Had a brilliant time as usual, Staff are always very welcoming, The food is top shelf and reasonably priced.
Great atmosphere in the hotel bar.
For the outdoor kind of people plenty of beautiful walkways and a golf course.
I'd highly recommend. And most definitely will be back.
One of my favourite places.

Beautiful stay with consistently gorgeous meals. LIZ at the front desk is a treasure! & went out of her way for us! all of the staff were absolutely brilliant & we felt like we were with family. Food at the Smokehouse was unreal! Tom was very good to us.
Everywhere else feels like a let down after staying here! Lodge rooms by the river are so peaceful. Thank you, Wooden bridge Hotel we'll definitely be back!!! Thank you very much for minding us so well.

Room in new section of hotel (as in picture on website).......Beautiful view.
Excellent food.
Staff excellent too, very pleasant and helpful.

Location stunning, staff very polite and attentive in the main. We stayed in the lodge and the rooms were basic but immaculate. Breakfast was below par, one of the items ordered didn't turn up. I brought to the attention of one of the waitresses and I was told they would see to it immediately (I'm still waiting). Pouched eggs I asked for soft (they were extremely hard), mushrooms were grey and swimming. The restaurant was not busy and no, I did not pursue the issues as I was fed up at that point (no pun intended). In the main the staff were great though. I rate as average as the accomodation needs upgrading and my experience with breakfast. I would stay there again if needs must ๐

If you are looking for an amazing hotel in County Wicklow, IrelandI highly recommend staying at The Woodenbridge Hotel.. Upon my arrival to this amazing hotel I was made feel very Welcome. When I arrived I was immediately taken care of by the staff. The hotel is not far the from Arklow and Aughrim. Also not far from the Woodenbridge World War One Memorial. My room was perfect! If you want breakfast make sure you let the staff know upon your arrival. As stated in the above I was made feel very Welcome. When I was checking out I was able to leave my luggage with the staff while waiting for my taxi. This really was so nice of the hotel. It should be noted I served all the World with the U.S.Marines and lived in the United States of America for over thirty years. I definitely know an amazing hotel from my travels and life experiences . I definitely will stay at this amazing hotel in the near future again. The Woodenbridge Hotel rates Five Stars and more! you definitely wonโt be disappointed.

We stayed in the hotel recently and we really enjoyed our stay. We found the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our time there. We also had a lovely meal in The Smokehouse restaurant with good service as well. If I had any negatives we stayed in the Lodges and I thought the room we stayed in could do with a make over but was otherwise was clean. Would I return and the answer is yes absolutely.

We didn't actually stay at the hotel, instead we ate at the nearby busy Smoke House restaurant. Extremely friendly staff, on hand to help with the slightest issue a customer might have. Beautiful surroundings deep in rural Co. Wicklow. Good food provided in sizeable portions. Facilities clean and hygienic. Four of us were eating and three of us had two course meals each. The other had a cup of coffee instead of desert, which came to roughly E150 in total. To be recommended. Good if you're having a party or some sort of celebration.

Had a meal in the bar tonight. We arrived without a booking, but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Although the bar was extremely busy, we were served really quickly and the food was just fabulous. Fantastic service tooโฆ.highly recommend ๐คฉ

Very clean,staff very friendly.
Food is of very good quality and reasonabley priced. Overall a nice relaxing place to stay.

Stayed here with a group for a golf trip. The staff couldn't do enough for you from organising the golf to even giving us a weather report for the day when we met for breakfast. Meal and staff that evening was brilliant and very helpful. Not the first time I had a golf group here and it won't be the last ๐๐

Great looking building and history surrounding it. I couldn't praise the staff in the bar enough for arranging a table for us to watch the euro final. The hotel room itself was great (view great) but maybe just not quite hitting the highest level of presentation. Went across to the bbq at the lodge across the road. Food was great, service not as great as in the hotel.
D. N.
Lovely dinner menu in bar area. Terrific history to place. Very picturesque. Came recommended and didn't disappoint
H.
Amazing place food wise. We have been trying their "take away" menu until they stopped it and we couldn't be happier. Hats off to the chef! Now they offer outdoor "pub" kind of restaurant by the river and it is an amazing atmosphere. I'd like to thank once again for one lady one gentlemen who seemed to be the managers who were kind enough to offer us the menu and explained their tent.

