Really liked it here! The food was delicious, service was great. I appreciated the numerous vegetarian options on the menu. Vegetables were creamy and velvety, very well prepared. Its a cozy place, good for a quick bite, and the location is conveniently central, walking distance from main attractions.

The food here was spectacular, and it happens to be mentioned in the Michelin Guide. For the price, I thought it had great value. 3 courses for €27 was maybe the cheapest, highest quality meal you'll have in the whole of Ireland. I ordered the confit duck and was rewarded with unctuous crispy skin and refreshing bites of stewed apricots. The potatoes were lemony and herbaceous. The dessert, a fruit posset, was creamy and tart. A perfect finish.

We enjoyed a lunch for 4 people today and I've had several fantastic evening meals here too. The service is great, you never need to ask for anything. The quality of food is as good as any where in Kilkenny and the value is unbeatable. We shared some baked prawns for starters which were simply and perfectly cooked and I had beef bourguignon for a main course. The presentation was top notch, only equaled by the quality of ingredients and flavour of the dish. Perfect with my glass of red wine. I was happy out! Highly recommended.

Beautiful food, lovely interiors and very warm welcoming service. We had Sunday lunch which was priced strangely with options for a main course, 2 courses or 3. All were good value however and the food was delicious. Nice spot for couples aswell as families with children welcome.

Beautiful presentation, tasty arrangements, quiet atmosphere. Had the goat cheese plate, grilled salmon ceviche, soup, bass, baked Alaska, toffee pudding and some delightful fresh bread with oil and balsamic vinegar. Couldn't tell you the favorite because it was all excellent. Wrapped up with some mango tea. If you're in the area, highly recommend it.

Good service. Nice ambience. Not sure about battered fish. Very unusual brown dense texture in a heavy batter. Tasted awful and no I did not complain. Dare say the owner saw the fish left on my plate. Have been here before and it was good.

We had a really lovely lunch here. We just walked in off the street not knowing anything about the place and we both ordered the roast chicken. We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of this elevated roast chicken dish. Lovely presentation and taste. Very reasonable aswell at €14.50 for a main course. Happy to recommend this place and in particular this dish.

Read previous reviews and had high expectations, left a bit underwhelmed. The service was very good, however the food was only average. I had the goats cheese, pork chop and brownie. The goats cheese was very bland, almost like Philadelphia, and the tomato salad lacked flavor and seasoning, the pork chop was well cooked and the cous cous was tasty but I didn't taste any teriyaki whatsoever. The 'brownie' was tasty with a good sauce but it was more airy muffin/cake than dense brownie. A nice restaurant with good service but with a couple of glasses of wine for 55 euro I felt the food was well below what I would expect for a menu of that price

The food was very good but I can't say things were leaping off the menu saying 'Eat Me'. I felt the dishes were a wee bit over thought and fussy, each with one or two ingredients too many. But that may be just my preference and I did enjoy my meal.

I am very surprised to see some less than flattering reviews on here. I had an impromptu dinner at 14.00 today with my wife and two youngest children. In my opinion, and that of the vast majority of the reviews on here, I find this restaurant to be consistently of the highest standard. That is why it has become a regular stalwart when it comes to eating out. It is an excellent restaurant by any standards. The chef is clearly an artisan with a passion for food and produces mini masterpieces that are interesting in terms of flavour. It is sometimes said that we "eat with our eyes" and the chef is clearly an artist in that regard too. The flavours are great. The ingredients are fresh and top class. This is the antithesis of pub grub. Fine dining is the 'order of the day', pardon the pun. Service is excellent and efficient and easily cater for young families such as mine.The prices are very keen, especially for the quality of fare on offer. If you want more than just a dinner then you are sure to get a cuisine experience here. It is a treat to eat here in surroundings that reflect the artistic nature of the owner. After randomly discovering this place a number of years ago, I have had many a dinner with my family and have never been disappointed. I have absolutely no affiliation with the owner; i have no idea who he or she is even. None of the staff are known to me but are always friendly and helpful. I am very surprised to see the few negative reviews here. Perhaps the people concerned had their own agenda that coloured their verdict and that possibly didn't have anything to do with the cuisine on offer. In any event the 4.4 standing clearly reflects the vast majority of opinion on this establishment. This is in my top three restaurants in the whole of Kilkenny city and county. Make sure you visit. If you do, I will bet that you will arrive at the same conclusion as me and the vast majority of patrons of this fine dining enterprise. Ollie Sinnott.
