If you like quirky this is a great place to visit..from the decor to the record player playing soulful sounds. The food was great...we had a soup a chowder and sandwiches and we took away some delicious brownies. 😋 Well done to those involved.

This is truly an "interesting" café for all the right reasons. Its a place you'd go if you want to try something that's a little bit different but outside the city . The first thing you'll notice as you enter is an array of awards on the outside wall. The awards denote a consistent and conscientious approach that has made this café popular, despite its rather remote location.
The cafe has been in operation since 2013, when two brothers Aiden and David set up a café in their dad's old workshop. It has a warm welcoming feeling, and one thing that marks it out is the vast array of antiques and memorabilia scattered throughout the eating area. Some are for sale but most serve to remind us of times long gone.
The menu is quite good, focusing on traditional dishes and incorporating both a separate breakfast and a afternoon selection. The coffee (cappuccino) I had was good and the accompanying toasted chicken pesto sandwich was a real tasty delight.
If you're prepared to travel a little bit, this place makes.. lot of sense if you're after something to break the routine of homogeneous city cafés. Would definitely recommend without hesitation and will be back.

Lovely place for lunch with outdoor dining and covid precautions. Beautiful suntrap. Simple sandwiches and soup. Range of cakes and coffees. Great, friendly service.

Wonderful, quirky little place!! Very busy on Saturdays, so booking is probably preferable, but we walked in and got seated fairly quickly! Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Fabulous array of desserts which taste fab! Large selection of speciality teas available too, and the food looked great also!
C. O.
Lovely way to spend a hour catching up with car picnic. First time here but won't be the last. The chocolate orange and after 8 hot chocolates are to die for!
N. C. E.
You'll love this place for the first time you see it. The decoration of the house, inside and out is just amazing, beautiful! The place is homely and cozy. I'd describe this place as a tea room. They offer different types of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. And their menu is small but they have variety of options that go from breakfast to ice-cream! It's a must go, worth the trip!

Wow I had drove past this place so many times. Visiting today was impressed with the space in the restaurant/cafe or antique shop... Had breakfast was very happy with the quality of the food and coffee is beautiful. The staff are kind and friendly.. well worth taking time to visit and relax in this unique place.

Location is close to the city but a feel of the countryside. Good ☕ coffee and cake choice all with a good home made feel to the place. Price wise not bad! But portion size really not all that big Bone China tea sets to beat the band and really not suited to groups of more than 4 persons. Ideally for 2 persons wishing for a chat and a good coffie and a quick get away from the city.
A 7/🔟

Beautiful food- outdoor only not very well laid out - no weather protection- food went cold very quickly
S. S.
A lovely lunch in a very eclectic setting. The decor is vintage and charming and the staff are pleasant and attentive. Would highly recommend

Came here for breakfast with a friend. Upon arrival I waited by the sign 'Please wait here to be seated', no staff in sight and after a while I went to find a staff member myself - all of whom were indoors. I would recommend having one staff member permanently outdoors so that customers arent left waiting and wondering. The lady who took our orders and served us was bubbly and friendly. Food was decent. Young waitress forgot to provide butter for toast, but not the end of the world. When paying you have to enter the tea house through the front door - i would change this to being able to pay at the customer's table just like you'd find at other restaurants or coffee shops. I was left waiting to pay for a bit because the staff were all busy in the kitchen despite seeing me stand there. I feel someone should've stopped what they were doing immediately and allpw me to pay. Customers are first, tasks are secondary - I was always told this when working in hospitality many years ago. Perhaps its something for this team to think about.
Not a bad experience overall and would consider returning again. Just a few bits to improve on for a better customer experience which would make all the difference to getting 5 stars instead of 3 stars. All the best!

We had a delicious breakfast/coffee at the workshop recently. It is always a treat to visit however may I suggest that one or two umbrellas be made available since alfresco dining is the way forward due to Covid restrictions. With our changeable Irish weather the risk of a shower or two is too high while sitting outside.
C. O.
Fun experience of breakfast picnic in the car. Fair dues to them for this unique way of keeping their business open. Its a pity that parking spaces are limited. It would help a lot if cars were parked properly also = more spaces.
A. M.
Love this place. Between the high quality food and wonderful atmosphere, what's not to like?
C. D.
Great hidden gem. The coffee was amazing with double shots as standard. The Sandwhich was lovely and the staff were very pleasant. Will definitely go back.
J. V.
Absolutely a gorgeous place to visit, such a warm atmosphere.

Of course in these days things are different, but still this place earns all my credits. Despite lockdown policies, it is worth visiting to have good coffee and a snack while watching airplanes on short final. This is priceless! How it is inside, I can‘t tell.
C. G.
Small menu but delicious food. Cakes are amazing especially the chocolate fudge cake 😍
Parking is available but this place is usually very busy so be prepared for a wait if you come at peak times
S. M.
Lovely food. Lovely staff. Enjoyed it immensely in spite of inclement weather ☘☘
V. O.
Got a take away hot chocolate and chocolate cake. Absolutely beautiful
S. T.
Lovely place, great service. Very quirky and chill. Excellent place for some coffee/tea, bites and chats.
Z. O. R.
Lovely little spot for lunch, the Terry's hot chocolate is fab! The menu is simple but effective and tasty for all dietary needs. Staff are lovely , although allow extra time for service.
J. B.
This place is so cool! It's my favourite cafe in Cork thanks to their quirky decor and delicious food. Their selection of tea is also fantastic! It's quite far away from the city, and can be difficult to find parking if it's busy, but overall a lovely place.
E. O.
Wonderful spot with lovely grub and mad decor!
A. R.
Lovely food and setting
A. B.
Lovely staff! Delicious homemade food. Very good coffee and generous tea pots. Classic tearoom decor but very homely. Cakes are absolutely delicious! Had turkey and cranberry sandwich and it was very tasty!

