N. S.Amazing hotel. We stayed for 5 nights in one of the family suites. The hotel had lots of activities for the kids. Soft play area, teen zone, mini golf, playground area, swimming pool and movies in the evenings. We stayed at midterm and they had a lot of extra activities including a haunted house, halloween games and an animal show that the kids loved. The staff were really wonderful, so friendly and the food was fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Nice rooms one down side was room 3070 the fan in bathroom sounded like a jet taking off about 1min after you 😳😂. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. There are Tesla destination chargers but they were ICED by none electric cars.

R. S.If you want a quiet relaxing stay this is not the place to go. Every day and night we had kids running loudly down the corridors outside our door. Very family orientated hotel which is great if you have kids, would not recommend for a couple. The food in the hotel was excellent, they have a huge amount of choice. We booked a session for the pool which again was mainly family orientated.

Staff at the restaurant and bar for breakfast and dinner were brilliant and couldn't do enough for the guests. However the only thing that let the hotel down were the staff on reception... Very rude and unwelcoming. Shame as apart from the reception staff, everything else was fantastic.
J.I stayed here for two nights with my husband and three kids. It was ideal for us, as it was very family friendly with lots to do. The family suite had a separate bedroom for the kids and a kitchenette with microwave and fridge. We will definitely be back again.

We booked in here last minute for October midterm break on a friends recommendation. We stayed for 3 nights. First night was in a family superior room. We have three kids aged 2, 5 and 7. We realised that night that we really should have booked a family suite as the
2yr didn't go to sleep until 23:00 as he was distracted by having everyone in the room. Thankfully we checked and found their was an available suite coming free for our remaining two night. The surcharge for the upgrade was very reasonable. We probably would have paid €200 or €300 just got sanity lol.
Restaurant/food
We ate dinner in the hotel the first two nights also just due to convience of not having to lug the kids out somewhere. The kids menus were quite reasonable. €6.50 and they were big portions for being kid sized. Our girls just ate chips which were only €2.50 and seemed to be the same size as the normal portion. I had the Killarney burger which was pretty tasty but a little steep at €16. 12 or 13 would have been more on point. We got the steak the second night and asked for it medium. They were both way over cooked even got well done and didn't have much flavour. I would also recommend just getting the steak sandwich if you are getting it as you seem to get the same amount just in a ciabatta roll(it's not cut up) and it's €5 cheaper for basically the same. So I the food was quite mediocre on a whole. Would suggest just getting takeaway from one of the many places close by.
The breakfast, however, was really good! It was buffet style so you didn't have to wait long even with the hotel being fully booked up for mid term break. Even with it being buffet it was very good quality. Loads of things for picky eating kids like Belgian waffles, pancakes with a selection of syrups, full Irish breakfast and then cereals and fresh fruit bowls.
Kids activities
This hotel had the must activities for kids I have seen. Every day they had two or three things in the till 12 and then in the evening from 5-9. They have a full big soft play area, a gym beside it where they have a bouncy house and other games then a teen zone above that with a little arcade. The pool was great too.
On a whole would definitely recommend if you have kids.
C. K.Stayed in this hotel in August, it was very busy. The hotel is aimed for families and is very kid friendly.
There are 2-3 children clubs available every evening to keep kids entertained, also a fairy garden, crazy golf, playground, tennis and table tennis. There is a soft play area for toddlers.
The swimming pool was open with certain covid restrictions rules ie: pre-booked times, swim suits to be changed into in your room, 10 minutes time limit to dry oneself, change and exit. The sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were open but could only be used by same family group or individually.
Due to the high volume of guest on our visit the place was very busy. Every seating area was used for the evening meal including the lobby. Dinner and breakfast had to be booked.
We we're seated in the bar area (pre-covid times) now an extension of the resturant. With the young families and jovial holiday atmosphere it was very loud.
Our young waitress was very friendly and polite but the wait was atrocious. The food was very bland and disappointing. My mum ordered the Teriyaki Salmon and she got plain boiled Salmon that was unseasoned. I ordered the Cumin and chilli spiced falafel burger that was tasteless and had no chickpea yogurt, which the menu stated it had. We waited over 40mins for our main course.
The waitress apologised for the delay, explaining that there were two large private parties the kitchen had to serve first!! In my opinion for a hotel that knew of prebooked diners & a hotel full of guest with young children, it should not have taken any separate large bookings. Many tables around us were complaining of the length of wait. It is hard to keep hungry children happy. I pitied the waiting staff.
The breakfast was a self service which had long queues for both hot and cold counters. Considering the hotel was fully booked this did not surprise us.
The hotels room were clean. Due to the hotel been kid friendly expectant lots of noise, ie running along corridor, crying babies and unruly children. The rooms are not soundproof so if you are a light sleeper or looking for a couple romantic gateaway, I would not recommend this hotel.
P. D.Arrived at reception asked for name and nothing else and given room number. In Room and very clean and got a lovely tray for two with brownies delivered to room. Went to bar no worries enjoyed drinks and back to room quick change and down to resteraunt. Let me let you know that this is a family hotel. During meal kids running around tables in restaurant down stairs back up again on and on. Meals were fabulous but on one night our plates from starters were quickly removed and main course plated within minutes to fast for me and wife. Staying in the resteraunt breakfast was amazing and the manager a very pleasant guy. Leisure centre spottless but disappointed that I could not shower and had to go back a little uncomfortable after using steam room and sauna never had this before in other hotels. So if hotel were to separate couples in other part of resteraunt like ourselves I would have spent more on drinks and relaxed. A few more words on arrival would of been nice. So I give 3 stars.

