Everyone was nice and helpful. The only issue was the cleanliness of the room. There was stained linen, stains on light fixtures and the bottom of the window in our room had some sort of stains from something spilled.
The breakfast was great and staff was amazing especially Jo at the tribes restaurant.

We had an excellent stay here at the Clayton Hotel in Galway. My partner and I stayed for 2 nights.
The food was amazing for both breakfast and Dinner. The Tribes restaurant is amazing, It was the best food we have ever had. The staff are so lovely and the customer service skills were excellent. A big thank you to Jo who served us at breakfast, made sure we were happy with everything and was really accommodating with our orders. The bistro had a lovely dinner option and the food was also incredible for dinner. Would definitely recommend my friends return even to try brunch or for dinner and drinks.
The rooms are fabulous and really comfortable. The front desk were brilliant with Laurence greeting us on entry to the hotel. He was very memorable from how lovely he was when taking reservations for us over the phone. He was very informative and great at answering questions, with great interpersonal skills.
Value for money was excellent.
We will definitely be back here again and will recommend to friends, family and colleagues!

Clayton Hotel Galway is a great location. Lovely and clean hotel.
Excellent service overall. Super service in the bar for dinner. In particular from Luke. Wow; so friendly and such a great attitude. Nothing was a problem. Such a nice guy! Food was good too.

Over from the UK for the week and had driven from Dublin to Galway and had booked the week before. (also stayed at a Clayton Hotel in Dublin) Arrived early and Leonie was fantastic in getting me a room quickly. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really good. Waited on by Jo who looked after me and is a credit to the hotel. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit. I'd always chose Clayton hotels given the choice. Always a good experience.

I really liked this hotel. Beautiful entrance and very helpful and nice staff. The room was massive! It has a relax area to one side and the bedroom to the other. Also the bathroom was impressive. The restaurant serves quite good food. It has also a nice swimming pool.

Heard about the food here and with our wedding coming up wanted to try it for ourselves. The food here was absolutely amazing. Our sever Jo was extremely friendly, welcoming and great to have a laugh with. He recommended us some dishes and let me tell you the man knows what hes talking about. Hes recommendations were spot on. The chef here is talented beyond belief. All in all we left the tribe restaurant very full, happy and satisfied. We will definitely be returning here again soon. Many thanks for such a great dinner, 10 out of 10 recommended!!!!

Jo served my partner and I and was very friendly and attentive. The food here was amazing and the chef is very talented. We both ordered different courses and tasted each others food all the courses were delicious and we were well feed. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Hotel is clean and the staff are so friendly. Couldn't do enough to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Have stayed here a good few times and cannot fault it. The night manager Martin was lovely and very accommodating. Also had a lovely dinner cooked by a chef from Cavan. Would definitely reccomend and will definitely be back.

Modern and clean. We'll situated. Comfortable rooms, although tea/coffee making lacked anything to stir coffee with and for 4* could have been better supplied! Restaurant food was nice and adequate for 4* hotel. Would recommend for short break
M. D.
Great bar food. Dinner was fab. Room lovely. However, breakfast was awful. Bad buffet, terrible orange juice for example just not nice. I really don't understand why Irish hotels still do buffet breakfasts. They're a waste of time and food.
M. M.
Stayed for 4 nights. Staff throughout the hotel are very friendly and efficient. Room was clean and spacious. Food was lovely in both bar and restaurant. Pool area was very clean and efficiently run with covid restrictions. I would advise booking pool well in advance as it books up quickly
J. W.
Tribes restaurant food was amazing and the staff will go above and beyond for you. Food selection is amazing and fresh
A big special shout out Jo who had a lovely chat and a few jokes with us this morning at breakfast 😀
And also Sean who served us for our evening meal the steaks are to die for

Stayed here recently with a large group, rooms were fine, the window in out room was broken so couldn't be closed properly but when the curtains were closed it was fine. Food in the bar and restaurant was nice service was a bit slow. Pool, shauna and steamroom are very small
L. B.
3 night stay to celebrate my birthday, had an incredible birthday dinner, definitely exceeded all expectations, the restaurant and the staff are amazing, great food and service, will definitely return. Thank you to the entire team. The room was also lovely and very clean.

We stayed in the Galway Clayton for two nights & the lovely lady who's name we didn't manage to get while serving us perfectly cooked delicious steaks (compliments to chefs) & Sarah, at breakfast who is a mind reader, when it came to our needs! She was outstanding & couldn't have been more attentive, helpful & friendly.

I highly commend the wedding planning staff, Karina and Debbie, for top class customer service. My partner and I had booked our wedding reception with the Clayton and Karina was an absolute dream to deal with throughout all the many cancellations that COVID created for us. When it no longer became possible to go ahead with our ceremony due to complications from COVID, Karina and Debbie were both so kind and helpful to us. I wish we could have held our wedding there as you couldn't meet more professional and diligent staff. Highly recommended for any kind of special event.
D. B.
Fantastic hotel! Really enjoyed our stay. Food was excellent but the staff were the cherry on top, friendly, helpfull but most of all professional. Its a hard job at the moment but they never missed a beat.
l. o.
Hotel was lovely, food was good but the bar closed at 11, for residents aswell. They said we could sit in lounge but they start putting lights out there at same time the bar closed. Very disappointing. Also the pool was closed for maintenance, this was one of the reasons we picked the hotel was for the pool.
A. M.
Stayed for 2 nights in Clayton Galway, wedding on the second night. Everything was exceptional, the food was exquisite, 100% attention from Joe at wedding service in tribes restaurant, Couldn't fault a thing. Will be back.

We re guests at the hotel and were looking for a nice place to dine for my gf birthday. Due to the unfortunate weather we decided to eat at the hotel and it was truly a blessing in disguise. Amazing tasty food, great staff and would come back anyday!
Hotel Rooms are amazing too! The whole staff is very welcoming and enjoy talking to the guests, best staycation so far!

I stayed in the hotel last week for 3 nights along with my family. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and location is good with bus stop just outside hotel to city centre. The food was excellent and the staff were outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be returning. Thank you
T. S.
Had an excellent meal at the tribes restaurant, our servers Anne and Joe were extremely accommodating and went out of there way to make our daughters birthday memorable for her, food and drink from start to finish was fantastic , would give it 6 out of 5 if that was an option , highly recommended.
C. M. G.
Had a lovely stay at the Clayton. They took all necessary precautions to ensure a safe stay. Breakfast great variety. I missed the fact that you could get your own food when you wanted it and not served to you all at once. I understand covid regulations determine this. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.
E. P.
We had a lovely stay in the Clayton recently. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We had just gotten engaged the day we came to stay and had booked a standard room but we were upgraded to the presidential suite when we told the girls at the reception of our engagement. The girls names were Amy and Aisling and were absolute dotes.
We a great time and food was also great, thanks so much ❤️

I've had to stay on a regular basis over the last number of months throughout the current COVID-19 Situation and have to say the Clayton has been fantastic. From the friendliness of the front of house people right through the team working here under exceptional circumstances. The rooms are very well appointed with all the creature comforts of home. The food, though a limited menu due to the pandemic, is still very tasty and varied with enough choice to meet any demands. A great job being done by all the team here.

Here for a wedding, Luke look after me at the bar! All staff was great fun but Luke was by far the best, thank you!

We had a wonderful nights stay at the Clayton Hotel Galway. I had 2 medical appointments at The galway Clinic, so decided to book a room at the Clayton.
From the telephone booking right up to check out was amazing . The staff were so friendly and very knowledgeable on all the covid restrictions. We had dinner in the Bistro and again this was faultless both in food quality and service. It was a pleasure in these challenging times to have had such a normal experience. Breakfast was also very fresh and had good quality produce, very enjoyable. Check out with Aisling was very friendly and professional , as was check in but I cant remember the girls name. Thank you all at the Clayton for a very enjoyable stay. I will be back and highly recommend it to anybody travelling to Galway.

Very nice and clean hotel. Lady at the checkin was really lovely. Our room was spacious and spotless. Shower was amazing and bathroom was really clean. Pool and breakfast have to be booked but it can be done from your phone. You can also request clean towels and room service. Would stay here again.

Location outside the city so you need a taxi. Friendly staff. Everything seems to be running smoothly under the Covid restrictions. Hotel is clean and plenty of hand sanitizer. The room is a bit old but very clean. Bathrooms spotless with good quality toiletries. Breakfast was tasty, best croissants I ever had.
J. D.

I have found my use of the facilities absolutely excellent. The staff have gone above and beyond their duties to make me and my team feel safe, comfortable in these times. I would like to compliment the Clayton management on their employees in the Galway Clayton for making the use of the hotel accessible, secure and safe.
P. N.
Had an overnight stay after having a bit of a drive to get out and to pick up a housemate in Dublin airport afterwards. Excellent, friendly staff; especially the receptionist that greeted us at night (great shout on the takeaway as well). Due to covid restrictions there's table service to the breakfast buffet. Can definitely recommend, food was great and very affordable.
Didn't get to see much of the swimming pool or training room, but the room we stayed in was very clean and was sealed after previous cleaning.
E. R.
Very impressed with Chloe who looked after us in the bar. Friendly, helpful, and a credit to the hotel
E. O. D.
Check in was very efficient the lady with blonde hair at the desk was very friendly, The executive Room was very spacious and clean, also they had a sky box in the room which was great, Dinner was good Clark was serving us food took a while to come out and when it did they had the wrong order but Clark looked after us very well and I have to say it brought up my stars so thanks to him for his hospitality. Breakfast was delicious too think it was the manager who served us and he was very professional.
S. B.
Staff throughout are great and in particular in the bar, very attentive, Adam in particular. Have always looked after me.

