Lovely little tea house. Great selection of teas. Come when they have food. Saw the menu and will have to come back.
Update: went back for dinner and a live jazz show. What an amazing place this is. Well worth the trek when in Waterford.

Classic vintage tea room. Lovely building Serves tea, alcohol and food. Went with friends we only had drinks, but the food seemed nice.
Lovely decor and friendly staff.. Lovely place for date, catching up with friends, or a night out

Went here for because I saw there was Jazz on, (apparently it's on every Friday), I was absolutely blown away by the performers and staff inside. Great atmosphere, incredible musical showmanship/talent, and amazing staff who make sure you're kept care of.
Will definitely be coming back here when I'm in Waterford again for a weekend! Had an amazing time!!

Very nice place. Food was good simple menu all home made.

A little gem. My wife and I took a chance on this place while on a night over in Waterford City. Two lovely big rooms serving teas, Coffee, wines, and beers. Draught Guinness and Larger too. There is food available also. The decor and atmosphere is very vintage and a lovely throw back to the 1940’s(ish). Came back later in the night to see a local jazz band and amazing singer! Really enjoyed this place. Staff were lovely and we look forward to our return visit.

My first Time visiting Waterford. I love it.
I Visited The Parlour Tea rooms with a friend and
Its set in one of Waterford's historic buildings. Its a place to to take you back in time and you can shut out the modern world with its design and beautiful decor.
The staff are so friendly and the Food is home made and so delightful .
Its definitely worth a visit. Give yourself a little treat when you visit this amazing city.

We only recently celebrated our wedding reception at the Parlour and it was just beautiful and elegant in every way. A perfect night all round.
Thank you to our lovely host and her staff. Take a bow. We will most definitely be back for tea and lunch whenever the opportunity arises.
John & Katherina.

Great place. Amazing artisan antique atmosphere and the standards played in the background. Sarah Jane (owner) has made a novel landmark on the face of Waterford City. Great food, amazing desserts, fantastic teas and even better coffees, The Parlour is easily a staple for any true person with class, style and pizazz! - Rev. Lady Cristina Yemayá Gutierrez

Interesting place, beautiful interior and dishes. The tea is delicious. Makes you want to come back

Found this place at the end of our day out and loved it. The tearoom is magical from the minute you walk in. The music, all the vintage pictures, the memorabilia and the friendly staff make this a wonderful place for tea or something to eat. Would highly recommend it.

For something different and a bit special this is the place. Beautiful building and rooms, great 20 s , 30 s , 40 s vibe going on and the staff seem to enjoy working there aswell, good as it gets, couldn't reccomend it enough!!!!!!!

April 2018, i was invited to a tea by my former photography teacher to this place. Though I am not a tea person I decided to give it a try and joined the rest of class to this place, outside it looked like any other random place but alas the inside of it, is like a sanctuary of souls yearning for finer taste, souls trying to piece the past and future life.
Yes the place is so classic, quiet and Inviting, rich in history, literatures, photographs and all memorabilia. I was left speechless and wished that the place could be open for every soul to explore. But the beauty of this place wouldn’t have been possible without their lovely staff.
It’s worth a recommendation. Looking forward for another tea ☕️ even though I am not a tea person but this place could make one befriend event that which he/she may consider an arch enemy

Absolutely love this place. Oooooooooooodles of character. The decor, an eclectic mix of 19th century and early 20th century European "stuff" creates an environment you could easily wile hours away over the tasty drinks and food. Definitely, stop by and enjoy the buzz.

Really alternative cafe and i don't think you'd find friendlier staff anywhere else. Very busy when we went in on a Saturday but we were seated quickly. The food was lovely, big portionsband priced fairly.
You can get wraps, pizzas, blaas, soup and sandwiches and there are plenty of different teas and cakes available too. Would definitely come again.

Beautiful olde world atmosphere here in an equally interesting setting. Eclectic mix of furniture used for customer dining. Very friendly service. Very relaxing place to go for a quiet unhurried coffee or light lunch. Bring people here for a unique experience any time of day. Love the entrance steps and hallway. Has become a tourist attraction in its own right. Just reopened. It's a gem!

Please note this review is specifically for the Tipple Room, as part of The Parlour.
After dinner we went looking for somewhere nice to have a drink, and we discovered the Tipple Room. It wasn't crowded, the decor was vintage-kitsch, the lighting was soft, and the atmosphere was very friendly. Wine and beer were served, and there was soft live music.
Highly recommended to anyone above 30, looking for an evening chatting with friends.

Wonderful atmosphere. A fantastic place to enjoy an afternoon. The decorations and paintings are lovely and add a perfect vintage touch. I find a new little treasure every time I go.
S. H.
Quirky beautiful little tea room. Had a wonderful lunch here. The staff were really pleasant and the atmosphere was really special.

Lovely afternoon tea. Really friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.
T. O.
Staff were informative and cordial. The food was nice, we had quiche. The atmosphere was relaxed with old blues and jazz music in the background to enhance the Vintage ambience.
It’s a nice old building with something old and retro to stare at every angle.
Staff were decked out in suitably vintage clothing.
Would recommend.

Beautiful place! The gorgeous jazz music walking down the street caught my ear, and I saw a man sitting by the window, it looked so picturesque! So we went in and had lovely service from the woman. Very vintage and artsy. Will definitely be visiting again next time we come to Waterford.
K. M.
Everyone should support this wonderful experience of a local business. Can't wait to return.

