Stayed 2 nights in the wonderful Queen Bee pod, with the most amazing hosts Siobhan and Willie John, when they hosted their first retreat facilitated by Anne Marie mcGlinchey . Fantastic place to stay, near the beach, but quiet enough not to be disturbed

A modern day WB Yeats could write poetry about this idyllic place. The Honey Pod isn't “The Lake Isle of Innisfree” - it’s an hour up the road from Yeats’ “bee-loud glade”; the “water lapping with low sounds by the shore” are the ocean waves rolling into Donegal Bay; and my beach hut had comfort and touches of luxury beyond Yeats’ imaginings. But the same experience of a place where “peace comes dropping slow” is found here. There’s even homegrown food and “a hive for the honey-bee” in this perfect wild Atlantic hideaway.
Attention to detail starts with carefully placed road signs from either direction along the fiercely scenic Wild Atlantic Way. That loving attention to detail carries through to the welcome basket, the simple ease and comfort of my beach hut, welcoming warmth of my hosts, and the secluded space to escape into.
I had my trusty laptop with me and took advantage of the excellent WiFi for a bit of remote-work. It’s easier to fall into a piece of deep-work with low sounds of the sea and birds about you. Zoom meetings go much better when you can glance up and let your eye flit along the Slieve League coast, over the Blue Stack mountains and rest for a few seconds on Barnes Mor in the distance.
My stay was too short but otherwise perfect. It was an experience to take with me in “the deep heart's core” as Yeats lyrically puts it. Thank you to my generous hosts whose love for their homeplace shines through. Most of us would keep it a quiet secret.
I can’t recommend The Honey Pod enough.

The folks at The Honey Pod were absolutely amazing hosts and made myself and my girlfriend feel so welcome and at ease. The location is absolutely stunning and the pods themselves are of an extremely high standard, you really can't beat the quality of service that we received and how enjoyable the entire experience was! We will definitely be returning here soon!

Amazing week. The excellent breakfasts set us up brilliantly for the surfing just a short walk away. The most accommodating hosts Siobhan and Willie John went above and beyond, providing a variety of freshly baked treats and catering beautifully for dietary requirments. The view was exceptional from the rooms and spacious communal area. The rooms were bright and the shower was fantastic. There was a great setup for surfers with the ability to wash and hang up our wetsuits outside with ease. Definitely highly recommended.

The Honey Pod was one of the nicest places we have stayed. The house is beautiful with amazing views of the beach. Siobhan and William are both incredibly friendly and helpful. We learned so much about the local area and beekeeping!! We cannot rate the breakfast highly enough which is all home made. We have already booked our second trip !!!!

We came to stay at the honey pod for a few days and I have to say that we could not fault the location , the service, and the hospitality. This is the best B&B that I’ve ever stayed in and nothing was ever a trouble for Siobhan and Willie John. They were friendly without being overbearing , they gave us help when booking the rest of our trip , and we even got to see the bees after tasting their delicious honey. The perfect hosts. The breakfasts were absolutely epic. Siobhan needs to write a cookbook! Would highly recommend this accommodation - better than a hotel any day of the week and exceptional service. Thank you very much and looking forward to our return visit !!!!! X

Fantastic B&B. Everything about it is great, from the home made treats that Siobhan bakes & can't forget about the honey. We had a beautiful big room with an ensuite. We stayed for our wedding anniversary and I asked for like extras (nice touches) which Siobhan & William done for us. Petals on the bed and bubbles on ice delivered to the door. Can't recommend this wee place enough. The breakfast was just lovely and the views over the beach. So peaceful. Will most definitely be back again.

The Honey Pod was without a doubt the best place I’ve ever stayed. The house is beautiful with amazing views of the beach. The rooms were amazing and really luxurious - so much care had been put into every detail. William and Siobhan were the most warm and welcoming hosts - when we arrived they welcomed us with prosecco and canapés as it was our birthday. They also helped us with every part of our stay - from leaving wood in a fire pit for us to sit round in the evening to taking us on a tour of the hives where they make fresh honey. I can also categorically say that you will not find a better breakfast anywhere - fresh porridge with homemade honey and raspberry coulis - followed by an amazing fry up. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The Honey Pod is an absolute delight. We stayed in a beautiful appointed and maintained bedroom that is both stylish and extremely comfortable, our bathroom was state of the art and spotlessly clean. The views from the house are the finest that my family and I have ever seen, and sunset was subsequently our favourite time of day at the Honey Pod. The hosts are extremely kind and accommodating with a fantastic in depth knowledge of the attractions of the local area that proved invaluable to us. The absolute highlight was the fantastic food- homemade honeys, breads and breakfasts that were to die for. Could not recommend more highly. We will be back!

This is a hidden gem. Location ambiance cleanliness hospitality home cooking to name but a few. This was like a personal dining experience Siobhan & Willie are exceptional hosts, they can’t do enough for you and Siobhan’s culinary skills are top class. If you visit be sure to try her homemade Granola & Eggs Benedict, they are delectable. Rooms & bed are spacious & super comfy.