Great service from Jo lovely food in the Tribes Restaurant in the Clayton Galway Hotel
L. H.
Really nice hotel. Busy place but still slept soundly. Comfortable bed with a rainfall shower in the bathroom. Staff are polite and helpful: Needed a safety pin so called down to reception and a member of staff was at our room within 5 minutes with a complimentary sewing kit. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The food in the restaurant was gorgeous and our waitress was really nice. Around a five minute drive to the city centre. Did not use the leisure facilities so I can't comment on them. Lovely hotel, would visit again.
A.
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Chloe and all the waiting staff so welcoming and helpful. We will be back!
R. M.
Stayed for 1 night on a good deal dinner bed and breakfast plus upgrade to executive suite. Wow what a room everything was great great covid regulations in place. Staff lovely and great service. Unfortunately didnt get to use the pool to was booked up maybe another time.
Food in bar lovely and drinks reasonable.
C.
We arrived pretty late so the restaurant had just closed, but the reception that was working the night shift recommended us a great place and we were allowed to bring the food to the room! He was so nice and the service from the staff was brilliant!
The room was great, we were 3 adults in one room but the space was still great and all three beds were comfortable.
The room was sealed with a sticker to make sure its been cleaned to meet the covid19 restriction criteria and it was very clean!
Breakfast was good and it was served directly to your table. Top Waitresses and the food was great, points to the chefs in the kitchen as wel!
All in all it was a fantastic stay and I'm a bit sad it was only for 1 night!
Thank you staff and Clayton Hotel for a great night, stay safe i these COVID19 days!
O. K. F.
Lovely food, clean room. Thank you
L. B.
Very nice staff and had a very enjoyable time. The room was very nice and the food in the bar was great and served fast.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, nice food and a small pool.
B. C.
Very helpful staff, especially Jo. He made our stay great fun. A wealth of local knowledge.
N. O. C.
The room was perfect for a family. Food was great just not a large selection on the bar menu. The him was fab. However in terms of the pool, it is not manned well. We needed to buy armbands. However he was giving a swimming lesson so just told us to come back later. They should really have an additional person on the desk. However the hotel were very apologetic didn't charge us for the armbands and gave us a voucher for free breakfast. Still one of my favorite places to stay
j. s.
We had a great time, weather was awful because of the Jorge front that hit Galway. Anyway the hotel was great, the staff were great, the rooms were very clean and well looked after. I loved the bar. The bar food was great. Will go back again.
J. C.
Just on a one night stay. The room was very clean and plenty of space for two adults and teenager. The bar food and service was good. However compared to other hotels I have stayed in the group it appeared that none of the staff seemed to greet you as you passed them. Small point but friendliness makes a big difference to a customer experience. Also the breakfast was very average and disorganized with no plates or bowls available at stages and had to ask for coffee twice. Again got the impression the breakfast staff not very motivated to deliver a good customer service product. Not the usual well managed Clayton product.
A. D.
excellent food in the restaurant very good quality, will definitely call again
K. L.
Stayed here overnight as I had an appointment in Galway Clinic, just 2mins away from the clinic. Also across the road is Dunnes, Kentucky, and other small shops. Hotel was beautiful staff were so nice making sure I was ok for everything. First time staying in the Clayton won't be my last 5 stars all round 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
L. C.
The hotel staff were very helpful from the time arrived. The bedroom was cleaned to a high standard. The training room was perfect and food provided was beautiful. The staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and helpful a great credit to the hotel.
Well done to all.
S. C.
Nice, big hotel. Very friendly staff at front desk and in the bar. Food was lovely. Very clean. Room was spotless and comfortable. Pool was overbooked so we couldn’t use it.
H. B.
Had a lovely stay at the Clayton, reception and dining staff were so helpful. Special thanks to Hannah and Nidhi for looking after us ☺
P. M.
It was a very pleasant stay would definitely be back all the staff very helpful and very clean great hotel would definitely recommend this hotel
s. m.
Staff are really nice and friendly. Swimming pool is really nice. Hotel rooms are OK, could do with a bit more cleaning, thick layer of mold found in the bathroom. The room is really big and spacious.

We had our wedding in the clayton last weekend and everything was perfect. Karina and the team are amazing, nothing was too much, the attention to detail was amazing, and karina put our mind at ease from day 1 dealing with her. The hotel is fab, the layout was amazing and the food was 5 star. Our guests are still saying how good the food and portion sizes where.
The function room was great and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. I cant recommend the clayton enough! If your in 2 minds about having your wedding during covid with limited numbers, do it! Karina and her team made the whole day feel so full of people and the layout made the room feel full. You wont regret going with the clayton, they went above and beyond. Thank you Karina and staff

From the moment I rang the hotel and dealt with Brien on reception I kind of knew I was in for a treat he was absolutely lovely. From checking in to checking out and with the lovely Ashling in the middle it was fantastic. I would have liked to have taken note of all of their names so I could mention them . A big shout out to the lovely guy who looked after the pool on the first 2 nights of our 3 day stay he was an absolute gentleman. He was on duty at 7pm on the wed 29th and thurs 30th July of our stay he extended our swim area after taking the time to make sure an other family were not coming., this made such a difference to our break as the pool is a vital part of our stay. Lounge staff for dinner lovely. Food was fab. Breakfast was lovely and breakfast staff were lovely. Rooms brilliant size and very comfy . We had an issue with heating and a window handle not working. Maintenance sorted panel ASAP (he was lovely) He couldn't sort window but we were offered a room change which we declined because we were in interconnecting rooms. The lovely Aishling sent a complimentary bottle a wine to us at dinner because of the hassle with heating and window. All in all Rory you should be very proud of your staff they are amazing. Thank you for a lovely stay and hope to return again.

A lovely place to visit and to stay and lovely food there

I really enjoyed my stay at the Clayton Hotel Galway. The quality of service is impeccable, my room was fresh and cleaned to a very high standard. Reception greeted me daily and ensured I had everything I needed. Breakfast is amazing very good selection and bright welcoming atmosphere. Dinner was amazing the steak is top quality.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in galway city.

Clayton hotel Galway is the perfect place to stay, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too big or small for them to make your stay a memorable one 🤗
P. F.
From the outside hotel looks nice & clean, inside it is also very clean. As it is beside a motorway I did not find the room noisy even with the window open all night. Room was very clean & bed comfy, I had a good night's sleep. The towels are a bit on the hard side. Breakfast, plenty of it but for a 4 star hotel the quality needs to be better. Staff are nice & there is plenty of parking at the hotel.
M. B.
I have been to two weddings at this venue in the last two weeks and found them to be very different but both very good. The facilities and the service for both were excellent. One was a church wedding and the second a civil ceremony but the hotel handled both seamlessly even providing the room for the civil ceremony and accommodating over a hundred people for the ceremony alone. A job well done
E. B.
Very comfortable beds and the pillows are wonderful. With a bad back and neck problems like I have, this really matters. Staff were fabulous, I don't say that lightly. Food was average in the Bar. Hotel was clean and quiet. Enjoyed my brief stay. Definitely would stay again.
P. J. O.
Great hotel. Lovely staff but avoid the rooms on 2nd floor facing out onto the road. The overhang reflects the sound down into the rooms and sleep can be difficult.
T. K.
Lovely staff, comfortable stay.
R. B.
Great food, delicious service that was prompt and fast.
d. c.
The staff in this hotel are absolutely fantastic. Special mention to the bar staff. They make you feel right at home and the bar food was great. The hotel and hotel rooms are a little tatty. The pool area is just about to be revamped and it is in bad need of it. Over all just needs an update but not a bad place to stay
d. g.
It's a nice hotel to chill out & unwind, rooms nice & clean. My only gripe was the bar staff in the lounge, very slow to notice ppl waiting to be served. You nearly have to shout to get attention. A good bar person scans the bar, not here they wash & clean glasses/area oblivious to customers.
D.
Bravo to all the staff of the Clayton Galway (and especially to Jo in Tribes restaurant) for the wonderful VIP treatment over the weekend!
M. B.
Very well organised for dining and drinks. Staff were so nice, especially the reception staff.
M. D.
Stayed in an executive suite in the hotel. Room size was prefect. The beds are top class. Really comfortable decent size. The bar food was really nice and the pints are good also!! The staff are very professional and friendly. If ur looking for night life nearby its a no go. You would need to be closer to the city. But for what we wanted it was perfect. Highly recommended.
L. J.
Ok so this was not as centrally located as I wanted but served its purpose. We were a little disappointed when our room wasn't cleaned in the 3 days we were there, and that we had to ask twice for more toilet tissue. The other downer was there were no wash cloths, but thankfully there is a store across the street in a cute little mall that had some and we ended up buying some there and took them home with us. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean upon arrival. The staff was very friendly and the two pubs there were really nice additions for someone who is traveling and just wants a bite and bed. The chowder is something I still think about!!!
M. E.
We stayed 2 nights here during our honeymoon. Upon check in we got upgraded to a suite which was a nice surprise. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was amazing with a huge walk in shower and overhead shower feature. The room also had air conditioning which helped keep us cool when the weather outside heated up. Breakfast was not included but was 10 euros for all you can eat hot and cold items. Wait staff service was lacking but that seemed to be the standard around Ireland.
R. F.
Was here for a conference. Lovely accommodation. They supported the conference extremely well. My only criticism in that regard was the sandwiches and nibbles were overly fancy. Sometimes you just want a simply sandwich. Later in the evening there seemed to be some confusion over the residence bar, with some staff cutting us off and other staff happy to serve us. In the end the bar manager resolved the situation and continued to serve us. So thank you for that, whoever you are. I heard the swimming pool and gym facilities are very nice too. The location is a little outside Galway, but overall I had a fantastic stay here.
J. M.
The place is classy, modern and clean. I enjoyed the large corner room but not the walk to get there. I wish breakfast opened up sooner for those tourists wanting an early start. Overall nice place similar to other 3 star hotels we have stayed in.
D. F.
Was here for a wedding! Service was amazing. Manager on the floor was the star of the night She was on the ball with all of our complicated requests (Think her name was Carmel). Food was really nice and hot. We will definitely back to dine in the bar or the restaurant!
J. O.
Really great service from the staff, plenty of amenities inside and out of the room and good food. There were a few issues though:
•The vending machines for the condoms in the bathrooms were broken down on the ground floor and the first floor.
•The toast machine in the dining area only toasted one side of the bread, which was a bit irritating, and with no butter on the tables.
Other than that a great experience over all

