R. L.Always our favourite cafe & gift shop to visit! Even if it's a rainy day & we can't walk the Hills of Tara, we still pop up for lunch & a snoop in the shop. Great place for buying special presents. It's magical! The food is always so tasty & impeccably made. When I had to ring ahead for my disabled son, the owner personally came on the phone, to ensure he would keep a comfy table for us when we arrived. This is without a doubt, my happy place on a sunny or rainy day. I visit at least once a month without fail. Oh & the pizza oven outside is fabulous & you can sit in these hobbit house-shaped pods (see the pic of my daughter in one!) Anyone that should have a chance to visit, will only want to come back again xxxx
M. B. S.Nice shop, good quality things there. Cafe have few tables on the street and other few in 2 separate terraces. Basic things you can buy, not too much. Didn’t like that for the toilet you are asked to pay 1 euro.

The Hill is beautiful this morning, we went as we do every March 17th and pay homage to St Patrick. If you visit the Hill please be respectful of our beautiful country.

Guys, just watch the hot chocolates drinks. I bought two for my young daughters today and both burnt their mouths. Way, way too hot to drink even after I had finished my coffee. We had an uncomfortable journey home.
D. D.Absolutely great place. Located at a beautiful historic site with lovely strolls. The food is always delicious. Every time, someone is asking for their recipes. The staff always come back with an answer, there is always pleasant chats and service that is efficient and effective.
We have come back here many times over the years and will continue to do so.
N. M.Really pleasantly surprised after a 2h walking tour in the cold. The place was warm, nicely decorated for Christmas. The mulled wine was very good and so was the steak sandwich. Reasonably priced too.
T. H.One of my favorite places in this whole region. Favorite spot to get a book or some oracke cards. We stayed in here qondering for probably an hour. Relaxed, beautiful things inside. The cafe is adorable. Great place for coffee when its cold out. So chill!
I. J.Surprisingly spacious with a 5k loop walk nearby on the historic Hill of Tara. Great variety of food and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Toilets are functional but disappointing given the standards generally.

M. L.Lovely place to go.The food is very good, tasty and the people are nice.Indeed sometimes it is a bit crowded but it worth it.They have only craft beer and I consider this a plus because of the taste and quality.Also you can buy a lot of souvenir's from here.Enjoy !!!

E. W.I got coffee here, handy to have the shop near the Hill of Tara for a pick-me-up. There was a bit of a wait due to the bus crowds, that can't be helped. Friendly and fast service and good tasting coffee. (This was part of "Mary Gibbons Tour to Bru na Boinne Newgrange and Hill of Tara" - highly recommended!)

1. C.Maguires of tara has always been my favourite place of solice and peace. I highly recommend the hill of Tara for healing. Everything from the food to the gifts shop is of the highest quality and standards. You will never taste a better pizza anywhere else. Highly recommend.

T. G.Nice cafe, gorgeous scones. Bit pricey though especially for the kids menu, pancakes same price on main(*adult) menu and for the kids menu, and a little mean on the portions only 1 slice of brown bread came with each dish we ordered ( poached egg and an omelette). The omelette included 2 ingredient choices and and additional ingredient was 1 euro extra which included onion which is steep! It just felt high priced for what you got. Lovely area to sit outside good. Good covid measures in place.

The menu is varied and reasonably priced and I thoroughly recommend the homemade soup and fresh bread it’s simple, wholesome, fresh and hearty. A new favourite is the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, it’s simply delicious.
Indoors there’s a vibrant atmosphere and in the warmer months, or dry days, it’s lovely to sit on the front patio.
c. c.This is s fabulous café. Great place to meet friends for lunch or simply coffee and cake. Lovely menu using lots of local fresh produce. Great cakes and coffee. Very friendly staff and the place is scrupulessly clean. Very reasonable prices. A little out of the way but worth the drive.
L. S.This place has a beautiful restaurant, serving healthy dishes. But my long time favorite and trusted go-to has always been their fresh baked scones. They serve the best scones ever, fresh cream and jam, along with a pot of tea. Always hits the mark.
Great book shop, that stocks Irish history, esoteric tomes and holistic books, that you would search to find elsewhere.

The staff were friendly on arrival, throughout the meal and we could not have had a nicer experience. Come back for the food and stay for the staff!
S.Lovely place to go and get a coffee and ice cream. If you've got young kids it can get very busy and crowded and with a crowd naturally service takes longer. The food is very tasty and fresh although they are a coffee shop the prices are edging up to restaurant costs. You can sit outside in the summer. Definitely factor it in to a visit

A. O.Busy and very popular café on the top of the Hill of Tara historical tourist site. It's constantly busy here with visiting tourists, cyclists from all directions and even the odd local.
The coffee is good and there's a good selection of treats on the menu in addition to the normal breakfast and lunch items.

L.busy coffee shop, it can be busy from 11 am onwards, queues can be off putting , usual wait 10-15mins, its the only coffee shop around and once sat down, feels like a reward especially after a walk. food is typical quick lunch menu, coffee is good. overall nice atmosphere outside but also inside the coffee/gift shop
A. S.A lovely friendly relaxed restaurant , for lunch or just a coffee. They serve anything from soup, salads or a main course which are very tasty. It's has a very wide range menu suitable for vegaterians and coeliac. Good seating for all the family, high chairs available.
This is a busy restaurant especially during the summer, as its beside the hill of Tara.
They also have a beautiful shop of homemade crafts attached to it. It's worth a visit.

S. M.Food was lovely but service was very slow. I waited 20 minutes for a pot of tea. Toilets need some attention as well, in fact quite a bit.
B. L.Busy cafe that serves good food and drinks. It can be busy when the weather is good. There is an attached shop with the usual tourist type stuff. They also do takeaway coffee and cakes if the cafe is too busy. On street parking is available but a better idea is to use the car park across the road.
S. H.Been here a couple of times. Service is lacklustre but food is really quite good (given that they're the only show in town). Prices are okay given the quality of the food. Menu improves further after 12:30 when breakfast is over. Just let any issues with the service wash over you and you'll enjoy it.
J. A.Very disappointed with our recent visit with friends from Luxembourg.
Over 40 mins before we all had our main orders meaning those served first had cold coffee.
When we asked why there was such a delay between serving the orders we were brushed off.
Then to make things worse my friends 14 year old went to the counter to order 2 muffins.
15 minutes later the server came to the table to say all the choc one, which were there when she placed the order, were gone.
Certainly not the standard we have come to expect and the delays meant we missed a number of things we wanted to do elsewhere that day as they were just closed by the time we got there.
Hoping we never experience this poor service again as we have come to trust Maguires as a good quality reliable place to bring our visitors.

T. S.Lovely place. the first time I visited Tara there was a gift shop but no café, and I must say the café is a great addition, especially if you need something warm after a walking tour on a cold day. took a lump of limestone from the mound of the hostages and had a piece of it made into a ring.