Have just spent 2 nights here and can honestly say that I have never been so well looked after at anywhere I've ever stayed. Nothing was too much for Willie John and Siobhan - they were such a lovely couple, terrific hosts and great to chat with. I was there with my brother and girlfriends for our 30th and we were greeted with prosecco as a surprise on arrival. We arrived late so Willie John dropped us down to the local pub so we didn't miss last orders. The fire pit by the house was also set up so we could have a drink outside when we got back. The house has an unbelievable view over the beach and our room was lovely with a sea view, a massive bathroom and great shower. We started everyday with Siobhan's breakfasts which were out of this world. Had porridge with home made honey (we got a tour of the hives), followed by delicious waffles and bacon. The full Irish breakfast was also amazing. We were given lots of great recommendations for things to do and the area is beautiful. Couldn't recommend enough - we will be back soon !

Fantastic place to stay. Myself and my partner stayed in a bee pod here in Rossnowlagh and we were thoroughly impressed! The pod was fully equipped with everything we needed and more. The hosts Siobhan and William were extremely accomadating, we arrived extremely late due to work situation and we still received an extremely warm welcome. The location is great as its only minutes walking distance from the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the two nights and we will definitely be returning back. Keep up the great work 👍

The Honey Pod was a wonderful find and we would strongly recommend a visit.
Perfectly suituated just a few minutes walk from the beautiful Rossnowlagh beach, it offers stunning panoramic views over Donegal Bay. There is plenty to do in the area, we particularly loved the surf and the sea kayaking.
The accommodation was modern, stylish and very comfortable, not to mention impeccably clean.
The friendliness and hospitality of Siobhan and Willie-John was outstanding as too was the quality of breakfast. Homemade breads, honey and jams and a great selection of hot and cold options, all using home grown and locally sourced produce. There was something for everyone.
Breakfast was our favourite part of the day........but so too was the endless supply of homemade cakes and marshmallows.....!!
Definitely worth a visit, we hope to be back.

The Honey Pod is a real gem. Brilliant location overlooking Rossnowlagh Beach which is just a five- minute stroll away. The housekeeping is impeccable, the ensuite bedroom (with panoramic sea view) is totally luxurious and Siobhan’s and Willie John’s hospitality is boundless. And then there is breakfast ... be prepared ... freshly squeezed orange juice, porridge served with honey from their own hives and Irish cream liquor, waffles with crispy bacon, homemade bread, brewed coffee. This b&b is truly outstanding.

Absolutely stunning views matched with luxurious interiors and finishing touches in all the rooms. The hosts, Siobhan and William, couldn't have worked harder to make our stay any more perfect than it was and kept us entertained from the moment we walked through the door. From the homemade cakes to the exceptional breakfast (served with homemade bread made that morning!!) - this little gem, just a stones throw from Rossnowlagh beach, is a definite MUST for anyone staying in the area.

The honeypod was one of the best service we have ever received. Siobhan and William went above and beyond to make us feel us feel welcome, comfortable and have a decadent time. They laid out a special welcome with treats awaiting us as we had mentioned we were there to celebrate a big birthday - a wonderful surprise. Rooms are beautiful and luxurious and the view and location are fantastic - especially with the pit at night on the porch to sit out on in the evening! The food was sublime and worth staying for alone, particularly the special honeypod porridge was the pod’s delicious homemade honey. They were even kind enough to post some to us in London after we expressed such interest! Cannot recommend enough - we will certainly be back!

I am so glad to come across this amazing little find. Myself and three friends stayed for one night at the weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could not have been made more welcome.
Both our rooms were luxurious, each with a spectacularly stunning sea view. The accommodation was immaculately clean and comfortable with roomy ensuite bedrooms, which had state of the art power showers and free WiFi.
The owners went out of their way to ensure all our needs were catered for; supplying 5* care that we would simply never receive in a hotel. Willie John even taxied us down the road for drinks.
The breakfast was to die for. All the food was freshly prepared to our request and I can honestly say I’ve never had so much to eat in one sitting. When we could fit no more I. Siobhan offered us the homemade bread to take home with us!!
I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a brilliant base while in Rossnowlagh only five minutes’ walk from the gorgeous sandy beach and amenities.
I will definitely recommend it to others. It was such a gem of a find!
One of the best places I’ve ever visited and I will definitely return for a longer stay.

The most lovely place. We stayed in the bee pods which are very luxurious. Siobhan and William are the best of hosts and only delighted to give advice on what to do in the area. The food was delicious too- would highly recommend visiting!

Definitely 5* accommodation - beautiful clean and comfortable bedroom, dining room and sitting area.
Hospitality throughout our stay was remarkable from tea/coffee and delicious home made cake and carmel squares on arrival and freshly baked bread and cookies at bedtime. After a splendid nights sleep and a refreshing shower we sat down to freshly prepared orange juice and muesli sorbet followed by fresh home made wheaten bread and croissants accompanied by a full Irish breakfast and tea/coffee.
We were afforded the best possible hospitality by Siobhan and Willie and their future son-in-law and we would rate ‘The Honeypod’ higher than 5* and wish the owners continued success and recommend this B&B to all our friends and acquaintances.

Very nice, friendly and accommodating hosts, great room and great location with a view of the sea. The breakfast was also outstanding and more than enough with fresh homemade bread ... the icing on the cake was the picnic package on the go!