Food in bar ok but once you have ate there u seen it all really very limited menu . Breakfast was good each morning very hard to get tea and toast do unfortunately alot of staff but they look very young so probably just summer staff and just doing what they have to do .kids lived themselves here dont get me wrong nice hotel but just lacking a few things the drinking and roaring in corridors not great management need to step up and sort that problem plus be no harm to stick a few specials in in the bar each night and try and keep ppl eating in the hotel overall a good week

C. M.Ah grand Hotel basic for the money there charging. 15 minute walk to town and no pubs or restaurants near it is a pain. Power went the second morning so we could not use the pool and the use of the pool is one of the main reasons why we choose to stay there...

Chicken wings ok, not very spicy. Burger was delicious so no complaints there . Staff not great, service very slow and a lot of them standing around doing nothing when tables need attention .

Couldn’t sleep. We woke at 4am came down to hopefully get a coffee before hitting the road and we were greeted by the wonderful Eileen. She truly was the ‘Mammy of all mammys!’ & She couldn’t have been more accommodating. Even filled our bottles with ice. Thank you so much for giving us a great start to day. 🚴🏼♀️🚴

E. S.Great location for touring around killarney. They are well set up for families with large family suits consisting of adjoining rooms and kitchenettes. There is a private playground, crazy golf and soft play area for kids. They already have a kids club with movies in the evenings and games during the day. There is also a teen area with pool tables and games. Breakfast was very good or kids loved the pancakes, but there is plenty to choose from. Now it's all served carvery style.

R. M. G.Lovely stay at this family friendly hotel. Even though it is a large hotel it never felt too busy...very laid back with friendly helpful staff. Clean, large family room and the kids loved the pool as well as the many activities to keep them entertained. Food in the bar was lovely and the outside seating area overlooks the children's playground which was good. We would recommend this hotel and stay again! Acoustics not great though as you can hear people out in the corridor but disruption was minimal....corridors are quite long getting to and from rooms but we got our bearings fairly quickly.

G. D.A lot of noise here. Lots of kids everywhere doing noise in corridors until 1-2 am. We stayed 3 nights here. Soundproofing of the room is extremely poor. In addition all the piping system make a lot of noise, enough to wake you up in the middle of the night.
Breakfast is average. Basic irish breakfast with only black tea or American coffee included. The pancake machine is fun but terribly slow; especially when you have a queue of 10 kids waiting to do 5 pancakes each.
Swimming pool is good but close too early (even sooner during the weekend !! which doesn't any sense). Lots of parking.
t. D. R.Very family oriented, it has an on site softplay area, arcade games and pool tables. It also has a drop in "crèche" and activities for the kids during the day. The pool is nice and they have armbands that the kids can use. The locker rooms are a bit cold, but the showers are lovely and warm. They have a play pen (travel cot) in the ladies locker room which is great for keeping the smallies safe while you get changed. I was told that they don't have one in the gents, which is a shame. Overall, a great hotel for all.I highly recommend

Although we don't have kids think this is ideal for families as they have an indoor pool/games room/activities for children. 3 min drive from the hustle and bustle of the town centre (good night's sleep without loud bars till 2am). Will definitely stay here again for future travel.
M. B.What I usually do in hotels is try a normal room for 1 day and then If I like it I would upgrade to a suite. This wasn't the case... First Problem was the pillows. There was a little bit of hair on one of the pillows. Second was the toilet. IT WAS A DISGRACE. Hair was on the floor. And there was even uRiNe in the bathtub. Breakfast was great. And swimming was great. Just fix the rooms please