Had a great stay ,room cosy ,food delicious and the staff were very welcoming and friendly ,will definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel. People need to visit it to appreciate. Gluten free options which is great too

Post Christmas, Christmas party night.
The food was excellent and the staff friendly etc
We'd a great night. The music was very good, something for all ages which was important as there was a very diverse age profile. The band (Amazing Apples) were very interactive and even invited a few people up to help belt out a tune or two.
I didn't stay the night but I have in the past and the accommodation is always top notch.
There is lots of free parking either on the surface or (my favourite) in their underground carpark.
C.
Very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Its easy to get to, although the carpark is kinda hard to get your head around entering it. Theres plenty of parking spaces to chose from. The rooms are massive and very clean. The reception staff friendly and helpful. The bar staff are a little slow but nothing major as waiting more than a minute or so. The breakfast buffet was nice too and plenty of stuff to pick from.
J. C.
Easily the best corporate hotel in Ireland.
Staff, service, rooms, WiFi, pillows, bathroom, plug placement, breakfast, dinner are all top notch.
Ideally placed to miss out the galway nightmaretraffic but easy to walk to the centre.
M. C.
Lovely stuff.. Very r nice, helpful and kind. Rooms are very clean and nice. I didn't like the breakfast but anyway everything was great. Recommend 😊
m.
Great location spotless clean kids loved it.
S. G.
Very clean and modern Hotel with great amenities. The room was spacious and services were excellent. Beds were very comfortable. The patio was a nice touch for fresh air. Pool and spa were great.
The breakfast was good. I especially appreciated the juice selection. Including a smoothie! Eggs were slightly dry. Price was reasonable. Not an amazing value, but not bank breaking.
The one serious draw back and reduction in start count was location. This was not walkable to the downtown city center. It was quite far away.
f. F.
The rooms are nice and the staff is wonderful. There is a big road nearby, so be aware of the noise of traffic, if you are on that side of the hotel. We had problems with the tv and the lights not working. After calling the reception they fixed the issue.
Taxi to the city isn't too expensive either and there is a bus stop nearby.
M. M.
Attended our daughters wedding... with many wedding guests staying overnight. Staff were wonderful, offering service with good grace and humor. Our room was gorgeous.... had food in bistro on day two. Excellent again. I would highly recommend the Clayton to visitors to the city
B. S.
Looks like a beautiful hotel but I didn't stay at the Clayton. I went for a PCR Covid test. The staff were for friendly and extremely professional and fast turnaround.
A.
Clean and comfy rooms, lovely bath and plenty of mirrors! Effective hotel staff.
But what makes this location really shine is the bar! What a great experience! Locals are welcoming and a great conversation can be had, as well as a wealth of information of the best spots in Galway and best transport to get to them (thanks, Aiden) - top it off with outstanding bartenders (thank you, Mark) that know the exact amount of attention needed, customized to each customer, want to have a laugh? Done. Want to be left alone? Done. And, everything in between! Burgers were yummy and went deliciously with a neat, no ice, Black Bush whiskey or three.
For breakfast arrive around 8 or 9 a.m. if you enjoy a quite and calm morning, after that it can be quite busy. Enjoy your stay at the Clayton, and whatever you do, do not pass up at least a wee bit of time at the bar.
M. H.
Staff were both friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and generous in size. The food was good in the bar and breakfast in the restaurant was good. My daughters claimed that the choc brownies on the children's menu were the best they've had( and they have had a lot)!! The pool although on the small side was clean, the water was a little cool. The changing rooms in the leisure centre are very small and offer no privacy. This was the only area that I felt needed improvement. Myself and my daughters aged 9 and 7 were using them when a lady came in with her 2 sons aged around 6. Obviously my daughters felt very uncomfortable about having to change with boys present and the older girl ended up getting dressed in the shower cubicle. As I said this is only a minor detail. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would return again😀
E. S.
The hotel was nice with very helpful friendly staff. The bed was comfy with good pillows. Breakfast was good and there was a good choice of fresh tasty food. The gym was the only disappointment with very little equipment and it was small and too warm. The carpet in the bedroom also left the overall facility a bit shabby. They hotel was good value for money
C. Q.
Stayed here for a hen and would recommend. We did a cocktail class in the hotel which was good. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
The breakfast was good and the rooms are lovely. It's about a five minute taxi drive into Galway city.
A. M.
We really enjoyed our stay at Clayton Hotel, Galway. The staff were so so friendly , helpful and obliging. From the receptionists to the bar staff, they were exceptional. Room was lovely and clean. We had our 11 month baby with U.S. and would thoroughly recommend a stay at this hotel.
P. H.
Good rooms, staff friendly. Efficent staff but over worked. Food is two star. Ate in both bar and restaurant. Restaurant poor. Deserts awful. Sticky toffe pudding was served cold. Tortellini main fish way over cokked. Avoid the food and its good
D. C.
Perfect place for us to stay for work. Well set up in these strange and uncertain times. Food and drinks ordered on your phone and ready to pickup.
M. O.
First hotel post lockdown, was so happy. Clean, lots of sanitizers, felt safe. Good food. Comfy rooms. Great fantastic cheery staff. Great stay
A. K.
Lovely friendly staff & great location. The one downside was we had ordered breakfast in bed which didn't come, we rang down to the kitchen who said they would rectify the mistake but never did. Overall great hotel though.
C. H.
I stayed at the Clayton for a friends wedding on Saturday the 21st of October. My friends and I were checked in so quickly and in our room all within 10 minutes. Our room was fantastic with two large double beds and a lovely seating area. Lots of treats in the room to keep us going until we had dinner.
The wedding food was amazing and all the staff from the moment we arrived until we left were so helpful and friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable and we didn't want to get up and leave the following morning. I can not wait to come back and stay in the Clayton hotel, every time it is a wonderful experience.
j. d.
I stayed here fri 20/4/18 for two nights for my sister's wedding. From the time of arrival to leaving, this hotel and staff are just fabulous, The staff are genuinely lovely and will bend over backwards to make sure your stay is one you will remember😊 the rooms are huge, clean and just amazing. My daughter had so much fun in the pool. Everyone that stayed for the weekend are still going on about how amazing the hotel is. I am so looking forward to booking again.
T. F.
Reception staff were friendly but did not mention when we were checking in that our room was an adjoining room.
There were wet bleach (or some other cleaning product) stains on the carpet in our room that damaged our luggage.
Our room was big and the bed was comfortable.
There were no face cloths, body lotions or bottled water in the room which was disappointing for a 4 star hotel.
There was a good selection of foods to choose from at breakfast but the food was cold.
The breakfast staff were rude and unapproachable, we were not asked on either morning if we wanted tea or coffee.
We ate in the bistro on Saturday evening, it was very quiet but we were still waiting 30 mins from when we ordered our food. The food was disappointing and expensive, not the quality you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
Overall a disappointing stay. Very expensive for the quality offered.
M. K.
Fab food and excellent staff 👌and would certainly recommend .Compliments to the chef and our waiter Jo ..
E. C.
It depends on what events that are on in hotel or area, if its waitresses service or carvery. Today was a carvery. If the CHEF that was on today could be on every day, I'd have carvery on every day. Absolute pleasure to go in to. The way he dealt with us, and older, and much younger people is a credit to himself and then hotel. Food was lovely and fresh. More fish in da chowder would have got 5 stars. Keep up good work Chef.
S. C.
Service was good but the rooms were just ok. I'd say more of a 3 star than a 4 star - even by European standards. The halls were dirty, the kettle in the room looked like it had never been rinsed and there are no face cloths. Our room door also required special sequence of steps in order to actually close (slam + push + butt bump to close - then pull handle to make sure it ACTUALLY CLOSED). Breakfast was good and the main lobby is pretty. There was a wedding going on when we arrived and the reception is in the main lobby which was kind of odd but fun.
A. R.
Great room, very clean. Didn't sleep particularly well because of a noise either from a room below or a fan or something which was unfortunate. Check in was efficient, professional and friendly. Bar food was tasty and staff excellent.
N. H.
This hotel is really close to a grocery store. Room was very clean and modern. They had a cool swivel TV in our room. It had a mirror on one side and a TV on the other side. The lobby is beautiful and the staff was great. They have plenty of free parking. If come here again in the future
p. a.
Got a beautiful room. Receptionist Stephanie was a lady. On hearing that I was for the Galway Clinic next morning she booked a taxi asked about traffic congestion and had it sorted in a jiffy. Bed was very comfortable. As I was having surgery I could only have a light snack the night before but the way it was presented was brilliant
J. M.
Great Hotel stayed here for a week with the family would highly recommend
K. H.
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, and I'm not just saying that because I had my wedding reception here 3 years ago! Staff are always so nice, rooms are big and comfortable, food very good. Just a short taxi ride into the city centre.
C. M.
Lovely hotel to stay in. Friendly helpful staff. Stayed in a family suite/room. Room was a great size, loads of space. Double bed and 2 singles. Pool good but watch busy times as its bit small. Would recommend for family's
K. D.
Have to say was very disappointed overall. We were given a basic room even though we were staying for 4 nights for a wedding. Others in group got balcony room and they only stayed 1 night. Some staff were great, some not so. No residents bar which everyone was most surprised about. Irons in room were net to useless. Pity about it all because we were expecting so much more
D. B.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay. All the staff are so professional and nice. The facilities are superb too. It's great having proper Air Conditioning in bedrooms. Swimming facilities are great too. And all the food was great. Keep up the good work. I will be recommending to friends.
Lighter duvets would be a great option. I don't like them too heavy.
B. N.
We had a brilliant weekend with our 2small children. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, went above and beyond to make our stay stress free,at 6am coming to reception looking for milk for my son this was not a problem.the hotel was very busy being so close to Christmas but staff managed this excellently.our children were so welcome.
Well done to everyone, we are definitely coming back. Thank you.
J. R.
I love the Clayton it's where we had our wedding reception staff are really helpful and friendly food is good as well
m. c.
We were staying at the hotel for a wedding. We were blown away with the Staff customer service. The ease they catered for a very big wedding party was fantastic. Food was excellent. Our family room the 1st night was big, comfortable and clean. The 2nd night we moved to a suite (409) While it was really luxurious we hardly slept a wink as there was a water pump that kept kicking in throughout the night. It was so noisy that it actually sounded like a food processor being turned on and off all night. I did mention it to the manager the next morning who was very apologetic and offered us a small discount on our bill. It was the best she could do but to be honest we would have preferred the nights sleep. However I felt she handled the complaint well. All in all we had a very good experience at the hotel. One thing that concerned me was that the side door to the car park was left open all evening. I felt it was like an invitation to undesirables to enter straight up into the bedroom areas of the hotel, ie they didn't have to pass reception. Felt a bit creepy if you had to return to your room at any stage.
M. M.
We enjoyed every aspect of this fine hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were excellent. Our room was breath taken with a welcome greeting on the TV screen. The food was delicious and the self service breakfast was just so filling. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and we will be back.
D. M.
I've stayed here a few times now. Service has been quick, easy and friendly. Food has never been bad, the rooms are of a high quality and they make you feel like it is luxurious staying which it is. Keep up the fantastic efforts!
L. C.
Loved our stay here. Staff very friendly. Food was excellent and the room was superb we stayed in the family room which was a great size for 4 people and the cleanliness was brilliant. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was impecable Our whole experience was very enjoyable will defently b back . Megan on reception very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Clayton and this is a really chic, unique looking modern looking hotel. We stayed in room 455 the first night and i found it incredibly loud due to the fact it was overlooking a motorway. I noticed that one of the window panels was missing a second pane which i suspect was the cause of the additional noise. When i expressed concern to the front desk the next morning, we were immediately given another room on the other side of the hotel, which was very quiet. It is too bad that they hadn't repaired the window as I suspect I wouldn't have raised it here. For the reviewer that commented on the smelly dishes, I did not notice anything like that so i imagine that that problem has been resolved. This hotel is not close to downtown, so you will have to drive or use other transport as it is too far to walk.
M. G.
The room we had was lovely - we paid a bit extra for the executive room and it was worth the space for sure. The shower was massive - all 5 ft 3 inches of me could have laid out on the floor no bother in either direction and the shower itself was good as well. It was nice to be able to control the temperature of the room as well which can be difficult to do in some hotels. Breakfast in the morning was lovely with a vast choice of foods. The only little problem I have and I feel bad saying this, is that on the first morning at breakfast, we were seated in an area where the floor was covered in food from the previous occupants - not just a little but rather a lot and my chair was wet which I didn't realise until I sat on it. I'd understand if the room was busy but at the time, there was only a handful of people there and plenty of other places we could have been seated - sorry :-( otherwise I would have given five stars. However, the next few mornings, we were seated in a different part with no problems. The city centre is easily accessible by car from the hotel and the hotel itself is easy to get to and from as well which is also a plus.
M. K.
Overall this Hotel was very good, the Restaurant however could do with a few improvements. We went to the bar and ordered our Food and the Waiter informed us that we would be waiting for at least 30 minutes as they were very busy, a bigger selection is also needed and we were very disappointed with our desserts.
Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and very clean.
r. t.
The rooms were very good and comfortable.
The restaurant had a reasonable menu.
The hotel was very noisy due to rowdy guests.
This was made worse by the poor soundproofing of the walls.
The windows need to be better insulated against the noise of traffic
R. S.
A party of twenty people had lunch here some time ago and it was really lovely. The staff are so attentive and caring and the food is very good. It's a lovely hotel even though it's not in the centre of galway. I often meet friends here for lunch or just a morning coffee. I can never understand people who comment on the carpets curtains and decor of an establishment. What on earth has that got to do with anything ? Surely it is Comfort Food. Staff. Cleanliness. and Service that are important ?? The decor is a matter of taste and you don't have to sleep under the carpets or drape yourself with the curtains. It's a very good hotel. and the staff work hard
M. E.
The staff were so efficient & a pleasure to deal with despite peak Christmas party season & hosting two weddings during our stay we were still treated like our custom was the most important. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious & facilities were excellent. The only improvement we would suggest was a hot counter for the morning buffet breakfast as the food was just lukewarm.
Overall excellent & will definitely stay again
P. M.
One of the most organised hotels have been in for a nite away. Staff couldn't of done for us..My Niece had an amazing experience in it with Pancakes for Breakfast & The restaurant dinner was out of this world...from Starters to Dessert.....
So Clean & social distance is working 100%
Will Definitely be back for a visit.
P.s the 2 Ashlings on the Deck went out of there way to help. BRILLIANT STAFF. 👍
A. B.
Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Pool great, food excellent and reasonably priced. Lovely bar with music in the evening. Only issue was that the rooms need upgrading as worn. Overall an enjoyable stay.
M. N.
This is a lovely comfortable hotel. Checked in late and we were able to get food. Had the bolonase wow fantastic really enjoyed it. Bed was really comfy wish i asked for late check out. Next time it be late check out. The only negative i found was the sausages was very hard and dry but the rest of food fantasic
M. K. L.
Very nice hotel in a very nice town. But I was amazing how was the room and bathroom clean.
All compliments for the personality. I hope that I will came again sometime.
E. L.
Came here a few years ago and remember exceptional service. Very nice rooms, friendly staff and reasonable rates. The bar food was okay, not GREAT compared to other spots in the area, but it wasn't horrible either. Would recommend if you're looking for a clean, safe hotel.
D. R.
We had a brief stay recently for the first time and very much enjoyed it. The hotel was magnificent, the service excellent and the facilities top notch! We enjoyed a meal in the bar and the staff couldn't do enough for us, especially the children. The room was superb and extremely well maintained and kitted out ( including full size ironing board and iron). The pool and changing rooms were spotless and we were only mins for the city. We've already booked a return trip!
M. K.
Nice and clean hotel. Great staff. Clean rooms. Food was nice. Breakfast busy. Had no access to the pool. Far from the city center.
S. F. H. W.
I love holding my self-care workshops in The Clayton Galway. Conference room is always clean and perfectly laid out for my requirements. Staff are friendly and helpful. Beautiful lunch ready for my group with very efficient service. Look forward to returning with my next groups very soon.
R. D.
Stayed in a suite which was a good size with nice facilities including sky TV and Nespresso coffee machine. Hotel was extremely busy the weekend we stayed which is fine but could be uncomfortable for some people especially in the bar. Staff were ok as was the breakfast.
B. H.
We have been staying here for a number of years and everything is perfect from reception staff and all the staff of the hotel. I would just like to give a special mention to Stephanie she is always so helpful and kind. I would highly recommend the Gayton Hotel in Galway, see you soon.
S. B.
Great service, has our mini wedding there and the staff were more than welcoming and accomodating
D. B.
Our room was a bit small, and the bathroom cramped, but it was clean and in good repair. The breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing - bad coffee, hard melons in the fruit salad, and tasteless bacon. The staff was very friendly though and they had a wide range of options to choose from. We did not use the indoor swimming pool, but it looked great.
d. o.
Stayed in the secondary building (so the others may be different). It's right next to the motorway. The windows and glass are thick and keep most of the sound out, but you still hear every car going by. Clean bathroom and room. T.V. should be upgraded for the size and price of the Hotel it was very small. Restaurant food and bar is good. Parking is a challenge but manageable. Overall good.
A. R.
My husband and I stayed in the hotel at the end of August 2016 for our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival the check-in staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious and clean, with everything you could need (tea/coffee, toiletries etc.). A small issue was the grouting in the bathroom, which had seen better days, but was otherwise clean. Breakfast both mornings was top class, lots to choose from. We ate in the Enclosure Bar & Bistro, the first night, the staff were friendly, and the menu had good choices. Food was really nice and priced well. The second night we had dinner the Tribes Restaurant, again the staff were nice, however, for a non red meat eater (chicken or vegetarian) the menu choice was very limited. One chicken dish which had bacon in the sauce or mushroom risotto. I opted for the chicken and asked the waiter to check if I could have it with the potatoes and sauce from another of the mains. That was fine (albeit with a little eye roll, which did not go unnoticed!). Nevertheless, the food was lovely and dessert great. We then headed down to the bar were the entertainment was fairly good. All in all a good stay at the Clayton hotel Galway!
A. C.
Had a great time in Clayton attending Bradyfest. Very friendly staff, great drinks in bar, hotel is spotlessly clean, room comfortable, clean and spacious. Will be back next year.
V. P.
I had a great stay here. Nice, big and very clean room and a great breakfast.Staff and service were excellent! We absolutely enjoyed❤️5⭐
L. H.
Place was ideal, well situated, lovely rooms, fantastic staff, especially Sarah on Reception and Francis in the bar, but all staff we came across except a server in the restaurant, with a bald head (was it Tom) he was just totally unhelpful and obviously didn't want to be there, but apart from him - 10 out of 10 and would stay there in a heartbeat...brilliant. Also the cleaners always get forgotten and they did a fantastic job on my room, it was lovely coming back to a clean and tidy room...a big thank you to them :-)
A. C.
I am a booker with your Hotel, I recommend it to people travelling to our office, I also book meeting rooms for offsite meetings, I always find the staff very helpful, rates are always very competitive and food has been very good, I will continue to recommend your hotel next year.
P. C.
The hotel has nice reception area and restaurant. The room was spacious for our little toddler to run around. Bathroom nicely finished and overall clean. The single coloured carpets not great and in some places in need of renewing. Bed very comfortable with huge mattress for comfort. When going for a meal the bar area was unavailable die to debs so had to go to restaurant. Also reception a bit under staffed always a queue there.
L. C.
I got a corner room with a pillar in the middle of the room which was a bit strange, the tap in the bathroom was difficult to turn to hot as the bathroom fitting above was in the way!! I could also hear the motorway traffic which was disappointing. I wanted to get breakfast in the morning (I hadn't paid for it before) and I had to go back down to reception to get a voucher in order to get my breakfast which was a little annoying and unnecessary. This room was not worth €99. On the positive side the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The staff were nice.
D. D.
Really beautiful hotel in the heart of Galway city center. Lovely decor and food to suit every traveler or guest. We'll appointed rooms with stunning views over Galway's Eyre Square. Great coffee and friendly efficient staff
M. O.
Extremely friendly staff, Hotel room was very clean and great choice for breakfast. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend
L. J.
Very good for staff parties and conferences. Food is typical for the hotel, still tasty and we'll served tho. Staff very nice and friendly,, whole look is contemporary with some classic details.
C. R.
Stayed here for two nights. There’s a bus stop just outside which takes you directly to the city in 20 Minutes. Hotel staff very friendly. The bar had a nice atmosphere. Pool closed at nine, which seemed quite early so we didn’t have time to go to the leisure centre but a lovely hotel in general.
P. S.
The room was spotless and had all we needed for a comfortable stay. My son stated that the bed was the most comfortable he had ever slept in! The hotel was quiet at night even though there were wedding functions on. Darragh on reception was very welcoming and gave us very good advice about car parking in the city. The breakfast spread was excellent and catered for every dietary need. Every staff member was friendly and helpful, from cleaning staff to reception and leisure staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
L. O.
I stayed for 2 nights in the Clayton for a wedding I was attending. The first night we arrived we got food in the bar and the man waiting on us was so pleasant and friendly, I only wish I got his name! The room was spacious, comfortable and clean and the staff were at all times very helpful. Thank you!
R. F.
We were greeted by a very friendly lady at reception, which is always a good start.
The room was spacious with all amenities you would expect from the Clayton Hotel.
Good range and quality of food in the restaurant.
Would have no hesitation in recommending the Clayton Hotel.
A. G.
Best hotel Ive ever stayed in! Located about 20 mins away from the city centre, bus stop is right outside, staff advised which bus to get and from where. The staff were unbelievabley friendly and helped with anything you had to ask. Rooms were spotless and very comfortable to relax in, as was the bed. The bath and shower in the bathroom were huge, lots of space. A lovely view of Galway from the balcony. Overall a great place, I would definitely go there again and I would also definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Galway, weather its business or pleasure.
L. N.
We had a nice stay. The management needs to pay attention to some little details. A torn duvet here, a wet rug there. The water in the pool could also be a bit warmer but generally we had an awesome time. Polite and helpful staff and great service. Will definitely recommend it.
M. N.
The hotel and rooms were nice, but could be kept up better. The hall carpet was dirty and looked like it was soaked in water at one time. There was dirty dishes in the hallway all night and most of tbe next day. Our shower was nice, but not the cleanest. Did not like that you had to pay to use the computer and printer. The front drsk staff was helpful and friendly.
L. G.
I would give a four and a half... the half might be Corona Virus restrictions fault... for example having to book swimming pool, having to get breakfast at 8am.. but great typical Galway customer service
T. M.
Can't say enough about the Clayton hotel in Galway.. rooms immaculate and bed was so comfortable. Staff are amazing.. so friendly and helpful.. great bar staff.. Michael Connolly and co.. 100% I'll be back.
j. r.
Reception and dining room staff were courteous and helpful. Bedroom was clean and warm.
T. M.
Nice hotel but the rooms can be noisy due to traffic on the busy road in the back. Pool is used by the community for swim lessons so we were told to stay of the lanes...as paying guests. Good front desk service.
m. d.
The hotel is beautiful, clean and friendly staff.
Everything you need is available.
We would recommend the Clayton Galway to everyone.
My uncle who is 86 yrs home from USA found that his car wouldn't start
in the morning, staff got jump leads and were so helpful and kind to him.
We were attending a nieces wedding the day previous.
D. S.
Always a great place to stay, little on the outskirts of the town but certainly worth it. Have stayed here for business and pleasure.
P. H.
Rooms hard to find and lengthy walk. We stayed night of a concert. Bar & restaurant were booked out unless you had a set menus. Ate room service that was delicious & reasonable price. Shower over bath, treacherous to enter! Minimal highway noise, ok sleep quality.
S. O. C.
Our stay in the Clayton Hotel was just fantastic. We were only there for one night and I wish we were there longer! Room was fantastic and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were accommodating and welcoming and helped us out with taxis and food into the city. I can't say enough about the hotel only that I would stay recommend it to anyone. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay.
M. M.
Everything in the hotel was very nicely presented and the staff were always very helpful to speak to. Without a car it isn't the best location in terms of getting into town and the buses don't always run on time. Very useful to have a supermarket across the road. The room was great, the only thing I didn't like was the fact that the toilet comes out of the wall rather then sits on the ground and it felt like it was a little unstable. Great to have free wifi but sometimes it was quicker to use the phone signal. (Wouldn't have done if I didn't have an unlimited data plan). The view we had from our particular room wasn't great as it lacked privacy, looking straight into buildings next door (and when the 2 yr old keeps flinging the curtains open it isn't always ideal). We spent more than we wanted to but we were running out of available options and pushed the boat out a bit. I'd say the place is probably better suited to business, couples or single guests but it still gave us everything we needed and was a very enjoyable stay.
D. O.
Lovely food with my son, 2 nephews and mother. I had the burger and the 3 boys had the sausages and chips. We all enjoyed our lunch. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
s. m.
This was a last minute booking and so glad they had rooms available. The room we were allocated was beautiful, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was first class and so reasonably priced. We had left N.Ireland traveled to Scotland, then onto the Lake District down to Kent then over to Ireland stayed in Limerick. I can safely say none of the accommodation was anywhere near as good as this. Perfect finish to a great holiday!
J.
Brilliant hotel very friendly staff. Menu is very limited.
V. C.
This stay started with the most warm and genuine welcome from Stephanie on Reception. The Room was very spacious and comfortable, and even offered bath sheets, a big bonus. The bed was foam and very comfortable, and the breakfast was hot and delicious. Carparking was easy and the pool warm and clean. All jn all this hotel excelled and the best stay ever away from home.
D. B.
This is a superb hotel . Stephanie on reception is a true professional . Been a sales person on the road it always nice to know , that the hotel you are staying in after a long days work will look after you.
O. S.
We visited for some food and a few drinks as we live in close proximity to the hotel, but haven't gone there much for a relaxing evening.
It was busy. but had a very nice atmosphere, got a table within minutes and were attended to by a staff member throughout our night. He even apologised for not being attentive whilst he was really busy! He was really nice and the bar staff were also extremely courteous, a really lovely experience overall and would definitely recommend it to non-residents as a place to visit!

