J. M.Wouldn’t recommend coming here during hot weather as the windows only open a crack in the rooms and the air conditioning doesn’t work. Was given a small desk fan on the second night but it was still too warm. Would have loved to have been able to open the window fully.
The moijtos in the bar were horrible as they tasted like minty carbonated water.
Rooms are a bit old fashioned.
Dinner was okay in the restaurant but service a small bit lacking.
Breakfast is nice quality, looked forward to it each morning!
The area and setting of the hotel is unreal. 5 - 10 min drive from the town.
Staff were really nice and friendly.
Lovely views from room would recommend a sea view room.
Lovely comfortable seating areas outside the lobby which I really enjoyed to get some air.
Good few sanitation stations placed around the lobby which was nice. Was very clean!
A. S.This hotel is a hidden Gem in Kinsale. I was there for a family wedding. Food awesome. Bedrooms awesome and hotel awesome. They have a spa, swimming pool and gym. It is a perfect weekend break and you have everything on your finger tips from breakfast right through to dinner. Menus for vegitarians and vegans. The garends and scenery are amazing. They really take great care in keeping the place very clean and presentable. This hotel is ideal for tourists locals and anyone wanting either a break, business or even have your wedding. They provide a fantastic wedding venue. I absolutely and honestly have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Travelling by car is the best however you can get a bus and then a short taxi ride to hotel grounds. It is not situated within walking distance of a shop especially in bad weather so go prepared if you want those sneaky snacks while on the bed watching TV

We enjoyed every minute of it. Oisin was a great kid our dishes were taken away as soon as we were finished our meals.

N.My husband and I had planned to have a big celebration for our wedding day in Nov 2020 but covid had other plans..! During level 5 lockdown, we had a small wedding ceremony at the hotel with just our parents and our 2 kids, and amazingly, we had the most special, intimate ceremony which exceeded our expectations ❤ This year, we celebrated our wedding anniversary with family and friends and the day was perfect - the tables and function room were set up beautifully, everything ran smoothly, staff were friendly as always, and the food was amazing 💕
For several years now, Alison has helped us navigate through the restrictions, changing dates (3 times), providing tips, responded quickly to every email, and was always avaliable for a chat which helped so much.. I couldn't recommend Kinsale Hotel and Spa enough, we have wonderful memories that will last a life time - thanks so much again 💕

M. K.Great hotel overall. Very tidy and well maintained grounds with lots of green open space, access to a private beach (when there is a low tide), a spa and a nice waterfall feature.
Covid controls and measures in the hotel were a slight letdown with restaurant staff members wearing masks partially (not covering their nose, only their mouths). The same was true for room cleaners. This was a shame as otherwise throughout the hotel, sanitisation and mask wearing is emphasised heavily for guests. Temperature checks are also there at the main entrance.
Restaurant has great food, with decent options for vegetarians too (including a separate pizza menu!). Breakfast options were well worth the price, with a selection of warm buffet options, yogurts, fresh fruit juices and pastries.

Such a beautiful hotel in the most gorgeous setting of woodland and the view of oysterhaven the bay and headlands from there would make you feel that you would not need to drive anywhere else. The walks around the hotel are also beautiful Location is great with a short drive to kinsale and all the other lovely places.
All staff were professional and courteous and very helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable and one to remember.
The food was beautiful .Breakfast perfect and dinner was beautiful.
We had a wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor .We had a profile bed delivered to our room and recliner chair .There was nothing to hard for the staff they accomadated us in every way that they could.
The manager is a kind caring caring and courteous man .I must add in here that he gave us a complimentary night also onto our stay.!
One night we came back from our day out. We were very late for dinner , he kindly arranged a huge plateful of the most delicious sandwiches for us free of charge.
It is indeed a beautiful hotel relaxed and we will be returning.