H. P.
Under current Lockdown conditions, they are serving food to people in their cars and calling it a picnic. The food was good and reasonably priced. Also it was good fun. I will be back.

Great place on a summer's day, beautiful food and excellent service, great company. Made my day
J. O. L.
My friends and I are regular visitors to the Workshop. We book in advance and are always seated quickly. The staff are efficient and very friendly, they always recommend nice dishes and the specials are great. Goes without saying that the food is amazing and always so fresh. Definitely worth a visit.
C. C.
My favourite staycation discovery and im looking forward to my next visit.I loved the vintage chic style interior and the food and coffee were great. There was a good selection of gluten free options.
C. P.
Cute place. Lovely cake and hot chocolate.
M. R.
Delicious food. Server was run off her feet, more staff needed to serve not just staff behind counter. Chowder was fantastic! Atmosphere delightful. Would have 4-5 but for lack of serving staff.
P. P.
Great food, freshly made. The cakes are delicious, try the salted caramel. The atmosphere is very much like a Victorian tea room. The staff were friendly and efficient.
A. D.
Such a quirky place. Food is amazing. Loved it. They need to advertise more as I had never heard of the place and only went there because of a friend. Off the beaten track so they really need to advertise. Loved it
I. M.
Tea rooms serving good food in a fun vintage setting. The service was great and the atmosphere alive. A wonderful display of cakes - chocolate cake was excellent. Would love to see a selection of fine loose leaf black teas, Barrys is fine but have 3 cups a day anyway.
C. O. B.
This is my favourite coffee shop/restaurant ever. The atmosphere is so cozy and relaxing. The food is fab with an amazing selection and the deserts are to die for. The staff are so friendly and welcoming it makes the place even more special. Love love love 💕💖
M. T. U.
Very good food and quality of service.
M. D.
Quirky cafe with good food and coffee. Old fashioned style and lit stove set a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Ample parking just outside the door is a bonus
e. c.
My first time here and what a surprise it was.Really quirky but at the same time really delightful.Every thing is of the past right down to the forks and knives. It's a door into the past...we just had coffee and apple crumble and it didn't disappoint. The outside is a bit rough and tumble but the inside is enchanting.
Y. K.
This place is must if you are in the area. Lovely, homely atmosphere, suchcheerful welcoming staff, lovely ambiance. Delicious food, great selection of teas. Glad we found this tea room.
S. C.
Very nice little spot hidden away behind Cork airport. It's small so you may be waiting for a table to free up, but its well worth it. The food was really beautiful and wish I tried the desserts. You can buy the various antiques around the cafe as well which is cool. Will certainly be returning.
N. M.
Absolutely fantastic! Food, coffee, hot chocolate & excellent service. Will definitely be back.
F. R.

Excellent food and super friendly helpful staff. Child friendly and they are providing car service during the pandemic 👍
C. M.
This place is great. Amazing sandwiches and cakes. Lots of gluten free options and the badger dodo coffee tops it all off nicely. The staff are friendly and helpful
j. s.
What a great place, staff and owner Aidan. Went in for a coffee and bite to eat. Asked Aidan a couple of questions because my grandfather was born in/near Ballgarvin. Aidan made some calls and connected me with the church diocese who knows the records of the area. It was a big help!
Again, GREAT food, owner, staff, and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed!

Great food, great atmosphere. Staff are so friendly. And the desserts are so so good!!! Will be back soon for more.
S. Z.
Great simple food using local ingredients and delicous choices of dessert, served in a antiques and bric-a-brac shop where most items are up for sale. Chicken coop outside is a good diversion for the kids too. Parking on site can be busy, arrive early for lunch if you can.
M. M.
This was an absolutely beautiful interesting place. Loads of antique items. Beautiful cups....teapot.
Fabulous place for a catchup.
The food devine. Had homemade soup and Sandwich. Gorgeous.
A real treat
C. L.
Had my baby shower there and it was only amazing. The attention to detail made the day so special. The food, scones and delicious cakes had us watering at the mouth. To Aidan and all the staff thanks again for everything.
G. F.
Beautiful staff , beautiful place , delicious food .
S. O. M.
Beautiful quirky cafe with homemade cakes and a great range of teas, coffee, hot chocolates etc. Definitely try the tapas plate and the rhubarb and almond meringue.
A. T.
OMG this is the cutest and quirkiest place! Great cakes, and hot chocolate, and I'm sure the food is great as well 😁
t. l.
The decoration was good. BUT the quality of sandwiches and tea were really low. The price was not cheap. So, you decide if try or not try.
C. S.
Definitely a little gem!! A lovely antique cafe with a beautiful selection of food and desserts. It's a lovely treat. It won't disappoint.
k. C.
Lovely staff, sandwiches top notch, had the steamed chicken yum
S. C.
Love this place, mismatch China ware. Had the nicest coffee cake here that actually tasted of coffee. Delicious. Quirky memorabilia everywhere.
H. M.
Yesterday was my first time up there and I was very impressed. It is quaint and quirky and a fabulous coffee shop. I really enjoyed it.
S. D.
You may ask yourself is this a mirage, right there in the out back a hub bub of: cars, people, food, art classes, coffees, teas, yum cakes, sambos and whatever you're having yourself.
It's got that Irish pub thing all head's turn when you enter: then you know it's real.
Fancy a bit of plane spotting? You got that too.
A sentimental spot to ponder.
Try it.
E. K.
Today was my second time visiting The Workshop and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, excellent food and fabulous atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place
