Absolutely recommend!! Had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and salad, wedges on the side 🤤 Was Soo tastey. ❤️ I'd the red velvet cake for dessert which I shared with my friend coz their portions are definitely share size. I just love this spot. Have my Saturday morning ritual. After training, pop in for Oats and Peppermint Tea. Also LOVE their Ampersand brunch option. Which is Beetroot Humus, Avocado and Poached Eggs on toasted Sourdough. Amazing! Can get very busy between 11 & 3 so the earlier or later the better.

Delicious breakfast. Menu items not consistent across the branches though. The Ampersand is a favourite of mine from Limerick branches but it was a completely different meal in Waterford. Still tasty but not quite as good. Service attentive and friendly. Loads of parking so handy for meetups.

We came here for breakfast with work last week and the food was amazing, great atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu is great with a very good selection, not your typical breakfast menu. It was so good that we decided to go again this week and it will probably be our go to place for breakfast or lunch when we decide to get out of the office for a break.

I love this place and food is really tasty and amazing but as a barista with over 20 years of experience I need to say that coffee is terrible and though I always specifically ask staff for not burned and overboiled coffee that is exactly what I get. Coffee is not a tea !

We had an excellent gluten free Full Irish Breakfast at Hook and Ladder Restaurant this morning. Fresh Rosemary saute potatoes and large mushrooms grilled were delicious. Nice friendly staff and happy atmosphere. Good value too.

I had a really nice lunch in this restaurant. It's furniture is unique and original, and their food is well served. I didn't particularly like the cous cous though, everything else was delicious, even the desserts (I had a lovely hot brownie).

+ The food is Lovely. nice building 😃 + Most of the staff were very pleasant - Wouldn't recommend visiting after 4pm cause they will be starting to close. 😐 - I was here without my other half, for a late breakfast/early lunch on a Wednesday recently, arriving at 11:50 to be told, "I've no table's but the breakfast bar is available" (I had no prob with the fact it was busy, as it always is) The Breakfast bar uses high stools, personally I find high stools uncomfortable so I said "no it's ok I'll wait for a table and im in no rush" I might add the COUPLE that arrived after me were not offered the breakfast bar. Then I saw the whole of upstairs was empty, so I asked about being seated up their, to which I was told "it's not open YET". The lady made it so obvious that she would not waste a table on a person dining alone. In the end I was seated at a sharing table. I was just looking for some place to have a nice break and some lovely food. All the food was indeed lovely but the treatment from entering to getting a table was less than desirable. 😕

Outside selling firewood on the side of the road Waterford, just close to the hook and ladder restaurant where I get my weekly fix of coffee and great soups. Today with storm Denis the menis I did not get time to breathe. A special delivery from Tonya of beautiful homemade red pepper soup and homemade seeded brown bread “my favourite “... on her break. What a service. Thank you sooo much for making my day as I’m drowned to the skin wet and cold and now I’m smiling. Only the best from the best 😍🥰

Always go in hoping that this time it will be good but it never happens. As an graduate of hotel management all be it many years ago, it irks me that the lack of finesse and training does not even exist. If you get that right the rest will follow. And what's this about tap water and filtered water!!!! (which is €1). That's prob to cover the cost of the special bottle!! it comes in. If you are going to offer this, at least have the decency to explain it when taking the order. I could go on and on, but what's tge point, definitely won't be back after today's experience. Its a pity,

Just finished an Italian course with Paul Power, I had a very enjoyable experience with a lovely group. The facilities are great and Paul is excellent and very helpful and friendly,. These courses are well worth attending a most enjoyable evening.

I found the staff that I came across very friendly and pleasant. However there was no alternative offered for those that have intolerances to Gluten and Wheat other than what I could buy in the supermarket, confectionary wise and I was not going to buy these at over inflated prices for the privilege of sitting down. Hook and Ladder has become expensive to eat here. I wouldn't have to visit here again.

Nice niche coffee shop in a business Park.. Cosy interior, and all the items on display around the premises are for sale.. Plenty of seating as they have an upstairs section.. Great selection of homemade desserts and tarts.. Unfortunately low rating as recently their coffee isn't the greatest, very bitter.. Disappointing considering its a cafe

Best Chicken and Bacon Caeser salad ever. Have tried many, but they have not been beaten yet in my opinion. Went back recently for the Chicken Caesar, I didn't think they could improve it, but, wow, they did. Absolutely superb, good portions of chicken & bacon in the salad. Came with a thick slice of their own homemade brown bread. Missus had the Scampi and Skin on Fries with Mushy peas & Tartar sauce , was delicious, served fresh and hot, and plenty on the plate. 🐔🥓😋👌 Service was excellent, very friendly & efficient staff, and excellent prices, very reasonable. P.S. Have to complement them on their coffee, irbis superb. ☕👍

The place is good, I ordered a scone which is a crunchy muffin on the outside, very typical of these parts, and it was delicious, you could tell that it was handmade that same day. Another day I tried the falafel and I didn't like it at all, it was like softness, it seemed like it was microwaved. Then I found out that they don't do fried food in this place and of course, the falafel has to be fried a little so that it takes on body. They are not supposed to make fried foods so that it is healthier, but then they make some cakes that obviously have a lot of sugar, very delicious by the way. I didn't like the detail of the fried foods contrasted with the sugary cakes. If your policy is to make everything healthy, then make it all healthy, but don't spoil a recipe because of an inconsistency. For this reason alone I don't give them five stars.
