The grounds are lovely and so is the lobby bar. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Enjoy a walk and admire the views.
A. W.
It's sufficient. I like the place because it reminds me of the resort in "The Shining". It seems to have been built in the mid 1900's and hasn't had a renovation since. But that allows you to see the full service destination location it once was. It's creepy cool with it's sprawling campus and unused-unkept outbuildings. The bar and restaurant are nice and the golf course looks great. But the rooms are in serious need of an update. And carpet warehouse should make a sales call and give them a deal on 2 acres of carpet.
B. M.
Great place. Brilliant staff.
L. A. M.
It was a nice room.
But the shelves were very dusty.
The swimming pool is great.
The staff are very very nice.
The arcade is fun.
There is mini golf and a small playground at the side.
Also there is tennis at the back.
Altogether its a nice place.
I reccomend you to go there.
Remember this is my opinion.
So...
You probably wont have the same one.
J. D.
Attended a family birthday celebration in the small function room. Excellent meal was enjoyed by all present and value for money was also excellent. I ordered Cesar salad as a starter and curry for main course and both were top class. Dessert was equally good and service was most efficient and good humoured.

I have read many reviews that were less than positive regarding the rooms at the Inn at Dromoland, while it is true that they do not have air conditioning ( very few hotels in Ireland have it) these reviews were written by Americans and we generally expect more. The rooms my wife and two sons stayed in were just fine. The staff is outstanding (they arranged for me and my sons to shoot skeet at the castle)and the Pub was great...and if you’re luck enough to be there when an Irish wedding is taking place, crash it, you’ll likely have the night of your life!
J. B.
The inn at dromoland is in a great location. The bar, food and staff are very good. The rooms however are very dated and could do with a freshen up. They didn't really seem all that clean but I believe that is just ware and tear. One upside to the room was it had 4 beds; 3 single beds and 1 double bed, it would be a great room for a family.
M. C.
Set in a lovely area, the view are lovely. The staff were very helpful, and went far beyond the call of duty. The food was a delight to the eye and mouth. A must see. The hotel has a largr kids play area, crazy golf pool gym and more. I will go back.

Pity the lovely afternoon tea was served in a very boring back room, near the kitchen with the smell of lunch comming from there. No athmosphere or ambiance, considering there is a beautiful area close to reception with lovely comfy seating and ambiance. Not value for money.

I stayed here last weekend with my 10 year old daughter and my friends and their kids. we were in rooms on the ground floor. We got a lovely welcome at reception and thought the hotel reception and areas off same were well maintained. I had asked for a quiet room as we are early to bed and was told that all the function rooms are at the opposite end of the hotel. I have to say the staff... mainly very young adults... are exceptionally good at their jobs and have the gift of the gab which is so welcome to tourists and Irish alike. They are just exceptional. The food in the bar was delicious , very varied menu but the bar was so busy due to a "Rose of Clare" function is wasn't comfortable dining there until they all went into their function.
The bedroom was clean and the beds were very comfy , we got great sleep as we were on the back of the hotel. I wasn't overly impressed with the internal route to the Play inn ..was a bit scruffy but the facilities there are good for small kids on a wet day and to be able to sit and have a coffee is a big plus. Furnishings here are bit dirty and could do with a reupholster. The pool is very small so limited to 46 at any time which is a good idea. Was glad to see the young lad on Pool duty on Saturday deal with a few rowdy lads immediately they started to act up in the pool. Issues on Sunday morning with pool not being opened and no steam room or sauna working at 8.30am ? Breakfast was very good both mornings and food was really hot and tasty and the waiting staff very attentive getting tea and toast etc. The walks though Dromoland Castle golf club to the rear of the hotel are just beautiful. The crazy golf isn't crazy ...its totally outdated. Either do crazy golf right or not at all. With the fantastic views available at that area put up a big gazebo and some seating and let people sit and admire the view !!! My 2 issues was the amount of small children running the length and breath of the hotel Saturday and Sunday - while I know a number of communion functions were taking place its simply ridiculous that these children are not being minded by their parents, it was like a crèche gone wild and the noise and running wild was still going on up to midnight on our corridor. I can only imagine what all the USA tourists staying thought ? Surely the hotel has a policy on this - even for child protection ? The other major issue was housekeeping banging on our door at 9.30am and waking us up ...what the hell is that about ? I went to the door and I told her we had been still sleeping ..she said "I'll come back" for what ???...We were checking out at 11am !!! I was very annoyed about this as were my friends- obviously they had a tour coming in and wanted us out as quickly as possible - so just shows poor customer service for us. These 2 issues would have me thinking twice before returning here which is a shame as its a great location off the motorway.