Hotel is an excellent base if attending the races. Very fast check in and room ready on time. Everything from the food, shuttle bus to the races, entertainment afterwards and breakfast could not be faulted. Hotel was sparkling clean the following morning considering the amount of ppl there the night before. Will definitely be staying again!

The customer support desk is responsive and quick to action. The cleaners also do a good job.
Their rooms are clean and quite spacious with very very comfortable beds. The environemt is also quite serene and has a bus stop right infront of the hotel to all parts of the city.
There are safes in all rooms too with an easy setup process.
My room for some reason has no refrigerator and as such no water which is a basic provision even in third world low class hotels. People arrive in the hotel with no Euros and are forced to buy water from a dispenser which accepts only Euro coins. Water in a refrigerator must be provided please.

We had once again another great experience at this hotel chain. We received especially good customer service from the front desk person Asling. We appreciate all you did to make our stay there so comfortable. Thanks very much.
L. H.
We organised an event for 230 people and the service was exceptional.
The food was brilliant and so efficient.
The rooms are very good and the location is great for Galway too.

Had a lovely time, staff extremely welcoming and pleasant. Had an amazing nights sleep very comfortable bed. Only fault was I thought there would be a fridge in the room. There is a cupboard with a vent on the top which makes you think it would be a fridge. Breakfast was lovely, plenty to choose from.
R. O. R.
The staff made it, each and everyone of the staff members we met were so helpful, friendly and nice in
every way.
Beds were comfortable and food excellent and we loved the little Irish phrase in the bar, it's nice to see
the Irish language being promoted.
A. M.
Delivered on all aspects required - Friendly and welcoming Staff and very helpful with set up. i.e. IT, Room Capacity in terms of facilitating social distance.
P. C.
Hotel was so welcoming and such a stunning building and very well maintained and so clean. There was everything there that we needed. Food was amazing.staff were amazing also. Bar and restaurants were stunning and had a homely feel. I will be staying again very soon.
H. W.
Great hotel highly recommend rooms clean and modern. The bar had entertainment on during our stay loved the place. The staff very plesent could not do enough to please.
R. R.
I am surprised to see so many people rate this hotel so high. The hotel is not secure. Anyone can gain access to the whole hotel from the underground parking facility without a room key. The Room TV reception was poor, the sink was so close to the toilet you needed to sit sideways or hit your knees. They have weddings on a regular basis and the music is very loud and goes on till early in the morning. I could hear the music from the third floor. The only reason I might stay here again is that it is very close to my work location.
C. C.
We were greeted by lovely staff at the reception and they couldn't do enough for us also there a fine size bar and the food was good there also, lovely breakfast and spacious bedrooms size too, bit out of the city but it's a short bus or taxi trip to go there, would stay here again 😁
s.
A very cosy place to dine n have a few alacholic drinks. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The beds are very comfable n all rooms have en suites. Very spacious. Quite too. Loved my weekend getaway
K. K.
We stayed for the weekend with our young son and overall had a very pleasant experience and will stay again. Our room was very nice, bedding and bathroom superb. Pool was lovely and warm, person on reception in the gym was very helpful as was the staff member who showed us the way (guy with a very deep voice). The food in the bar was excellent and I commend you on the stunning kids meals - good quality food for €5 for a main course.
So overall a very pleasant stay. Couple of minor observations
1. some of the young staff serving in the bar on sat afternoon could be more attentive, they were pleasant once you got their attention
2. at check out on sun morning at 10 there was just one staff member - I was in the queue behind a lady who was settling a bill for 42 people and had some queries. I waited about 10 mins and left. The lady on check in had preapproved my card so presumably you have charged my card. I assume there would have been a lot of people checking out on Sunday morning, so should have been more on and in the interest of good customers relations surely anybody who is settling a bills in the thousands should be bought into an office, with some water or tea rather than querying it in the lobby?
Regards
Kenny Kane

