Stopped there on the way up from cork with my elderly parents for a bite to eat. What a find. Lovely staff, very efficient and couldn't do enough. Food was served promptly and was top notch. Fillet steak dinner and a drink for €20. As it was the height of covid 19 tables were well spread out. Staff masked up and sanitizer on every table. Felt 100% safe. Toilets were spotless. First time there won't be the last. Well done The Gandon Inn and thank you

Went for dinner, with the kids. Its was full and the staff still found space for us. We got one lamb shank dinner, one beef, one childs portion beef dinner and fish gougeons. Everything was fantastic, tasty , portion size and value was excellent. Recommend big time. Well done to the great and friendly staff. 👍

What a great place. Ryan here. I stopped at the restaurant a few weeks back after heading back to Cork from Dublin. The owner Colin got talking to me about music as I was wearing a Thin Lizzy t-shirt, and I loved everything about the place - friendly staff, cosy older interior (wood and stone - no sterile white walls etc). The lamb shank was honestly the best I've ever had in my life (and I've had a few); and then the friendly nature of the girl behind the counter topped it all off. Beautiful people and great food. I'm definitely keen to come back I just hope it's not too far away because I highly recommend this place. Thanks Colin and staff!

Such a comfortable and welcoming place. Was there with my baby and we both enjoyed it. Lovely rooms with huge beds and soft beddings , very clean bathrooms and tastefully decorated. The staff exceeded expectation and the food and drinks were gorgeous at an affordable price. I highly recommend this place !

When you are on the road and hungry it's always a good sign to see trucks parked outside a place - so in we went. It is not an upmarket place, but it's comfortable, clean and exceptionally friendly. You would fit in wearing work clothes for a quick feed in the bar, or equally happily eat in the restaurant area if you are there for an occasion. And the food is really very good, nothing overly fancy but well cooked, plentiful and very reasonably priced. I had a really nice steak, my even hungrier companion had a mixed grill (not something you often see on menus anymore). I wish I'd taken a photograph of his plate, but he just started eating! So much food, it looked like it would feed a family. We left happy and well fed and will definitely be back.

Had a family occasion in the function room and the staff were excellent. Good location, easy parking, plenty of food and lots of space to socialise. The Gandon Inn is also well known locally for its bar food menu and Sunday lunch.

The beef dinner is always excellent , incredible meal for €13, plentiful beef and all fresh veg and potatoes, I highly recommend, the various burgers also look epic, the chef cares about his food. Top notch!

Food was lovely but the waiter was rude and grumpy. My niece ordered a drink for me and I asked if I could have it without ice or lemon. The waiter repeated my request for no ice or lemon and a few minutes later when he brought the drinks to our table my drink had ice and lemon in it. My niece told him that I didn't want ice or lemon in the drink so took the drink back and said in a tone that sounded very grumpy "she didn't ask for no ice or lemon." I feel this waiter could do with a few lessons on how to be more mannerly to customers.

Stayed here a while back. Good price and a nice clean and comfortable room. Good food in the bar and the reception staff were very friendly. Reception desk was unmanned a lot, but all in all a good stay.

What a pleasant stay. Clean, reasonably priced lovely atmosphere and really helpful staff. The breakfast was amazing. If you need a cosy place this one is a winner. Think they could probably charge more.

Being a trucker I skip the Mayfield services at J14 and come here to park up. Though parking is limited for trucks if the hotel is busy but it's still popular with few of the truckers. Nice and Quiet to park at as a trucker.. Bar is great, relaxed and friendly. Had the bar food few times and was great good portions for a hungry driver. Or familys on the road. I did land in one night and the bar had just closed for serving food (about 9pm I think) but the lovely girl behind the bar asked the chef could he help out a hungry trucker!! He certainly did and knocked me up some chicken and chips!! Cant beat that for service ! All well priced food to! They do offer a shower for truckers €5 for a room (only if available) for a shower and rooms always been clean and tidy. Service with a smile and friendly always. There's a little shop here to with a small deli which is grand and to get the scooby snacks for the road. Again shop staff always have been friendly . Cant fault it at all.

Nice coffee and quick food on the go with their deli counter, you can also purchase alcohol here with a selection of wines, beers and spirits available. Toilet facilities are here as well as the option of purchasing fuel. No electric car charging facilities though

Recently had party in The Gandon Inn and would highly commend Donnagh Tracey and his staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Guests stayed in the hotel and they were so well looked after.

got lost on the way back from Banagher Co Offaly and found this gem, called The Gandon Inn. I had a gorgeous dinner and desert which was very well priced. The staff were very efficient and friendly id couldn find any fault with anything and would highly recommend it. well done gandon Inn

Stopped there with a large group this evening, fabulous food (highly recommend the beef), huge portions and brilliant service, would definitely call there again.
