Reviews of Deer Park Golf
Spent a lovely day on foot for a change and was able to explore more of this great destination. The Castle is amazing , would love to see more of it. The Rhododendron gardens are a must with the megalithic tomb and super views of Dublin from the top.
Loved visiting here! No charge for visiting although I suppose the facilities for golfing and entering the castle cost something. This time we came here for a nature walk just as the flowering trees were starting to shed their blossoms and it was amazing! Would recommend visiting in May especially, as the whole hill area is covered in flowering trees. Good two hour slow walk and hike.
Well it used to be amazeballs but it's gone now. The pitch and putt course was brilliant - possibly the best in the world.
Nice pint in the bar too with fabulous views over the city. It was great on a sunny afternoon.
But it's gone now.
Lovely course good value 18th hole is a killer uphill, hire a buggy if your not very fit
Great views, well kept golf course. Par 3 is a enjoyable course for average player. Some really nice walks around the grounds with fantastic views.
Didn't play golf but walked along many pleasant wooded paths often opening up to glorious sea or hillside views. Watch out for the flying golf balls on the Howth golf club - one golfer told me that they weren't very good and many are wayward. Still worth the walk despite any risk.
We had our last few family events up in deerpark. We had the rhododendron room yesterday. It was perfect.
The catering company is fantastic..
Very helpful and friendly 💫💫💫 TheRightcatering#
Lovely place for a walk or game of golf. Cafe is open too. Beautiful views of Howth!
Lovely, scenic course for a nice round, €25 euro Sunday evening green fee is a fair reflection 👍🏼
Great day out to play golf. Great views.
The forest is very dense making it feel as if you're in an unexplored part of the land.
Amazing views from the very top.
Nice for a cup of coffee with nice views, other than golf there's not much else going on as the hotel itself is closed which is a shame
Nice place for a walk around or just to spend some time to watching the beautiful view off the see
Amazing! Very uncomplicated for visitors.
Very nice place for a walk with beautiful views.
Thats a nice place for a walk. Winter trail run starts from there.
Great to kill a few hours, great with family & friends, went playing with my 7 year old son an he loved it, also some lovely views over Dublin both sides.
Fantastic place for a game of golf, pitch and putt or even footgolf. They have a lovely place for food and a few drinks afterwards, with an amazing view over Dublin you can see fair and wide for miles.
Great public course with some unbelievable views, especially on the 18th.
Much improved reception and shop facilities. Sat Nav on buggies. Course in great condition!
Not the golf course but Howth Castle. Not fully opened (due to Covid restrictions) but worth a visit and the Irish National Transport museum is situated there as well.
The walk to the summit is peaceful.
The walk back down night is good and creepy 👻😱
Fantastic location and an amazing view over Dublin at the walk way behind the deer park hotel well work a walk up to the top .
Nice views over dublin
Beautiful landscape and quiet forests.
Found this little pond on the grounds hope there's fish in it lovely place with its castle.
MAGICAL...LOVELY CLIFF WALKS...GREAT SCENERY AND COOL RESTAURANTS ❤
Good golf great views but not all open
Great place to place some golf.
Affordable entry, 14 Euro for 9 holes In a beautiful scenery overseeing the coast and Dublin
Best place to visit in howth. Lovely views
Very nice golf club overlooking Dublin Bay
Dear Park is a great estate for walking with many trails and historical features.
Fontan's 9 holes is my favourite but if you desire 18 it's a challenging course. The prices are reasonable and the views priceless. Enjoy your day and have good walk in the park.
An excellent way to spend a couple of hours.
A round of Pitch and Putt on their 18 hole course. A good laugh, nothing too serious.
Would advise to book in advance. Youcan rent clubs for euro 5. A round is euro 10 per person. Not overly difficult, but a good laugh.
Lovely coarse staff very helpful.in gr8 condition esp the greens like glass credit to green keeping staff.tks.
That's Howth castle on the way
This place was amazing. We were told it was the oldest public course in Ireland. The course is in great shape, hard tee boxes soft greens. The course layout is great. The views are beautiful. Rental clubs were old and brand new sets arrived when we were finished. The course staff was helpful and nice. The bar and cafe were closed for repairs so no way to rate that. I would recommend this place highly.
This use to be a great place now there is a pro in the shop and the prices have gone through the roof.
I played there on a regular basis meet up with a friend on Saturday/ Sunday when we were off , a round of 18 holes was between €20 &€24 at most.
9 holes on the Grace O'Malley or St .Clinton was €12 after the 9 on the left was turned in to golf football. Pandemic hit now
9 St.Fintons is €25/€30
18 is € 30/€45 throughout the day on the site you mite get 18 hole for €25 for about 4 tee times. And now they have a right to ring you and tell you they are putting you out with people you don't even know ( and this was in the middle of the pandemic) when the government said not to be mixing with other house hold , people out side your bubble.
1. They will lose a lot of people because of the price of a round.
2. They will lose people because the pro is tell you to play with people you don't know.
3. Other courses for 18 holes.
Balcarrick was €20 now €25 weekend €30.
Corballis €30.( also put you out with other people)
Beaverstown €30/40.
Swords open is €30.
And there is a chance you can get these cheaper on a site call teetimes.ie.
If you promote and let a site promote your course( you do not have the right to ring the person who has booked a two ball and tell them they are playing with some other people.).
Prices can kill a business. You mite have business ( but it's like you are weeding out people you don't like in society. ) Going above your station.
When we are allowed out again
I give it another go and tell everyone. So places may not let non members play. Comfort is everything.
Beautiful sorroundings and nice and quiet. Golf coarse well maintained
Great location for golf.
Lovely course! Well maintained and good balance of difficulty
Lovely golf course and views to die for! Catering in bar area is first class 🎖
Its ok if you want a cheap game of golf, you pay for what you get.
There is a wonderful rhododendron forest behind the hotel. It may once have been manicured, but now looks quite natural. Beautiful trees with spectacular rhododendrons in May and June. There are many paths meandering through. It's worth the trip to Howth and the 25 or so minute walk from the Dart station.
A relatively easy course no real difficulty. The panoramic view from the 18th green is worth it.
Great views of the coast from the clubhouse..lovely spot to unwind and relax away from the daily grind..
The castle is worth viewing from the outside only as its private. They are redeveloping the golf course and hotel. So not brilliant now but it will be. Great for walking
The views up here are breathtaking on a sunny day. Also the Guinness tastes amazing after a long round of golf/footgolf. Unfortunately, the facilities are a old and a little worn-out. If they were decent I'd give it a 5*
Love a game of golf in deer park it's not the most demanding course but when your handicap isn't worth mentioning it's the perfect round of golf, views are amazing and at 35 euros for a round it's great value for money
I really like this course. It offers Par 3 golf. A 9 hole course and a full 18 hole course depending on what you want that day. The course itself is lovely and offers some fantastic views of the sea and how th castle. It has some tricky holes and also long straight ones for those who like to blast the drives off the tee box.
Great place on a sunny clear day the views unbelievable nice walk around it lovely place
Great course. Stunning views. In great condition
Great golf course with excellent views, many good memories playing a few rounds on this course.
Great course wonderful views
I don't play golf so won't comment on the courses. The hotel is very comfortable and has stunning views toward Irelands Eye and Dublin Bay. Food in the restaurant was very good and the buffet breakfast was enough to keep us going all day. Enjoyed our stay and will (indeed already have) return.
A great location to walk, good hiking boots a must. And with days so short finish early.
Beautiful view over the entirety of Howth Bay with amazing views of Howth Castle. At 2mins distance from the town-centre of Howth, it's perfect to go for a morning golf and lunch after. The footgolf, 9hole and 18hole golf courses are very reasonably priced and well balanced between challenging and easy holes.
Deer park has always been a favorite retreat of mine, whether it's a game of golf on the challenging 18 hole course a quick game of par3 golf or pitch and putt, the real reward is when you finish you can relax with some pub style food and a cool beverage and enjoy the panoramic views of the whole of Dublin. On a sunny day it's breath taking!!!!
We had a party for 14 boys at Deerpark Footgolf. Everything was really well run, food was great, the boys thoroughly enjoyed it. The cake was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend this venue.
Don't like golf, love the castle and transport museum, and the land, enjoy it while you can it's going to get developed, there is a megalithic site there
One of my favourite and default go to courses in Dublin thats very well maintained and easy to get to.
On average you will walk at least 10k on this course, so it's also a great little workout aswell.
Brilliant course for beginners or those who aren't used to playing a full course as its wide, open, long, very forgiving and challenging but so much that it would put you off going back.
My favourite hole is the 1st and 17th because you can't resist the temptation to blast the ball from the tee down the hill.
An added bonus is the fantastic views of Dublin as you walk around.
First rhododendron of the new year..
Went there with my daughter and grandchildren today had a great time staff were really good and excellent service I'd recommend it as a great place to visit lovely scenery well done to all concerned
The views from this golf course are breathtaking. The course is in great condition, however the greens may be a little slower than average. Well worth a visit
If price is of utmost importance, then the Deer Park Golf club in Howth is a great place to play a golf game. Enjoy the great views over Dublin and Ireland's Eye. Can be a bit crowded in summertime though. Especially the PAR 3 12 holes course is great. Don't expect the course to be maintained perfectly at any time, as it is an open golf club. Very slow greens. The 18 holes is great, but don't expect any beautiful views over Dublin there.
Beautiful views and a fantastic Rhododendron garden. The Transport museum and Cookery school are also worth visiting. Weekends only off-season.
enjoy the view of sublin city and golfing
Their is a lot more to Deer park than just a golf course situated in Howth it also house's the transport museum which covers public transport in Dublin from the early days of horse and tram's too the more modern public transport well worth a visit, also on the grounds is Howth castle, which is definitely overlooked and well worth a visit also Howth village is only a 5 minute walk away with it's great restaurant's bars and coffee shop's
Lovely place. Pity they have sold it
Very forgiving beginners course, fabulous view of North Dublin coast line from the first tee.
Brilliant place to spend with kids and family shame it's closing down today 😞
Go for a par 3 there, beautiful and completely affordable. It is very close to Howth, so you can always end up having a nice seafood lunch there after the game (walking distance) or go and have fun feeding the seals ;-)
I love the tranquility of this park, if you want some peace and quite then come here for a few hours to unwind.
Well kept course with fantastic scenery and a welcoming, friendly staff. Offers a good place to eat and drink with a stunning view of Dublin.
Great place to go for a cliff walk. You can see all Dublin from up there. Lovely quiet cafe.
Location location location! Good golf courses, pleasant day out, food n drink if u need it..
Decent golf, good greens and a few interesting holes. Great views of Howth and Dublin. The rough can be brutal.
amazing place for golf
Good place to have fun with friends
If you enjoy the outdoors and golf this is the place fabulous views of Dublin an Howth beautiful walks, foot golf and lunch. Only problem hotel closed.
Really fun activity! 17€ per person. Estimated time (3people): 2-3h
Recommended for any age!
This golf course is a show piece, most lovely scenic views of Ireland's eye,and lambay island portmarnock beach, howth castle,