If I could this hotel 10 stars I would, from start to finish we were looked after so well on our anniversary weekend. The rooms in the lodge are spotless and modern, the Smokehouse restaurant is so nice, huge portions and definitely for the carnivours amongst us. The second night we ate in the bistro in the hotel itself and it was even more delicious. I can't praise the staff highly enough and its great to see life returning somewhat back to normal and people returning to staycations and supporting our Irish hospitality sector that has suffered the most in the past 18 months.
M. O.
The Smoke House has amazing food. I had a t-bone steak and 2 weeks later I'm still thinking how good it was. I will definitely be back
J. C.
Friendly and attenive staff food was delicious ,rooms could do with a spruce up in lodge area

Thanks to the bar man that served me lunch today. It was really nice and I know you were mad busy but, I couldn't fault the service. Thanks to the chefs for amazing food. ๐

Cosy welcoming hotel, steeped in history. Facilities and room were fairly basic but the staff were incredibly accomodating, warm and friendly. The staff made the stay.

Sometimes a place can be defined by it's staff. This is definitely one of them. Friendly, professional and helpful they lift this perfectly fine hotel to another level.
b. b.
Outdoor area is real nice, heaters were being fitted the weekend we stayed which will help when the sun goes down. Stayed in the lodge, room was fine, but the fire door in the hall would bang every time someone walked through, it was the main entrance and exit to the building.
T. C.
A lovely new addition to the Hotel is the Smokehouse. Situated beside the Avoca River with beautiful views and garden. The food on offer is very casual dining but delicious on the premises smoked chicken .beef dishes with delicious sides. Outdoor dining there is very much geared to our typical Irish weather with plenty of shelter and heat should you need it and picnic benches out on the terrace should the sun shine, which it did in abundance when we were there.
R. M.
Lovely place here in the vale of Avoca.
The staff are all very polite and helpful. The bed is very comfortable and rooms are very clean and bright .Looking forward to my continental breakfast in the morning..
F. W.
Food was delicious and the service was every bit as good, hig recommend
J. D.
Stay here for 2 nights b&b,our room was down a side road across from the hotel.
Room was double and single bed in it,very comfortable, bathroom is spacious as well.
Had to go to main hotel for main breakfast as there was only buffet in the place where our bedroom was.
Overall place was nice and clean, staff where very helpful and friendly, menu was the same for the 2 nights.
G. T.
Nice pleasant hotel, could do with some improvements in decor. Breakfast was plentiful. Very good location.
M. C.
Historical hotel in the secluded and relaxing Vale of Avoca.. Also golfclub opposite hotel. Lots of forest and mountain walks also. Great food at hotel. Lovely views.

Loved or visit to Woodenbridge Hotel it wasn't or first and won't be our last. We only book hotels with electric car chargers and how lucky are the Woodenbridge to come up as a destination to avail of for Tesla Destination Chargers in every onboard screen in Teslas Cars. The spaces could do with being painted Green so the chargers aren't blocked. But other than this it's a great facility Wonderful Staff and fab food and as stated will recommend to fellow EV Drivers!
W. G.
We had dinner at the Smokehouse restaurant. It was in an outside tent and had an awesome vibe. The service was excellent and the food was presented quickly. As a South African, I am probably a bit too demanding on the quality and preparation of my steak, and found it to be a bit tough and not Medium Rare as ordered, but more Well Done. But the overall experience was so good that I will be supporting them as often as possible in the future - good job!
J. A.
Top class, beautiful hotel and lodge, fantastic food in the hotel, and fantastic food in there new smokehouse, and the staff are very friendly and helpful lovely bunch of people, highly recommend a stay here, such a beautiful place in a beautiful setting.

Lovely hotel and nice breakfast but unfortunately we could only get a buget room .We were told by the receptionist that the bar would close early and there would be very little noise .This wasn't the fact .People drank and chated outside till about 2 am and it was difficult to get to sleep.
I. M.
Lovely location and hotel. Staff very friendly, helpful and very professional. Had lunch in the Smokehouse and dinner in the Bistro. Both meals were lovely. Breakfast was great too. Attention to detail was excellent. Would highly recommend Woodenbridge Hotel.

All the staff without exception were just lovely and made our stay so enjoyable.

