k. c.I stayed at the Imperial Hotel Dundalk with my partner for the night and we had the suite booked. Staff were incredible with anything we needed or wanted and couldn’t have been more helpful. Food was delicious. The Ivy Rooftop restaurant was incredible and there was a lovely atmosphere. Our room was spacious, very well decorated and also very clean. They provided us with a fan on request also. The only thing we weren’t thrilled about was the restaurant for dinner which was more like a lounge / bar and it seemed we were given the same menu that we had gotten earlier in the rooftop restaurant just adding the pizza menu in, nonetheless we thoroughly enjoyed the pizzas we ordered and even got them to take away back to the room and the staff had no problem providing us pizza boxes. We had breakfast brought up to the room and it was early which was great and the breakfast was gorgeous. Overall we enjoyed our stay and I really hope to go back soon!
A. K.Super helpful staff and the guard along with receptionist helped us to get a parking spot in the busy city centre (where hotel is). Food in the restaraunt and cocktails were delicious, rooms are very modern and stylish (i even wrote down few ideas for my own house). Only reason for four stars was problems with hot and cold water, it was near impossible to take a shpwer without jerking the water temperature knob back and forth until i managed to get water temperature to somewhat hptter than lukewarm. Other than that, all good.

A. M.Great spot for a weekend away. We were here for our anniversary and the hotel made us feel very welcome and showed us a good time.
We had plans to go to a few different bars on our time here but each night we ended up in the hotel bar and having the best of craic.
The bar had live music both nights and the guys were brilliant. Pints were great and she loved her cocktails.
The bar staff were exceptional. Big shout out to the lads Tom and Craig and the rest of the staff. Quick service and good craic.
The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Couldn't fault our stay, for everyone asking us why we came to dundalk, we will definitely be back. Everyone's so friendly and all love the craic.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. During these difficult times under the restrictions because of COVID 19 the staff went that little bit extra to accommodate me. Breakfast was just perfect. I would definitely be back only I hope things will be more open.
L. 9.Very central location, we travelled via train and walk to the hotel which was literally a 5 min walk. Staff were always very friendly and professional. Our room had a very modern feel to it with stylish decor.
Plenty of storage and room service was available. Good social distancing measures were in place as well as ample sitting in the lounge/bar area. We have further business in the town lockdown permitting and we will be trying to book rooms here. Also have good parking around the back of the building and despite the building being in the middle of the town with windows closed it was silent.

Unfortunately we had not so nice of an experience when we first entered the room there was vomit on one of the chairs which suggested the room wasn’t cleaned very well after previous guests. The water pressure of the shower was very slow. Breakfast was average not very much choice but it was nice in taste and staff were lovely and polite. Overall nice hotel very modern.

T. T.One of the best hotels I have ever been.
All staf are amazing, they really help you whatever problem you have and always smiling, whole hotel is clean, all facilities that you need (tea, coffee, hair dryer, tv, warm room, mirror, chairs, confortable bed, hangers, and etc).
And it is located on the heart of the city.
They have a bar on the ground floor, that is fantastic, tasty food and nice atmosphere, price is fair.
If you are going to Dundalk, it is good idea to stay at Imperial Hotel.
D. F.What a gorgeous hotel, really beautifully decorated to a very high standard.
The staff are second to none. I really cannot begin to explain how excellent every staff member we encountered was. I just wish I had taken note of some of their names. The receptionists we met, cleaners and waiting staff were all fantastic.
It’s located in a perfect place close to a vast array of bars and restaurants in the area. The hotel bar is great too.
The hotel bar is my only minor inconvenience, they do warn of it on their website, so I don’t want to take away of the excellence of this hotel. It’s just very loud. My partner slept the whole way through it easily, and most people probably would, I just don’t tend to deal well with noise. The hotel very kindly provided ear plugs which was a nice touch. In the end, I got to sleep with the aid of some white noise and earphones. I didn’t bring this up to the hotel since it was only an issue on the Saturday night anyway. The hotel were so lovely I have no doubt they would have done anything they could to make my stay more comfortable. I don’t want to mark them down for this, just a heads up to let people know if they are coming.
Absolutely love this hotel and have recommended to friends and family after staying.

