Popped in during lunch time. Really liked the vibe and the food. Had a cup of hot chocolate and filled focaccia and it was delicious and filling. Perfect for a quick lunch. The service was quite fast and prices were reasonable all factors considered

It's all in the details. I just got a coffee and a scone but was presented with gorgeous coffee art on my flat white - a little bunny. It's also nice to have the option to pay straight away or after your meal. Bright windows, comfy chairs, minimalism design and most importantly, great coffee. Highly recommend.
O. E.
One of the best coffee shop in town. Amazing coffee, fresh and delicious food and cakes.
Friendly staff, good customer service and good vibes.
P. R.
This is a perfect little cozy place to spend sometime by yourself or with someone else.
Their coffees and sandwiches are delicious.
Also, the vanilla lime burnt cheesecake is a must try!!!
Highly recommend the place.
A. B.
Delicious cakes. Friendly atmosphere. Best coffee I've had in years.
B. R.
Popped in for a coffee and a cake, lovely little place, good atmosphere, staff were very friendly, looks like they have a nice lunch menu that we will be returning for.
S. A.
Very nice food and coffees..lovely spot as well.

Perfect for breakfast! I had the Dublin eggs - delicious! Two slices of toasted soda bread, two poached eggs, several generous slices of ham brushed with honey and mustard with a side of tomatoes and a pile of caramelized onions. Excellent outdoor service and pastries that looked delicious.
A. T.
Cakes were very tasty. Donuts and cinnamon rolls all excellent. Coffee was only so so. Lacked crema on the surface of the coffee giving the depth of flavour
W. F. M.
Had a late breakfast here and it was a super pleasant experience. The freshly baked pastries were delicious and the coffee reminded me of coffee in Italy. The decor is a bit plain, but I guess it allows you to focus more on the taste of their great coffee.
P. M.
Randomly walked by last time we were visiting Dublin, and we were so impressed we knew we had to come back. Everything is super good but the croissants are to die for.
F.
One of the most novel yet tasty breakfasts I've ever had. Lovely mix of meats and veg. 10/10
A.
My go to place for a cappuccino in Dublin!
Amazing coffee and food. Always with fresh ingredients.
U. R.
Lovely coffee, nearly rivals Valentino's (who has the most consistently good coffee found so far!)
l. t.
Tasty vegan breakfast. They don't have vegan options on the menu but you can take things off and it's yum :)
P. A. D. (.
Great authentic Italian brunch spot. Fresh ingredients, delicious freshly baked focaccias (best I've come across in Dublin), tasty sandwiches, fresh croissants and decent coffee (hot or iced)! Also did full breakfasts when it was fully open for indoor eating. Lovely to get takeout from and sit outside by the Liffey on a sunny day. Oh and there's a deli next door as well if you're looking to take home some of those fresh ingredients 😋
M. M.
Delicious homemade food! Friendly family run cafe, would 100% recommend.
H. H.
Amazing coffee and food. Loved the river view. The staff was very friendly and attentive to customers.
G. G.
The food was delicious I only went to get a coffee them I got the whole breakfast, really fresh the foccacia and squeeze orange juice and a really creamy latte. Amazing
R. O.
Top notch food. Italian eggs was great. The focaccia is perfect.
T. V.
Italian restaurant and caffe place. People like panem. Simplicit and quality together.
I tried beef soup with vegetables. Loved it. And there is a book corner where you can find some Hungarian book. Enjoy your time.
C. H.
This is simply a fabulous Irish-Italian bakery cafe where they produce absolutely delicious savoury focaccias, amazing pastries and lovely desserts. The coffee is really good too. They do the best croissants in Dublin - the ones filled with custard and apple are particularly good. I love Panem and their takeaway service during the lockdown kept me sane! Lovely staff too.
J. G.
Such an amazing find. The nicest facuca I've ever had. Staff were so good 2!
P. L.
great place to have a quick bite , my favorite thing to do is to order a take out and sit on the river in the morning :)

What a little gem, they’ve been in business over 20 years, so it’s about time I stuck up a review,
The owner is a total gentleman, and his family are lovely too.
They have expanded in recent years, which means there are more places to sit
The perfect place to come when you are wandering around or working in the city centre.
