Reviews of Bite of Life
Came here for breakfast while visiting. It's a cute, fast, and friendly cafe. Super popular so it has people coming in and out fast, which is fun to watch. Loved sitting and hearing people order just "the regular." Ordered a beetroot and cucumber juice, americano, and eggs and toast plate. All very fresh and came out quickly.
Brilliant, cosy and quirky eatery. Real coal fire, upscale furniture and fantastic tasting food. If I lived in Dublin I'd be a regular. With delicious looking super size quiche, bagles and toasties and yummy cakes, choosing was hard.
Needing a boost I went with a super fresh smoothie of zingy carrot, apple and ginger. Followed by piping hot tea and salmon, cream cheese and salad bagle, which came with a fresh slice of lemon. It's the little touches that make places special.
Best location just down the street, half-way between the Christchurch and St. Patrick's. Nice, cosy & savory!! Very ideal to take a break & refill, after exploring either church to procede to the other one.
Cute shop, though small. If you want to eat in prices are about 1€ more, otherwise you can take away for less - you can sit in the St. Patrick's Garden across the street. I had the salmon bagel. Pretty good, though I would've put a bit of salt if I had it, and I think they should add more salmon.
Just called in for a sandwich between meetings. Very pleasent staff who prepared a lovely sandwich from a unusual selection of breads.
You can sit in or take out. Note. There is a lovely public park beside the cafe so either in or out you should go and try out this cute little cafe.
We walked past Bite and just had to stop in with how many early morning patrons there were. They had a great fresh breakfast selection and the coffee was also delicious. It is a fantastic quick/on the go bite in the neighborhood.
Great food and great service. We were able to sit cozy by the fireplace on this rainy day. Enjoyed my latte and crossaint.
The great hot chocolate I had in Dublin! The pecan brownie was delicious too. The place is very cute and the attendants were great.
The food was awesome but the coffe was heavenly. Thanks girls the best coffee EVER
Its a MUST if you come over in Dublin and visit St Patrick's cathedral its just around the corner from the cathedral.
Neighbourhood cafe. Simple and budget cafe.
Some areas can be improve to better standard. Overall is great for quick bite.
Great staff, good food and not expensive
Great little cafe. Delicious food and reasonably priced. The nicest of folks here too.
Live this place. A real gem. How many small eating places have an open fire in winter? There's also some eating out space, but limited.
Lovely food, wonderful soups in winter. Staff so friendly & welcoming.
Great local coffee shop. Had their double expresso, eggs and toast, croissant, and pecan coffee cake. 😁
Hands down best pizza 🍕 in Dublin right now. October 2021
I live near here but I’ve never came before. The breakfast was amazing, I went for the eggs with toast, and latte with apple pie. The attention was very warm, I really recommend it if you would like to have a nice time in a cozy place ♥️
This little bistro was amazing little place with its own century old wood stove in the corner to keep you warm on those cold days! The staff where so true genuine and sweet! Truly a little shop with a big heart and the food simply amazing!
Make sure to stop in for a bite! My daughter and were in from NYC on 28th February and stopped in after visiting St. Patrick's. It's a small place but the food and coffee are GREAT, atmosphere is CHARMING and the ladies are LOVELY.
We had a nice breakfast and coffee. The manager (or was she the owner?) was so friendly. I didn't get a chance to go back and try the warm Dutch apple pie and am bummed. GO!!! You'll thank me!
Really glad i dropped in yesterday. Karolina told me they just opened the day before, after weeks of lockdown. Brie, rocket and americano was tasty
This was, without a doubt, my favorite coffee spot in Dublin. This was the first place I stepped foot in when I arrived to the city & they treated me with complete class and grace. Their food is well prepared & coffee is great too! The place has a nice, cozy feel to it as well. They remembered me every morning when I walked in. I highly recommend this not only to the locals, but to everyone traveling to Dublin. It's conveniently located next to the St. Patrick's Cathedral. Step in & enjoy friendly, polite customer service! - Mike
This little place near St. Patricks is amazing for quick bite and a cup of coffee. I first visited the place as a tourist, looking for a place to warm up and get some food; the ladies working there are friendly and super fast with getting your order. Definitely recommend if you're ever in the area!
Stopped in for a late, light lunch the day we landed in Ireland and on our way to a touristy site. Split a salmon and cream cheese bagel and tea for our walk. The food was good for a cafe lunch, and the service was excellent. The staff behind the counter were helpful with recommendations and very pleasant to two jet-lagged travelers.