We had the most amazing experience great food for all.. Just think huge bbq with friends and family that you don't have to slave over. Perfect for a birthday party or any occasion.. Plenty of choice for all xx

The Lodge only includes continental breakfast but the hotel includes full breakfast. Not displayed on booking page unless you drill down into more info. Misleading. Otherwise nice hotel with friendly staff

Really enjoyed staying at the beautiful Woodenbridge Hotel. Very comfortable room, lovely surrounding area with many hiking trails, great restaurant downstairs and superb value for money.
M. O.

Very helpful and polite staff and management. Will definitely be back

We stayed in Woodenbridge Hotel on Thursdsy June 3rd on a package that included Golf,Dinner B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All Covid restrictions were complied with but the wearing of masks didn't take away from the warm greetings we received from every member of staff we came in contact with. Our room had stunning views, was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food was great as was the service in both the dining room and bar. The hotel is graded 3 Stars but was definitely 5 Star when it came to the welcome and service. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and look forward to returning ING.

b. f.
Beautiful place for our wedding, food, staff and accommodation perfect
P. C.
This is a three star hotel in name only - it is far superior to most four star hotels. Location is amazing - one of the most scenic parts of Wicklow. Rooms are very well appointed. The food is excellent - locally sourced, fresh, well cooked and presented. Most of all, the staff are great - friendly efficient and obviously happy to work there. Well worth a visit!
M. O.
Great food, great service from staff, highly reccomended ๐
r. f.
Absolutely lovely room at the lodge looking over the river, staff were brilliant.
D. J.
Hotel really is doing utmost to stay on top of the Covid problem. All systems were in place and in the bar/restaurant staff we witnessed staff fastidious in their endeavours to keep the place clean and safe.
Tables were comprehensively cleaned, chairs same, menus etc all cleaned, room had been cleansed before our stay and of course nobody entered during our stay so important to remember to hang towels etc as no maid service ( for mutual safety)
Food was delicious, having been eating at home for 5 months I found the portions massive and couldn't finish, but beautifully cooked and good range.
We were in the lodge and it was lovely too, but that's where our problems lay.
I'm disabled and had been allocated a lovely disabled room, however there were no disabled parking spaces at the lodge. This caused difficulty in that the spaces close by where always taken and I had to park a fair distance away which meant painful walk to room.
Also we drove up for our meals at main hotel but the only two disabled spaces were blocked by laundry vans first day and overnight parking of a tree surgeon's trailer and equipment on night two.
I had to drive back to the lodge and with help from my wife climb the steep hill back to main road and same up to hotel, this left me exhausted and sore, curtailing our itinerary by about half. We also got soaked through in the rain as when it starts I am unable to run.
We loved the hotel but having no disabled parking at the lodge and only two spaces at the hotel that were allowed to be blocked by trailers and lorries shows a lack of understanding of disabled guests needs.
Would I recommend? Yes, absolutely but if you have mobility issues then definitely not.
Would I return? Would love to but until parking is available and used for blue badge holders only it would not be suitable.
S. A. P.
The smokehouse is incredible. We had the pulled pork and it was the best we have ever had. The set up is very impressive.

Had dinner here Sunday evening the staff were lovely, service good, food was just OK.
M. S.
Well recommended! It was my firs meal out in the post locdown time, the C19 guidelines are implemented in this place. Yet you still feel good, the service is nice, and the food very very tasty. Food is served on warm plates which is nice, (Yes, I notice this things ๐) and the veg were well cooked, but not overcooked which is great.๐ฅฆ๐ฅ Despite being positioned very close to the road, the views from the restaurant are spectacular, enjoy!
To staff and management - Thank you for a great experience! โค๐๐

We enjoyed a quiet drink outside with a view of the Vale of Avoca. There is also an outdoor bar area with bbq food called the Smokehouse.
M. L.
Staff wear lovely and the food was 1st class
E. H.
Lovely hotel. Wonderful food served timely. Very very good adherence to Covid Rules, nearly all staff wearing Visors. One rude barman who nearly attacked us when we rightly queried a drinks order but the rest of the staff , from waitresses to management were so friendly and accommodating, it would be harsh to say anything bad overall.
D. B.
Great food and very friendly staff
S. A.
A very busy little place despite its location. Food was good and staff very friendly and helpful.
C.
Wonderful weekend not only was the weather amazing but so was the Hotel staff.....first real time this year to leave the house and venture out for a weekend break. Hotel has done a great job making you feel safe and relaxed....well done to all who make a difference in the new norm.
H. M.
I was nervous traveling with my partner and small child with everything going on with Covid but as soon as I arrived in Woodenbridge Hotel, all my concerns eased. Every precaution has been taken. The rooms were immaculately clean and were sterilized before we entered. All their bars and restaurants have 2 meters between each table, so we could stay as long as we liked and we could really enjoy our evening. The table service was excellent and all the staff were really friendly & helpful. Great Irish food on offer. We particularly loved the Lamb Shanks and Fish and Chips. The Malbec and the local IPA were delicious. We had a great night and really enjoyed our short break. Thanks for everything.
H. P.
Clean and comfortable, very friendly and helpful staff.

