Reviews of The Pieman Cafe
Lovely people, deadly pies! 😍
The pies had a wonderfully flaky crust, and you can just tell they were freshly made. The gravy topper was recommended and did not disappoint. The people were warm and friendly, and made us feel right at home! We ate til we were full and still couldn't help but get a few sausage rolls to go... I could go on, but I just made myself hungry so I'll see you there!
Amazing home made pies. Mash is my recommended side and they even have a range of vegan and vegetarian pastry based options!
Fantastic pies, and just like everyone else, I would also recommend the Guinness pie. The cafe also offers a very generous student lunch discount.
Decent pricing and good selection.
Found on the last few visits the pies were dryer as in the filling had lost any sign of gravy. Gravey can be added to the order for free but its not the same.
Mash was kinda stodgy and not the best but over all it filled a gap.
Will visit and review score in future.
Decent pie and mash with gravy. We ordered the steak and guinness pie and it was tasty. Service was excellent and they even served the one one separately because we were sharing.
Unfortunately the Pieman seems to be permanently closed - there were no furnishings visible, only empty space. We didn’t have a chance to taste any of the food.
A really good Guinness and steak pie, I highly recommend taking 2 sides. And the vegan carrot cake is very good, couldn't quite believe it was vegan
I've tried the famous "Guinness beef pie" and that was awesome! Pie well cooked, the sauce was really tasty and the side was good. Good pie experience in Dublin. Loved it!
Small cafe that serves pie and craft beer in bottle in Temple bar. A nice respite from the crowds in Temple bar. Quick service and decent crust on the pie.
Super good meatpies! Good prices too. Make sure you get a side of potatoes too. It's worth it.
Yummy and cheap 'Beef and Guinness Pie'. Small place to eat inside. Very nice.
I used to come here about once a week after work, would order a pie and read for an hour before heading home. It's a nice quiet cafe, which is a nice place to go if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of city centre (especially Temple Bar). The staff were also very friendly and the pies of course were delicious and filling
Paid €9.50 for this delicious Guiness and Meat pie, mashed potatoes side and a soda. Really recommend this place!
Demolished the pie so pretty good. Not as good as the pies back home but that is personal preference. I suggest the guiness pie, so good.
Absolutely wonderful!
Utterly delicious pies, very fresh, mind-blowing veggie gravy and excellent mash. Had the feta sweet potato pie and it was brilliant.
Very friendly atmosphere, perfect for a true Dublin quick bite.
Good selection of pies. Caters for vegans too. Very unassuming, definitely worth a visit.
This is the second time of visiting the pieman. Just as good as the first. Reasonably priced given its central to Temple Bar
Pies were very tasty!! Really recommended
A really great, quaint little pie shop, with even better prices. Especially for the location. All the pies are good, depending on your personal tastes. You do have the option to have both smashed peas and smashed potatoes: half and half. Do try the gravy.
After a pie, try a brownie. They serve it hot, and it's amazing. Option of ice cream, cream, or both.
Great Irish Pie! It's similar to a pot pie in the United States! Great flavor, and the food was piping hot! I'm sure all the flavors were great, we went with the Chicken, Leek, and Cheddar pie
Great Pies, genuine homemade beautiful crust and filled with tasty fillings! 🔥
We made this our first stop in Dublin and had a delicious lunch. Decided to return on our last day as well. Great value for $ and best meat pie and mashed potatoes I've ever had!
Stumbled across this little cafe by accident and so pleased I did. I had what is quite possibly the best pie I've ever had. Great taste and for a decent price along with a tasty Irish beer. Shame so many are flocking for the nearby chains rather than coming here!
If you've walked around Temple Bar recently you may have noticed a quaint little pie shop. Although surrounded by bigger restaurants and pubs this place always seems packed with customers.
It's as simple as it seems - you pick a pie and you eat it. You don't get any of that fancy starter, main, dessert malarkey (although they do have sides...). The pies themselves are quite nice from my experience thankfully.
If you're looking for a place for a quick and cheap bite to eat in Temple Bar then this is probably the place for you.
Loved the pies, the coffee and the staff. The place is just perfect to recharge your batteries before you go out to one of the pubs around our just to enjoy the friendliest staff ever. Is also worth of mention that the prices are so low that you can't imagine how they survive in a location like this. Keep up the good work.
The most delicious savory pies I've ever had. First had them at castlepalooza at their festival food stand about 5 years ago. Just as good today as they ever were
For sure the best pies in Dublin, a nice verity of fresh and homemade pies for a great price. The place is small but cosy. If you looking for an inexpensive, simple, quick and super tasty place for lunch this should definitely be at the top of your list.