A lovely 3 night stay in a great hotel. Food & drink was fantastic along with my gorgeous happy birthday dessert plate. My 10yr old loved the pool as I relaxed on the sunbeds catching up on the news with the free wifi. We very much look forward to our next visit in the near future.
A. T.
This is a smart, well appointed hotel with correctly targeted prices apart from the beer and lager which is expensive. The food is good and reasonably priced as is the wine. However the billing or invoicing is poor because our food orders and bills were wrong both evenings of our stay. Not an issue because overall we paid a fair amount and were not over charged.
G. L.
We booked into the hotel last week for a family birthday celebration (Dad's 80th). From the time of check-in until check-out, we had a wonderful experience. Rooms were clean and tidied up each day. Staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of items. We had dinner on our second night and with 21 of us at one table, we were a big group. Our waitress, Toyin, was fabulous! We kept her busy and she was so pleasant, organized and always had a smile on her face. Loved the hotel and would highly recommend it to others.
V. F. (. H. C. Q.
Stayed here twice. Both experiences were fantastic. Staff, food, hygiene in the hotel was perfect....I'm removing one star though because of the lack of notices and signs around the hotel. When you get into the elevator you have to guess what floor your going to in order to find your room!
Reception and the underground car park are clearly not marked in the elevators so you must get out at a floor you think it is, look around and if it's not then call the elevator again! Very frustrating. ...
M. C.
The hotel was amazing. Staff were very friendly. Would recommend to book for dinner if you are eating here as we had a bit of a wait the first night but the food was amazing. Can't wait to go back
W. P.
We liked the layout of the hotel and the size and amenities of the room very much. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast (included) was very good. The hotel's public areas were attractive and well maintained. The room had several shortcomings: (1) The Wifi was awful – typically one bar, requiring multiple attempts to connect, dropping off randomly and frequently, and it was very slow – all in all quite frustrating. Management was not able to rectify the situation; (2) a burnt out light over the bathroom sink was reported but not fixed before the end of our stay; (3) the TV was not working the evening we checked in although it was the next day. Finally, location (somewhat obviously) requires a drive into the city center and a search for parking there if you are a tourist.
M. W.
Cleanest and largest room we've had on our trip. (Room 202). Huge windows, a small refrigerator, extra towels, seating area off the bedroom area, large bathroom, ample free parking. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful and the hotel washed a bag of laundry for us with about a two-hour turn around. Incredibly helpful and reasonably priced at around $13.
J. L.
Fantastically comfortable bed, spacious room with balcony, tasty and varied breakfast and a range of facilities. Who could fault it?! I definitely recommend staying here if you are going to be in the Galway area. Thanks to the staff who were friendly, helpful and polite.
D. O. R.
We had a lovely family room, 253, with balcony. The sweets for the kids were a lovely touch. Food was great, leisure centre was loved. Staff lovely, girls loved the kids club. The only fault was the weather :-)
E. M.
I can't give this hotel
A high enough rating everything was absolutely brilliant superb receptionist on arrival, we'd food 2 of our 3 nights there and the set dinner menu was superb, the bar food was lovely too. The carvers breakfast had an excellent choice of foods. The pool was enjoyed by all of us. The room was very spacious here ge bathroom and above all clean!!the one and only down thing I have is the price I was charge for a bottle of coors wasn't funny I'd have a case of coors bought for 80c more. Well done Clayton we will definitely be back, and highly recommending your hotel 😜👍🏻
A. S.
Thought the meal included in our deal for the one night was superb. Was offered food from the bar menu in the main bar, we were very impressed with the quality and the quantity of the food!! Was disappointed that the bar was not opened for 'one for road' drink after a pleasent evening in the town. We were back in the hotel at 11.30 and as a hotel resident we expected the bar to be open.
J. C.
We visited your hotel to celebrate my wife's birthday. We usual stay at the Parkhouse hotel in central Galway, but we decided to try a different hotel this time. We decided on the Clayton hotel for its amenities including the good reviews posted on trip advisor, its good car parking facilities, and the bus services available right outside the front of the hotel.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. Our room was lovely, the food was excellent, and most of the staff were pleasant and professional. Only one person really spoiled it - the barman. He may have been under pressure with the crowd of customers in the bar, but his grumpiness spoilt an untarnished view of the hotel. I've read other trip advisor reports with similar comments. We'll not let this put us off and we will definitely be back to stay again.
P. Q.
Thanks to all in the Clayton yet again you outdid yourselves. Keep it up. We arrived and were checking in and were asked had we stayed their before and we had stayed there a year ago on our wedding night. We also had our wedding in the Clayton. We hadn't the room door closed and we got a knock on the door and we had a staff member with a bottle of wine and a little note to say Happy anniversary. What can we say. It was a little touch but it was a very special touch to us. Thank you the team at the Clayton. :-)
R. B.
Somewhat outside the city centre but bus stop across from hotel made it very easy to travel to down town Galway. Lovely room, but poor view of parking lot/shopping centre across the street. Good selection for breakfast.
G. D. S.
Great rooms if you get a corner one. Staff where fantastic and our waitress Jessica was lovely! Very much paid attention to detail!
m. d.
Amazing hotel, such lovely staff extremely professional and friendly, bed room was so nice beds very comfortable, hotel in a good location only 20mins from the heart of galway city. Reception where so helpful when it came to anything at all such as buses to and from the city centre and taxi prices , any request made was done straight away with no problems and a friendly smile. Would deffently go back to hotel again as I travel alot across country ,would highly recommend to anyone weather its business travel or pleasure
B. 5.
I have to tell everyone about this hotel. I travel a lot on business and have stayed in many hotels but I have never had food of this quality before or been welcomed by so many happy staff. This was supposed to be a business trip for me. It felt more like a 2 week holiday. I would like to thank Connor at breakfast, Michael in the bar and Annemarie in reception for making my stay such an enjoyable one. Michael you pour a great Guinness. So to everyone reading this review please visit this hotel and witness what I did - great Irish hospitality and fantastic food!

The head chef in the Tribes Restaurant alone earns the place 5 stars!! I live in Galway and my boyfriend booked a table for Valentines night as there was a special 5 course set menu on offer. The choices were amazing for your average diner but I am one of those pesky vegans, so I made a call to the Clayton to see if they could accomodate me. The chef (whose name I forget I'm so sorry!) Called back straight away and I was so happily surprised at how enthusiastic and excited he was to cook for me, I love going out to dinner but I'm used to my choices being limited. He made sure that there was something delicious and creative for me at each course. Every dish was perfection but my main - a Sunflower seed risotto with a variety of garnishes, was hands down THE MOST AMAZING RISOTTO I HAVE EVER HAD - and being veggie/vegan, I have had many. This dish was absolute genius, it was creamy, nutty, with such a great balance of wonderful flavours, I didn't want it to end. (If you're reading this Clayton Chef - you need to win that competion) My sister will be staying in the hotel this weekend and I'll be sure to send her to the Tribes restaurant. Thank you so much for the wonderful food, I was on a high going home. We will be back!
A. Y.
This was our second time to stay at this hotel and i could not fault it. Staff were friendly and helpful, in particular the girl who checked us in she was so nice and even upgraded us as we are only recently married. Her name was Aoife. Although the black haired girl the next day wasn't so nice at all for front of house. But that will not stop us staying here again. Fabulous hotel
F. C.
We stayed here again for another wedding. The rooms were extremely comfortable, the bed is one of the best ever. From the moment of our arrival to our departure it was all very smooth, accommodating and a very satisfactory stay.
A. H.
Very friendly staff, quiet room with a comfortable bed. Would more than happily stay again.
G. F.
Nice hotel. Very clean. Spacios spotless bathroom. Breakfast was poor. Food was cold.
A bit far from the city center.
c. w.
Ate here recently. Got the roast of the day, which was roast lamb. Couldn't fault anything here, cooked to perfection, big portions. Staff friendly and attentive. Good baby changing room , nice and clean.
N. F.
Great experience there! The room was very clean and with very good beds! Liked the breakfast, with good presentation and variety. Would surely reccomend it!

