Our room was huge we had a double bed and two single beds tea coffee making facilities an iron and ironing board hair dryer shampoo and shower gel dispensers are in the bathroom absolutely everything we needed was in the room .
Breakfast was amazing the staff were super and nothing was too much trouble ..
The bar is a lovely area everyone was very friendly. It was nice just having a pint chatting to people.
We went to their pool it is beautiful there was a hot tub a steam room a sauna plus a lovely warm huge bath type pool with water jets very soothing on a sore back ...

J. K.Chowder consisted of steamed cubes of fish and veg swamped in cream without any stock. Goats cheese and fishcakes were good. Lemon panacota was exceptional. The service was excellent but I found it a little expensive at 42 euros for 3 starters, 2 deserts, 2 coffees, a coke and a diluted orange.
C. M.Lovely hotel, staff friendly, place is spotless and is situated in a scenic area. We had the view of the sea from our room. We also had a meal in Jack's bar which was very nice and good portions. Desert was top notch.
J. J.Recently had an overnight stay for a wedding function. Lovely hotel with breath taking scenery and sea views. The main reception and foyer was beautiful too and a lovely place to sit. Our room was abit dated, could have done with a fresh coat of paint and a new carpet with what looked like burns etc on it. The bathroom in our room definitely could do with a revamp. But all that being said, the room was spotless and indeed very comfortable.
The fire alarm was triggered in the early hours but was quickly resolved and we all returned to our rooms quickly. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of variety for all, from cereal to a cooked breakfast.
Over all a lovely stay and it has to be said that all the staff were fantastic and an absolute credit to the place.
My only regret was not booking another night!
We'll definitely be back in the future, this time for a few days!
M. P.We really had a great stay here. The rooms are clean, good service and great food. The location is breathtaking with a great view over the bay.
Two points disappointed me:
1. The guy at the reception was not very friendly.
2. We had to buy bathing caps to have a swim in the pool and other guest weren’t wearing them - it should be the same for everyone.
This said: This hotel is great and I would recommend it to anyone!

S. “. 8.It's a beautiful place in the countryside. I had bought a voucher for £200 from Groupon. It said I would dining credit for a meal for 2, as well as 2 spa experiences for 2. What I received was €10 off per person off a 3 course meal that was €35 per person. I felt it was steep. As for the the spa experience it felt like a joke. I was placed in what seemed like a waterbed... It was meant to be 30min buy was out in under 20min MAX. Then next thing placed in a dark room with low volume music (same music as in the whole building). I have experienced better, but the hotel is gorgeous and the breakfast is decent, considering the pandemic.

E. B.Very nice hotel & friendly staff. I was disappointed that rules about Covid were not being followed. I asked if we needed to show our Covid cert & was told "we didn't need to because we were staying there". Also in bar/restaurant people were coming in without masks which I thought should have been addressed. Government rules were not being adhered to which I thought as a 5* hotel was very wrong.
J. H.A lovely place to stay . Great location 👌 Not a big fan of the 10 euro room charge . A little over the top for a 4 star hotel. The receptionist who checked us in was a true gent . A Lovely welcoming . The receptionist that checked us out was the opposite. She was very cold and didn't even ask did we enjoy our stay. Bed was very comfy and room was very clean. The jacuzzi was filthy . Bar was totally over staffed and we where asked if we wanted drinks prehaps 100 times. Good food tho and well priced. All in all a good experience and given the chance I would certainly return . Thanks to all involved.
A. M.Reception staff were extremely helpful and very professional. The reception looks great and sets up the rest of the experience. Stairs and hallways look like something out of a movie. Price was amazing and such a treat to remember once we arrived that it included breakfast and entry to the pool/gym. Will be coming back again.