Good place to eat. I wasn't convinced at first but pies were actually tasty. The owner was very cordial and patient with us tourists, we appreciated the hospitality. Prices were also reasonable compared to other places in the area.
very good pie and gravy.
I think that it fits the taste of the Japanese people.
My partner enjoyed a pie while I had a coffee. He says he quite enjoyed it. The proprietor was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Excellent food, location and service! You really get a lot for your money here. I had the roast chicken and sausage pie with gravy and it was phenomenal. If you’re in the temple bar area visiting this place is a must.
I have eaten here twice on two separate trips to Dublin. Each time the food was warm and filling. I am a big fan of the beef pies with a side of mushy peas. Just be careful because they only accept cash.
What a pie. Had the Guinness and the chicken in white sauce. Loved both. The crust was flakey, the meat portions were decent and the flavor was intense and delightful.
Solid find 👌🏽
Always try to go here for my Guinness stew pie when I am in Dublin. Loving this small hidden gem. Thank you for this grand food for a reasonable price.
Guinness and meat pie...Was awesome. Sean was a cool dude.
Great service very friendly. Great pies.
Cheap and nice place to taste the typical Pie in Ireland. You have a better price if you show your student's card. You can lunch for 10 euros.
Doesn’t appear to be open anymore although their hours listed here on maps said they were open.
Really nice spot off Temple bar with great prices. Did not love the mashed potatoes but I probably should have gotten gravy like everyone else. Really delicious banoffee and the girl working was lovely.
Amazing pies. Very tasty. Staff is also very helpful and friendly. I'd been feeling ill for a few days, but having a pie here for lunch made me feel on top of the world again!
Great value for money. The food was great an you could eat at the place.
The food was served within 5 minutes of ordering which was nice.
I recommend this place for a fast but filling and well tasting lunch.
Epic pies. The Guinness and beef, fetta and sweet potatoes is delicious! Mushy peas are soo good with the graveyard. Very nice staff, clean place and food location. Like the pictures inside.
Simple, fresh and tasty. Guinness Pie is terrific, veggie pie as well. Small but pleasant, great service. A good, cheap, healthy place to go. Give it a try!
Didn't try the Guinness pie cause it was all sold out when I got there. Ordered a beef pie with chili and it was pretty good. The staff there was so nice. And it wasn't too pricey.
Great deal for pie, drink and side!
Great food and good prices! Especially for students :)) Staff was friendly and offered advice about Dublin (which was really awesome because I am a tourist haha)
I especially love and am super grateful for the under €10 deal, which got me a substantial pie, a side and a drink! Well priced and good food in the bar...
A meal deal to rave about! The various pies, sausage rolls, and desserts were all delicious and appropriately priced, including a student discount.
Very tasty and filling pies, kept me going for hours. Good value (for Temple Bar) too, only wish I'd discovered sooner.
Such good value for money, lovely pie and gravy, cafe environment and you can look and choose your meal as the pies are in display
I I love the pieman. Warm hearty loveky pies. No fuss. Very fast and it's never too busy when I go in.
Really surprised how quiet it was at around 5pm on a Saturday night so close to Temple bar centre. Pie mash and gravy really hot the spot. Well recommended.
Excellent vegetarian options and perfect hot fresh pies! Lots of seating in this little spot.
Good pies. They were open relatively late, so it was good to satisfy our cravings of sweet food.
Once we found this shop we ate here as much as possible. So, so good. Guinness and steak pie! Yummy.
Spent the last week in Dublin, wish I would have found pieman cafe earlier, great pie, nice atmosphere, local craft beer. Will come back
One of the best places in Dublin to get a pie. Friendly staff and good selection. Love this place
Great spot for a pie fix while in Dublin. Facilities need a bit of attention, coffee machine and toilets were broken. Cash only.
Epic pie cravings are satisfied. Be sure to order the beef and Guinness. You will not be disappointed!
The place is cute and the pie was tasty. But not that tasty as I expected. I had better pies in the UK.
It was ok. The sausage roll and spiced potatoes are lovely. Good prices.
This placed saved my life and made me keep wanting to live even after all the Guiness and Jameson I drank. Make sure you get the gravy.
My first steak and Guinness pie in Ireland and it was delicious! Super reasonably priced too!
Tasty reasonably priced pies with nice mash and gravy on the side and a decent few beer options.
Best place to eat in temple bar area, the employees are super lovely and the food tastes amazing. I recommend the Beef+Guinnes Pie.
Friendly staff and tasty pies. Their pie crust remained sturdy even when covered in gravy.
Lovely little place with great pies. Don’t forget the gravy. Friendly staff.