Some Beautiful places to walk and the views are stunning. Incredible place for golfing.
Great views from here, take a stroll up to the woods at the back.nice bar.fantastic view from the top of the rock in the woods.
Good cheap golf course. Staff kind of unfriendly. Food at the bar overpriced. But for a day of golf it's ideal, plus a great view.
Great place for a game of Golf. I love the view from the restaurant. The best view of Dublin with good food great coffee.
Great game of golf..
Lovely place, especially in spring with all of the magenta flowers
Great course, great views
My favorite golf course. Courses are in excellent condition. Lovely atmosphere and views. Pleasant staff.
Beautiful and reasonably priced courses with a great view for beginners and more advanced golfers. Footgolf for something a bit different.
Looks like a beautiful place for golf..we were just cutting across to reach the peak above it.
Fine course ,a good test for any golfer ,exceptional friendly staff
With some improvements would be world class
Really nice place and staff ! The venue is cool and the simulators are great ! I definitely recommend
Awesome golf with also a great footgolf course. One of the best view of Dublin in the center of Howth !
Great view while playing golf. Sad to say restaurant closed
Decent pitch and putt course, well maintained, if you don't mind a second hole on the greens.
Great fun!
Great condition. Great weather
Easy access, great views and perfect for either a quick par 3 round, 9, or 18 course.
Nice and well kept place, but with limited access to castle
They have opened a new cafe very nice beautiful walks around the deer park stunning views