Practically everything is made on the premises
Tasty stuffed foccia’s, chocolate biscuit cake, cheese cakes, chocolate croissants
Great coffee( bigger cups would be nice)
But everything is tasty and different
I try my best to come here if I’m in town
And recommend it to people that haven’t tried it.
Support local independent business if you can.
A. B.
Gem of a spot for people watching in the sun of a morning. Delicious coffee and hot savoury breads.
Y. K.
Panem has two cafes in the heart of Dublin City. It's a perfect spot to stop by to get a full-bodied coffee that will delight the palette of a serious coffee drinker. A strong hint of smokiness is evident in the aroma and first taste. It's also a great spot to sit in at the end of a day of shopping in the busy streets of Dublin. Try out their crepes, delicious and very affordable. Great staff that really look after their customers. A hidden gem! Try it for yourself.
A. M.
Delicious real Italian pastries. Nice coffee and quiet. Friendly and real bakery :)
P. C.
This is a wonderful place for tasty home made focaccia and sweet treats. They serve great coffee too. They always make you feel very welcome. I can heartily recommend Panem.
Y. J.
Lovely place, amazing Coffee, nice People.
R. T.
Stopped in on the Bank Holiday Monday in desperate need of good coffee and I was not disappointed. The kind gentleman who was running the place that day was so charming and friendly and made me a fantastic flat white that really hit the spot. I chose one of the little almond treats to go alongside my coffee and it was just gorgeous.
I heard the same gentleman explaining the sandwich offerings to another customer as I was leaving, and he listed each of the herbs used to roast their chicken individually and I just thought - there's someone who takes genuine pride in what they do. Warmed my heart nearly as much as the delicious coffee :)
Á. C.
Amazing little place close to the heart of Dublin. Great selection of food and it's always made from scratch on the same day. They have lovely cakes as well. Friendly staff and owner. Best Italian coffee in town. I can highly recommend to anyone.
M.
The is an established dublin gem. Owned and operated by the same family since 1996. Giving the best authentic Italian coffee and food I have yet to experience. The service is spot on along with being so friendly. Cannot recommend it enough. They just expanded into a beautiful new space that is bright and welcoming while being great for people watching.
B. A.
The staff are all great craic, the service is fantastic and the food is unreal (I recommend the pavlova) a great little family owned business in the city centre - better to support local business than big franchises like Starbucks & the like. Big up Panem!
C. M.
Panem is wonderful! A lovely bright space with nice views to the pedestrian bridge, really friendly staff and best of all, delicious treats both savoury and sweet that you wouldn't find anywhere else, like the Queen o' Pudding they served there yesterday!
A. L.
Perfect little place for a quick treat or a relaxing drink.
a. p.
Great atmosphere, coffee, cakes and very light yet super tasty Irish breakfast. One of my favourite places when in the city centre on a weekend morning. The staff are very pleasant too!
S. N.
Excellent coffee, food, and customer service with a warm welcome always. The nicest focaccia in Dublin by far. Take away in operation during lockdown, can't beat it.
M. G.
Excellent coffee, good breakfast, thank you.
J. O.
My favourite coffee shop in the city centre. Everything is fabulous - the coffee, the food, the staff. Going to this coffee shop is truly a treat.
L. G.
Very nice cafe, amazing and friendly staff, absolutely perfect coffees and breakfast!!!! The owner kindly modified my full Irish by removing egg and mushroom and added extras of what I wanted! Thanks!! 5 stars well deserved
J. A.
One of the rare Dublin gem cafés with home made cakes, superb coffee and super friendly staff. Can't wait to come back to Dublin to come here again.
J. B.
If you want good coffee go here!! The coffee here is fantastic, fresh selection of cakes, very helpful staff and very clean. Easy walking distance from Grafton Street or Temple Bar.
R. G.
Delicious croissants, which are made from scratch on premised, also their foccacias are worth trying! Coffee strong, full bodied, how it should be, but very hard to find :)
D. F.
Always delicious, fresh pastries and focaccia for a very reasonable price, it's great for a quick bite at lunch. It's often hard to find a seat in this tiny place but it's well worth the wait when you do. Run by an Irish-Italian family this is really one of Dublin's hidden gems.
