Lovely place great food, staff are very nice. Two points they had signs up before for breastfeeding friendly which I was delighted to see but they don't have any changing facilities? I understand space is tight but a wall-mounted one would be possible

Nice wee café on the side street in Navan town. Lovely coffee and fresh cake. Makes a change from some places that seem to consistently delve out yesterday's cold cakes. Staff very pleasant and approachable. Will go back!

Don't understand the negative comments....the food was fantastic, and portions HUGE. I had an inexpensive healthy salad, said I didn't want the chicken, and was asked if I wanted to substitute for something else so I chose smoked salmon, which was piled up on the plate, at no extra cost I should say - and as I said, no scrimping on portion sizes. Coffee (oat milk) excellent also, and amazing home-made lemon meringue. I was over from London for a few days, and in spite of the wide choice we have here in this enormous city, I rarely leave a cafe / restaurant as satisfied as I was when I left Chekhov's. The staff were also very friendly - especially the younger guy with a few tatts. My only (slight) gripe is the name - what about all the great Irish writers? Don't they need a cafe named after them? Beckett's Cafe, McGahern's Cafe? Rooney's Cafe ?

Coffee wasn't great, to be honest. Food was ok overall but I was s bit annoyed because the edge of my toast was burned. Not a big deal in itself, but, the burned piece was presented on the top of the slices of toast. So it was obvious to see as soon as you look at the plate that that piece was burned... But the staff either didn't notice or didn't care.

Great place, with lots of breakfast/brunch/lunch options, and good desserts! I really liked the seats near the window with lots of plugs. It’s a nice place to stay for a while, to relax. I recommend!

I had a mighty breakfast at Chekov's this morning.. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs brekkie, followed by a fruit scone and a pot of tea... In all it was very very nice and fresh.. Service was excellent and friendly and the decor is really nice and trendy.. I highly recommend Chekov's for a good meal..

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Navan, got the Eggs Benedict and it was pretty good. Prices are incredibly reasonable and the atmosphere in the morning was great.

Had a coffee and a scone outside at the new seating area. The small of diesel was disgusting, not much point in an outdoor seating area if you have to inhale enormous amounts of petrol and diesel fumes.

Came in just for coffe... We took pannini and wrap, two teas and gluten free chocolate cake. So impressed with teas... Original and so tasty. Wrap could be a little bit warmer but delicious anyway. Grate choice of fillings. Very good prices and happy overall. Back soon again!

From the moment you walk in you'll find this place to be a real gem. It's often busy with locals and although we're not frequent visitors we're always impressed that we get a genuine warm friendly welcome each visit. The inviting smell of hot food, hot coffee in a clean and well presented venue gives it a lovely charm and character. Discovering that you're eating local produce, sourced locally, supporting local jobs in the community ads to the experience.

Had enough of getting home and getting wrong food. 4 times is enough... i drive 6km into town to grab a take away on my lunch break and 6km back only to see ONCE AGAIN a simple order is wrong. First few times I've said it to the staff... this time you can have it on a Google review and i won't be coming back. Thanks! However! When the food is correct it has been great.. so 3 stars, but becomes a pain when you repeatedly get wrong orders.

The food here is really good, plenty of variety and presentation lovely. I would have scored 5/5 however the staff on Saturday were unhelpful miserable looking and down right rude. Such a pity as this wee place has a lot going for it. Staff should perhaps benefit going on some customer training days.
