Dropped in for bite to eat on way home from work. Plenty of parking here, restaurant and bar was busy. Had soup (potato & leek) and brown bread, which I was looking forward to and it didn't disappoint. I followed this with apple sponge, cream and ice cream with a cup of tea. This was absolutely gorgeous, sponge really light and fluffy, ice cream was exceptional. Staff also were friendly. I will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay over the October bank holiday. Staff couldn't have done enough for us. Hair salon was brilliant and the pool area was kept to very high standards. Breakfast was generous and the bar food was a very good standard. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stop off... Excellent grub... T-bone, chips and pepper sauce every time! .... Only problem with using as a pit stop is they have the creamiest looking pints and you can't have one. I have to go back and stay for a night some time..

Afternoon tea on sat 12th Feb in your very relaxing lounge for our family get together was beyond class. From the smiley young staff to the dainty sandwiches and very tasty scones and pastries and the endless service, everyone excelled. Even our hungry men were happy. Well done to u all. Thanks fron the Dunne families. Moyne/Sligo/Cork etc.

After finding it very difficult to get dinner in Thurles we drove out to the Horse and Jockey.
There was a queue going in which was fairly long, however, the staff were well organised taking names and details and seat numbers. The queue kept moving and it was worth the wait.
Many young staff and to be fair sometimes that can mean untrained uninterested....but not in the Horse and Jockey, they were super. The young man that served us was prompt, thoughtful and efficient.
You could see all these staff knew what they were doing, nobody standing around !
We had a lovely meal for the five of us and it was a resonable price too. I would definitely recommend this when passing or indeed make the effort and just head out there, you wont be disappointed.
Theres also a fabulous hotel and a quirky giftshop there.
The H&J is a proper gem in the Premier county!!!!

I facilitated a workshop in the Horse And Jockey Hotel which went off without a hitch largely down to the helpful nature and experience of one of their employees, Mary. She couldn't have been more attentive to every need from both me and the group that I was working with. She made the whole experience around the venue seamless and made me feel like there was no request too big or too small. She worked efficiently and in a friendly way, with a can-do positive attitude. She enlisted the help of the reception at one point to print out something for the group for me, again, this wasn't a problem. She was super with the technology and it was clear that she was enjoying helping all of the hotel's guests. Mary made my job much easier because of this. 10/10 for Mary. You've got a start employee there.

Beautiful, colourful hotel. We had afternoon tea, which was fabulous and filling. Went for a swim in the pool and a dip in the jacuzzi, which was a perfect way to spend the late afternoon and then drinks and dinner and a good night's sleep. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, room was comfortable and spotless. The bakery is lovely, such a nice touch and the gift shop has a huge selection of items for kids and adults. Breakfast was great and we were all stuffed! My only regret is that we only stayed one night. I'll be back!

Visit here whenever we are in Ireland. The shop is beautiful. Easy for everyone to find something different, unusual and gorgeous to purchase for a special gift (or for yourself if you're anything like me 😉). Lovely food too.

Called to there for breakfast and for dinner later in the evening. Fantastic and really well managed. Considering the large number of people the staff are highly trained and extremely friendly and calm. Food was really enjoyable .overall it was a lovely experience.

We just had coffee and cakes: man what an array of cakes! really good they were. Very pleasant staff, nice atmosphere and good parking: well worth exiting from the motorway.

We went there for the night with my lovely family, afternoon tea, dinner that evening and breakfast this morning,.we had a fabulous time, so relaxing, food was gorgeous and staff were ever so nice. Highly recommend a stay there.

Myself and my husband spent two nights here. Lovely hotel with most of the staff very helpful and friendly. There was just one girl in the breakfast room that came across rude. She was rushing & racing about the place so much that she was almost throwing our food at us and she seemed to be like that with everyone. The only other downside was that we were on the bottom floor looking out to the carpark, but the thing about that was there are car spaces right outside your rooms window facing into the room. If I was to go again I'd ask for a room on the second floor and preferably at the back. They have lovely swimming pool, a bar, a giftshop, and a small Baker shop which sells local products. Overall a lovely hotel and well worth a stay .
S. J.
Just love this hotel. Service is friendly and unobtrusive. Life here moves at a more leisurely pace so don't be annoyed! Its lovely. Spa and leisure centre clean and welcoming. Bedrooms ready comfy with white bedlinen. Gorgeous! Plus cake shop on site.