J. C.
Lovely coffee and food and the staff are great at sanitizing and wearing masks. But what's the story with the tiny tiny expensive portions of soup??
T. F.
They make the best coffee in all Dublin. Their pastry and sweets are just enough to satisfy. ❤
E. R.
Love their coffee, nice bakery products too.
R. M.
Came here because of the croissant hype, but would have to say I was disappointed. I make croissants myself from time to time and the croissants here were certainly fresh and buttery but very bread like, not flaky or airy at all, more like a croissant shaped brioche. The kind I get when something goes wrong and the butter isn't evenly distributed into the layers. Nice but not what a real croissant should taste like. I also got a proper old-fashioned cappuccino, although a little small. For both, it cost €5.60 (or 5:30 to go) 2.60 for the croissant and 2.90 for the coffee, about what I expected to pay, although I'd heard the croissants were 2.20.
There are no tables but a small bar with stools the liffeyside location and occasional sunshine make you feel as if your in some continental town.
Overall I would visit again, but for a fresh brioche or foccacia and the coffee. Then I might improve my rating.
W. H.
Best and loveliest staff!
Absolute favourite café in town with the best italian coffee and a free smile everytime I go there.
Thank you!
K. S.
Excellect service wonderful coffee
B. F.
Simply the best coffee shop in Dublin - opens around 8:15am on week days and it pays to arrive in early and get their stuffed focaccia breads straight from the oven. Real Italian food at it's best.
E. C.
Fantastic freshly cooked croissants that they even keep warm for you. Addicted to this place, consistently delicious and great family feel to the premises.
100% recommended.
C. M.
Awesome customer service. Food was excellent
D. O.
A family run cafė. Always great coffee, the granola is super tasty and healthy, staff are friendly and helpful.
M. F.
Homemade brioches, focaccia etc. Food is very good. Pricey. They keep the bike inside the bar, why? Could have been a five star!
J. D.
The stuffed focaccia here is delicious! The espresso is food as well. The service is very nice.
T. H. M.
It's more of a food to go kinda place as its a really small shop. I only found out about it -as I was walking by and couldn't resist the smell of fresh pastries. Had one of the foccacias and it was the best I had in years. So good.
B. B.
I had mostly negative experience. Place was very crowded and the restaurant was clearly understaffed to handle it.
Food was ok, not great and not the best value for the price. Part of my order (orange juice) got forgotten.
A. F. W.
Probably the best coffee shop around. Really good quick food to eat in or grab to go. They make special foccacia's for each day of the week so there's always a great variety.
M. D.
Real homemade with love food made by a real Italian small family business. Great breakfast. Tiny place you'd almost pass it by. Unfortunately on a busy street right on the Quays but couldn't be more central- just over the Millenium bridge.
C. T.
My favourite place for breakfast this place is the best. All the food is yummy and the staff there are so friendly :)
A. M.
Coffee and pastries to die for. Must visit in Dublin
R. K.
Hot chocolate is top notch. Pastries and cakes also. Some seats inside but it's cramped. It's right beside the river though so great place to grab a takeaway and sit on the boardwalk.
D. F.
Fantastic authentic Italian coffee & cheesecake to die for. Outstanding service from an independent retailer that has stayed true to their roots
G. S. D.
This place is a hidden gem in Dublin. Great pastries and coffee. I recommend the lasagna and tomato soup and the coffee cake.
J. F.
A very good restaurant with a very high standard on food which is always freshly prepared on the premises with an unique menu.
C. C. O.
Freshly made focaccia, amazing taste. Coffee is great too, perfect for lunch or a quick bite.
A. T.
Great focaccia, not too heavy and wonderful staff.
M. H.
I've been to the liffey-side location and the arnotts coffee shop. The coffee is rather hit or miss and I've had to return it on one occasion as it was so poor. Staff have always been friendly.
S. B.
The spinach, cheese, and olive focaccia is as good as anything you'll eat anywhere. Visited the Arnotts location and it's as good as the original. A real treasure.
J. L.
Lovely atmosphere with a view of the Liffey. A unique selection of cakes and pastries. Somewhere nice for a treat!
