A. P.It’s not often that you can visit a capital city and decide on a whim to watch Madame Butterfly, Rigoletto or Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet.
But that’s exactly what you can do at the National Opera House, and compared to the rest of Europe tickets cost next to nothing.
A seat in the stalls will cost around 500 Hryvnia, €18, and it’s even less in the balcony.
The building is magnificent as well, built in the Academic style over the turn of the 20th century after its predecessor burnt down.
If you’re staying at a hotel you can ask your concierge to book tickets if there’s more than a day’s notice, or you can go to the box office on the day.
V. K.Wexford opera house, Wexford is a beautiful town in its own right, if you go to the opera try and visit the town as well, raise a rebellious hand for the Pike Men of Wexford. The National Opera house is a little difficult to find, lots of one way streets and it can be confusing, once your there, it’s not huge but inside it’s beautiful, stage design is first rate and acoustics are sublime, I went to see Don Quichotte and it was excellent, please don’t take pictures during the performance, several people were warned and it’s not right. It’s a fantastic venue, a beautiful town, excellent sound, what’s not to like?

The opera house itself is a wonderful venue. So unassuming for the outside but when you go through the doors it opens up to a modern tasteful space that gives you the feeling you are somewhere special!
An absolute gem and a credit to the people that run and keep it.

S.I went to see Ben Portsmouth, the Elvis impersonator and I was seated on the balcony, so I got a brilliant view of the show and all the safety precautions the staff took for people going to and from their seats. The staff I encountered were lovely and very helpful. The bathrooms were also extremely clean and tidy. You could hear everything said on stage and sang, which for someone who is hard of hearing, I found this to be really great. I would definitely return to the National Opera House again and I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to have a great time and enjoy every part of a show.
L. K.Lovely venue with great acoustics, ushers and staff are friendly. Only issue I have had the past 3 times I've been there is that one of the ushers is a bit of a tyrant, and he gets so wrapped up in people taking photos from their phones that he distracts the whole audience with his flash light antics trying to alert other employees to the crime and then zoning in the other ushers to the offender. It ends up like a disco of flashing lights distracting the audience from the performance on the stage. I understand there are rules about taking photos and videos, but most of the other ushers are able to endorse the rules without ruining the whole thing for the surrounding people.
It won't stop me going though, venue is 2nd to none in this country 👌
J. T.Great venue. Sound and lighting are fantastic. Not a bad seat in the house and they're all comfy with plenty of leg room. Great if you're 6'. Staff helpful and know their stuff. Parking close by.

There is also a coffee shop and selection of savoury things to eat. Lovely views across the bay and outside patio area.

For lovers of opera this building is the perfect venue. Beautifully designed, it is equipped with state of the art sound acoustics and supported with friendly and helpful staff. Worth a visit just to see the architectural beauty of the inside and the conservation value of the outside - harmonising with the adjacent period buildings.

W.The Venue itself is fabulous, but the only thing I'd advise anyone "not to do" is order interval drinks before the show, as they are left on a shelf for you to collect at the interval and mine was taken by someone else before I got there. Other than that, the venue and entertainment was spot on!

D. S.If you've never visited the Wexford Opera House, you're in for a surprise. Almost invisible from the outside in a street of terraced houses, the interior is a beautiful and very classy space lined with rich dark wood. The seating is comfortable and almost every seat has a clear view of the stage. Probably the best spot to go for is somewhere central in the Founders Gallery. The accoustics are great and the shows range from pure opera to rock. Highly recommended.

We were lucky enough to wander in on a day when a lovely gent was working. He gave us an informal tour and showed me and my partner into the main theatre.
It's an beautifully made building that is perfectly settled into the town, the interior is gorgeous with walnut wood used throughout.

R.It's a great place to see a show or concert, wether you're sitting in the stands or the lower balconies you have a realy good view of the stage, they have a great line up over the comming months, ive already booked to see an act in May 19, looking forward to it. Definetly recomend to anyone who likes to see a live preformance music or other type of act be it comedy, play or music visit the National Opera House in Wexford, trust me it's worth it.
G. F.A fantastic amenity in the heart of Wexford town. Definitely worth catching a show here or experiencing the world renowned Opera Festival in October. There's also a coffee shop open daily on the top floor, with stunning views of Wexford Harbour.

T.This building is so understated from the outside, you wouldn't even know it was there! The theatre is lined with wood for the sound but it also gives it a wonderful look, we were all amazed by this structure!
L. B.The architecture is an impressive, modern take on a classic homage to the arts. I adored every evening I spent there and each has gone down vividly in memory as a magical time. I hope to spend a lot of time there when I come back to live in Wexford. A valuable locus for culture in Wexford and Ireland.

G.The National Opera House is a Fantastic conversion of an old building into a modern opera house with excellent facilities including stage lifts and a separate small theatre for plays, the tour guides are all volunteers ours were a lady lawyer and a retired medical doctor with a great knowledge of the opera house and its long history, the annual Wexford opera festival is world famous and bring visitors from all over the world each September.
It is the pride of the people of this lovely old picturesque sea side town.

A. v. B.I travelled five hours drom Belfast to Wexford to attend two performances at the National Opera House. What a pleasure! Walking down the road you'd never think there was an opera house there. It's just another narrow street in this little town. But step inside and wow! There is a huge opera hall with four floors of seating and another theatre in the basement. Everything is gorgeous. Lots and lots of wood from Canada and blue leather upholstery makes for great acoustics. Can't wait to go back

F.As always had a lovely experience in the national opera house in wexford lovely staff telling you where to go so no chance of getting lost or anything the only downside that day was it was raining really bad and there was a bit of trouble out the front with people trying to get their lifts the front is not big enough for all those trying to not get wet but that's not the fault of the opera house if the weather had been good this wouldn't have happened other than that a wonderful experience
K.The coffee shop is EXTREMLEY badly signposted. The staff don't seem to be coordinated in who is doing what, with the result I was asked (very nicely), was I being looked after! I think son re organising is called for because nobody seems to know who is doing what?