A lovely place. Beautiful food, great service, and a very comfortable atmosphere. Brilliant cafe just a mile from the motorway, yet nice and quiet. Highly recommend to all.

If you like old school roast dinners you're in the right place. Haven't stayed here just dined. Easy to get to barely two minutes from main Cork Dublin road. Well worth the two minutes! Like the best places it's not just the food it's the staff. Car parking right by the main entrance, wide double doors but be careful they're a bit heavy. Access perfect for wheelchair users or people with sight issues. Hallway and dining space also roomy. Coffee shop on the way in on the right and gift shop on the left, carry on straight for the bar/diner. Try and get a booth on the left, they're lovely, adds even more to the cosy feel. We had the roast lamb dinner, a berry crumble with cream and coffee. Faultless. I think the Germans would refer to it as "Bauernessen". Hearty and really tasty. Loved the coffee also. Toilets also spotless. I think toilet access near the coffee shop rather than the bar would be easier for wheelchair users. Coffee shop also cosy and large with good coffee. I particularly love going here in the Winter. Lovely sense of history and great staff.
L. V. M. G.
The food here was fab. We had the Roast Leg of Lamb with Mint Sauce, Warm Spiced Chicken, Lentil and Buckwheat Salad, Warm Apple Sponge with Custard and Cream, Summer Berry Bakewell Tart, and the sausage and chips kids meal. I love the interiors of the hotel. The staff were all nice and polite. The service was fast. The public toilet was also extremely clean. They also had quite a large space for parking
D. J. H.
Yeah so I vist the jockey on regular basis, as it is very near where I live , so I always go for the T-bone ,at 30e it's good value because it literally take s the whole plate, plus staff are friendly, plus your not waiting half the evening for it, big shout out too Ali in coffee Dock, some worker😁
V. R.
My first time here in a few years and still as good as ever. Friendly staff and tasty food.

We ate in the Forge which had zero distancing and was essentially indoor dining despite that not being allowed.
Tables were on top of each other in a shed with little ventilation. The waitress had to hold on to my chair to squeeze past to the next table it was so tight. Masks were not being worn by guests.
If you are stopping here, the bakery at the front is completely outside and well spaced out, just avoid the Forge.
M. F.
Lovely hotel, nice big rooms and a beautiful bed. 2 nice mugs for tea which makes a change from little cups. Nice room service menu. Staff very friendly, and everything was clean and constantly being kept that way. Will be back again.

I have eaten here twice in The Forge and have to say the staff are fabulous, very poliand have excellent customer service. I had a medium 10 Oz steak on 13th July and it was perfect, juicy but cooked to my liking.
M. D.
Good food good price..Nice staff.
A. D.
Great hotel, rooms and pool. Food was delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner especialy with the waiter who served us was very helpful due to dietry requirements was back & forth to the kitchen to verify if certain things contained lactose or eggs. The only thing that let them down was staff training seemed a little all over the place, not enough time to train them properly and unsure of what was going on like it was the 1st time they had done it and this wasnt help either by a supervisor who was barking orders at them & realy having a go at some of them when it was obvious they were under pressure & not properly trained. Overall great experience had there & would defo come back again. Would have given 5 stars but for the reason above with the staff
j. c.

We were on our way back from Dublin so we stopped for a bite to eat, I had the Chicken and ham and it was lovely but my wife and daughter ordered the steak salad and they were really disappointed in it, they got 4 pieces of small diced steak and thought the salad wasn't the best. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff very friendly. Nice pool. Could not fault it
L. K.
Dropped in on way to Cork! Excellent service and presentation.
K. D.
Wonderful spacious, clean, bright bedroom. Everything catered for, tea/coffee, ironing board, T.V, safe etc. Comfy spotless beds. Quality of food both at lunchtime in the bar and evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. However, breakfast was a big let down. Stale bread and dried out food, scrambled eggs looked old and fried ones were hard. Staff friendly but really could do with sprucing up their appearance, especially the bar staff. Dining room could do with a good make over as its a little shabby. Overall, we had a lovely time and I would definitely return.
A. B.
Beautiful food and amazing service . Stop off for a coffee and sandwich or dinner. Lovely deserts , bake shop in the hotel .