Stayed here on a two night business stay on 28th and 29th of March. The room I had on the 1st night was on the motorway side and was a bit noisy because of all the passing traffic, as result i didn't sleep very well. Next morning I went to reception to ask for a room change and as expected, it was no problem and the receptionist offered to get my stuff moved while I was out working. When I arrived back that evening I went to reception where I met Brenda who told me that everything had been sorted and I was now in one of the executive rooms. I had no problem sleeping that night. I have written positive feedback's on trip advisor previously where I have described this hotels staff as the best in Galway and I want to say that again here. Whether it is Brenda or her colleagues at reception, the bar staff, breakfast staff or your house staff your people and their friendly, helpful and no problem attitudes and mindset are what make the Clayton my favourite place to stay in Galway. Keep investing in your people, it really pays off in the way they make us guests feel. Thanks all
E. P. W.
Had a lovely night on Saturday, a very pleasant stay. A special thanks to Brian at reception and Michael for his service at breakfast. :D
Z. K.
Room was hard to sleep some nights because of traffic, other reasons too.
j. f.
Our room was spotless and very spacious.
We were greeted by the lovely staff at reception.
The hotel was just lovely and ill definitely be paying a visit again.
E. M. F.
Lovely food and very friendly accommodating staff. Unfortunately the swimming pool is very cold everytime we visit. Couldn't let our youngest into the pool on last visit because of water temperature.
A. B.
Good for the price... However no fridge in the rooms, the tap has mini-showers for water savings that sprays water all around if you open too much, it's really not good, never saw that in other hotels... Price is quite low for the hotel quality, so it's ok...
A. A.
Hotel is easy to reach, room was clean, bed very comfortable. However we had a suite facing the N61, the noise was very annoying even with the balcony door closed specially at traffic peak times
p. a.
Stayed here with a few friends. Wonderful stay, rooms lovely and clean. Food good and great atmosphere. Ashling on reception great person to deal with as were all the staff
m. o.
Smart, good size rooms, even at the "best available" rate. Downside, the rooms overlooking the N6 have very loud traffic noise, this is only a problem though during the working day.
Excellent breakfast choice, including my "good hotel" benchmark, " fresh" fruit salad. Very good that fried eggs are cooked fresh to order. The bacon is thick cut and a bit tough and only luke warm, the sausages could be used as armour piercing bullets.
Staff very welcoming and helpful, a couple of small room issues went un-resolved, but we were compensated with a reduction.
s. g.
We have stayed here on several occasions and have always been impressed with the hotel, however this time was some what different. On Saturday morning during breakfast, the staff all seemed to be in a daze and took a while to even notice that we had sat down, on proceeding to have a cooked breakfast, the food was luke warm at best served on cold plates!!! I have never understood why hotels do this? I also disagree that the breakfast is buffet style rather than have a cooked breakfast when an order is placed. People pay good money to stay at hotels and should not have to accept lower standards. I have stayed at lower rated hotels and received a better quality of breakfast, cooked to order and served on warm plates. That being said the rest of our stay was good. I hope you will address this and up the standards of the breakfast menu.
S. M. G.
Room was not fully cleaned, rubbish in bin etc. Then I ordered room service, I waited 50 minutes and when my food did not arrive I had to contact the bar again. it arrived 1 hour and 5 minutes after I ordered. The final straw the next morning, no hot water and I had to wait nearly an hour for this to change which meant by the time I got to the restaurant with all the queues I was then running really late. I used to stay here every month but stopped due to bad service and bad food. I thought I would give it a try again as I like a hotel with a pool, not sure how many more times I will stay before I say enough is enough as there are plenty of hotels in galway to choose from. It is hard to believe now but this used to be a really great hotel in all departments.
A. S.
Great large rooms. Bar food is good. Gym is tiny like most hotel gyms but its unreasonably hot. About 25-30degreesC at a guess. They have a couple of fans and an AC unit in the corner that looks like it's from Argos. Unlike the rest of the hotel it's very half assed.
A. O.
Excellent bar food. Lovely staff. Swimming pool a bit small. Can be noisy on the traffic side of the hotel. A good stay all round.
M. R.
Nice facilities, but distant from almost everything else. Decent enough food without being exceptional. Solidly mid-range. To be avoided during the Galway races at all costs.
a. h.
Clean rooms, fabulous food, friendly staff all round one of the best hotels I have visited and all at a very reasonable price. I hope to visit again in the future. A big thank you to all the staff for a wonderful time.
V. L.
We stayed here for 2 nights during Galway Race Week. It was a fairly pricey stay but I think that is probably the case with most Galway hotels during this week. My sister is a racehorse trainer so it had to be a late decision to go due to the very severe cancellation policy. No doubt this suits people who are going regardless but we only went because my sister did end up having 4 runners.
One thing that struck us all was how nice , friendly and efficient the staff were. All of them without exception.
I wasn't too happy though with the attitude of one of the security men outside who refused to let our taxi through the barricades. Even though I pointed out to him that my mother, although not in a wheelchair , has a walking aid as she is pretty infirm. Eventually one of the other men let us drive as far as the door. I am guessing these are not regular staff members but they should be told that disabled people should be allowed to get as close to the front door as possible.
Its a small thing but it upset my mother as she doesnt like to make a fuss
Apart from that I cannot fault the hotel and it certainly is in a good position re the racecourse.
S. P.
Just above average hotel located near business park.
Rooms are typical with just one complaint. The water is chlorinated(treated) . Since i had stayed for one month, i had to suffer a significant hair loss. A tourist stay of 2-3 days would not mind this point. But that's a certain NO-NO.
Food is Good.
Service is Good.
Overall, for galway, this is okay place to stay with a budget of around 100 Euros per night.
E. F.
From the beginning to end of our stay it was luxury.
We got married on Friday 1st July and are not going on our honeymoon until November. We decided Tuesday that it would be nice just to have a night or 2 away to relax. So we booked a suite.
We stayed in 415 and it was luxury. From walking into the room we knew we had made the right decision.
Breakfast was fabulous and nothing was an effort for your staff.
We will definitely be returning for a visit again in the future.
D. P.
Rooms ok, bar and restaurant good, nice staff. Leisure centre photos were misleading. Very basic, 3 lane pool, basic sauna, no steam room, changing area tatty and damp smelling. Only worth about half what I paid for it.
S. S.
A Fundraising event for Galway Musical Society.
Well coordinated and run. Plenty of fun.
The bar staff were polite and efficient.
A most enjoyable evening.
L. O.
Beds comfortable. Beware if you prebook. Tried to make a call out and told phone not availableI Stayed a week. Floor not vacuumed. Room curtains and carpet stained. Hen party one night kept us awake and at 2 had to call downstairs.
G. F.
I could not praise hotel enough but the only spot was Joe who told my daughter to mind her child on the last morning at breakfast even tho the manager was smiling at my grandson playing as been a dog. He's only 3yrs old. I understand where Joe was coming from but could have handled it better. Everyone else including lady in pool and Anna who served us Sat night were great and made it. Will be back and will recommend it too
S. O. B.
The hotel was lovely, but wasn't worth the money. It was very over priced for just a room stay with no breakfast. Didn't like how a staff member walked into are room and reception didn't seem to bothered about it when told.
D. R.
Lovely room, breakfast was very good. Excellent food and service in the bar. Will be back
K. W.
Excellent food. The waitress were so professional and helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. Will be back...soon.👍👍👍👍
L. m.
We were very impressed by the hotel and your member of staff at the desk Darragh couldn't of being anymore helpful!! He was so helpful in every way possible! The only thing that annoyed us was we paid 35euro for room service and my girlfriends chips were stone cold and the pizza and my fish and chips weren't the hottest either but we didn't realise that till after she complained! And didn't want to ring again about them. But the woman who then brought up the fresh chips was so nice and older women with glasses she was so apologetic about the food! (We didn't get her name) but she was so nice. My girlfriend wasn't to request her money back for the food because we didn't eat half of it. but I told her to leave it as the staff were so nice about it! Anyways we really enjoyed the stay at the hotel over the weekend and thank you. And especially to that women and Darragh!👌
S. G.
Happy to add to menu options, service was incredible. Vegan options
C. T.
Clayton is a perfectly reasonable hotel with excellent staff and a great location for business travel.
Noise from the main road can be a problem and there is a bit of a walk from room to lobby but no major complaints.
Id recommend it to anyone.
D. P.
The room looked beautiful but unfortunately we had to go home because one of our children got hurt before they came to stay with us. Hotel looked fab. My be next time we'll enjoy the comforts.
D. R.
Beautiful hotel! Amazing service and amazing food! We stayed at a hotel in Dublin and we liked this one a lot more! It has great WiFi too
P. Z.
Great hotel near the motorway to Dublin. Very friendly staff which accomodate us ina perfect way. My wife and I have been upgraded in the Presidential Suite as we arrived late but we reserved a king bed. This was a great touch from the manager who was there at the time to who I send my personal thanks.
Hotel lobby and room were very clean and certainly an hotel that I reccomend even without the lucky upgrade.
The only downside is the wifi which I feel the hotel should improve in particular for business customers. Maybe we were just unlucky with the position of the room.
Many compliment to all the staff.
E. D.
Arranged early check in. There was no problems. Stayed in room 156 very noisy first night. Got moved to 169 it was great. Spoke to Dean he was fabulous we also said about eating in bar and our order wasent correct. He apologized and gave completely lunch and 20% off our bill.will I stay again. Yes I will. Thanks Dean it's down to u.
S. W.
Great service and food at the bar. Chicken curry was delicious. €7.50 for a glass of white wine seems a bit steep though.
C. M.
I have run two regulatory training programs for the medical device industry in the business area of the hotel and the support and co-operation has been excellent. The rooms that my clients and I have stayed in are very good standard and extremely comfortable.
n. w.
I've choose this 4 cause it's near Galway Clinic but I really liked it. The bedroom is large, the restaurant has good food and the staff very helpful. Good choice.
O. M. N.
Friendly staff. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Safe parking. Central to city and hospital. 👍😁
D. C.
We spent 3 nights at the clayton for my sister Rosita's wedding and it was just fantastic. Family room was way beyond my expectations so spacious and plenty beds loved it! I wanted to take the bed and pillows home such comfort! Paul "no I'll do that for you" was unbelieveable all the small little things like taking her veil after we took it off just made us all so relaxed! Food was superb! Room service pizzas amazing! Honestly could find no faults only thing I thought was the 2 tables at wedding after dance floor was cleared were way too close to the bar it was a squash and a squeeze but that's all would love to stay again! Many thanks Dianne
R. B.
excellent stay with friendly staff.
Would Highly recommend this Hotel.
I have stayed in a few hotels in the group and would most certainly put this property in the top 3
Looking forward to the next visit already
E. J.
Very nice hotel , not in a city center , what is perfect if you want just relaks . Very nice option is swimming pool . Perfect choice that no kids after 7 pm in swimming pool . Bar have good choice of beer , but choice of wines can be better ( especially if you are 4 stars) . Food was very nice . Overall I will recommend this hotel with my pleasure !
M. D.
Hotel well-situated to explore the region.
Very clean room, well-equipped (fridge, vault, electrical adapter...)
Leisure center very pleasant.
Only one weakness: sound insulation could be better (road noise) but it did not prevent us from sleeping.
J. G.
Well kept older hotel. Nice leisure area. Nice tea room. Good size rooms. Helpful friendly staff
B. C.
Lovely hotel brilliant buffet breakfast with plenty of choice really friendly staff from the minute you enter the hotel until you leave they couldn't do enough to make sure you were looked after

The Clayton Hotel Galway offers such an overall service that would well merit a 5star rating! No matter what you are looking for in this hotel, they will cater for you! Exceptional fuction room, fabulous restaurant with mouth watering food, staff that are so warm and friendly, lively entertainment in a classy bar and always the biggest welcome to Galway! Take a bow! You should be proud!