It's just lovely to sit down and eat somewhere where such thought has been put into the aesthetic and ambiance. The owners' care and style here contributes to a terrific menu of 'pure food' massively. Great flavours in agorgeous vintage setting, don't miss this cafe and tea room if in Waterford.

A must see. If only to view the spiral staircase with stunning lantern. ( See photo). Outstanding building and interior with wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is excellent, salad is out of this world and cookies and cream waffles were a big hit with the kids. Carrot cake was as tasty as it was indulgent. Lunch for family of 4 was very reasonable. Will be back again.

We were here for a 60th birthday celebration, such a gorgeous and intimate venue that comfortably accommodates a large crowd. Very friendly staff.
B. S.
Very special atmosphere - lovely place in Waterford to take a break! Owner is extremely friend & helpful. They have a wonderful selection of loose leaf tea and they really take their time to advise you. Can only recommend!
S. K.
Very cosy place and familiar staff. Right in the middle of Waterford CIty.
M. K.
Great coffee . The place is great. You get transported back in time. Love the place. You have to visit.
R. V.
Amazing place to visit for a cup of coffee and find yourself in 1920 ies.

Beautiful!!! My family had been in Ireland a few days, and we decided to check out Waterford. The description of this café intrigued me, as it proposed a return back in time. Stepping inside is really like entering a different world. It's a sumptuous fantasy. The staff is also wonderful, and the food lovely. They were super-accommodating of our special requests (a couple of vegetarians in the bunch who really wanted the veggie sandwich on Waterford's local bread BLAA rather than the normal sourdough) and the cakes were amazing down to the whipped cream, which was fresh-made and delicious. Just don't forget your camera!
A. W.
An authentic place that puts you back in 60s where the mood the colors the furniture even the waitress are dressed according to this era. Tasty food and very good coffee and dessert. The best place to enjoy your coffee with a warm chat. And for who loves homemade pizza, you should try the pizza menu here, it's just fantastic!
G. C.
Walked past this place last night when we were visiting the town. Popped on to their website as we were intrigued. There is a great video on the site and it looked fab. However the experience we found didn't match that of the video. We saw they did afternoon tea and had hoped for that. However we were told you needed to order 24 hours in advance. This sadly isn't mentioned on their website. It just said on request. To be honest the whole experience overall was somewhat underwhelming. It didn't feel special, it didn't feel different enough to a normal cafe. I had expected overall a more authentic experience. Mismatched chairs, mismatched crockery, prepackaged jam and tea served in a coffee pot rather than a tea pot don't reflect the era terribly accurately. The building was beautiful and to be honest was more impressive that the Parlour. It isn't a tea room, it's a cafe like any other in the town. The food menu didn't have anything to make the place stand out and i was disappointed to see pizza as one of the main offerings. On a plus, the staff were nice and the scone we had was tasty and warm which was lovely. Just not my cup of tea I'm afraid.

Great coffee , atmosphere , ambience
D. F.
I love the atmosphere of this place. It's everything you would expect from a proper tea room. They got it spot on. It's very popular and I can see why. The food is first class. Very friendly place. Go there, it won't disappoint.
M. H.
I had the most delicious sourdough sandwich, toasted to perfection. The decor was so elegant. The staff were lovely and there was a great selection in the menu. There was a lovely ambiance.

I only discovered the Parlour Vintage tea room today. I was not expecting the decor inside. Think of your granny's front room..... Wonderful place for coffee or a bite to eat. Relaxing & intriguing place to stop. Staff very friendly. Will definitely visit again.
A. M.
Beautiful hidden gem in Waterford city center.
Excellent staff and lovely food.
Waitresses very attentive and helpful.
Couldn't compliment Sarah Jane and her mum Jane highly enough they went above and beyond for us and especially my elderly grandmother.... it was like a trip down memory lane for her. ❤
Thankyou so much again

Went in today to have lunch with my dad, had a goats cheese and fig pizza to split and I had a falafel wrap while he had a ceaser salad. The food was lovely and fresh and the interior of the building is really interesting and nicely done. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Waterford.

Nothing short of magic from the moment you set foot in this place!! The coffee is fantastic, the food is great and everything is affordable. Enjoy a conversation with the visitors which are always a mixture of travelers and locals in this historic building that stood for over two hundred years as a staple in the Waterford community. Don't forget to try a vanilla slice and check out the brilliant Victorian staircase!!
P. S.
Vintage tea rooms, as the name suggest. Fav cafe /meet up spot in town.

Beautiful space with so much history, character and charm. Very friendly service and lively atmosphere. You can see why it's so popular!
B. R.
The old harbour masters house has been converted into a Victorian tea room complete with ageing artifacts from the era. Lots of sticky sugary cakes and buns, lashings of hot tea and coffee and a typical quiet atmosphere in which to take a break from the busy town centre of Waterford
K. O.
Amazing place you forget that you are in today's world so quickly with the brilliant setting. They put on special events monthly based on the twenties with a fantastic live band The Speak Easys

(Translated) For me, one of the best places in Waterford to have a coffee. Its decoration is excellent and do not forget when you go to the bathroom, look at the doors and especially in the restoration they have done in the staircase and the wonderful dome they have left.