Great place to stop heading to Cork. Great food, lovely giftshop & friendly staff
J. C.
Great spot to stop on Dublin Cork road. Good honest food well priced. Can be very busy but service is well organised. Not at all far off main road with plenty of parking. Beats fast food service stops hands down.
a. s.
Had the most beautiful rhubarb tart and coffee here today, would have ordered a 2ns slice but he who is a health freak was with me. Great service and staff absolutely wonderful. All wearing masks and sanitizer everywhere. Would strongly recommend this place.

Food was lovely and came very quick, desert was also homemade very nice. For a friday afternoon nice atmosphere with open fires going. Docked one star due to no one checking on us during meal and having to call a waitress to clear our plates when it was not busy at this time was the only let down felt ignored.
E. K.
Very easy and helpful booking made. Check in was easy, polite and quick. Common areas are clean and tasteful. Rooms are very decorated and spacious. Large choice on the restaurant menu and the overall ambiance is relaxed and pleasant. All the staff are pleasant and friendly.
E. M.
Stayed here (Again and Again! Annually! ) for two nites for a ME little break away! Compliments of my Hubbie...he gets a Break from Me 🙄 ! Fab helpful & friendly staff! Isobel O Brien is Always So helpful with Any queries! Food is very tasty, especially their Spicy chicken wings. Would not hesitate recommending this hotel to Anyone....😊

I am hugely impressed with the Horse & Jockey on the outskirts of Thurles just off the Cork/Dublin motorway. I have had lunch and dinner here a few times and delivered training in their meeting rooms - haven't had opportunity to stay over yet. The building is modern and well maintained, the staff are friendly and the food is great. Would definitely recommend.
P. H. C.
Great staff great food ....

There was absolutely nothing that I could fault this hotel on last weekend. We have a fab stay and the food and staff just make this place a hidden gem! Well done to ye all. Will definitely be back!
j. k.
Really nice hotel with great friendly staff. Spa & pool are lovely, food & beer great and reasonably priced. Had a good relaxing weekend there. Unfortunately not a whole lot to do in the surrounding areas due to covid but worth it anyway.
C. H.
We enjoyed stopping here for breakfast on our way from Dublin airport, on the way to Cobh. Nice buffet, choice of cooked meats, sausage, and bacon. Lots of cereal and granola. Delicious coffee (and tea). The ambiance was pleasant, and while the waitstaff didn’t really warm up until our 6month old granddaughter came in, our sever worked out well in the end
F. O. H.
visited here recently to meet a friend. the hotel was very easy accessed off the M8 motorway. Parking was plentiful. the lobby area was spacious and lots of comfy seats with a fire lighting for heat. got coffee and scone and the service and choice was good. lots of people passing through both business people and holiday makers. when my friend arrived we headed to the bar area for lunch. it was quite busy and a good choice of meals on the menu. The toilets were immaculate and spacious. The staff were friendly. would recommend as a stop off when travelling South to Cork or North to Dublin. I would definitely stop here again😃😃😃
A. L. (. G.
A cozy place that I’ve regularly gone to for the last 7 years. I’ll always go to the bar and grab food there, it’s always fresh and tasty with delightful staff.
C. F.
Was there for a conference and very impressed with the facilities. Large lecture style room. Outside that there were lots of cozy alcoves where small groups of 3-4 people could meet for small meetings. I had heard lots of people meet here as a sort of mid point between Cork and Dublin and I can see why.
J. L.
very good service staff were very friendly
S. H.
I have purchased from the little shop in this hotel it has some quaint little pieces ...a wee bit expensive though. There are a few seating areas one with a little coffee dessert station.... any time I was there they have ample car parking facilities.... we ate from a bar menu which once again for my meal was a little over priced 17.20 for a chicken dinner but in fairness it was nice the food was hot and tasty. The service was also quick and attentive. I would return to this hotel.
N. K.
Absolutely gorgeous food. Beautiful hotel inside and out. I've rarely met staff as kind and helpful as they were. The staff alone make this place a worthwhile stop and a 5 star review. It's a great place to stop on a long motorway drive too.
S. K.
Staff were a delight to deal with & very helpful. It was very clean. Food was superb. Even had a swim & Jacuzzi. A lovely warm hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
S. O. M.
Lovely hotel with a great cafe / lobby area for afteenoon tea, catch ups etc full of big couches and armchairs. Great selection of cakes and sandwiches. The bar does full main courses and hot lunches also.
There is a lovely gift shop within the hotel also which sells beautiful local arts and crafts that is worth a visit.
A. M.
Warm cosy atmosphere despite being a huge place, warm fires burning throughout the hotel on a freezing night. Food just excellent, from starters to mains to deserts, everything was delicious & such great value. Service pleasant, prompt & attentive. We would highly recommend this restaurant /hotel & will definitely visit again, 10/10 or 5 stars👍
D. K.
Good stop on the Dublin road
Will be back