P. H.I like the location, however the pictures on their website doesn't match reality. We booked a family room, however I wouldn't rate it 4 star. Even for some water we had to pay extra €7.50. We would had got better treatment with a BB.
E.Lovely meal and service we sat in the conservatory area with wonderful views it has a relaxed atmosphere which was nice. The staff were friendly and could explain dishes that were on the menu. Food was delicious we had the spicy chicken and noodles, chicken and mozzarella and the goat's cheese and vegetable ratatouille tarts (they were the nicest tarts I've ever had)
d. m.One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, staff where so lovely from reception to bar staff, waiting staff, pool staff, cleaners, everyone! We where made so welcome from the minute we arrived until we departed. Rooms where spotless and comfortable. Spa and pool was spotless and a delight. Food from our evening meal to our breakfast was absolutely delicious, just perfect, every dish as good as the last. We will definitely be returning very soon. Can't recommend enough 😍

The Service everything is all Fantastic.. Hand sanitisers everywhere from entry to the lift to the restaurant everywhere.. All the staff wearing face masks too... The Breakfast is really nice.. Great choice.. Hash Brown's.. Sausages.. Egg.. Scrambled.. Beans.. Bacon.. Black pudding.. White pudding.. Pancakes.. Yoghurt.. Fruit bowl.. Cereal.. From rice crispies to weetabix to cornflakes... The room is a great size too.. TV in the room.. Loads of channels.. Swimming pool.. Jacuzzi.. The Beach is about a 20minute walk... 5 minutes drive.. Room has tea and coffee with complimentary water and a biscuit.. Bath and shower.. Iron with ironing board in the room too..

I've been here countless times, for bar food, the restaurant and weddings & the food has never disappointed. The staff are very helpful & smartly dressed. The venue itself is a nice setting inside, with amazing views outside.

Unfortunately the food didn't match the rest. we had bar food and it didn't match up to the rest of the place. It was just ok but not what we expected. The food in Jacks Restaurant was very good and good value. Speaking with other guests all were enjoying the hotel. The area the hotel is in is nice and quite with great sea views. We drove round the coast and so much to see and do. Excellent will be back.

The spa on the basement with pool, sauna, steam room, gym and hot tub is a real bonus and complimentary for all guests. The restaurant food is high quality and even the Jack's bar food is worth trying - all reasonably priced.
C. S.Lovely hotel, staff are friendly but don't expect to stay healthy as the food is amazing. The food and drink is a good price. No need to drink in your room. Would go back but do bare in mind there isn't much around to do but for a break or romantic get away, its perfect. Spa and pool was clean and tidy.
S. O.Hotel set in very nice area with a stunning view from the front of the hotel of the sea and beach. Nice staff and food but let down by loud noise from wedding guests and entertainment to 3am. Strangely the hotel acknowledges this but only provide earplugs when you check into your room. We had asked for a quiet room so we left tired and frustrated that they hadn't let us know that ALL their rooms are prone to noise. Would give it 4 stars if they fixed the noise instead of just providing earplugs !

M. A.Finer funishing of the room needs a bit of a detailed look at, the bath panel and a loose light switch by the bed. Breakfast on the first day was good and plentiful, but not so on the second morning. Staff are very pleasant and we did have a lovely experience.

The room that we were allocated was good, although the third bed which was a just a mattress on the floor, was not comfortable and could not be used. Overall would recommend this hotel to anyone.

L. H.Where do I start. This place is amazing. Got married here on Wednesday 7th August 2019. Kathryn the behind the scenes wedding coordinator could not do enough for us. She was always there to help us with any possible request we could dream up. She really helped us with the timeline on the day. When we walked into the hotel they took over the running of the day and we both felt relaxed and safe in their ability to take over. The little touches that were added on the day by all staff were incredible. I won't mention them and will leave them as a surprise to the next lucky bride. As for Madeleine there is a reason she has one wedding coordinator of the year for the lodge. My guests compared her to a conductor leading an orchestra. From her words of advice as I walked into our reception to her guidance through the day. I also want to point out how my guests were attended to with such courtesy by all members of staff. A number of my guests and special dietary requirements and they were looked after so well. So to conclude I could not be more confident in recommending the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa for your wedding. They exceeded my expectations in every way. The food the wine the overall hotel from every member of staff. Management should be very impressed with their staff and what each person gave to there job. Could not fault any part of the day. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. 2018 and had a wonderful time. We were up graded to the honeymoon suite which was a brilliant surprise and it was absolutely gorgeous, pure luxury. The food as always was perfect and the place has a great atmosphere and also some nice places to sit and have a drink. The staff are so pleasant and helpful and really make you feel at home. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

D. C.I played the old and the new links in the same day. What a treat. Both courses were immaculate. The old course is such a natural classic pure links test, such a feel good course and not too crazy demanding. All levels of players can enjoy it. The new course is top class. World class standard. Fairways are smooth unlike the bumpy fairways of the old course. And the Amazing scenery is breath taking. 2 Beautiful courses .