Very nice place to stay, staff very friendly, rooms clean and big.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious (buffer with all options!).
The spa is in very good condition but could be bigger. Unfortunately there isn't any jacuzzi..
m. 1.
The rooms are nice and well presented the beds are soft I would rather have a harder bed good pool area the only thing is outside of hotel seems to be very dirty good location close to city centre lots of retail shops around Hotel
L. S.
Great hotel, food value for Galway and lovely staff. Rooms were clean and spacious! Easy check in experience.
L. D.
Best bed in the entire 6 week trip. Excellent breakfast.
Friendly, courteous staff.
Gave great directions to sights to see.
Easy access.
A + score.
E. D.
Due to covid, very quiet, but staff very friendly!! Food in bar a little expensive, especially the desserts, but thats seems to be the same everywhere these days!!
G.
Nice hotel if it weren't for the lack of men's changing rooms for the pool when we stayed. Very annoying trying to get dried and changed whilst a queue of people are banging on the door trying to do same.
L. P.
Chloe in the bar was excellent, great service, very attentive and friendly.
G. W.
The hotel was very comfortable, the onsite facilities (laundry, food) excellent. But the star of the show really was the concierges, who were unfailingly helpful, humorous, and made us feel relaxed.
J. B.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Clayton Hotel. Room was very comfortable and service was excellent. Staff were very courteous. The food was wonderful.
C. G.
Our wedding at the Clayton could not have been more perfect. They thought of everything and Karina was so great and easy to deal with. Thanks to everyone involved in making it happen!
A. C.
Some lovely staff serving food/reception etc.but my god the bar staff are useless.20mins average waiting for a drink at the bar. 4 bar tenders serving roughly a drink ever 15mins it felt like. Brutal.
k. C.
Absolutely beautiful hotel very clean staff are very friendly .. esp cian on reception he's accommodated us to our every need , really enjoyed the weekend here we will be back.. plus the food is amazing 👍👍👍
L. C.
Good location, classy reception area . Friendly staff . Plenty of parking, nice bar food . Some rooms tend to be a bit outdated. Loved the extra large walk in shower . No views at all 😁
N. M.
Got the seafood chowder and had to send them back as it was cold, when we got them back they weren't much hotter. But they tasted nice. €7 for a glass of wine was a it much really
p. o.
Lovely room 420 balcony not very impressive tho. Couldnt get the heating to work and room was freezing. Everything else was ok. Stayed one night 23rd November.
K. H.
Staff extremely pleasent, friendly, smiles all round, no task too big or small, very attentive to your needs, rooms spacious and spotless.. food exceptional and kids menu great value for money.
M. O.
We were very happy with our stay in the Clayton. The room was quiet, which is very Important for us. Reception staff were welcoming and friendly.
S. O.
Friendly front desk and large modern rooms. Garage parking is an added benefit as well. Bar staff could use some help recognizing who they're serving.

Brilliant! What can I say... we landed in Galway and the hotel we booked didn't have our booking!!! (Moldron 😡) They wanted to charge us triple ad it was almost full coz of the races. So after many refusals the Clayton went the extra mile and put a bed in a small conference room for us and gave us a discount instead of fleesing us!!! BRILLIANT!!!

The Clayton Hotel is a good place to stay, easy to get to. Staff polite and friendly and the food is good. The pool wasn't very warm.

Top class hotel on the outskirts of Galway. Very easily accessible coming off M6 Motorway. Within walking distance of Racecourse.

Love love love Ashley! She was amazing to begin with and gave us lots of tips for the city! We will definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to the area!

Could do with a comfy chair in the bedroom unlike the hard ones that are there and staff could do with a bit more training at breakfast time. Please learn how to make pots of white coffee. They look at you as if you had two heads when you ask and then bring out black coffee

Very friendly staff and a credit to the hotel

Rooms are good. But location is too far from the city center. If you are in town for business it’s a good choice but not if you are in Galway for a night out.

We stayed here with my parents who had a hospital appointment and we ended up staying an extra night making it a weekend break. The hotel and staff were fantastic and a special thank you goes out to Aishling on Reception who was so professional and caring.

Lovley hotel worth the spend on the bigger room bathroom is huge heated floor sky t.v espresso machine separate living space to bedroom divided by a wall with a rotating t.v and a massive cozy bed and giant balcony

Bar needs a face lift. General repairs need to be actioned. Slow bar service. Toilets clean. Parking free. Just across the road from Briarhil shopping centre. Bus service right outside the door. Nice little coffee dock to the left of reception.

Friendly reception attendants. Clean rooms. Above par all-you-can-eat breakfast. The only qualm I have was the showerhead, which is totally a personal preference because many people like the rain style from the ceiling, which is what was installed.

Brilliant weekend. Was there with 2 small children and they had a great time in the pool. Beautiful hotel. Clean and fresh and lovely friendly staff.

What an experience, from start to finish. From reception to the room exceptional. The food was amazing which mirrored the service. I highly recommend this hotel.

I was here on a course for the day so I was just at the coffee shop and in the bar for food. The coffee is excellent. For lunch I had the veg red curry and that was very nice also.

My two daughters attend swimming lessons at the Clayton with Siobhan. They really enjoy their swimming lessons, Siobhan is an excellent instructor and the girls have gained a lot of confidence in the water and look forward to their next lesson. I would highly recommend Siobhan and the Clayton for children's swimming lessons 👍

One of the best hotels in Galway! A little bit expensive.

Conor and Paul cooked us two fantastic lamb shanks in the enclosure Bar, the service from all staff in the hotel and bar was brilliant, especially from our server, Peggy-Anne, who waited on us hand and foot.

Just food this time - but service was good, food fresh and tasty, much better that your usual hotel standard. Service was goid considering large wedding group just arrived. Will return. Handy location just on main road.

This place did the trick but was not the greatest. There is a pool but kids are not allowed after 1900. It is more like a lap pool and you have to wear a swim cap or buy one from the attendant for €3. The room had switches that were missing leaving holes where kids could stick their fingers. The front desk has limited Manning so the phone is not always answered.

The Staff were excellent so helpfull.Great selection for breakfast. The room was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. We would definitely stay there again would highly recommend the Clayton Hotel.

Bar had good Griday afternoon atmosphere. Comfortable customers enjoying a few drinks. Could be busier though
Toilets clean and stocked.

Good business location with typical bar food. Ideal for midweek break for business or family as very close to end of motorway. A little bit out from the city for weekend trippers and can b choked with traffic at midweek peak times.

Absolutely delighted with everything, from Stephanie at reception, the beautifully appointed and spacious room and finally the room service especially considering the price. Would definitely recommend.

The room size and the Facilities were great. Covid 9 restrictions well adapted. The food was pathetic.

We were on honeymoon and the staff was super adorable to us when they heard. Very nice, very accommodating. Food tasty, restaurant nice, bed super comfy!!!!

Lovely Hotel, huge bedrooms you could fit 4 people into but did find some clothing from the last occupants left in the room. Very clean though

Amazing stay with my seven year old daughter, my sister and my one year old niece, the beds were so comfortable, we booked a double room and it was massive. Can't wait to stay again!!

Came to have dinner on an evening when a 500+ deb's was on plus regular weekend busyness. Staff was overwhelmed but still very helpful and good service particularly our server Maura.

Great spot for a meeting with friends or a dinner after work, friendly service, tasty food and good location - close to Parkmore and Brialhill.
One thing that is missing is a safe bicycle stand, if you are cycling you need to spend some time trying to find a safe place where you can leave your bicycle.
Obviously the hotel has a huge car park but no bicycle stands...
The closest bike stands are across the road beside Brialhill shopping centre (usually full)...
Its a bit sad that cyclists are ignored when it comes to parking spots...
Come on Clayton management! Spare one car spot and put few bike stands - it doesn't cost much...

I will always stay here as my first option. Great, friendly staff, nice rooms and a warm welcome every time. Looking forward to my next trip!

Friendly staff. Clean comfortable stay. It was my wife's birthday, the lady on reception sent a bottle of wine and a birthday note to our room.

I stayed here on Wednesday the 23rd of November 2016. And on Thursday the 24th of November 2016 when I was using the swimming pool facilities in the Clayton hotel Galway a member of the accommodation staff came into the room that I was staying in on the second floor of the Hotel that I was staying and started cleaning it and when the member of the accommodation staff was leaving the room she took away a bag belonging to me thinking that it was left behind and that I had checked out early and I had forgotten my backpack but was using the swimming pool facilities in the Clayton hotel Galway and placed the bag in a maintenance room on the 2nd floor that is also being used to store lost and found property that are left behind by accident by guests staying in the Clayton Hotel Galway. And when I got back to my hotel room to collect my bag to check out of the Hotel I noticed that my bag was nowhere to be found despite me remembering that I had left it beside the bed that I was sleeping in near the bathroom and I become extremely upset. And I immediately went to confront a member of the accommodation staff that I could find on the 2nd floor that were cleaning empty hotel rooms vacated by guests saying that I hadn't checked out early. And my word of Warning to future guests thinking of staying here with their children, partner or on their own is to make sure that they use the Do Not Disturb sign on the handle outside of the Hotel room door or have someone stay in the hotel room that they are staying in in the event that a member of the accommodation staff comes into the room particularly in the morning time between 7am and 11am and starts cleaning it while the guest or family is in another part of the Clayton hotel Galway or gone into Galway City in the event that their property goes missing from their hotel room after the accommodation staff wrongly jump to conclusions that the guest or guests has checked out early. And when I was checking out on Thursday the 24th of November 2016 I was given a lunch voucher by a very kind lady working at the reception desk to use towards getting a free lunch in the Enclosure Bar in the Clayton Hotel Galway to make up for what happened.

Fabulous place. People staff food all of it enjoyed the stay. Man on reception had me in stitches. I would stay there again

Super impressed with all the staff during the Galway races. Hope the Clayton are looking after them well! Lord knows they truly deserve it

I loved the entertainment in the bar the night I went down -- a duo (Martin and Nessa?) did a lot of 60's and 70's folk and Americana -- not what I expected, but they were very good.
The room was excellent, the location was good, the staff were very friendly.
Thanks.
