Small café right next to the botanical gardens, which makes it a must-go when you‘re visiting the gardens. Some signs with friendly quotes greet you before you enter. The café itself does not offer any seating at the moment (although indoor seating is allowed again?) - that‘s not too bad though, as long as the weather is nice you can drink your coffee (that was very good btw) on one of the lawns closeby. Besides coffee they also offer a selection of baked goods and products like jam. I really like the location and the old building the café is in, gives it a very nice atmosphere.

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. I asked for a table and was told that they were full. Immediately thereafter a table came free and someone who had not bothered to ask immediately took the table. I was left feeling quiet annoyed about this. This is a pity because previously I have enjoyed visiting the cafe but today the staff were different.

I love the gardens there in all seasons and even in autumn, it's lovely! Pity the house hasn't been restored yet but hopefully it will come. We had lunch in the cafe and even thus it was late on a monday afternoon with only a handfull if customers, the food was fresh, with a wide choice and absolutely delicious! The staff was friendly to the extreme and made you feel welcome and wanting to come back! Everywhere was.clean and sparkling, with a special mention to the public toilets!! To me it's a little known jewel in the wicklow crown. Well done to the OPW staff there for their hard work!

Great spot for a quiet break. Free wifi. Good value. Beautiful setting. Staff are really friendly too - in particular, Kayleigh always has a smile and goes above and beyond for customers. Will.be back.

We went to the national botanic gardens in kilmacurragh today for our school tour with 50 pupils. We were met on arrival by the manager and a staff member of brambles cafe who had very kindly made up lunch bags for all the pupils.I have to say the service from the staff at the cafe was second to none they even carried out the crates of food to us out on the green and chatted to the pupils, (very welcoming feature) came back on numerous occasions to check everything was OK. The tour guides were fantastic and the pupils wanted to stay longer than our time allowed. We will be back again next week with 53 pupils who can't wait for their special lunch bag treats.
