B. R.Visited Blas for breakfast recently. I really can’t recommend this place enough. Impeccable service from a very friendly and professional team. I was served good, honest, home cooked food which was very nice and reasonably priced.

E. D.One of the best welcomes we have ever received in any cafe. Both humans and dogs will feel at ease here. The staff is fun and they love animals. It's a family run business and you can feel the warm atmosphere coming from it. Great to see that it is a truly dogs friendly cafe as on arrival we were asked: table for 3? (2 humans 1 dog). Books exchange shelf is a nice addition to the place.

R.Food was grand. Egg was overcooked. It said on the menu “home made soda bread” which is what I asked for.. but didn’t get.

Love that they cater for celiac customers and even make cakes that are gluten free, great menu for vegetarians too. Nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend best place in Portumna. Majella is absolutely amazing and always smiling 💞💞

P. P. F.I can only say great things about this place where my couple and I had an Irish breakfast some days ago during our roadtrip across Ireland. The food was amazing, the service was lovely and the place itself is charming and invites you to stay for hours. Definitely recommended!
S. O. R.I am tempted to keep my experience of Blas a secret so as to avoid it becoming over crowded. But it would not be fair to keep it all to myself. Actually it can already be a pretty busy place. But busy does not mean slow. Service is always efficient and friendly. Majella and her staff have an amazing ability to work hard and fast and yet always have time for a little chat. Locals are known by name and may visit for that little chat. Visitors are given a warm welcome and kind attentive service. The food is good, simple, unprentious, freshly cooked and delicious. There is a great variety of cakes. Be warned servings are large! If you want a 'young one' serving you over- priced coffee and sandwiches using a script from barrista college don't go to Blas. If you want lovely food, good coffee (or a huge pot of tea) served by staff who care, to customers who matter then go to Blas. I love it!!

C. A.Top marks. When we went to the tourist centre in the workhouse, they recommended here and a place nearby. We ate in both. Portumna is a great little town to eat in when all you really want is good food and friendly service. Hope to be back someday.

I can't remember the managers name but she was great craic. Needed a pick me up after staying at podweinsteins. Some things in Portumna are nice. Some need to be avoided like the plague. Blas is great.

M. J. O.If you are in Portumna and in need of a good breakfast or lunch then Blas Cafe is the place to go, no frills attached but the food is good for the weary traveller the staff are very pleasent. The cafe is ran by a mother and daughter team and therr is always a bit of banter. Majella and her Mum have good place keep up the good work. The people from Westport would highly recommend a visit.