It was OK but most of the food was cold having being cooked previously and reheated. Fine in a pinch but a quick search will likely find better.
Small and cozy place. Great pies and very affordable if you can get the student deal.
Delicious, a very good place for lunch and with a very good price. Only one detail: they only take cash. There's an ATM just around the corner anyway.
Tastey food, very friendly staff, and great price. All around good
Delicious pies! Although I do agree the potatoes need more flavor! Will return!
Very quaint little place. Great pies! Pie drink and a side for 9 Euro!
The beef and Gunness pie was delicious. Crispy crust and moist fillings.
Friendly staff with nice food:)
Excellent pie, very cosy shop and the lady who sells them is so sweet!
This small cafe is easily passed by but now that i know its there i cant. Friendly staff ,beers, warm and comforting food .Great little find, loved it .
Lovely staff, they have vegan options, super cozy place!
Lovely food. Specially for those cold days. The place is very cosy and the staff is great.
Delicious! We got the toffee apple pie ... but ate it too quickly to snap a picture
great pies with a lot of different fillings
more a to go bar then a restaurant
prefect for a lunch break
Hot chocolate was perfect as well as their cakes. I'd always come back to this place!
Lovely coffee shop with a delicious pie and friendly service.
Awesome place. The location is super cute, staff are friendly and the food is great.
Fantastic pies! Really tasty. Fast service, recommend
Very delicious pie, great staff too
Great little gem, the prices are not so inflated like the rest of Temple Bar.
Reasonable price. Unfortunately no draft but some interesting beers in bottle.
Delicious pies and friendly service at a highly competitive price!
Great pies. Good coffee. Cash only
Good price, good taste, good location, friendly staff. Very nice
Great place for a quick cheap bite to eat.
Limited range of pies and a little expensive. Might be a regular if there were more options.
Was yummy with a good service
Best pie I've ever had!
Excellent place, everything is perfect. French and tanzanien visitors...
Good pie, good prices, nice service.
Filling, flavoursome, and fantastic!! And excellent value too!
Ok for a quick snack rather than fancy dinner.

Nice pies
Fantastic food!
Great pie!
Amazing!
Yessss! Pies!!!
Class establishment 👌
Cosy and great service
Solid pies.
Super nice
Example of "small barrel, good wine"! It's a small place, with just a few tables, sometimes to be shared with others. But the food is really super. Small savory pies with or without meat, which can be accompanied with a couple of fresh side dishes of your choice and covered with a sauce of your choice. The cakes are truly CRAZY, uniquely delicious and not trying them is a crime!! The staff is also super helpful and courteous. Furthermore, it is possible not only to buy take-away, but also to purchase raw cakes, to be cooked calmly at home. We were very tempted to stock up and take them to Italy to let friends and relatives try them!
Furthermore, the costs are low:
9.50 euros for pie + side dish + soft drink
12.50 euros for pie+side dish+beer
The savory and sweet pies are very good. The managers are very helpful and ready to advise what to choose. The place is small but never too crowded.
I took the "Guinness beef" pie, really recommended, too bad the mashed potatoes were a little dry! Small but welcoming and nice place a stone's throw from Temple Bar
Cute little cafe, nice, helpful staff, good food and value for money. There are also student discounts!
Menu of meat pie and Ginness with mashed potatoes and sauce and beer for €12.5. Very good
Perfect for a quick lunch while visiting Dublin. The Guinness and beef pie is delicious!
Great place to eat the famous beef and Guinness pie. These are pies filled with cooked beef and simmered in Guinness beer. Truly exceptional, inimitable taste!!! The price is also acceptable, especially considering that you are in the heart of Temple Bar.
Discovered by chance, while walking, we went to try the pie of the day for €5, with chicken and sausage. Very good and tasty. More than recommended!
Small and cozy but above all the pies/pies are delicious! For a hot, quick and inexpensive meal without going to fast food, it's perfect.
It’s not just about eating steak in a clumsy way.
Beef pie flavored with Guinness
A great place to sit and eat cheaply!
The great place. Very delicious coffee and sweets too. Very friendly. I recommend it
Excellent little restaurant with very good hot pies and super good meat rolls!!
The pies taste good. Students get a discount.
Without a doubt the best pie I have ever tried!!
(Translated) Nice service, nice little bistro, good value for money!

Kedves kiszolgálás, kellemes kis bistro, jó ár érték arány!
It's good. Cheap and fast. Perfect.
Lovely little coffee, delicious brownie!
Very good and personal pie, super recommended
You have to try the Oreo cake! Unbeatable.
The gravy was very watery.
