C. P.My favourite place in Galway! I've been several times and I love it. Everything is perfect, coffee, tea, desserts, staff... Amazing place!
A. H.When I say that this is THE best place in Galway, I truly mean it.
The Secret Garden has great selection of hot drinks (vegan milk available!), many (many) blends of tea and by far my favourite cakes in town (vegan options!).
The interior, with its many pillows and corners, just feels so warm and cosy. On nice days, you can even sit in the beautiful backyard. The staff is of course lovely, too.
But what elevates this place from „just a really good café“ to „I want to apply for permanent residence here“ is THE CAT (West!). I implore you, for your own sake, to meet her in person (and grab a slice of cake, while you‘re at it).

H. P.One of my favourite places in Galway and one of the best cafes I've ever been to! I love how this cafe is decorated. There's a gorgeous section of the cafe where you can sit down on cushions and set your things down on the low tables and just read in a literal cosy corner which I've done many a time. I love the fairy lights and the very chill vibes the place gives off. The staff are absolutely lovely as well and I always get a turmeric latte which is always wonderful. They have a lovely selection of cakes too. The outdoor part is the best when it's a sunny day and they have also have a resident cat lounging around ready to chill with you! I just absolutely adore this place! I would highly recommend it and it's one definitely not to miss if you're in Galway!

H. S.Great little cafe with an amazing variety of teas. I used to visit all the time when I lived in Galway and I miss playing board games with friends over a cup of earl grey. I'd recommend checking the cafe out if you want somewhere friendly with a good vibe.
M. B.This hipster style cafe has a large selection of teas, you are sure to find one you like. They have a good choice of cakes and pastries including gluten free and vegan options. Some of the cakes are expensive for the size of the portion. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a sheltered outdoor seating area and they have a selection of board games for costumerd to use. There is a very relaxed atmosphere to this cafe. If you've really enjoyed your choice of tea, which I'm sure you will, you can buy some to take home with you.

Loved the shelves with books at the back. Didn't regret that there was no WiFi, chose instead to read a book!

The teas are beautiful to look at and there is such a wonderful assortment you can always find a new one or stick with a favorite. Mara also goes above and beyond shipping teas internationally. D. S.Such great loose-leaf tea at an amazing price. I have to stop myself from drinking it all day long it's so good. I got the 'improved mood and memory ', 'chamomile and lavender' and 'anti-stress' loose teas. Looking forward to trying more!! And the staff are lovely and helpful.

M. C. A.One of the loveliest cafés in Galway, I would recommend this to anyone. The selection of teas is to die for. My personal favourite is 'Mysterious Passion' which has notes of carmel and peach, and when poured is pink! There is also coffee and cakes to choose from too.
There is a lovely curry that gets snatched up very quickly so be sure to get there earlier to have some!
The only downside is that they are strict about food brought from outside the premises, as most businesses are, but this to me is a bit much here in particular. Otherwise I'd highly recommend!

I love the fact that there is such a variety if teas available. I was there in the morning so u had a cappuccino and it was just perfect. I also sat outside in the secret garden - now this is where I would be having my coffee every morning if I lived in Galway.

T. O.Lovely teas & coffees of all kinds. Desserts are pure yum. They have board games that my son loves playing. He's very keen on chess now. A lovely place to treat yourself, have a natter with a friend or just to chill. Staff lovely too.
R. V.The owner is a cat who spends most of the time on the back of the store. He does a good job with the store, keeping the staff happy and friendly, offering a big variety of different teas, and the outside area bug-free.
The interior is very nice and calm, nice spot to have a coffee and read. I highly recommend the coconut cake.

Used this place quite a few times for lunch and while the savory menu is really just curry (a nice veggie, same as you get in the Saturday market if you know it) it is worth the visit, good selection of sweet foods. If into tea this is the place and friendly staff will advise on the wide selection of Tea.

My americano was very large and good. Service was friendly and efficient.
A mix of seating is available including beanbag, cushions, comfy chairs and regular seats. Quiet lounge music plays but isn't so loud as to interrupt conversation.
A great place to meet with friends, and there were a mix of people here including a young family whose children were playing Connect 4 and a group of older ladies reminiscing about their younger days attending the Galway Races.
Pots of tea for sharing are huge, no skimping here.
Out back there is a garden area and clean toilets.

I had the vegetarian curry, which was on another cosmic plane. Absolutely bursting with flavour and the perfect tonic on a cold, drizzly afternoon.
I followed that with a cappuccino (one of the best) and after much deliberation (burden of choice) I had the chocolate cake, which I'm still salivating over.
My girlfriend had the vegan chocolate cake, which she wishes to give special mention to. If there were any academy award for vegan deserts, it would reel in a Titanic load of gongs.
Very chilled ambience inside. Try not to curl up and have a nap.
If you're in town, just go.

K. N.Quiet and cozy tea cafe. Large selection of teas, baked goods, and shisa. Both tables and chairs, and pillows and bean bags to sit in, fairy lights around the place, art displayed, games to play, guitars to strum, and a lovely outdoor seating area.
S. W.As soon as you enter The Secret Garden the Eastern flavored decor and the vast array of giant glass tea jars distracts your thoughts from the day to day world outside. There are comfortable chairs and settees with multicolored cushions, colored lights and bunting, all adding to the cheerful ethereal feel.
Our large Americanos were perfect and the array of cakes to choose from was impressive. Everything looks specially made with no cellophane wrappers or cardboard display packets to be seen. We can certainly vouch for the rocky road and the fruit crumble. Each delicious in their own way.
The staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Overall, well worth a visit if you're in the vicinity.