M. S.Our son got married in this wonderful hotel last week and every aspect of the day really special and magical. The hotel provided excellent pre wedding service especially through the kind and wise guidance of wedding coordinator Kathyrn. On the day we were in the more than capable hands of Madeline who set the most perfect atmosphere for us. This wedding was a fusion of Irish and Estonian cultures and I couldn't be more happy or proud of how this hotel delivered on the day. The standard of cuisine which was an all vegan menu was outstanding and the attention to detail, quality of service and just general friendliness and hospitality was outstanding. We were lucky with the weather which made sitting out at the wedding garden a divine experience. Thank you to Kathyrn and Madeline for making this a very special day. We had guests from Estonia, Mexico, USA, UK and France - they were all truly impressed with Ballyliffin Lodge.

L. M. V. P.I have been to this hotel for weddings on a few occasions, both as a guest and videographer and can honestly say it is a fantastic venue. The staff are always friendly and the food is great too. I sometimes like to stop off for a bowl of soup if I'm surfing down at Pollan Beach at the weekends too.
Oh and I brought the kids to Santa's Grotto last year for the first time, very good show. Made me wish I was 5 again :)

M. M.Our daughter is getting married next year and us having her reception in the Ballyliffin Lodge Hotel & Spa. So it was only natural that her mum and I took a break there to check the venue out. And her grandparents, never ones to shy from the chance of a getaway, came along with us.
The hotel is located in the town of Ballyliffin, on the north Atlantic coast of County Donegal. From we arrived it was obvious that this is an hotel worthy of its 4 stars, with the reception area fitted with gorgeous crystal chandeliers and sumptuous carpets.
The Ballyliffin Lodge is renowned for its food, and as we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, we decided to partake of their carvery dinner. All I can say is, wow!
Our room was as big as two normal sized rooms, with a king size and single bed, plus a fold out sofa bed as well. There was also room to fit in a table and armchairs. The bathroom was a suitable partner for the room, with plenty of room to move about. The only problem was that it had a bath/shower combo and, as I have limited mobility, I couldn't shower.
Our deal was bed and breakfast for two nights stay, so after a very good night's sleep we headed down to replenish our fuel cells for the day ahead. And the breakfast was as good as the dinner the previous day. A fine selection of fruit juices, cereals (with porridge available on request), fresh and dried fruit, breads, and cooked food was available on a buffet service. The cooked food was perfectly done, with a good selection to choose from. I would advise against any more than one rasher of bacon though. They are huge.
On our second evening, we opted for a meal in the bar rather than the restaurant. Again, the selection was very good and prices were very reasonable. As we had a lunch earlier my wife opted for just a game and cheese toastie. My mum had the battered cod and chips, while my dad and I ordered the burger with chips. The burgers were very well presented, a huge patty of freshly ground beef, with cheese, bacon and pickled gherkin in a caramelised bun. It came with chips and a cajun sauce on the side. I made a good attempt at it but I just couldn't finish it off.
Brekfast on our second morning was every bit as good as the first, and really set us up for some shopping and our drive home.
I would recommend the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa to anyone looking for a quiet break in great surroundings. Though there were no children evident, we saw signs on the 1st floor for a "kids club" which should be available in the summer, I expect. My wife used the swimming pool, but was restricted due to water aerobics taking place. But this didn't dampen her enthusiasm.

I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone who is planning on getting married in Donegal , the grounds are beautiful and everyone was so helpful.

p.s. bring a swimming cap if you want to go into the pool. Like all hotels, it's a requirement. Don't worry if you don't have one as you can purchase one for 3 Euros.
