L. S.Great standard of cleanliness and professionalism with a personal touch. The property is impressive inside and out. Jo and her husband went the extra mile to accommodate us during our stay. Jo's great working relationship with a local taxi company means you don't have to worry about getting back to the B&B late at night which was my main concern when booking here. I would have no qualms about recommending this place or staying here again.

M.A wonderful and memorable place to stay. Hospitality at it's very best from the moment we arrived to when we departed. The house is beautifully located and is spotlessly clean. Lovely ,warm and comfortable house and a delicious breakfast served in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Meticulous attention at all times and the owner could not be more helpful. Very relaxing break, with plenty of restaurants in the town. We were a group of 6 and arranged for a taxi to take us to and from Gorey, less than 10 minutes away. (Not a walk for dark evenings out on the main road). Definitely recommend the Railway Country House.
t. b.We recently stayed at the Country Railway House and were warmly greeted even though our arrival was somewhat late in the night.
The house is lovely, nicely furnished with very pretty grounds.
I was delighted to see solar panels providing green energy to the house and grid. A flock of chickens and two ducks provide fresh eggs for the delicious and hearty Irish breakfast. There are many options for breakfast, all served in a nice dining area.
Jo and Jim were friendly and helpful hosts, willing to take time to chat on a variety of topics of interest to us.
All in all, a stay at the Country Railway House was a welcomed, pleasant time. I would heartily recommend it when in Wexford and left hoping we will return before long.
K. H.Our stay was amazing, 8 of us stayed with Jo the night before my brothers wedding. Nothing was to much to ask. The rooms were spotless and spacious. The breakfast was large and tasty. All dietary requirements were catered for. We were allowed to have the hair and makeup done on the premises. Even the dog got into the wedding photos. Highly recommended

The breakfast was super (much better than the smart hotel we stayed in down in Cork) and the bed comfortable. My only criticiam was our bathroom which was not really fit for purpose but my sister's room had what looked like a newly fitted bathroom so I think the very nice Jo and her jolly husband are probably slowly refitting each room and hopefully no.5 will be next! I would recommend Railway Country House. It is walkable into Gorey although only just (and if you are fearless about traffic) but a hop and a skip by car.
E. M.From the onset this B&B exceeded our expectations; ample amount of space, fabulous food and wonderful hosts and staff. Very reasonably priced compared to a hotel yet we got more than we would if we stayed in a hotel room. I had 2 kids under 3 and there was ample amount of space for them, including ample room for our cot bed & we had our own fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. They are working towards been self sustainable & having fresh eggs & tomatoes for breakfast was a bonus. Highly recommend this B&B.

Our decision to have a break was very last minute and It was a pleasant surprise to find that the railway house B and B was a higher standard than we expected. The premises itself was large with lovely grounds. We were on the ground floor in the family room which was spacey and well laid out with a lovely en-suite. Breakfast was freshly prepared to order and all the staff were friendly and obliging. Gorey was a short walk from the house. We will be happy to return again and explore the surrounding area now that we know a great place to stay.
K. H.Me had the loveliest stay here on our first night of our Anniversary trip to Ireland. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful and our breakfast was amazing!! Even from another country, they treated us as family. If you are ever in Ireland, this B & B is WELL worth you effort to visit!!

The property itself is set on beautiful grounds, with fabulous views.
The house is beautiful, and is obviously cleaned to a high standard by Jo, Jim and staff.
Jo’s dogs are very friendly and will greet you looking for some attention.
Breakfast (which was included in price) was delicious, especially the black and white pudding.
Would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful guesthouse, and look forward to staying again sometime in the future.

The place immaculate, the breakfast was fab and only 1k walk to Gorey Town. Jo was lovely and very personable making time to chat and make us feel very welcome. The space in the accommodation was great with out own sitting room, a big kitchen and ensuite bedroom. Will definitely be back.

I was fully caffeinated after the glorious Breakfast as I accepted an offer of a coffee refill. Other guests also clearly felt 'at home' and this generated healthy conversations at breakfast and as one was coming and going. I highly recommend this B&B.

The breakfast was absolutely lovely with fresh eggs and berries from the garden. The front lawn was the perfect place to read during the day or to enjoy our takeaway dinner and a glass of wine in the evening! And it has to be said that her 4 dogs were an absolute JOY — greeting us every time we can back.
Jo also provided tips on what to do and see, and we easily got to Gorey town, Wexford Lavender Farms and Courttown beach on our bikes, while also taking a day trip to Wexford town by train. Thank you again Jo & Jim!

l. 1.Céad míle fáilte… Such kindness! Where do we begin. First of all, I don’t think Jo’s purpose is to make gajillions of euros. For her, it’s more like a way to meet friends that she hasn’t met yet. Her faithful husband, Jim, (her love slave)… energetically helps serve guests with efficiency and a very sharp Irish wit (alongside strong Irish coffee). In the end, they both work very hard to welcome guests into their beautiful home, as a part of the family, along with ducks, chickens, and their adorable little dogs. My advice… this B&B is an exquisite emerald gem on an exquisite emerald island, hosted by wonderful friends that you haven’t met yet.