A great find and quality hotel.
Good Wi-fi, friendly well presented staff.
Quiet rooms, well laid out and thought gone into the presentation.
Power Shower was fantastic.
Let down by quality of duvet, pillows and mattress.
Gym is good not too busy and the spa is in good working order.
P. B.
Good journey pit stop point for tea, coffee, sandwiches and cake! Primarily cake. Full dinner menu available, good pub standard. Haven't stayed in hotel but has a swimming pool and gym.
M. P.
Nice food. Nicely decorated
C. V.
We stayed here en-route as part of a nostalgic road trip to Ireland. Great location and facilities. Comfortable and well appointed room with air conditioning. Staff were very nice and professional. I left valuables in the safe in error and when I realised three days later I rang the hotel to see if they had been handed in. To my delight they had been so I just want to say a huge thank you to the housekeeping staff and receptionist who re-united me with my belongings. I would definitely stay again.
C. W.
Love this place. Nice pictures on walls and loved The Forge as eating venue.😁
K. C.
Stayed this weekend. It’s a fab hotel with food to die for.

Love the horse and jockey the food is really nice and it is lovely place to go and you can relax later after your meal around the lobby with a nice drink from the bar or even have a cup of tea or coffee
M. F.
Wonderful Hotel for so many reasons. Food is top notch and very reasonable. From the time you arrive you are made feel welcome, rooms are lovely if a bit warm at times. The Maitre D in the restaurant at breakfast is fantastic. This was only our third time there over a year and he remembered us and welcomed us back. It's these little touches that endears a place to you. Fantastic seating areas all around the hotel, lovely pool. Just an all round fantastic place to say whether its for one night or for a weekend, highly recommend it.
J. L.
Very friendly, reasonable and really clean!!!
a. d.
Nice hotel and bar food is good they also have a nice little coffee shop with home baked cakes and scones didn't stay over so can't comment on rooms but the place is spotless clean

I.
Generally clean and bright accommodation with good food and service.
R. N.
Visited for lunch. Soup average. Bread, scones and cake absolutely excellent. Staff nice.
Toilets very disappointing for a hotel. Ill fitting toilet seats, broken locks on doors, poor decor. refurb badly needed.
T. F. M.
Great place to stop off for a bite to eat especially if you are traveling on the motorway. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is good. It has a bar and restaurant. Conference and meeting rooms and a leisure centre and gym