Booked dinner for 4, based on having previously eaten in the bar. Arrived to dining room. Dining room staff had no booking on their records. Told there was no table available, despite restaurant not full. Reception sorted table after we quoted booking details. Sat 45 minutes after reservation time. Portions were generous, steaks were good, fish was over cooked. Expected more and was disappointed overall.

Great place to bring kids for a couple of days. The staff are very attentive and good with kids. The food was a bit pricey for what it was but probably to be expected from a hotel.
They could do with having staff cleaning windows and tables etc. through the day, especially in the bar and lobby areas. There were lots of finger marks on every surface. A hotel manager should be on top of details like that. They had plenty of waiting, bar and other staff.
The play area for the kids was a nice touch. The swimming pool water and changing rooms were cooler than expected!
While the hotel is a bit dated, it offered good value for money. The location is great for Bunratty and Shannon Airport.
Please get an alternative area for smokers other than the front door area. It's horrible to have to walk through smokers fumes heading into the hotel. Get them an area at a side door and discourage them from smoking at the front.

Amazing family friendly hotel, excellent staff, food is amazing in the bar, huge menu for adults and kiddies, indoor soft play centre, arcade room, kids club, pools, walks, everything under one roof! Really close to ennis, limerick and all tourist spots in the area, not far from Galway either. Will be back again another time, our firm favourite family friendly hotel so far!!
E. M. S.
Great place for the children. Plenty for them to do if there is time to do so after taking in all the sights and experiences that are to offer within an hour drive of the hotel. This area is steeped with historical and geographic beauties.
I. M.
Myself & my family stayed here for 3 nights a few weeks ago. Rooms were very comfortable, kids loved the playarea, the staff were very friendly & helpful. The food was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
V. R.
Lovely lunch, friendly staff.
g. k.
Upon arrival at the property the reception staff were not very friendly and fairly rude in there manner, The food was fantastic and the staff in the restaurant couldnt have being nicer. The bedroom itself was cold and looks like it hasnt being done up since it first opened, while the shower kn the bathroom was brilliant the bathroom itself was falling apart with cracks around the sink and missing tiles along the ground, it smelled musty and old. The phone in the room did not work so each time we had to walk the whole way up to reception, asked to fix the phone and was told someone would be down but noone turned up. Overall experience would like to stay again if they fixed the place up and maybe the reception staff do a course to fix their behaviour as the inn is situated jn a lovely area and has much potential.
A. B.
Fab, extended weekend break with all the family. Food fab, staff and service excellent. Hotel totally covid complient, made our stay very enjoyable..hope to come back soon
E. W.
The service is outstanding and all staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast that is part of the stay is outstanding, our room is standard but clean and has everything we needed. The bonus is the beauty of the country and walking right to the castle!
J. S.
Unexpected stop over after a flight was diverted, but despite 100 passengers arriving with no notice the hotel looked after us well. We were too late for dinner but the bar was good and a great breakfast
M. C.
A lovely place to go for something to eat be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food is very good also. Very clean, staff are friendly and not overly expensive. A good selection of drinks here also. Definitely well worth a visit
M. W.
I was excited upon walking in. The lobby and restaurant look very nice, but the hotel decor quickly deteriorates once you leave the front areas. =/ Hotel carpet generally creeps me out, but this hotel was in worse shape than most. We intended to eat at the restaurant, Shannigan's, I think it's called, but the overwhelmingly strong odor of fried foods and fish forced us back out to find other choices in Ennis. We only interacted with one staff member, a nice young lady at the check-in desk, and she was quite helpful. Thank you to her, but she alone can't salvage a hotel that seems to be riding on the coat tails of the apparently much nicer castle option on the property.
V. P.
Very kids friendly with indoor playzone for kids and swimming pool for both kids and adults. The room we stayed was recently refurnished. A good breakfast, and a Pub within the Hotel premisses.
C. D.
Place needs a refurbishment. Very musky smell, carpets quite stained. Breakfast was delicious. Playground needs to be fixed up as its quite water logged.
