Visited here last Sunday for a scone and coffee. Got a lovely cherry scone and butter and a portion of good jam that we were given without asking. The service by a young waiter was excellent and we watched as all tables were cleared and cleaned thoroughly when patrons left. No hesitation in recommending this cafe and the rest of the menu looked great as well. We will be back.

Nice place, decent food and good location. One small thing, make sure you check your tables some are not level with the floor and keep moving. Bar that all good !

Although I live in Lucan Village I had never been in the River Cafe before this visit. Our party of four adults had breakfast there and not one of us was disappointed. We were impressed with the quality & quantity of the food and the friendly efficient staff. It was great value I thought at €60 for four full breakfasts, two pots of tea, two coffees ( twice), toast and a scone.

Absolutely the best spot for a bite to eat & a coffee in Lucan. Never disappoints. Really love the breakfasts here at the weekend & the kids are mad about the French Toast. Coffee is superb. Staff are always attentive & friendly, even when busy. Great value for money.

Only the best coffee in Dublin, that's all. Doing takeaway that's absolutely worth queuing in the rain for.. Can't wait until they open again for wonderful breakfasts, lunches, cakes and, of course, coffee. Excellent friendly service makes it worth getting there early at weekends. A local business with a big heart and tons of quality. A "must-visit".

Stopped in for a coffee today and sat outside on the lovely seating in the sunshine. The lady who served me was very friendly and pleasant.

Extremely nice staff, and really good with children. Menu is quite limited, but well done, and the quality of the food is finest. I'd suggest this is perfect for a really decent breakfast. I'll definitely be back at my earliest convenience. It's well worth a visit.

Met staff member Mirela today, who is definitely management material! Knowing I was in a hurry with a pressing appointment, she swiftly arranged things that I was seated, with food ordered within minutes of arrival, despite a very packed and busy cafe. Excellent customer service, efficiency and organisation and all done with courtesy and ease. Needless to say the breakfast was 1st rate too! Thank you Mirela!

Great food, freshly made, served with a smile. One criticism, the main cash girl needs to lighten up, too serious and too officias, she is a from a foreign former Eastern Block country which may account for her very, serious attitude. She needs to smile a lot more like some of the staff!

On Sunday while waiting at the counter to pay, the cashier began to publically admonish the lady who served us. My wife and I were remarking during our breakfast on the wonderful and friendly person this lady was to us. However, the way she was publically spoken to was shocking to her and to those of us gathered at the counter. I said that I do not like this behaviour and our service by this lady was brilliant. No apology was forthcoming to us or to the lady who served us! This is a serious lack of professionalism and needs to be addressed by management. It was paramount to bullying behaviour. The irony is that the cashier I remember when she started not too long ago and the mistakes she made when I was a customer then! Bitter taste after our Sunday morning breakfast.

Very popular and always busy, good selection of food and coffee. Nothing to out of the ordinary but all food well presented. Parking can be a problem on the Main Street so you may need to walk here. Staff can be a bit cold, depends on the day.

Basic food, basic coffee. Irish style place which stopped with food culture 20 years ago. Serving breakfast (mainly eggs and irish breakfast) and lunch (sandwiches, lasagna and similar very average quality food). Staff makes effort, they are nice. Because of lack good food places in lucan, thats the best coffee place :-)

I come in here as often as I can, in fact I don't even have to order the girls always say "would you like your usual"? I highly recommend coming here you won't be disappointed, inexpensive and delicious food.

Cosy to sit in, if not sat by the single glazed window on a cold winter day. Been there in summer for lunch only, liked it, so came back for breakfast, which, unfortunately was just average. Asked if had fresh o.j., got one frim a tetrapack; says poridge is with honey and walnuts - more like traces of. Only two toilets for F/M, one was blocked; toilets would do with a revamp. Will not go back.