What a wonderful location, in the heart of Wicklow. Lovely old world hotel with wonderful staff and service; friendly, caring and dressed safely (Covid-19).
Modern wing, at reasonably priced rates, just 80 meters away, down by the river.

Fabulous place to stay excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff
I. M. D.
Amazing food, beautiful views ๐. Excellent service ๐
G. O.
Lovely situation and brilliant for golf next door
S. G.
We had our wedding here during covid times, and would highly rate the excellent staff team who made our day run without a hitch. The lawn by the river was a stunning location for an outdoor BBQ and lawn games, and thankfully we didn't need the backup function room - which was set up beautifully just in case. The food was excellent. Gillian the wedding co-ordinator had everything running like clockwork and was totally on top of the day from start to finish. Gerard the general manager obviously runs a tight ship and was great to deal with when we weren't sure about making the initial booking. Majella on reception even ran out when I was getting into my car to help dust off the car step! Nothing was too much to ask - the hotel lent us champagne glasses to use at a different location and even last minute emergency extra vases for the church! There was a 'can do' attitude from the team overall. The hotel has a very high level of covid precautions - with sanitiser stations mounted on walls, staff cleaning visibly, near-constantly, and PPE worn by all staff. Julie-anne was lovely to me on the final morning and really calmed me down over an issue that arose. Overall we had the most fabulous time and were delighted with our choice.
t. c.
We had a lovely lunch and the staff were great will definitely be back
G. L.
Great service and well organised covid wise. The food is pretty decent, but the rooms look a little dated, and the guy in charge of the bar is very grumpy (any time of the day/ evening). Apart from that, fantastic ๐๐๐๐
L. S.
I absolutely love this hotel. Such a tranquil setting. Close to all amenities and the beach is a short drive away. The staff are friendly and the food is 100%.The breakfast in the morn is so well set up. A choice of everything and the lady always approaches my little boy each time to see if he'd like pancakes. It's the extras that make this hotel so great. Cleanliness is top notch.
N. W.
Great food & lovely staff.
M. A.
Beautiful hotel. Old world type great atmosphere. Food fabulous. Staff very nice and helpful. The hotels location is fantastic great views. Would highly recommend it.
A.
Lovely traditional hotel apparently the oldest in Ireland but its all refurbished and modern in same time. Beautiful views of the valley and really nice atmosphere. Staff is very kind and top customer service. I recommend cocktails and also food is yummy.
T.
Not bad, food was so so
M. H.
Nice drive up from Dublin. We stopped off for lunch and weren't disappointed. It was a cold Sunday and on arrival it was nice to see the open fire and feel the heat as we came through the door. Food was wholesome, tasty and piping hot. Just how it should be. Staff were very friendly & efficient. We will be back again soon.
W. L.
Visited for dinner and was quite pleased with the selection of meals, service, food quality and pricing. The bistro was very busy but the staff didnโt skip a beat - they were efficient without being curt. The other people in my group also really enjoyed it.
T. R.
Good food and nice setting but it was very loud with people trying to shout over tinny sounding music.
N. M. M.
Went to a wedding here 2weeks ago and staff were excellent. Venue for food etc was set up lovely, we were all so full from the food we all took a good nap after! Nice temperature and rooms were what you needed. The only thing Iโd mention is the floorboards creek a good bit and you can feel them being a little uneven. It was only in one section of the room but could do with replacing some of the floors
A. D.
Great time here as usual.
We stay in the lodge. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great location unless you hate great scenery or walks. Very near to the likes of glendalough.
Food is great in the bar and staff are great. I had a few funny requests and Catriona was very nice about it. Had a steak and man was it cooked well.
Rooms are clean and we'll decorated. Great view of the river from the lodge.
K. S.
A pleasure from start to finish, staff were so helpful and couldn't have done more with no fuss . Hotel has loads of character and is in a beautiful location. Your staff are you're biggest asset!!! All brilliant to deal with. Can't wait to go back !!!
R. A.
Sunday lunch with the family was excellent and great options for the kids not just the usual fried food. You could get half portion of an adult meal. Staff were attentive but not o n your face. Lovely views and settings.
N. M.
We love it here food is amazing scenery spectacular and staff lovely ๐๐โค
D. D.
Excellent love the food there
J. F.
The hotel is in an absolutely beautiful location. We had a room up off of the ground floor with a small balcony and a couple of windows facing out to beautifully green forests and hills. We left the windows open all night and the breeze coming into the room made it wonderful for sleeping. The room itself was quiet. We read before arriving that the rooms over the bar area are not very quiet so we had requested a room on the other side of the hotel. When they had us booked in a room over the bar, we had to talk to the staff about changing our room but they were very polite and accommodating to our request. My only two complaints with the room were that there were quite a few spider webs around the windows and balcony and there were even spiders in our room. They didn't bother us at all but it seems like a quick thing to clean the spiders and their webs away from the windows and out of the rooms. The other thing was that all of the outlets were on the opposite side of the room at the beds. I wasn't able to plug my phone in up by the bed and in order to hook up my CPAP for sleep apnea, I had to run the cable all across the room. It was a minor inconvenience but it seems the design could have been thought through better. Other than these two things, we were very happy with our stay here.
S. W. M.
Great food and friendly service. Highly recommend.
J. P. T.
Beautiful food and one of the best views I've seen in a long time. Staff were so accommodating. We had two dogs with us so they set up a table for us out on the balcony.