V.Lovely hotel, stunning views from our room, amazing reception staff but I feel the waiting staff let our experience at the hotel down .We allowed for all factors incl. young/new staff, lockdown, training Etc but some areas were not excusable. It won't put us off staying again but I hope this will have improved/change.
r. w.Stayed for three nights at the end of June. The staff were helpful and laid back. The lodge was spacious and clean. Breakfast was enjoyable and the range of food was excellent. The breakfast staff were friendly and efficient. Overall an enjoyable and pleasant experience.

H. O.My family and I stayed here for a night. The hotel had some good aspects which I will cover first.
Good:
The rooms were clean and they had good measurements in place regarding covid. The staff were friendly enough, the dinner was fairly ok and the grounds were absolutely beautiful.
Bad:
The staff in the restaurant were quite frankly clueless as they kept bringing wrong orders to wrong tables and kept forgetting about things we had asked for. The staff were also fairly clueless about the river that is actually very near to the hotel. When asked about it, they gave a guess as to where it was.
Some of the surfaces in the hotel weren’t very clean, for example some of the tables in the restaurant clearly hadn’t been cleaned.
The room was clean but extremely basic and this characteristic carried on throughout the hotel. It had no character and was quite dated. It was clear to see that there was no attention to detail given to the decoration of the hotel. All they did in the lobby was throw up a few lights and called it a day.
In conclusion this hotel has so much potential especially with the decor of the rooms and lobby.
They could also make the path to the river more interesting for example some potted plants or wooden chairs along the way.
In my eyes this hotel has a bit more to do to earn its fourth star.
J. R.Lovely hotel but needs a bit of work, the decking outside the restaurant is rotten in places cigarette buts not cleaned up.
The window in my room when opened was full of leaves. Most of the staff were very warm and friendly except for the girl at reception with the English accent who could not wait to get rid of you, there is a lovely walk down to the shoreline which I found out about while waiting to order a taxi when I over heard another receptionist checking in a guest.
F. H.I don't want to be too hard on this spot, because it wasn't a bad experience staying there. It just didn't quite hit the mark. Some food was good while more was lacked seasoning and was bland as a result. The staff, although very friendly had to be coaxed into providing a satisfactory service.
The room was spotless and comfortable with a lovely view of the car park and the door did close/lock properly.
If could give a 3.5 star rating I would.

Gorgeous views from our room over the grounds and a pretty little walk can be taken down to a small beach. Food was great and evening drinks taken out on a balcony with such gorgeous views was very much enjoyed! Would definitely recommend! Only a short drive from Kinsale.
S. C.For a 4 star hotel the bedrooms are a letdown. The staff were very helpful when we raised concerns about the cleanliness of our room however, especially at the moment, cleanliness should not need to be raised. While second room was cleaner and with a better view it was still worn, (peeling wallpaper, old fashioned furniture and a shower door that didn’t close properly).
There were a number of signs noting that wearing a mask was mandatory indoors unless seated, however a significant number of guests seemed to ignore this directive in various locations.
The staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and helpful and the food was good, if not a little limited ( understandable due to Covid restrictions).
The pool area was clean and well organised and we had no issues booking a time slot in the morning. Also the grounds are well maintained and pleasant to look at.
While the trip was broadly pleasant, a three star experience was disappointing for the price.

after just having had our wedding this Saturday at the kinsale hotel and spa I can not write about this hotel and its staff highly enough. From start to finish Alison the wedding Co ordinator, Rónán the manager and every member of the team did everything to accommodate us, while working fully within current safety guidelines. From uploading videos, Co ordinating time and even making late night ham sandwiches😊 😊. The best experience my husband and myself could have ever had. So thank you again kinsale and spa, Alison, Rónán and all the staff there for making our wedding weekend so extra special, we know where we will be spending our anniversaries. 😊👌💕
A. S.Staff very friendly and welcoming. Management were so accommodating put extra cot bed in room and gave us adjoining rooms. Breakfast and dinner was lovely. Very relaxing break. Lovely swimming pool will definitely go back. Have a free shuttle bus to go into town.