T. D.
Fantastic stay. Had a family room which was spacious & suited the needs of 2 adults & 2 children. The pool was lovely & kids had a great time. Had dinner in the bar which was delicious. We will definately return.
M. C.
Spa is beautiful.. Great day out..
j. t.
Food lovely and a handy place off the motorway to eat. We had our two kids with us who were well behaved, on leaving I noticed a sign saying kids must b seated at all times. This for me puts me off returning as the atmosphere is not one that displays child friendly.
G. E.
found H&J about 10 years ago, by accident. have returned quite a few times, its an excellent hotel with excellent facilities, foods always good at either the restaurant or the bar and the craics always mighty. I would have no problems recommending this place
L. K.
One of my favourite places to stay. You don't have tO leave the hotel at all. Wander round the beautiful unique crafted gifts in the shop, or take in the smells of the bakery. The laid back food in the bar is as tasty as the smart restaurant. Lounge in the bar or take one of the many quite spots, or head to the leisure center for work out or swim. Only hotel I've gone back to 3 times
C. W.
Stayed here on Saturday night with family.
Celebrating a wedding anniversarybrilliant place.
Untill got to our room my cousins all in our room talking and next door started banging the wall, totally no call for it very disappointing.
Couldn't believe it.
I. S.
Perfect place to meet halfway between Dublin and Cork or to stop and refresh on the way to either county or in between. Lovely country / homemade feel about the place and just off the motorway... good food and lovely setting.... check out the bakery 😁👍
L. L.

D. 3.
It’s best in the place but not five star level
R. M.
Uncomfortable beds. Nice staff. Great tv, though no dvd players (bring your own). Toilets not so clean. Tatty menus + dodge punctuation in menus. Some food excellent, some bland.
C. K.
Visit here regularly when travelling to and from West Cork. A great spot. Super staff. Lost a star because we arrived at 4pm last Sunday and were told we were too late, the roast finished at 4pm even though they were still serving it to people around us.
A. K.
This has to be one of the too 10 hotels in Ireland.
It's conviently placed between Dublin and Cork and is a minute from the Motorway.
On arrival you begin to get a sense how big this place is.
It has everything - a great bar and restaurant, super well equipped rooms, an indoor pool, gym, and Spa. It also has its own in-house bakery and a great coffee bar. You can also book a conference room or two if you need one.
Tom and his team work hard to ensure you enjoy your stay and it comes thoroughly recommended.
f. m.
Awesome foods and awesome drinks and I give it 10/10
J. O. M.
Beautiful place for lunch and dinner, very kind and helpful staff there, lovely food.
P. N.
Great place to stop on a journey, only a few minutes off the Motorway. Had coffee in the foyer, on a very cosy couch in front of a fire. Friendly staff. Much better alternative to a busy Motorway service station!
E. C.