J. O.
Rooms clean and warm. Food delicious and tasty. Staff helpful, attentive and friendly. Scenery and locality are breathtaking. History in abundance locally. See for yourself.
C. D.
Came here for dinner. Nice enough place and if we we're put at a table in a dark corner near the door it would have been better. Food was nice but bit overpriced for what you get.
G. N.
The Woodenbridge Hotel has recently had their restaurant renovated and it has really brightened, expanded and modernised the restaurant part of the hotel. You now have beautiful views of the golf course and surrounding area which makes it a lovely experience. The menu choice is brilliant and has something for everyone and all reasonably priced too. The food is cooked to perfection each and every time we have visited. They also have lovely food choices for children which makes it a great overall family experience. Would highly recommend for cost dinner or a family gathering.
A. M.
Was here for my motherโs wedding. Stayed in the lodge and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. The food was brilliant too. Also great views from there.

Loved the quiet and peaceful setting of Arklow. Great getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Restaurant serves generous portions and it won't break the bank. The pub/bar is a lively place in the evenings too with a different performer playing daily. The walks around the area provide lots of fresh air and spectacular views of the countryside.

We stopped at the Woodenbridge Hotel for lunch on Saturday and returned for Sunday lunch. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.
The hotel, one of the oldest in Ireland, first opened in 1608. Many famous figures from Irish history stayed there, such as Daniel OโConnell, Charles Stewart Parnell, John Redmond, Michael Collins, and Eamon De Valera to name but a few.
Its location in the Vale of Avoca makes it a beautiful stopping point.