V. C.
We stayed here as a part of our deal through Great Value Vacations. We weren't necessarily greeted pleasantly upon arrival - everyone at the inn seemed very busy and did not have time to talk with us about nearby things to do. It was off-putting to me because this was our first stop after we got off the plan in Ireland and made me feel sad that we weren't welcome. The bed in our room was also VERY uncomfortable. However, the grounds and the inn itself was beautiful. The Dromoland castle and golf course are also close by and very beautiful. The inn has a restaurant called Shannigans which was delicious and breakfast was delicious as well. Despite the unkind service and bed, we had a lovely stay at the Inn. We don't have kids but it also seemed very kid-friendly.
B. O. S.
Went there today for lunch. Felt very safe as they had everything in place for Covid 19. Lovely food and very pleasent staff. Will call there again when passing that way.
B. M.
Really brilliant facilities. A noisy rad in the room is the only complaint. A little bit isolated in terms of a town but brilliantly located in terms of the country. Only a 40 min drive to the Burren or the Cliffs of Moher.... Some of the best scenery in the country
C. J.
Cannot speak of the price here as my stay was paid for by an outside party however I will say this place is a great place to unwind. Great facilities include the pool, gym, dining room, and pub/restaurant as well as golf parties. Bathrooms could definitely stand an upgrade as they are outdated, but this is common in European hotels from my experience. You definitely have to check out the golf course if your going to stay here though as that is definitely the main appeal.
R. o. c.
Attended a christening dinner here. The sun room was lovely and a nice intimate space. Plenty of room for children and the playground was a big hit!
The food and service was brilliant.
M. M.
Really lovely hotel. Rooms are lovely. The food was fantastic. The staff are all really nice and helpful..
j. s.
Fantastic, friendly, and very helpful staff. Loved the walk of the grounds, food was delicious and the portions were amazing. This hotel was a little gem for a great price.
M. M.
Good for quiet rooms not luxury basic food we ordered was cold ate elsewhere after that swimming pool needs major upgrade
v. o.
Beautiful hotel food Beautiful and staff very friendly
P. M. (.
This is a fantastic hotel with amazing staff and facilities. The restaurant and bar food is unreal and a great place for families and night time enterainment. The staff are more then helpful and it is a short trip to limerick and ennis. The hotel is also a stunning wedding venue and can cater for large crowds. Highly recommended by @paulmullinsphotography.ie
S. A.
Beautiful Inn. Great location! Beautiful golf course! Amazing staff! If you're coming to Shannon or Limerick, it's a wonderful place to stay!
C. R.
Very nice hotel with a great lobby bar/restaurant. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable of local sights. Easy check in. Beds comfortable, with very clean rooms.
C. H.
Highly recommend staying here the food is amazing or even passing by stop in for lunch. There's plenty of entertainment for kids, swimming, crazy golf, bike hire, clay pigeon shooting, indoor soft play area and playground. Very clean however the swimming pool area just needs updating but very minor. Great location centre of everything example cliffs of moher, bunratty Castle and shopping in limerick or crescent shopping centre.
D. L.
Food is fantastic. Don't miss the breakfast. Rooms are comfortable. Service is very good.
Tip: if you have a deal, keep a copy with you at the checkout.
d.
Nice hotel in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food and the breakfast in particular is very good and decent sized portions.
M. H.
Very nice hotel. Friendly staff. Walking distance (20 min) to Dromoland Castle. Easy to get to from Shannon Airport. Nice pub.
K. T.
We stayed at the Inn for the last night of our trip to Ireland and enjoyed the pool, the beautiful grounds, the excellent restaurant inside, the great breakfast, and the family bedroom with one queen and two twin beds. The next morning the trip to the airport was super easy!
J. C.
I liked the hotel to where we have stayed recently, great place to stay I'd give this building the thumbs up. the bedrooms were cleaned out everyday.
This hotel is class in my view! it was my first experience in County Clare.
The band were a Local from Co Wexford, and afterwards, there was a DJ on the night. Yes it ended late.. But worth the stay in my view!
My main concern:
Is the Website. It is not secure and that may be bad for business of the hotel,
I'd strongly suggest is to make their website more secure.
K. K.
Great for kids, food was fantastic and family room was very good. Staff were very efficient and friendly. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks very much
A. T. S.