The horse and jockey is a very good spot to stop of en route from Dublin to Cork, just off the M8 close to Thurles. It is also a good destination in its own right for a night away especially groups. The facilities include the original bar featuring photos of many famous jockeys, cafe area, restaurant, pool and spa. There are also meeting rooms that can be booked. The bedrooms are spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is also reasonably good.
G. L.
Beautiful walled area at back and a very spacious area.
K. B.
It's an lovely old style/ new style hotel ,food excellent had a great time, would highly recommend it.
T. T.
Great staff, always accommodating, some vegan options if ask for food without cheese/meet but would be fantastic if they actually had vegan alternatives like vegan cheese. Still, fab place. And great shop on premises.
P. W.
Stayed here at the end of November. Impressed with the dinner and choice of wines. Room was comfortable, if a bit too warm overnight (could have regulated the temperature but too lazy to do so). Handy for the motorway. Helpful staff.
A. L.
Food was good but my 10 year old got a full sized dinner when we asked for kids portion. Also, I asked for a coffee but never got it, not charged but would have liked it nonetheless.
a. g.
Really good place. Lots to do. Food in the bar really plentiful and tasty. Staff very helpful and friendly
M. R.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly. One of the better places to stop at before going you go to Limerick. Lots of parking.
Food is fantastic great selection and good prices too.
P. H.
We stopped in Horse and Jockey on our way from Cork to Dublin. It is an ideal location for a break with a bar, restaurant and coffee shop . The fare is excellent and We would always make it our mid journey stopover. Recommended and has convenient parking.
C. N. F.
Great food, super friendly staff. Really nice gift shop!
E. L.
Nice hotel and good food
L. W.
Fantastic food, gorgeous atmosphere, lovely staff, wonderful art on the walls. A really great place. Thanks!
P. J.
Staff where fantastic & rooms where lovely.
C. r.
Had a meal here tonight and we were disappointed. Firstly the bar staff were rude no please or thanks. Practically slammed the drinks on the counter. There was twelve of us for the dinner and we found the restaurant staff very unaccomadating. Food wasn't nice. I won't be going back
A. M.
Always nice cater for everyones needs with two small girls under 5 great family rooms and they loved the swimming pool. The food is always beautiful when we visit will be back again
A. H.
Very busy hotel but they look after their customers 100%
J. M.
Landmark premises. 10 out of 10 for food and comfort, easy to get to from the Cork/Dublin motorway.
m. o. d.
lovely place for a stop on route Dublin to Cork excellent treats
E. H.
Delighted with it. Even though it was packed Sunday evening we sat at the bar and were served our food very quickly it was delicious and reasonably priced.
C. F.
Food was lovely.nice friendly service and also value for money.only bad thing there was no air conditioning so room was extremely hot.
S. G.
With temperatures in the high 20's its a bit pointless leaving large parasols closed while your customers swelter
G. O. C.
Really lovely food and the place was packed but the food came out super fast. Well done to ye guys.
S. G.
Excellent Hotel great food and spacious rooms. nice bright outside area to sit and relax with a drink only downside is it is a bit remote but if you have a car it is perfect for exploring with loads to see and do in the area
F. G.
We enjoyed our stay here. Staff v friendly, rooms v comfy. Food lovely. Need more staff on bank holidays sunday.waiting ages to be served. Would visit again thou.
J. M. C.
Very good service was good 👍
C. C.
One of the best standalone places to stop and rest and dine on that long Dublin - Cork motorway run. A stone's throw from the exit, the pub grub is fast, tasty and good value, whether it's snack, lunch or just a quick cuppa and pit stop. Roomy and comfy, with interesting racing and Tipperary GAA themed decor. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can be very busy at times, as it's a popular stop but even then, the wait isn't overlong. Plenty of parking onsite. Hotel and leisure centre are a new(ish) development, look good but haven't stopped long enough to explore.
J. B.
Very cosy and welcoming hotel. Our room was warm, clean and spacious and our evening meal and breakfast were also excellent. Staff were very friendly.
S. Q.
Got the steak sandwich, it was quite tasty. Relatively good service, decor outdated but not a reflection of the service and food.
D. C.
Handy spot for a break off the motorway -pretty close. Beinf expanded. We stopped there for coffee and a snack. Service not too snappy, but two hefty cups of good Americano arrived soon. Alas, they forgot about the pastry order. However, a second staffer turned the situation around, once notified.
M. P.
Perfect. Rooms, restaurant, bars, staff, all 5/5.
C. O. B.
Was treated to afternoon tea . It was delicious . So fresh and plenty of things to eat and tea and coffee galore. Would strongly recommend it. I will be going again.
O. C.
It was fine. Overpriced for what we got (soup and a sandwich) and wasn't blown away either by the portion sizes or the taste. It would do if you're hungry and nearby.
C. M.
Very good food, and perfectly placed on our road from Dublin to West Cork 😉
F. M. G.
Great place to stay, food was very good and the waiters and bar staff could not do enough for you. Front of house were also very helpful.
c. s.
Beautiful meal. Staff A1. Very friendly atmosphere from the door in.
Going here for years and still recommending it to my friends. Thank you all Up Tipp !!
R. K.
Wonderful experience. Spa is fabulous. Michelle in the spa was wonderful and made me feel very at ease and relaxed!
Food is wonderful here too.
D. B.
We are Dublin based and have been stopping here when going to and coming from holidaying in West Cork for many years. Good food, pleasant staff, reasonable prices. Good place.
S. M.
It’s a venue I use sometimes for business meetings. If you’re coming from the Waterford direction it’s a bit of a cross country hike and the better road is via Clonmel.
Food is nice here.
R. S.
Stayed here for one night on the way back to Kildare after running a marathon in Cork. We stayed in the superior double room which was very cosy with a comfortable bed and a nice large bath. The barfood was exceptional and I was impressed with the drinks selection including White Gypsy which is a Tipp favourite. Staff were very friendly and a real cosy spot to stay with a great gym/pool/spa. They provide afternoon tea and have an in-house bakery with gift shop.
M. M.
We had a beautiful lunch in the bar.as usual top class.we have never been disappointed in this hotel. Very accomadating staff and plenty of them.
M. H.
Lovely decor, friendly staff and fabulous food. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars was because we were waiting a bit too long for our food...
L. S.
Great service and lovely staff. Yummy food 👍👍
D. O.
Really nice hotel with nice old world bar/snugs. Food is excellent and only excelled by the service. The staff are really nice people who seem to be determined to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
m. l.
Good food but where we sat was a very cold spot.
S. M.
Had a fab BLT here on route to Cork. Lovely brunch. Fab bakery inside. Worth a stop.
M. H.