Myself and my sister recently stayed in woodenbridge for an overnight girlie getaway. From the moment we checked in, until we checked out the next day all members of staff went out of their way to accommodate any requests we had, or cater for anything we needed. I have coeliac disease also, and the staff were really knowledgeable and talked me through the menu of what foods were suitable etc. The chef even made chips for me separately in fresh oil so they wouldn't be contaminated. When checking out,we realized we hadn't used our voucher for tea and scones on arrival so we were allowed to use it before we left. Unfortunately the restaurant had no gf scones and I asked for a gf sandwich instead. The server would not let me pay for the sandwich as I could not eat the normal scones! All in all I could not say enough good things about our stay, and I will definitely stay again based on my experience.
B. H.
Great location in the 'Garden of Ireland'.
Accommodation was fine for a short stay. Restaurant food was very good.
I have stayed in both the hotel and lodge. No complaints and would definitely go back.
E. L. C.
Stayed in a lodge recently which was a lovely room. Double bed was a bit small compared to other hotels and lodges we've been to but our sleep was ok. Breakfast was very fresh and cooked lovely! Our only disappointment was the tv in the room. We only had about 3 channels to watch excluding rte news now and saorview info but assuming this was partly due to weather as it was raining heavily.
G. K.
Beautiful place with a good feel of history. Nice surroundings, spacious classical decorated rooms. Good beds. Value for money. Only minus: sound insulation of people on hallway. But that also had its charm.
p. f.
Had a lovely stay for 2 nights staff were amazing food also enjoyable great job done by the management for the times we are going through
D. C.
Lovely hotel and lodge with great staff excellent customer service.
M. H.
Fabulous place to stay. Covid safe hotel. Staff all wearing makes and everyone following the rules. Highly recommended for a few days brake.
T. B.
Except for phone coversge in lodges everything grest
J. B.
Stayed for a weekend, staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Food in the hotel was really good, rooms spotlessly clean
D. B.
Excellent service/lovely staff Great menu for families not just the usual burgers etc but they are included too
S. H.
Course in great condition. Super service in the Pro Shop.
N. O.
A stunning hotel with an even better view. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. We can't thank the staff enough for all their help. Lovely rooms and comfortable beds also.
S. H.
We were a group of nine. The glasses we were given for water were all completely filthy and slow to be replaced. The seafood chowder was like a bowl of warm cream with a few bits of fish to garnish. Steak was quite chewy, and cheesecake quite plain. Overall feedback across the board was bland tasteless and over priced. However the saving grace was the lamb shank and the tapioka pudding. It must be said the meat fell off the bone and that the pudding was perfectly light and balanced although there was a tad much compote.
P. S.
This is great hotel for a country getaway. The rooms are not modern, but very comfortable and functional but ideally you'll be out and about at this location. Word of warning for you - It looks like they have gone to Woodies and bought sandpaper instead of toilet roll - take your own The free breakfast is nothing special, but edible. The bacon contained little pools of fat and I don't know if there was any meat content in the sausage. I had a sirloin steak for dinner, I asked for medium but it came a little well done - nothing I thought worth complaining about. It still tasted great. The bad bits of the hotel are just niggles as the view, comfort and location make up for this. It even has a proper shower instead of an eco shower that most places have.
c. w.
Love it . It's a lovely place enjoy my stay . Staff are lovely and friendly. Love the room nice and clean . Would recommend to all my friends.
D. H.
Food was lovely we had the stuffed vegetable so nice
P. B.
Nice hotel for short break, covid-19 compliant, nice staff, only downfall rooms are very small which reflects on the size of the bed, if your used to a big double bed it ain't for you, other wise all good
d.
We stopped in for a quick bite to eat, beautiful food, lovely staff, great views and it came so quickly - we were delighted as we didn't have too much time to wait!
N. W.
Wedding food tasting, absolutely fantastic, Gillian was gracious, the staff friendly, unassuming and work effortlessly around guests. Nothing was too much for them. Food, did I mention food... FABULOUS.
L. P.
Stopped for lunch on a Princess Cruise tour bus seeing Dublin and Glendalough. Didn't get to see the rooms but the restaurant (and especially the restrooms) were very nice and well kept. The food was a standard meat and potatoes sort of thing that was well done and the staff was very friendly.
M. F.
Fantastic lunch & lovely staff
H. N.
Lovely staff, and quaint hotel..
J. W.
It was OK food was very cold
N. H.
Had a great night good food and pints and massive tv
E. Q.
lovely spot great hotel been here 3 times very helpful staff we stayed in the lodge lovely peaceful and just a few miles from avoca good spot as gorey tullow and aughrim and arklow about 20 0dd minutes away and of course glendalough
