First visit to the café today for tea. Was quiet (mid-afternoon Saturday) but it was a pleasant escape from the bustle of the city centre. Artist sitting in the corner creating art. Serving staff were pleasant and attentive. Will be back to try the breakfast, lunch and cakes. Note: Only take cash. No cards.

Siopa Gan Ainm Cafe and Farm Shop is very unique in Cork City. The owner is a farmer from County Cork. Most of the produce comes from his own farm. This includes organic meat from his own herds which is frozen at source. Free range egg omelettes. Big bowls of wholesome soup. Irish Stew. Salads. Sandwiches or a tea and scone. You can buy your vegetables, home made butter, cheese and live yougurt, juices and condiments like organic jam and honey. . Plus the best Sourdough around...very important to me!! I recently went back after being missing for ages due to severe illness and recuperation. The man of the house greeted me and I told him all my medical woes. Poor man. Lovely welcome though. Seriously this place is a gem. Read the paper. Or a book. Have a chat. Every Sumner there is a local music festival at the farm. Sarah Varian Barry MA MA