Staff very helpful and friendly. If you want to be quiet ask for 3rd floor at weekends. The new decor is attractive and different from the usual and done to a high standard. Would highly recommend

But on this occasion, my room was nice and big, clean and comfortable, nice temperature, tea and coffee to hand .. what more do you need? Ok, well the view onto a dilapidated yard from a demolished building wasn't the nicest but hey-ho.

It is also not noisy, located near the center and critically has its own parking. Id recommend staying here if you want a mid range hotel with a lot of style and substance, it won't let you down!
R. R.We found ourselves having to book a hotel in for the night after our holiday plans were unexpectedly changed and we had to change airport.
The reception staff were exceptionally helpful as we had arrived before our room was available, but they looked after our baggage, and sought us out in the bar restaurant early when our room become ready sooner than expected.
Holly, who served us lunch in the bar restaurant was friendly, helpful, welcoming and chatty, professional but with a very personal touch. She even recognised us the following morning at breakfast and wished us well on our onward journey. Our plans changing had made our situation a little fraught, and Holly helped relax us and made us feel much more settled for the rest of our stay at the hotel.
Jack, who served us dinner on our night's stay, was also welcoming, attentive but not intrusive, friendly, and chatty, and, like Holly, was a credit to the hotel. He made recommendations and helped us with a change of choices for one of the menu items. He also made our stay very enjoyable.
Another plus to this hotel was the shuttle buses that whisk you to and from Manchester airport, in fact, this was one of the reasons we booked this hotel, it made our travel plans easier and less fraught.

N. W.I had never visited here before had the opportunity to go last night. I like the decor since the recent refurbishment. Seemed to be plenty of staff on hand no long wait for drinks. I do not understand why they feel the need to have the music system up full blast. It makes having a conversation very difficult. Also the selection of music was pretty poor. Other then that good night out.
D. K.Stopped in for a cup of tea while walking through memories of Dundalk. Ordered a pot of peppermint tea. I got actual mint tea leaves, strainer and the water was hot. I am so impressed, seriously. In the 5* hotels, you get a bag. The receptionist and waitress were so lovely, bright and cheery for a Friday night. Well done Imperial.

G. R.A surprising discovery in the centre of Dundalk town, the Imperial Hotel gets an unexpected 5-star review. Bought out of receivership, renovated and reopened in Sep 2018.
The interior designers behind this latest incarnation got it just right, combining modern finish with colours and textures that recreate a traditional feel of a hotel from the 40's or 50's (?) before my time anyway!
The rooms are finished using a deft combination of navy and grey, with wood panelling and antique bronze freestanding lamps for subtle lighting.
The bathrooms are modem but with a nice touch of Edwardian styled wash basins and taps, with navy worktop tiling on either side in line with the colour scheme of the bedrooms.
Located in the heart of the town this is a great base for any visit to Dundalk.

R. N.The food is great, but since it was Sunday when we went to restaurant, it was very crowded, and we waited for the first meal about an hour. I hope it isn't always that way, and they shoud get more stuff on weekends.
I don't know the name of the desert, but it was with strawberries, and I suggest everyone who is a strawberry lover should try it. Donestic soup is also great.

M. M. M.Situated pretty much in the heart of Dundalk. There is on street parking to the front and side, and a carpark at the rear. The hotel and bar area has been completely refurbished recently, and the decor is very nice. I can only give 3 stars as I haven't been in yet for food and drinks, so will modify my rating after that if necessary.
J. B.Nice hotel with a nice lounge bar but beer selection is poor. They have a BrewDog tap but it wasn't pouring. No local beer or even anything decent in bottles.

Dundalk is the gateway to my heaven on earth Carlingford and when traveling from Belfast I always stop off in Dundalk for a coffee in the Imperial when time allows for my welcome half way home to Dublin. We seem to use service stations too much and miss our great towns and hotels. Hotels are not just for B&B the Imperial do great teas & coffees and have great baristas that know their trade after which a quick 10min walk around the town and totally refreshed for the rest of the trip home.