There is a restaurant there too
Lovely coffee and the best views in town. Great walks too.
A nice Golf club with a nice view of town (Howth)
They serve coffee & tea if you want to rest a little.
Footgolf is awesome, and actually harder than you'd expect (have to kick it far to shoot a good score)
Great views, lovely work even if a bit challenging. 👍
Footgolf was great fun. It could do with some different obstacles...nothing crazy hard just to make you think
Love it
Nice walk around the area, can walk up the hill and see the whole Dublin city
Always enjoy the pitch and putt. One of the best p&p courses.

Good golf course for beginners. Very easy going and beautiful views.
Very demanding course as it's very hilly, the hotel is closed I believe and sold. Was only there working on a movie.
Course is in excellent condition. Food in the Bar is terrific. Much improved.
Brilliant fun for a day out of foot-tee. View is cool

A grand day out provided its not to gushty.
Nice place
I don't play either footgolf
or golf but the grounds of Deer park are beautiful. The historic Howth Castle home to the St.Lawerence family is here. This is where Grace O Malley the pirate queen
sought shelter from a storm and was refused entry, legend says she returned that night and kidnapped the Earls son threatening to kill him if she wasn't welcomed, her terms were that a place should always be set at the table and the castle gates always open. To this day the gates of have never been closed and a place laid to welcome those seeking shelter. The rodedendran walk is fabulous with views across Dublin bay. Lady Emily's wood where her ghost walks and Aideens grave along with the transport museum. Much more than just golf.
Sunday afternoon walks are the best

Beautiful place to spend the day, we play golf for €10 each and if you have clubs and balls you go directly at your agreed time. The truth is, my first day playing and it was super fun and you don't realize it and it took almost 4 hours for 18 courses (3 of us went to play) highly recommended!!
Price €15, approximate time 2 hours, the price includes the soccer ball.
Beautiful views and landscape. Perfect place to practice soccer and disconnect in the middle of nature.
It has different types of easy and difficult holes, a perfect plan to spend with friends.
This complex also has a place to play golf.
Highly recommended.
A very nice and quiet place, perfect for playing sports or walking
Great to start with a very nice view
Nice place to see if you are in Howth.
Great place! Especially during the flowering period of rhododendrons.
I had the opportunity to see parts of the golf course thanks to the hike in Howth. Very neat care of the field.