The room was perfect for our needs and so comfortable and clean. We all enjoyed the animals and beautiful grounds which were maintained to such a high standard. Everything was spotless. Nothing was too much trouble, and the friendliness that we were met with was one of a kind! The breakfast and service was lovely. Food was delicious, and even the cup of tea on arrival was just a lovely gesture and very welcoming. We didn't travel with our dog this time, but with the option there, thats just a lovely bonus! We will be back again and couldn't fault The Railway Country House at all. Location is excellent also, close to all amenties and local attractions within driving distance. It was perfect for what we needed, a kitchen where we could clean and prep bottles and a seperate living room where we could relax in the evenings after our child had gone down. The house itself is beautiful and not to mention absolutely SPOTLESS!! The rooms are up to date and the beds are comfortable and come with all faciu. We enjoyed sitting out in the garden area later also it was so peaceful. We really enjoyed the breakfast it was so nice and we did not get pushed in and out we were left to relax and enjoy our food in our own time even though it was very busy. She even dried my daughters riding boots! The room was very spacious and clean , the shower was great and we even had a fridge! Very clean, newly decorated and refurbished and a great breakfast. located very close to the town of Gorey which has an abundance of great restaurants and family friendly bars. A real busy town, great buzz about the place.

From checking in to arranging to stay a couple of extra nights, everything was so easy. Jo is an excellent host who bakes her own breads, banana cake was the best I've had. First off the house & grounds are absolutely beautiful with an bonus of outdoor sitting facilities over looking the grounds, we enjoyed a bottle of wine outside on our first day 😉
Jo was the perfect hostess providing us with lots of local information regarding restaurant, sites etc
We booked triple deluxe room which was spacious, clean well furnished with a mini fridge & spacious en suite bathroom also there were 2 beautiful living/sitting room that we could avail of over looking the gardens
Excellent breakfast each day with great selection of tasty fresh produce & excellent coffee
It's was a perfect place to stay for us with our doggy and made our first staycation very special looking forward to booking hopefully next summer

The other staff members at breakfast were lovely and treated us like friends. Our room was very comfortable and quiet as it was in a separate building at the back. I can warmly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates a peaceful and home-like stay while on vacation.
J. K.Wonderful place. Jo the owner was very accommodating to our needs, we were nervous of the idea there were dogs and cleanliness, but the place was immaculate. My daughter needs a cpap at night and I had no concerns about dander. The place was spotless. My son played outside with the small dog by throwing his favorite toy and the dog went to catch. Each morning he also went to collect eggs for breakfast from the chickens. The location was fantastic. The breakfast was perfect. Everyone was so friendly. I highly recommend this place.

The location is excellent five minutes drive from Gorey or a pleasant walk home after a meal in one of the excellent restaurants which Jo has recommended. Will use this accommodation again.

The owners are really lovely people, extremely friendly, helpful & courteous. From welcoming pots of tea & coffee when we arrived to lifts to the venue where we were attending a reception, nothing was a problem to them. The rooms, while a bit on the small side, were very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was wonderful. Cooked fresh, really enjoyable, with a great selection of cereal & breads even some "home-baked" ones. I would highly recommend this accommodation

M. G.First of all we got the wrong Railway House. We arrived at one south of Gorey. We were welcomed with a lovely cup of tea by Jo and husband Jim, and kindly moved to a room with twin beds. We went out for dinner, but at about 1AM noted that I had left my cpap mask in Dublin. I could not sleep without it. We are away for two further nights. So cutting my losses made the 2 hour round trip to Dublin to get it. Jim gave me the code to get back in. I only got bed at 6. We had a wonderful breakfast of freshly cooked free range eggs, rashers, sausage and black and white pudding. Would highly recommend it.
No Jo kindly allowed me to sleep another hour seriously inconveniencing her cleaning programme, but it has given me a boost for the day. Remember this B&B is near a Topaz Petrol station on the NORTH END OF GOREY.
Another touch was that Jo did a full load of laundry for some Australian tourists. That sums up how they look up after you. Not a place for George Hook who is afraid of dogs.
L. o.Fab little boutique hotel, gorgeous inside, very clean and with a modern classically chic decor. Jo is so nice, can't do enough to make you feel at home. Best bit though, the friendly dogs that compete to welcome you!

Jo and Jim were fabulous hosts and so welcoming that it felt like a home from home. They went out of their way to make it a great stay. Their dogs were gorgeous and made a lovely welcoming party.
It was beautifully clean, very tastefully decorated but still very comfortable.
Breakfast was fabulous, probably the best full cooked Irish I have had in a long time.

Nice and absolutely clean and inviting rooms, very comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, WiFi reliable, extremely nice hosts and friendly dogs. We will definitely come back. The location is great as it is close to the pretty town of Gorey and great sandy beaches, and there are plenty of hiking trails nearby. It is about 1 hour to Dublin depending on where you want to go. But there are also buses that run constantly between Dublin and Gorey. The B&B is pet friendly.

Unser bestes B&B in Irland (und wir kennen viele). Schöne und absolut saubere und einladende Zimmer, sehr bequeme Betten, hervorragendes Frühstück, WLAN zuverlässig, extrem nette Hosts und freundliche Hunde. Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen. Die Lage ist super, da in der Nähe von dem hübschen Städtchen Gorey und von tollen Sandstränden, außerdem gibt es jede Menge Wandertrails in der Nähe. Nach Dublin ist es ca. 1 Stunde je nachdem wohin man möchte. Es gibt aber auch Busse die ständig zwischen Dublin und Gorey fahren. Das B&B ist Haustierfreundlich.
