My wife and I recently returned from a 3 day stay. We were very impressed with Hotel/Room decor, food and staff. There was a homily feel and a great buzz at all times. I would highly recommend you stay here when visiting Slieve League and the many other attractions nearby. We will be back.

Fabulous location, super friendly staff and very clean rooms.
The food was also tasty with a variety of different options. Definitely would come again!

This was the most wonderful hotel and restaurant. We were not meant to stay however our other accommodation in Ardara let us down with a mess up of confirmation we found ourselves with nowhere to stay and everyone was booked.
Then with pure luck after having a beautiful dinner in the Nesbitt arms restaurant we asked the hotel reception, where we found the lovely receptionist called Grace, who is now known as our amazing Grace!
She got us a beautiful room and helped us so much.
I cannot recommend this hotek enough for the comfy beds, to the beautiful rooms & wow what a breakfast!
Thank you to Grace, Gabrielle and Margaret for the most wonderful stay. We will be back xo
C. M.
Amazing friendly staff. Food is fantastic. Rooms very clean and will equipped. Excellent location. Easy to find. Will be back next year..

My own experience of my stay in this hotel was fantastic they went out of there to help me with my diet needs I am unable to tolerate wheat and gluten they had alternatives for breakfast and dinner their attitude to customers was brilliant the way they helped the disabled in our party and nothing was to much trouble would highly recommend them to any one.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Ardara Village. The room was spotless, spacious and had a walk in shower.
We ate in the Ramblers restaurant both nights. Great choices on the menu, the Guinness was good too. I'd recommend the chowder and the fish pie. We had great weather, so we were fortunate enough to get seats outside in the "sheep pen" ( a sheltered outdoor, seating area on the street)
The staff were lovely, all locals. They were a great help when planning our day trips.
The hotel is an ideal location for exploring the North East. Naran and Portnoo beach is 10 mins away, we also went to Sliabh Liag cliffs, glencolmcille, Bundoran, gap of Dunloe and sligo.
The village itself has a lot to offer. Great food, a few craft shops and great pubs.
We had a great time, we would highly recommend the hotel and just Donegal in general.

Nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast although not impressed with salad leaves on a fry. On the down side the room was quite small with just 2 pillows although more were provided when asked for. Unfortunately the shower couldn't be used as it was roasting hot and couldn't be regulated and there was no bath so we had to wash at the hand basin. Although management were apologetic the problem was not resolved before we checked out.

Blown away by my room, lovely boutique hotel, friendly staff and excellent food. Fantastic area stunning scenery and lots to do, will definatdly be back, highly recommend 👍

Chef went to the bother of making me an omelette which was served with garlic bread, salad and chips. Yum! Omelette perfection
M. S.
I never stayed over night, but I do know that the food is always good. We return year after year, and the menu options are excellent.
J. M.
I thought the food was excellent, but the customer service was outstanding, especially the lovely young girl who was looking after our table, a genuine lovely girl - who was amazing

Nice hotel. Staff very friendly. Fantastic breakfast
C. W.
Beautiful boutique hotel with newly updated rooms. Clean, and comfortable. Great breakfast too. Excellent location for visiting Slieve League Cliffs, Maghera Beach and Assaranca Waterfall.

Such a lovely hotel with the most helpful staff! I stayed for 2 nights and loved it. Great location also.

Staff were friendly nice room food was fantastic

Nesbitt Arms is an excellent location for relaxed dining with fabulous staff that give you that old fashioned gentle Irish welcome (Laura & Gabriel especially were really welcoming). Food was devine and we'll be back soon
M. S.
Old fashioned rooms but equally old style service. Polite, proficient and pleasant. Had a lovely meal in ramblers bar. Recommend the chicken curry, one.of the tastiest I've had outside of Leeds. The staff couldn't be faulted. The Sicilian white wine we selected from the list, one of the nicest we had for €20. Drinks excellent quality. Breakfast was satisfying although serious consideration should be given to providing individual cafeterias rather than a filter jug circulating the room and fairly lukewarm. Good coffee is important in today's market. The tea was a safer option.
M. M.
I really liked the food in Ramblers in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel.
Staff was really friendly and nice. They have helped me with selecting the meal.
I decided to go for fish and chips and the portion was bigger than I expected. For dessert I had chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. This was so delicious.
m. h.
Had fish chowder very watery wasn't impressed there was a lovely waitress very friendly could do with more staff
F. W.
Went Sunday evening for grub, and was not disappointed. Nice place, lovely food and great staff. Overall a lovely experience
T. T.
Very Comfortable room, food was really lovely, plenty of choices for breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Social distancing done really well by management/ staff. Would recommend highly. The area is beautiful, scenery is fantastic even on a bad day.

