Had few breakfasts there, lunch and now dinner. Food was always fast enough, and good taste. Service is very good,young and polite staff. Always very friendly and with smile on their face. Very approachable and helpful. This dinner was very very good, steak was absolutely perfectly done and it was pure pleasure to eat. All the combination on the plate was just perfection. Buddha salad with chicken was decent, nothing special. From all the dishes I eat there it was my least favourite but still decent salad. One of the ingredients were avocado 🥑 what was barely put on the salad and my reason I ordered salad was literally just avocado as I had munchies that day to eat avocado. So wasn't my favourite dish. Dish that is not on the pictures but I had it few weeks ago was tortellini wrap with fries and that was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend steak or tortilla wraps.

Nice food, had to sit 25minutes before we could order from the lunch menu without the option of a breakfast menu, which I found strange. Pricey lunch menu. Found the atmosphere was quiet tense between staff & managers/owner. Felt uncomfortable to watch at times. Hard to go unnoticed. The young man that served us was lovely.

Really nice place to eat and stay. The staff is nice and warm on the reception, the waitersess was kind and even sugested dishes. The food is amazing, well cooked and diferent from the tradicional Irish restaurants we stopped by. Definetly recommended.

Excellent Irish breakfast option, easily the best in town. The bacon and sausage is very tender, juicy and properly baked. The staff is well mannered and treat the customers nicely. This is by far the best breakfast option in Athlone.

There are many reasons why the Corner House Bistro has been awarded the title of Best Soup and Bread at several agricultural fairs. I sampled an award-winning cup of butternut squash and coconut, topped off with home baked brown bread and fresh creamery butter. The combination was a perfect tonic against the wet weather outside. Based on the capacity crowd tucked inside at 3pm on a Friday, I am not alone in believing the Corner House Bistro offers the best late lunch in Athlone.

I only went there for dessert so can't say what their starters and mains are like, but what I saw served up to a couple across from me looked lovely. Two very nice touches were: as I sat down I was asked if I'd like some water and then when I ordered, I was asked if I'd like a newspaper. So on to the food: there were 11 desserts available and I opted for the creme brulee with icecream, strawberries and a shortbread biscuit along with a hot chocolate the dessert was lip smackingly gorgeous but I (personally) found the hot chocolate somewhat lacking in flavour and the reason I've deducted one star. If I could have, I'd happily have given this place a 4.5 or 4.75 an strongly recommend it to anybody.

We found the corner house bistro in Athlone, it was wonderful experience of how a restaurant should be run. From start to finish we were treated to a fabulous service from our host and the waitress staff. The food was fantastic and presented very tastefully. I was on the hunt for Granola for breakfast and came across Corner Bistro. What a lovely experience. The staff were delightful. I received a lovely warm welcome, seated and offered tea straight away and was given ample attention. What I loved most was the friendliness of the staff and hearing a lovely waitress sing along to the music played. And the granola was delicious! I left with a smile on my face - thank you for a lovely morning breakfast :)

visited the Corner House today with some very special friends from Dublin, Galway and Roscommon. The place was buzzing- the staff friendly, the food was really tasty and varied (my sesame chicken was delicious!). And there was an added surprise when the waitress brought us each a taster cup of beautiful carrot and coriander soup. All in all, a lovely way to spend part of your Saturday in Athlone. we ll be back!

I usually don't write reviews of places I've been, mainly because I'm lazy. This one had to change that. It's easily the best restaurant I've eaten in Ireland, by far. The presentation, the variety, the kids options, the service. It's not possible to flaw anything. When you plan soon to leave again Dublin, drive 140 kms to Athlone just to have another chance to eat lunch here, there's not much to add. Brilliant

This is my favourite restaurant in Athlone, in fact maybe my favourite restaurant in general. The lunches here are delicious and they cater so well for celiacs. Best to get a downstairs table if you can, then sit back and enjoy the delicious and beautifully presented food. I recommend the scallops or the salmon. Oh, and the roulade for dessert. ❤