Nice, quiet location, beautiful view, big family room, swimming pool with pool toys for children.
What we didn't like:
Late check in at four, dirty room with lots of garbage from other guests (We had to ask for someone to clean it), breakfast with food gone bad(colour and smell, had to bring it back), room service (we ordered something to eat and got a different dish. We ate it anyway because it was late and we had a child to bring to bed).
W. K.I stayed here with my extended family for a get together in early January 2020. A mixed bag!
Good:
- The room (top floor double on the bay) was lovely, large, and had a spectacular view. This made up for a lot of the other issues. I couldn't fault it.
- The hotel was clean.
- Smashing location with great landscape.
Bad:
- The restaurant space was oppressively hot. I felt so ill and lost all appetite. Seriously, how do the staff make it through a whole shift in there wearing suits? I don't know if the heating was on too high or it's just a natural greenhouse but it ruined both evenings for me.
- The food was ok but kind of forgettable and uninspired. The pasta was awful, the steak overcooked, the chips not at all crispy; decent burger though.
- The staff were lovely but a bit clueless (hint: when a customer asks for some water with their whiskey they do not want you to fill the glass to the top... very slow / amateur in general)
- The pool looked a bit worse for wear and was full of screaming kids. Fair play, it seems to be a popular pool for the local community. But it would be nice to have more than just an hour of adults-only time. And I know this is common in Ireland but there's really no need to mandate swimming caps.
- This is a bit more personal but it just felt very tired, soulless and 2000s. I suspect it hasn't been refurbished since it was built - time to get the interior decorators in to give it a revamp I reckon. It could be really nice.
M. V.I organised a hen party for my sister at this hotel (They offer a great hen package) and the whole experience from start to end was phenomenal!
The hotel is located outside of Kinsale itself but the taxi was only about €2-€3 each to get in and out of town and the views in the hotel are so beautiful ....really seems like the ideal spot for a wedding!
The meal was excellent and really big portions (chips were great) and the staff were always ensuring that we had everything we needed.
The management (Philip and Charlotte) really did all they could to help us and it was so greatly appreciated, couldn’t have asked for more attentive or welcoming staff!
We stayed in the lodges which are ideal for larger groups or families. Bedrooms are huge and place was immaculate.
As part of our package we got a 30 minute beauty treatment and every single one of us raved about it. We had 2 girls looking after us and they were excellent. We never felt rushed and they were so friendly, after the treatment we got to stay in the relaxation room which was fabulous. I don’t think a single person had anything negative to say about the whole thing.

Reception, views, pool and cleanliness were fantastic.
What wasn't so great: front ground floor room has no 1 sided glass so you pretty much need to close the window curtains to change clothes or anything without being seen from outside. Tied in with this, the only lights in the room are the bedside lamps which aren't really suitable for day use.
Food service was a tad bit slow for a very quiet day. I hope it's not any slower on a busy night. That said, the food was delicious and no complaints there.
Breakfast was a basic standard Irish fry with all the usuals and some cereals. Think it takes away a bit from how high class the rest of the hotel feels.
This is just me picking at small things but overall the experience was quiet good and would return again if I needed to be in the area

C. F.We stayed here on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis last Thursday night. The hotel itself is very stylish and the setting is really beautiful. The gardens are beautiful. My partner is gluten and dairy free, and I mentioned this when I confirmed the booking 24 hours in advance of our arrival. I also mentioned it when we checked in around 5.30pm for dinner at 7.30pm. Despite all the advance notice both the starter and main course had to be returned leaving us very annoyed and frustrated. Paul, the Bar/Duty Manager was very apologetic and brought us a complimentary bottle of wine which was much appreciated, however, other, busier hotels on our trip were able to step up to the mark with far less notice.
M. H.Stayed with a group in Lodges recently, lovely location, very clean, with towels etc. Heating could be regulated in each room, very cosy. One very negative thing is the cooking/catering facilities in lodge.Consists of fridge, microwave,kettle, toaster. No means of "cooking" anything, even though it is self-catering.We had lovely dinner in the hotel, but would like to have better facilities to cook breakfast(we had brought breakfast food with us)Leisure facilities excellent. Hotel staff very helpful and efficient.