L.
Great service and great quality food for price, highly recommended when breaking up travel in Ireland 🇮🇪
T. G.
Old fashioned homely pub with a relaxed and friendly ambience with clean toilets and appealling shop. Maybe should be five stars but it would not appeal to the yuppie set
N. C.
Food was lovely but our server was not very welcoming nor friendly.
g.
Great food and drink, lovely rooms except the room was uncomfortably hot at night which I had to leave window open all night during a storm
P. E.
Really enjoy our stay. Have gone back fir the last four years on 1st January fir a few days break. I excellent staff and service
K. L.
We stop at Horse and Jockey each time we travel by car simply because of service ambience and food.
Yesterday I missed a really personable cheery lady who was hopefully on her day off but all staff are nice and competent
M. P.
The bakery on site is absolutely delicious! Great service, their meeting rooms are always fantastic.
J. D. D.
Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Quantity was lacking, the potatoe portion was really small but tasty. Also a roast potatoe would have been a nice touch.
S. C.
Had a lovely meal here. Great service and beautiful food.
G. D.
On way to Cork from Dublin and pulled in to have some lunch. Very affordable fare, very homely food, just what was needed really, definitely best place to get a bite to eat en-route between Ireland's largest cities.

S. Z.
Really lovely bar for a quick lunch. Enjoyed the Irish stew so much! Definitely worth a visit!
J. G.
A bit far out of town.. Nice bar and food etc.. Nice and quiet but you will need a taxi if you want to venture further but the girls on reception will order one one...
T. F.
Nice food, good price. Clean, friendly, always stop there if we're passing on a journey.
L. C.
Half way between cork and Dublin good spot to stop for lunch or supper fab food and excellent staff can be busy don't let that put you off they will get you a table quickly and efficiently
S. D.
Lovely hotel, cosy seating, delicious scones and tea. Friendly staff.
Only issue was that staff were slow to clear vacant tables.
N. F.
We didn't stay at the hotel, but had coffee in the Bakery coffee shop. In a few words the scones are to die for, no wonder they have won awards. The gift shop is full of really nice gifts even if it was a little expensive for us.
M. M.

We stayed the 17th and 18th of March paddy's snowy weekend, beautiful hotel in the middle of no where 10 mins to casel and 10 mins to Thurles, hotel is very big lots of different seating areas, full of couches to sit on besides cosy fires, there's lovely coffee tea cakes and buns area to sit and relax, there's is also a horse and jockey gift shop full of wonderful gifts, all seating places have lovely fires surrounding them to sit chat and relax, food is excellent but a little costly, bedrooms are spacious, comfortable, and quiet and up to date bathroom is modern with all elemis toiletries which adds a lovely touch, all staff at the horse and jockey are very welcoming and nice , a beautiful spa, hair dressers here and a lovely swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, hydro pool here over all all very relaxing stay will definitely come back here again
J. M.
I think it is a good stopping off point to take a break on your way to cork or the south of the country and coming back to Dublin,by the way the food is excellent and the hotel is very good value if you wanted to stay the night,