C. N. D.
Beautiful place. Lovely staff. Delicious food. Hotel is very well organised in relation to Covid-19. I felt very safe throughout my stay.
A. G.
Only use this place as a bar or restaurant. Not stayed here for a while. Been coming here on trips for the past 20 years. Consistently good food. Improved bar area.
C.
We stopped in of a sunday round 3pm..
No reservations but got a nice table without delay..we ordered leg of lamb mash patotoes, roast patotoe, stuffing, mint sauce yorkshire pudding ,gravey..herself had turkey ham dinner.we also had ribs with bbq sauce to start with...we shared the starter and we also had chocolate brownie with vanilla Ice cream plus whipped cream to finish off a wonderful meal...
Roman is the head chef and everything was perfect.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel for a meal..everything was spot on...we cant wait to get back around the avoca area for another little treat...
Roman and his chefs did a great job our meals cost 48 euros without drinks we had cordials...5er tip for our waiter and everyone was happy..delighted as we had been meaning to go here for quite some time...
I have one little complaint for the manager of the dining room please try and get rubber shoes on the legs of the chairs as the noise when someone pulls out the chairs to sit or get up is distracting and very loud.timber legs on a timber floor...apart from that perfect...
K. A. H.
Very friendly staff..spacious bar area..rooms are basic but fine..beautiful scenery..shop 600m away..bar food was lovely.
G. o.
Nice hotel to say In. there's a lodge less than a minute walk away from the main hotel very comfortable and quiet. I've stayed in both the hotel and the lodge and found both great. For lodge is quieter at night I would recommend the lodge as functions can be a bit noisy in the main hotel till around 2am. This is the oldest hotel in lreland and steeped In history. Well worth a visit.
A. K.
Staff excellent great location for our golfing break.
m. o. r.
Spent a few days in the Hotel a few weeks ago.. Hotel room was lovely, spacious and clean....Hotel staff friendly and bar area good. Bar food also very good.
Breakfast was terrible. Firstly there was a queue for breakfast..a wait for half hour...tablecloth was dirty..and the room itself needed a good clean...breakfast could not be eaten as there were dead flies on the window sill and flying around the breakfast room...
P. C.
GOOD SERVICE JUST HAD LUNCH GOOD
J. H.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff & compliments to the chefs.
a. b.
overall everything we needed for our stay
D. R.
A bit off the beaten track, but in a very picturesque location. Staff were very friendly and helpful the food in the restaurant is very good, and breakfast was fine although no Danish pastries (and I don't know why the chef cooked a mountain of black pudding -which was very nice) I got the impression that they were a little short staffed, but that is a common theme these days. No problems with parking I was in the lodge(which has a lovely backdrop for weddings) which was away from the main building, but the room was adequate (ie nothing special but no complaints) Next time I'm in Wexford, I'll certainly have it on my list if places to consider staying at. To the staff - Thankyou for looking after me during my stay
G. R.
Can't fault the place the staff are so friendly
D. L.
Great spot always a really relaxed atmosphere and food never disappoints. Reasonably priced and quick service.
A. N.
This place is beautiful and set in a lovely area. It has a lot of history and has been an integral place for famous meetings throughout time. Great setting both old a new buildings. Food is marvellous and the staff are very helpfull.
A. Q.
Fine spot away from the chaos but not too far out, great food and staff. Even kept the fire going so we could enjoy our pints of the black stuff.
H. B.
What a place. Booked hotel for our wedding super staff super friendly and very reasonable prices compared to other hotels for the wedding. And they have a separate beautiful wedding ceremony room across the road looking underneath the bridge at the river trees and grass. Anyone getting married check here first you will love it..
E. D.
Just back from a wonderful stay in woodenbridge
Superb stay, the staff, rvice, hygiene and quality of food was amazing
Every possible guideline is being followed and I'd say beyond that too
Well done Woodenridge
A. C.
PAY FOR VIEW.!!! Beautiful location with lovely scenery but prices are ridiculous. 7.50 for a glass of white wine????? I suppose they can charge what they want as only pub for a couple of miles. 2 of our company had desert, hot apple pie with ice cream came out tepid with whipped cream!!! and other had cheesecake. These were brought in and certainly not homemade. Few golfers in as golf club just across the way. Outdoor seating badly need replacing. On a sunny day nice to sit outside but would not go out of way to go back..
J. D.
Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge
What a joy to behold,
overlooking the slow running waters of the Aughrim river, and the emerald green carpet of the local Woodenbridge golf course, not a stones throw away,
In the heart of Wicklow.
Excellent service with a smile, and a friendly chat with Esther at reception.
A haven for the sportsman/golfer/fly-fisher-man or woman.