Upholstery in bar needs serious cleaning. A little under staffed. These things can be easily be rectified. Would I return to this hotel. Yes I would.

S.I found the location beautiful the rooms and staff lovely,but the dining experience was horrible as the dining area is not big enough to accommodate a full service and if you have booked a room and dinner package you will find you are lower class of customer, there will be no meat on your menu and even dishes from the main menu with meat taken out. Then there is breakfast the cheapest meat deep fried and the size of the dining area again added to a cramped fractious experience.
D. S.Thee nicest place we have ever stayed. We were upgraded upon arrival to the adult only section of the hotel to one of the suites. The view was incredibly, bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was big enough to play rugby....not that we did. The staff were woundful and was nice to see a dedicated lifeguard on the pool at all times. Plenty of parking and a beautiful place.

I. K.I have been getting some spa treatments in January as a 'treat' over the years, to help get over the stress and strains of the Christmas holiday period, and the therapists are always wonderful. They really are so helpful every time I go there. The Elemis products they use are superb for my skin and I would very highly recommend this Spa. It is also so very convenient, as it is just outside of Kinsale, and I don't have to travel to the city. Parking right outside the door. Fantastic.
H. W.I used be a member of the gym and spa here and really missed it during Covid lockdown. Went back today and was really impressed by the covid measures they have in place to protect everyone.
I used to love the place on winter nights but now on summer evenings with the doors open, sun shining in & gorgeous views to look at while swimming, it’s pretty special too. Olivia & Gavin were on the desk at the leisure centre and they couldn’t have been lovelier.
B. S.Great place with wonderful views. Had good time in spa, stuff very professional (highly recommended). Restaurant does not exist, we were very disappointed with kitchen. Our meals had no taste, kid's menu was too spicy on the other hand. On next day my daughter were given toast with mold on bread! Actually food was awful and menu from website is a one big lie and definitely it didn't deserve for four stars.

R. O.Stayed in the lodge, they were lovely but all the beds were doubles, so kids weren't happy. When booking i asked for breakfast to be included for the 5 of us when i arrived at the hotel i was told the price did not include breakfast i said i was given the price for B&B after rechecking i was told it did include breakfast and i paid there and then on the first morning after confirming my room number and helping myself to the selfservice breakfast a staff member came up to me and said my breakfast wasn't included i again told her i had paid for it when checking in, she said she would check with reception,(i think she should have checked first or the list of rooms for breakfast) when checking out they were going to charge us €135 for breakfast and drinks, we again had to tell them we paid for the breakfast when we checked in and never ordered drinks, this again involved more checking, i dont understand how they kept making the mistake they should know how much the lodge was per night. For breakfast there were no tables set up for any more than 4 people although there were parties of more than 4, tables were all dirty and staff very slow to clean them and reset. We had to set our table and i saw other people having to set their tables, the bar is really just a little area in the restaurant not a real bar tables were all set for dinner so you couldn't sit down for a drink, no music or entertainment, lacking atmosphere, beautiful views from hotel, nice swimming pool. Hotel is a little outside Kinsale so you have to drive to get around
M. C.Lovely hotel. Very roomy, lovely staff, and good food. Found the rooms very warm and had no problem being supplied with two sheets instead. Drink and food very reasonable also. Would highly recommend a visit there.
S. M.Overall we really enjoyed our stay here, the grounds are beautiful and it is a lovely hotel within a short drive from the town. Unfortunately i had a very poor nights sleep due to the noisy water tank above our room.
D. G.We were put in a Lodge 3 bedroom unit under renovation. Our paperwork showed us in a hotel room. Front desk promptly responded and moved us. Our hotel room was quite comfortable, clean and pretty. Restaurant good but service can take a bit. Staff very nice and go out of their way to please especially front desk. Manager Ronan is hands on checking on his visitors. Enjoyed our stay.