L. D. N.This is an ok hotel if you are going with children as the bedrooms are a reasonable size and the hotel has swimming pool and a playground. Mediocre breakfast and poor quality food in the restaurant. Service mediocre too. What I really didn't like about this hotel is that the hotel itself is so big and has so many rooms that, depending on which room you are staying, you may have to walk for 10 minutes to get to your room from the lift. Which is not ideal when you have young children.
C. O. B.Staff 5/5 excellent! I mean that. However hard to sleep at times due to the bedroom doors of other guests slamming throughout the night and early morning. A soft close device badly needed on doors! The doors close gently and on last second just slam!! But a bit of cop on too from parents goes a long way when their kids are tearing up and down the hallways at 6am or on way back from bar at 2am with their parents screaming and roaring.
But for kids activities, Free Crazy Golf was fab and the wild bunnies running around were fun to watch. Pool and Kids Club was Great too. Would return again the kids really enjoyed it and something on throughout the whole day from 10am to 9pm and later with kids club if needed.

D.....if you are on a couple trip this hotel is loaded with families and kids. Seems as if that is their main market. That being said there does some to be a fair amount of activities for the kids. The rooms could use some upgrading, as they are just a utilitarian, standard hotel room. The shower head, in our room, came apart like a rocket nearly hitting my wife at high velocity. We brought this to the attention of the front desk staff. She seemed very concerned and said it would be fixed straight away. Well, we stayed for 4 days and it was never fixed. Baths only for us. On the up side the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. Restraunt food was good; however, at my first meal it took 3 times of bringing the wrong order before the actually brought my correct order. No big deal I was not in a hurry, the staff was very apologetic and comped my meal. There was live music almost every night; although, one night was an Elvis impersonator, which seemed and bit dated and isn't really my thing. It is a bit of a walk into the city center but cabs are available. As far as nearby attractions, Killarney National Park is beautiful with lots to do and see. I would also recommend Killarney Falconry, a landing tour of Skellig Michael Island, a sunset kayaking tour of the lake and Murphy's Bar. All were great experiences. Overall the hotel made for a suitable place to sleep between taking part in events outside the hotel.
R. F.Overall our stay was great, our boys loved the teen room and outdoor activities. The only complaint i have is the poor quality of breakfast, all ingredients of a low brand, no fresh friit, except apples & oranges, no berries, cheap bread, lumpy porriage, all sitting precooked, hard boiled eggs. Terrible pancakes, almost no staff to help, pool staff not friendly. Very busy like a village with kids wild, but it was easter, also extra lounge room freezing. Dove shower gel/shampoo caused rash, on my sons skin. The rooms great.

C. G.Great place for kids. We went over the Oct bank holiday and there was something on every day for kids. My 10 year old loved it. We had dinner in the restaurant on 1 night and it was lovely.
About 20 mins walk from the town or a few mins in a taxi.
The hotel is in need of some serious TLC though. Parts are starting to look run down, which is a shame because it has potential.

The wifi was ok when connected however it very flakey in our room resulting in constant disconnection and reconnection. I just switched the wifi off but if you didn't have mobile coverage it would have been miserable.
R. W.Hotel Killarney was a memorable hotel. I was saying there due to a personal important event at the time and it did a fantastic job of making me feel welcome and a valued customer.
I recall the food being delicious and during the time period I was there, they had live music every night, though it was the summer time.
One nitpick I did have was that my room was quite the hike from reception and where the pub was. That was a bit frustrating but doesn't spoil my stay at the hotel whatsoever.
If you're visiting Killarney for a week or a weekend I'd personally recommend Hotel Killarney.

So slightly restricted for the smaller kid. As you need to be three plus for a majority of activities. Very plesent staff and hotel was overall very clean. Bar food and restaurant food quite pricey.

Staff are very polite and friendly and helpful The facilities for kids from a very large soft play area to the bouncy castles, tethered basketball, teen zone with airhockey and video games, outdoor playground and indoor pool, are just great. Not to mention the supervised crèche inside the hotel where you can leave the little ones and enjoy some quiet time in the hotel bar. They have organised activities for the kids as well during the summer. We've stayed here on two occasions both times during the June Bank Holiday when the Harley Davidson bike fest is on and it's been a great experience on both occasions. A good base for those looking to tour around the ring of kerry as well.

To name a few, there was bubble football, an indoor jungle-gym style place, outdoor karting, crazy golf, a pool with inflatables on particular days and an inflatable bungee run. There was also a sizeable teen area with bean bags, games machines and pool tables where your teen offspring can go to get away from the parents. Food was great. Zum Zentrum sind es ca. 20 Minuten zum Laufen und der Killarney Nationalpark liegt nur 10 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt.