We arrived cold, tired and hungry without prebooking. We were quickly offered seats in the adapted function room; when we asked could we be accommodated out the front they checked and within jig time we were seated & orders taken, streetside in 'the sheep pen". Drinks and steak sandwich and fish pie quickly arrived, all faultless with friendly attentive service. Hygiene was impeccable. Faultless! We would have loved to have lingered but we still had miles to cover. Highly recommended and fondly remembered.
C. M. C.
Great hotel with lovely staff. Highly reccomended.
N. P.
Great food and friendly staff
M. D. B.
We stayed there Friday night.. The staff were really lovely and friendly. Food was good. And they were very helpful... we were soaked to skin after the hike on Saturday and they very kindly let us use the staff room to get showered an changed as they were booked out.. so thank you we really appreciate it
F. O.
Very clean, appears to be newly decorated, extremely friendly and attentive staff, excellent breakfast and a great bar/restaurant too. Couldn't fault one thing. Absolutely highly recommend!
D. H. W.
We were passing through Ardara, so we stopped off here for a bite to eat. Service was friendly although a little slow. We opted for the Roast Turkey and Ham and we were not disappointed. I went with Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert all were well presented. Everything was very tasty, we asked for an extra bowl of veg. We would definitely recommend you eat here if you're in the area.
F. B.
Stayed here recently for the Country and Western weekend. Couldnt fault it in terms of value for money and staff friendliness. Rooms were very clean too and Steak Night was a nice treat. Looking forward to coming back!
T. M.
Lovely spot for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
Hotel seems to have been recently had a face life. Very clean and presentable.
Bed was comfortable and a proper double not two singles shoved together. Room was of a good size as was the bathroom. Our room had no bath just a shower, not a bad thing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend to anyone
J. B.
Mum got a steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got a prawn open as a main and there wasn't much of it. Not enough sauce on the prawns. One small piece of wheaten bread cut in half. I could have ate three of the entire dish.
The cheesecake had a soggy bottom
B.
Lovely hotel & staff. Bed was shockingly bad. Every time someone breathed the bed shook, my husband had to sleep on the floor. It's supposed to be an enjoyable night away so extremely extremely disappointing for that.
U. M.
Nice friendly staff. Fish & chips just ok
C. M.
Lovely clean hotel rooms spotless new carpets curtains and freshly decorated. The food was amazing all freshly made with lovely vegetables and new potatoes. The first night there was enough beef on ours plates to feed the Mexican army or my Grandsons. I do think the staff took that on board for the following nights. No point in wasting food. All in all a super weekend.
M. M.
Spent a weekend in The Nesbitt Arms. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Had breakfast each morning and fruit salad was beautiful. Cooked breakfast was ordered and came quite quickly despite the large crowd on a tour. Veggie breakfast on the menu went down a treat! Perfect location to tour about Donegal. No fault with hotel, just be aware that the main street is a busy place after hours!
A. G.
Excellent efficient friendly &spotless .beds extremely comfortable with crisp fresh linen, food was very good
F. B.
Had a fantastic dinner with friends this evening, 30th September. The choice of food was brilliant, caters for all tastes. Their seafood Chowder is a meal in itself, absolutely delicious. I had salmon for my main course, again delicious with plenty of mashed potato and a selection of vegetables. If you are in Ardara, Co. Donegal, don't pass the Nesbitt Arms Hotel without calling in for a meal. ❤️
E. H.
Lovely food and very friendly staff best of luck for the summer season 2021
V. D.
Chicken curry was to die for. Warm & friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
S. M.
Staff pleasant, food not so good. Avoid the sea chowder.

I love this hotel. I've being going to the very hotel since I was a baby almost every year, and I still visit with my kids now. I've seen it change and adapt with the times and see new management take it over.... the staff are very friendly and helpful and will stop and chat with you at any time. The atmosphere has a very country style yet modern in the way it's deals with customers. The village of Ardara which it's in is an old town that is full of old bars and woolen mills and other local tourist attractions. Night life is all about the bars and trad music. Nancy's bar around the corner beside the bridge is one of the best bars I've ever been in. The scenery of this part of Donegal is breath taking. Ask in reception for the main ones but make sure to go off the main roads and explore. There is so much to see so give yourself a good few days to fit them all in. Only one thing to remember is the weather in Donegal can change fast, pack the rain coats.
All in all, this is an amazing place to stay in this untouched part of Ireland. Soak up the atmosphere of this place and enjoy.
W. N.
Great place to stay, staff great, accomodation great, only downside was the dinner in the restaurant, food was only avarage at best. Bit like Witherspoon's food, will do the job but nothing to right home about. Breakfast was exceptional, nice to have a cooked breakfast to order & not a buffet. Will go back but not sure about doing dinner again. Hope they keep up the good work & improve Ramblers Restaurant food.
T. F.
We dined at the restaurant, the food was quite nice. All in all a good night. I only wish that restaurants understood that the smell of disinfectant is really off-putting and needs clearing out of the area
W. W.
A very nice hotel in Ardara (the only one by the way). I was pleasantly surprised. The room was very big and clean. Staff very nice. A breakfast was the only small disappointment (that's why I gave 4 stars instead of 5). Food was ok, but waiting staff could not manage themselves with their job. The breakfast is served between 8 and 10. I recommend to come sooner rather than later.