J. C.This hotel is definitely worth the price. We stayed here after spending two nights in Dublin and we paid roughly the same amount for this hotel as the one in Dublin and this was MUCH nicer. The view from our hotel room was incredible and the room itself was very comfortable. I usually shy away from resorts because you end up paying for all the extra services that I don't use but this one was a little bit of paradise. I especially enjoyed the nature trail that runs from the back of the hotel to the waterfront but be careful. Even though it's not a strenuous hike there is some elevation change. There's even the ruins of an old cottage along the trail. I definitely recommend this place as a launching point to explore Kinsale and County Cork.
P.Lovely hotel and the staff were very friendly and acomodating. The only downside for me was the food. The breakfast grill was undercooked on both mornings I was there and the evening meal I had was not great. You will need a car to visit kinsale as it's not in walking distance but the hotel do provide a limited taxi service

Thread bear carpet in places, locks missing from mens changing rooms, car park is a bit of mess with temporary barriers up... etc could be great with some attention to detail.

The hotel offers a spectacular view of the lake and a gravel walking trail. It does have a bar and restaurant with two different menus. Service was slow and the food and drinks were pricey. The food itself was not too our liking and if we did it again we would eat elsewhere.

a lovely hotel and very friendly and pleasant staff.The pool was excellent evening meals were fab well presented and excellent meals.However the whole thing was a big let down at breakfast,again the staff were second to none but the breakfast food was of very poor quality and tinned mushrooms and poorly cooked,we had full Irish the first morning which was very disappointing so had an omelette the second morning which wasn't much better.In my opinion for the price of a stay here the breakfast needs to come way up,other than that everything else was great.

Bed was comfortable, bathroom huge and plenty of plug sockets in the room (something that is often overlooked - cameras, Go-Pro's, laptops, phones, tablets etc have to charge somehow and you don't want to be carrying multi-blocks)! WiFi 10/10 (contrary to other reviews we had no problems and we are heavy users. We used a combo of the general free WiFi service and the room specific WiFi), food marvellous and staff were a pleasure - friendly and helpful and chatty. Excellent fitness facilities - sauna top class. Value for money and a great base for local outings and even for farther afield to West Cork and Kerry. Ample free parking. Highly recommended.

I asked the manger to change us, and they put us in the new building. Also, breakfast is not with the rate, which is rare for Ireland. The new building is good, and staff is pleasant. Gotta check out the sunset on the fields, what colors!!!
E. M.Beautiful hotel in an idyllic location near Kinsale. The food in the restaurant was very nice, but the menu was a little limited. The bar is too open and doesn't have a very welcoming layout. They offer a fantastically convenient bus service to/from Kinsale town centre at night (small charge for this).
d. f.Stayed here for a wedding function. Reception staff very good and courteous even though a large crowd arrived together. Checkin/checkout s breeze. Bar staff and serving staff really friendly and helpful and could not do enough for us. Rooms are large but rooms to the front of the hotel just look onto the car park. Rear rooms have a great view of Oysterhaven bay. Rooms are clean but are beginning to show the signs of wear and tear. Spa onsite but did not visit and prices were reasonable for the Kinsale region. Note hotel is a good bit outside Kinsale town.

