D. H.This place is a really nice find. We found it just by luck & we're pleasantly surprised. It was busy and people were actually queuing as we left so maybe reserve before if you have the option. The staff were very attentive & service was good. Great coffee too in a really lovely location
G. B.If you are bored with traditional restaurants or cafeterias Rocksalt should be on your list to try. For sure I can recommend this place to dine or have a cup of coffee with friends or family, decent fresh food and vibe, but expect bill figures more like in a restaurant than a cafe. Food is made fresh daily, and it is very tasty. They have vegan options if desired, coffee is decent too.

S. C.Love the indoor decor and the staff are all lovely and couldn't do more for you. Menu could do with updating at this point but lovely food nonetheless. Great vegan snack alternatives. Oat milk coffee is okay but could be better, not sure if it's the method or the chosen brand. Still one of my fav cafes regardless and always trys very hard to be creative and to find new Irish suppliers/roasters.

D. D.Family all home for Christmas so we headed over to the Cafe having heard good things about it from friends. We were not disappointed. We all had the Veggie Fryup - copious amounts of delicious fare! There are an excellent selection of desserts and goodies for afters - go on, indulge yourself! You wont regret it. Friendly, cordial and professional staff. The Cafe was busy as obviously its excellent reputation is widely appreciated.

L. H.Called for lunch on a fairly busy Wednesday afternoon, seated immediately. Greeted by friendly and welcoming host. Menu fresh, varied and enticing. Ordered grilled cheese on sourdough and pancakes with eggs and bacon. Cheese sandwich was delicious, a real savory and slightly sweet, nutty flavour with chutney. The eggs had a very flavoursome hollandaise sauce. Service was prompt and always with a smile. Would definitely recommend.

E. R.I was a 4 Star chef for 40 year's before my health went. We had the Soup here today and we found it outstanding with a slice of fabulous bread. One TIP I could give the chef's here, that if you have bigger orders in for food and you get a small order in for soup or something the same, get the small orders out of your way right a way so you can concentrate on the bigger orders. 5 Stars *****

They have gone to great efforts to make it a welcoming place for both locals and visitors to the area - and quite successfully too. I can recommend this as a lovely place to visit
L.Coffee!!!! Coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee!!!!! Whenever I have a day off, I always go here for my one shot latte and Salted caramel brownie.. Swoon and drool! The staff are amazing, they know how to make an amazing coffee and they always have time for a chat. Such a lovely team ❤️

S. H.Food wasnt too bad, service was very poor. Got seated within 5 minutes as it was early on a Wednesday morning but took another 10 before got any service. Ordered breakfast and coffee at the same time, breakfast arrived within 10 mins, coffee arrived a few mins after breakfast was served. Man serving us forgot to bring sweetener twice despite being asked twice. I appreciate what this place is doing for BlackRock but I probably wouldn't rush back anytime soon. Also, they need to update their menu and prices on their website to be in line with the menu in the restaurant.
M. M. M.I would rarely give 5 stars based on just one visit to a location, but Rocksalt Café truly merits them. Rocksalt is located towards the soutern end of the main street in Blackrock Village. It is directly facing the promenade and the sea. There is on street parking on both sides of the road the whole way down the main street, so parking shouldn't be too difficult.
I had waited quite some time to get to Rocksalt, as on the several occasions I had tried, it was simply too busy. I can't deduct any stars for that, as that is the goal of any service business.
On the one occasion I did make it in, I found it much more spacious inside than I had expected. It has an old marine type appearance on the inside, with this wonderful open hatch, that allows you to see the chefs at work.
I liked the seating arrangements. It's not a very big place, but they utilise the space very well.
The staff were very courteous and helpful, and were very knowledgeable about the menu. There was sufficient variation on the menu, to make me take some time deciding what to have. In the end, between the group I was with, we ordered completely different items, just to try a bit of each. We were not disappointed, even down to the tea and coffee.
I will be doing my very best to make a return visit soon, so I recommend you get in when the chance arises!