Always loved the Bite of Life . Hadn’t been there in years because my route took me away from them .. dropped in last week , and was delighted to see the same staff and atmosphere as 4 years ago ... great ambience , great coffee and proper friendliness ( none of that false bonhomie here ) .. must make the effort to visit more often . Oh , and also , they deserve an award from Tourism Ireland for the work they do in keeping our international visitors happy .. when you see a premises packed ( almost 50/50 ) with both locals and tourists, you know they’re doing something right .. ciao
Gorgeous food, local feel. I've been going to Bite of Life for years and now work across the road and am delighted to have such a good value friendly cafe with gorgeous food close by every day - Highly recommended
Gorgeous little place. I would give 4.5 stars. Great coffee and staff who were very good to me as I arrived 15 mins before closing 😎
Small, cute coffee shop that makes good food and great coffee. Only real downside is it's a bit small and a bit pricey. but if youre in the area checking out either cathedral, then it's worth popping in for a cup of coffee and a treat!
The food was delicious. My brie and veg quiche was particularly tasty. Would definitely pop in for lunch again if I'm in the area.
Wonderful little place that has amazing food with an even better staff. Reasonable prices at a prime location that is definitely very quaint and charming. Try the eggs and toast with a latte for a great breakfast!
I loved the feel of this place - a little bit old school, great service and delicious scrambled eggs. I would gladly come here again and try more of their food!
Lovely and lively tiny cafe. A hidden gem of Dublin. They have a great selection of healthy (and guilty) food and snacks. The staff are friendly and attentive.
"Heavenly" - Me, 2017
"Delicious" - My wife, 2017.
Couldn't recommend highly enough. Gluten free brownies are tastier than any any gluten full brownie you'll ever taste.
Nice ambiance, lovely host.
Really nice place. Try the "Fight the Flu" drink!
Good place for a nice and strong cup of coffee with a hearty breakfast. Can recommend the full Irish as well as the tiki chicken sandwich.
This place is such a hidden gem - oh my god! One of the best places for a Samo in Dublin. No frills, no notions, just honest to good fresh food and coffee
Very Very Good!!!! I have been here and I ate a very delicious food like sandwich and a dish of salad. I drank a very good mixed fruit juice. I Recommend!!!!
I ate here in July 2014 during my visit to Dublin. After I have visited the cathedral of St. Patrck, we are stopped in this splendid place to eat there. I must thank so much an Uruguayan worker of the Bite of Life, which name was Mariela and she came from Florida (Uruguay). In July 2014 I didn't speak well English and Mariela has helped us to order the delicious food. Thanks Mariela!!!! I would like to contact you.
Bite of Life is an authentic Dublin once-off cafe with fireplace for cosy winter lunches and right by Patrick's park for summer picnic fare. It's a Dublin institution where I once sat next to Jeremy Irons having his coffee. Not to mention the food which is delicious and wholesome!
Lovely and warm welcome! Tasty Salmon Quiche! I Highly recommend this place!
Fresh fab food served by wonderful friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere about the place. Always makes me smile being there!
Nice, friendly place. Quick service at lunchtime. Plenty of seating. Eat in or take away. Hot and cold drinks.
Lovely friendly cafe with lots with reasonably priced food. Ideal for light lunch and coffee. We tried the Apple Pie and coffee and it was great.
Very cosy place with lovely staff and good food. Can get quite cramped as it's often busy and queues are long. Also always packed with tourists.
A great little coffee shop (great coffee AND food) close to where we were staying. The staff were very friendly and it had a very cozy atmosphere.
Lovely delicious food, I had an amazing and inexpensive Granola and Coffee. A great place for a quick bite or a cosy chat on a rainy day.
Really good service excellent coffee would definetly recommend it 😁
Excellent breakfast! Coffee was great and orange juice too! friendly service also!
Since 1997 which says it all. Mod old school with locals from the Bayno and tourists discovering a gem. Get the Porridge. Always top music on their playlists.
Food is great here n it's well priced. Coffee n ham cheese & onion on tasty Brown roll not toasted. €5·80
Lovely friendly ambience with simple but well prepared food. Opens early but closes about 4pm. Still ideal for light lunch and coffee.
Really friendly welcome. Amazing food! Get the salmon quiche, it was the best quiche we've ever had.
Don't bother looking at the menu. Repeat after me: "Dutch apple cake". Nice and strong coffee too!

Great cafe beside St Patrick's Cathedral - lovely atmosphere.
Very pleasant little neighborhood café. The service is attentive and friendly. The portions are generous and of good quality. Perfect for a complete breakfast! THANKS.
Tiny and nice place where to have a good breakfast.
We stopped in this morning on our way to the airport for our trip back to Italy; practically 2 steps from St. Patrick's Cathedral.
It's not very big, like most typical Dublin places. There is a wide choice of meals, sweet and above all savory. Warm and welcoming staff; I would say excellent value for money.
It might be worth a stop.
Well done
Very nice and delicious porridge with banana and honey, but the rest also looked very 😋.