Wedding at the wonderful Nesbitt Arms
We recently got married and had our reception in the wonderful Nesbitt Arms. From the start we had the most courteous and professional service from Claire , Liam and all the staff nothing was too much bother. Claire was always on had in the months leading up to our big day and communication was first class. The choice of options was more than anyone would need to have a great wedding day. On the weekend of our big day we choose to stay in the heritage room for the first night and then the wedding suite on the second , everything was perfect in the rooms cosy, clean, modern and spacious. We had a lot of family staying and everyone was greatly impressed with the rooms. On the day of the wedding we were treated like royalty and when we seen the reception room we were blown away by how well it looked and the work that had gone into it. Liam was on hand to offer us a private service and nothing was a bother to him, we also were treated very well by the staff at the top table to ensure all went well even getting christmas pudding for the father in law. The food was superb even some of the pickerer members of the family were impressed by how nice the food was. we danced well into the night and can't thank the Nesbitt Arms enough for making our day so perfect. Everyone had such a lovely day/night and if you are thinking of making your day special give the Nesbitt Arms a call and Claire will look after you. Overall one of the best experiences we have ever had and can't thanks the staff enough for making is so special. We will be back to indulge in the best boutique hotel we have had the pleasure of visiting
R. O. d.
Food great. Had the taco wrap, others had the fish and the nesbitt sandwich (with wheat free bread on request). Staff great, seemed to be genuinely nice people. Nicely decorated and food for 4 adults and 3 kids came in about 20mins. Highly recommend this. We did this on way from sliabh league cliffs to gweedore. Sorry no picture...too hungry. But nicely presented. The others said fish was lovely. They had a good way with kids too
B. P.
Stoped off for food or was very nice and good service

We were lucky enough to win 2 nights break in The Nesbitt Arms.
Liam the manager made us very welcome and was very helpful in suggesting places for us to see in Ardara. Our bedroom was fab!
We had a very comfortable bed , lovely bathroom with a great shower. We had dinner in Ramblers Restaurant, it was fantastic.Compliments to Liam and the staff who were all very helpful.Thank you.
A. B.
Fab hotel, lovely rooms, spotless clean, lovely food and staff are lovely, so pleasant, receptionist very Pleasant on booking in, Liam especially is a lovely guy, made us feel so welcome and took time out to have conversation with us, made us feel so welcome, we will definitely be back.

Central location and very pleasant staff, food good
U. K.
Loved the food and staff. Reasonably priced
S. M.
Basic amenities, clean rooms, polite staff. There's a decent bar downstairs, and one next door as well. The area outside is quite lovely. Really enjoyed the breakfast spread.
G. H.
Extremely overpriced food. 6€ for a slice of garlic bread cut into 3 tiny pieces or for 3 small chicken goujons. The roast was almost 14€ when it should only be a tenner especially when the mash was lumpy and the meat was dry.
Food came quick and the restaurant itself was done up nicely.
M. P.
Lovely staff, food and accommodation in a beautiful part of the world
J. H.
Great stay. Rooms were well appointed and clean. Quick no nonsense ckeck in and out. Food was good and service very friendly. Fair pricing too.
j. a.
Great place service with a smile staff look after you food is great well recommend

We stayed overnight in the Nesbitt Arms Hotel in the pretty village of Ardara, in county Donegal. The hotel itself was very nice. Receptionist (Clair) was warm and friendly, and very helpful. The room was a decent size (by Irish standards a note for North Americans). The room and the bed was clean and comfortable, with free WiFi and local TV. Free parking is readily available around the hotel and in the village The bathroom could have been a bit bigger, but functional nonetheless The room was very quiet. Overall I would recommend the Nesbitt Arms for anyone staying or traveling through the region.

(Translated) Great hotel!
Very friendly staff, nice and spacious rooms, great bathroom with a good working shower. The accompanying restaurant has a wide selection of excellent dishes. The prices are on the higher side, but after dinner, you won't have a problem with that.
(Original)
Prima hotel!

(Translated) 2 nights at the hotel but awful breakfast.
Room on the 3rd floor, clean, spacious (beautiful shower in the bathroom). Too bad there are 2 beds (large and small) in the room, with only 1 would gain space.
As for the breakfast, it was a great disappointment, the cook must reapprend to cook his eggs for the scramble !! Also the dishes have no beautiful presentation. Finally, on the 2nd morning, we chose to eat toast, no other choice neither French toasts, nor pancakes.
Too bad, because the staff is nice.
(Original)
