I would highly recommend this restaurant! I had the mussels and monkfish as a main after reading such wonderful reviews on Google - I was not disappointed! Myself and my partner shared the prawns and the crab as our starters, which were amazing. We were too full to try dessert but what we saw on the table next to us looked delicious too. To top off the experience, all the staff were friendly and attentive. A wonderful last night in Galway for two travelling Aussies!

What a special, special place. Staff so very friendly, we left a message for a reservation and they called us a few times until they got us on the phone. So very thankful for that!!! Very nice relaxed atmosphere. We had fried oysters, raw oysters and scampi prawns with a polenta waffle. I grew up on a beach and was raised on fresh seafood. Chef Michael's dishes are above and beyond any expectation you may have. What an honor to experience your dishes. Truly delectable. I have no words but a big thank you to Oscar's for a very lovely evening for two newlyweds in love and on honeymoon.

Could not recommend enough. The wild prawn starter is beyond incredible. Easily one of the nicest seafood dishes I've ever had. The monkfish main was awesome and the better halfs hake dish was even better. Great service, definitely book ahead as everyone who walked in on the evening was turned away due to being fully booked.

Amazing and delicious food. Atmosheric. Cosy. Personable. Polite, friendly staff. An extra touch of class was the music played. On the night I was there Kim Ohehir was playing so beautifully. You will spend a little more money here on your typical dinner night out but I strongly recommend you to dig deep And experience Oscars! Best oysters I've ever had so far! Tryed potted crab and monkfish, both incredible and delicious, also fish and chips was class! The owner was very gentle and had a good chat about the dishes. Overall very good experience and really good service. Highly recommended if you're in Galway and looking for good fish!

Went for a celebratory event and was somewhat disappointed by the lack of choices and creativity shown. The mushroom soup was lacklusterc and having one of the prawns completely in the shell and unprepped in any way shows laziness. Much of the food was well prepared though, and the staff was gracious.

I would say that this restaurant is special if you’re into seafood. The prawns which I got as a starter were the best I’ve ever had and the main (mussels and monkfish)was also a treat. This is an exceptional seafood restaurant. I hope to get back some day and bring my friends.

While my experience may have been an anomaly, Oscar's did not live up to it's reputation. Our party made the mistake of ordering the same dish - we never do that! The scallops were gritty and that left the entire plate disappointing. The bleu cheese and pear potato au gratin was fantastic, however!

Fresh seafood menus that change daily on a chalkboard will be greeting you when you sit down at Oscars. The portions are generous, and well-prepared. The wine list is of equal quality, and the service is on point. A worthy stop in the small, foodie district Galway.

Seasonal, sustainable, and delectable! They don't tell the fishermen what do fish, instead they ask fishermen what they have. As a result, the food is incredibly fresh. You'd be remiss not to make this part of your your Galway trip. HIGHLY recommended!

Our experience at this restaurant was simply amazing. They had lovely classic starters & oysters. Their (daily/seasonal) seafood mains tasted wonderful and were yet a bit daring, but executed perfectly. Service was a ten out of ten. Would strongly recommend this to seafood lovers.

Diner in September 2019 while travelling for business Fish was cooked almost perfectly (This is a compliment!) Portions have very good size and are more than sufficient. Plate presentation is nice. 2 courses menu plus glass of wine each for about 50€/pers. Price is fair assuming the quality, ratio quality/price is reasonably good The waiter was pleasant. The room is bistro style, a little bit noisy but it is easy to sustain a conversation. I would advise to place a reservation, we've seen the waiter refusing people as all the table were either occupied or booked They have a special menu for happy hours, our table neighbour did this choice and their plates were very attractive.