We went to the new opened Rock bar. Great to see so much light incoming to main bar. Fully opened up. Airy. Colour a bit mute. Good be more uplifting.
Again Vista's superb.
Opted to dine in bar. Casual affair. To say food was superb. Presentation, taste, colour. Empty plates said it all. Compliments to the chefs.
New Manager for bar and food on board since Monday 12th March. Very attentive. Great with the very young team in the bar and floor. Approach to teaching wonderful. Extremely friendly. Clear to see liked by customers.
Busy spot. Returning customers. New customers from Europe and States.
If you need to visit Kinsale you can opt for taxi. It will cost 12 Euro in and likewise back.
May seem costly.
But worth it. As once you hit beautiful Kinsale there is so much to see and do.
Kinsale Hotel & Spa stands on 90 acres. Great grounds. Walk down to the water. Trees on entrance could do with been taken away as have fallen. Maybe little tidy up. Present appearance room for improvement.
Staff seem to be over worked. Doing many jobs.
We on Sunday went to our new room.as we had to make 2 seperate bookings due to busy hotel. Not their fault. Glad to get it. Busy Friday 300 guests for confirmation.
Bar full friday and Saturday a very good sign for the great food. Fresh fare of produce. Lots of tasty fish, from fish cakes, to Hake. Wings a clear favourite with folks. Mild, hot or wild. Fish and chips good old mushy peas a true Cork thing delicious. Fresh. Well done.again chefs.
One person that truly stood out was a gentleman named Cahill. A trooper . Hands to everything. Reception
Bar. Restaurant. All rounder. Composed at all times. Extremely polite. A great Asset to this hotel. Customers even spoke well of him.
It was lovely to bid goodbye. See you again from him.
Our second room 325 was Fabalous. For our St. Patrick's night. Full big window and yet again the Vista's. Tea coffee, River Rock water. Lovely Elemis at home toiletries.
To sum it up fantastic.
Great value for money too.
Just one little thing. The lovely friendly very young team need to be seriously and properly trained. They are holding the fort, running the show.
Look forward to returning again.

A. B.We arrived after 12 days camping on the Wild Atlantic Way, so you may want to take it with a grain of salt when I say this is the schmanciest hotel in Ireland. The location is beautiful and there are scenic routes around the area for walking.
Our room was immaculate and our en-suite was the nicest we've ever been in. Each room has its own Wi-Fi so the signal is good (so long as you're in your room). It's a wonderful spot to stay - no regrets.

p. o.Stayed St patricks week end. lovely warm hotel but reasturant closed on sunday even due to some rugby event, so we ate down town, when we came back to hotel no parking left so i just doubled parked at side of kerb, was not impressed. Inter to hotel lobby was packed with the event that was on so no place to sit, had to go to bed room. They should have had that in conference room. Second morn at breakfast we asked for a pot of tea & coffee was told self service, now up & down with a cup for tea was not on but we got it after giving out. Room was lovely with a view & comfortable bed, but for the price i was not impressed. The pool was lovely but the sauna was not working. I def dont think its at 4.5star,

S. C.Went for pizza Thursday night with my boyfriend and son It was so nice and fresh, I have to comment on the young man that looked after us He was so polite professional and friendly.
S. P. s.It's been 5 years since I last visited. Despite the low vegan food choices there was still some nice stuff(if you can tolerate pescetarian) to choose from. Service was excellent. The 2 waiters one serving dinner on the 5th (blonde tall a bit shaggy) I am sorry can't remember names)and in the morning (tall dark hair glasses) deserve 5 stars. Served once checked twice. Knew the menus. Remembered preferences (no onions!) Customer oriented. Offered alternatives.(Falafels). For sure I'll come back.

Gutes Hotel. Kühlschrank im Zimmer wäre wünschenswert. Kein tägliches Mineralwasser, sondern nur bei Anreise. Wir haben ohne Zusatzkosten ein extra großes Zimmer mit großem Balkon bekommen, daher 5 Sterne. SPA haben wir nicht getestet. Essen war ok, etwas teuer.
M.(Translated) Beautiful place, attentive and helpful staff. I missed a few items in the pantry: a grill and a toaster would help a lot. The showers in the upper floors of the houses have little hot water, but the SPA is very good, so it was very worth the heated pool and bath there in the SPA.

Only downside: the breakfast where there are many people, servers overwhelmed and products lack quality (too fat bacon, eggs and pudding too cooked, ..).

Très bel hôtel près de Kinsale, un joli village de pêcheurs avec de très bons restaurants. La piscine est très belle (pensez à emmener un bonnet de bain ou il vous en coutera 2€ par bonnet sur place) et dotée d'un hammam et spa.
Seul petit bémol : le petit déjeuner où il y a beaucoup de monde, des serveurs débordés et les produits manquent de qualité (bacon trop gras, œufs et boudin trop cuit,..).