Lovely hotel. Great food . Friendly helpful staff. Booked with other family members.
Only downside for a few of us was that the rooms were freezing!
D. O.
Room was outdated looking but overall comfortable and clean. The gym equipment needs updating. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast buffet was delicious.
L. O.
Lovely Staff, lovely hotel, lovely rooms altho the drain in the bath in our room made funny noises... lovely food except for breakfast (room service) I'd recommend going down for breakfast its fresher and hotter.... Would stay here again as overall experience was grand ☘️

D. “. G.
Pleasant staff and clean rooms, breakfast was excellent. 1 drawback was the price of drinks in the bar 🤐 however in contrast the pub grub was great value and top quality nosh 😆
E. Y.
We were there as guests to an evening cocktail event. Food was good, though the receptionist didn't not know the starting time of the event. Everything else was smooth and no complaints.
M. M.
Great hotel. Very very long confusing hallways but not a problem at all. Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The bathrooms were outdated but functional and clean.
T. E.
My flight was diverted so I ended up staying here rather unexpectedly and suddenly. The staff, service and breakfast were delightful, staff was so accomodating. The room was nice, but needs updating.
p. d.
Staff are very friendly and helpful rooms clean and comfortable food is lovely and plenty of it
C. F.
Stopped off here for a late lunch recently and was very impressed with the monkfish and prawn curry. Service was just ok and I thought overall bar menu was quite pricy but what I had was good in fairness including the glass of chardonnay.
T. C.
Ideal for a family with smalls.
The pool area is a bit dated, but the play area makes up for it.
Staff are lovely to deal with
M. G.
Our little family had an amazing weeend here. The atmosphere is relaxed, children are allowed to be children - they can play and be themselves while mammy and daddy can relax and have some time together, 😍
K. V.
Very nice place to stay, staff was very nice, an helpful! Pub was also very nice, food was really good too! Would definitely recommend to anyone going to that area of Ireland!
a. m.
Had morning tea with a group of friends. Service was good for €10 a head but the coffee was dreadful and all items were sweet breads a brown bread selection roulette have been nice. The renovation of the premises is very good
S. H.
Was here for a wedding couldn't fault the service was fantastic and overall impression of the hotel was excellent, with magnificent views and fab golf course and amenites for young and old, very friendly staff we done all involved
E. M.
The hotel staff are very friendly, They greeted me before i even said a word, with a smile. My luggage was delivered to my room, and as i walked the hallway, every staff member i encountered said hello.
H. J.
Hotel is on a perfect location: beside motorway near dromoland castle (beautyful). Staff seemed friendly. Only stayed 1 night, but could hear the noise in the hall and in other rooms. With earplugs it's grand. Good price / quality.
M. L.
Great staff, professional and kind. Food supplied v good. Will call in again. Thank you.
E. S.
I stayed here with my husband as a part of a guided tour through Ireland. I thought the accommodations were great, food was good. Overall it was a good stay. However, what happened after I left was why I'm giving these guys a 5-Star Rating.
Here's the back story: before our trip to Ireland we flew to my parents' house for a few days for a visit. I took some personal items from that house with me including my sister's childhood stuffed rabbit that she'd had since birth. Baby Fluff-fluff (BFF). My sister passed away 5 years ago, and having BFF was very important to me.
Yes, I do realize that someone in their late 20's should not be traveling internationally with a stuffed purple rabbit...but I digress....
Jumping to after our departure, I realized that I had left him in the hotel room. I was very distraught, and did not know how to contact the hotel since our phones were from the USA and we're uneducated plebs.
I resorted to emailing each address I could find on the website. I didn't hear back for a few days and I started to lose hope. Then my guardian Claire, the deputy manager, responded and was able to track down the escapee. She asked for my address and promised that he would be whisked away to our house in Washington.
He arrived today, and I couldn't be more grateful. BFF is very precious. He is one of the last links I have to my little sister. I'm eternally indebted to the Inn at Dromoland and Claire for going above and beyond to reunite me with him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
M. B.
We had a fantastic 2 night stay here, great atmoshere, fantastic food, excellent staff...
J. M.

Restaurant and bar is lovely. Rooms could do with a revamp along with the pool and sauna but the staff was brilliant and the prices were very resonable. I would stay here again
B. G.
perfect for a family stay. Sprawling complex with pool, mini-golf, soft play. Bar food was decent. Breakfast very poor value.
s. s.
Great place to stay and eat
J. L.
It is what it is (a room for the night) lovely bar, but my food was poor there , rooms very outdated, need of refurbishment ( especially the bathroom) staff friendly, good pint, it's OK but wouldn't be running back here.
A. P.

Eat here regularly in Shannigans bar. Food is excellent, service can be a little slow at peak times. Great for kids, as has a massive play area on site.
K. L.
Great room and very friendly staff. We also ate in the pub and had the hamburger which was excellent!
P. O.
Fabulous hotel. Absolutely great service. Was there for a wedding and the function room was a traditional venue with mood lighting.
F. C.
We had a group afternoon tea here today, the staff, the food, the room, everything was fantastic!!! The staff were absolutely brilliant!! Thank you!
D. P.
Good solid food. Be clear with the waiters and the service will be fine. Nice rooms. Cosy teas by the fire.
B. C.
Would recommend eating at the indoor pub instead of the hotel itself for breakfast. Everything else was fantastic. Just buy the room and eat all meals at the pub.

Lov this hotel great night away with the family
A. D.
The flavour of the crabclaws were smothered by the burned chilly oil. They have a shortage of tea spoons.
J. P.
1950s Ireland with a veneer of the 21st century. The staff make the place, certainly wasn't the architecture anyway. The gym is a disappointment. They should probably have refurbished it last time they refurbished the hotel.
B. M.
Very good and happy with service