An oasis embracing "The Garden of Ireland" and her patch-work "40 shades of Green"
A favourite song, made famous, and written by the equally infamous Johnny Cash who loved Ireland so much he made her* his second home. * Ireland.
K. G.
We had an absolutely wonderful couple of days would like to thank Liz, Gillian and all the staff for being so helpful and welcoming definitely be back.
C. A.
Staff were great and very clean.
K. M. D.
Nice staff and a beautiful setting
R. R.
Wonderful setting, historic hotel, beginning on 1608, good access to Wicklow Co attractions.
Golfers may love it even more as there is an associated and incredibly scenic golf course.
H. C.
I have to say a big THANK YOU to Gillian and all the staff working in the bistro today the food was excellent, the staff were so friendly, they couldn't have being nicer to us 24 of us in total not a complaint among us thanks to the chefs and kitchen staff for a wonderful meal.We will definitely be calling back
S. B.
Spotless room, all Covid precautions taken. Staff friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast very good in Hotel. A very pleasant stay.
A. D.
Ordered chicken wings and they were nothing but fat and tasted gone off, completely ruined our meal, also a certain member of staff was very rude and stand offish, leaving us shocked and appalled. Only three starts because the rest of the staff were lovely and very friendly
Z. A.
We stayed in Woodenbridge on a whim, and came to the Woodenbridge Hotel for dinner. What a charming establishment! The oldest continuously operating hotel in Ireland didn't disappoint. There was a big fire in the hearth, and the food was excellent!
S. K.
A beautiful location and the food is top notch. The new layout in the restaurant makes the space more inviting. There is something for everyone on the menu and the desserts are to die for.
E. W. H.
Nice friendly Hotel. We stayed in the Lodge....lovely view of the river. We could stand on balcony and look. Great walk along the river. Watched a duke and drake with their ducklings. Saw a kingfisher.
We loved the food. Ate every evening in the restaurant. My husband eats meat so he has had the burger, seafood chowder as a main(which he said was gorgeous) and on last night chicken curry. Im a vegeterian and have to say the homemade falafiel last night was tasty and veg lasagne tonight beautiful. Blueberry cheese we both loved.
Really have enjoyed our stay and only want to deduct half a mark as only one hand towel in our room when we arrived on sun and even though receptionist tried her best to get us towels that night it didnt happen til after brexfast on the mon. So no showers til after 10am. Had to wash and dress sharing a hand towel so could go to brexfast at 8am. Brexfast selection very good.
J. G.
Just at a wedding there and it was fantastic
C. R.
Mangers and staff very helpful would recommend a visit will definitely stay there again
N. P.
Woodenbridge was an amazing place to get married. From the moment we met with Julie-ann she made a very stressed bride (me) and my husband feel very relaxed.
She was professional and friendly and was able to answer any questions we had.
Julie-ann and woodenbridge also accommodated probably more meetings than necessary by an ocd bride and her worse mother! :) We had some odd requests but if they werent able to accommodate them they gave us an alternative which in the end turned out to be far better, Julie-ann even made some suggestions which we would have never thought about, and turned out to be a highlight for many people!
The day before we were allowed into the room to set up how we liked and the staff set the tables around our very elaborate centrepieces and favours without disturbing anything. Staff were so atentitive on the day and couldn't do enough to help us. From providing dietry requirements that hadn't been told to even me, to accommodating young unexpected guests and fussy eaters. They never made any of my guests feel as if they were disturbing them or that we hadn't paid enough for something, they treated all of our guests as if they were the ones getting married! I honestly couldn't have asked for a better team and headed up by Julie-ann it will be the best venue you'll ever pick!
J. C.
Gorgeous location. Very different to most hotels. Great food and service. If you golf Woodenbridge gc is across the road.
Nearby is the meeting of the waters where Thomas Moore wrote his famous poem.
The location for the tv series Ballykissangel is there as well.
A. M.
Visited here on a very cold day. So opted for the braised beef and veg champ and gravy. It was so good, very tasty homemade like granny would ve made
s. r.
Loved everything. From amazing welcome from Majella. Lift to room 205. As in crutches. Spacious room. Shabby chique style. Lovely tones. Balcony looking over the vale and onto Wooden bridge Golf Club. Tea, coffee available to make in room. Bath/shower combination. TV. All you need for your stay. Had a meal will say food is excellent. Fresh special Hake cooked to perfection. Hand cut chips or fries as folks say.
Greeted with a big welcome by a very lovely lady at breakfast this morn. Super friendly. Wonderful.
Great Vista's from bar dining room also. Buffet breakfast, smoked salmon, fresh pancakes also available from the kitchen. Let's not forget the porridge.
Much to do about. Car would be necessary. Drive.to Arklow. Drive to Aughrim lots of history The Battle of Aughrim. The famous Brooklodge & Wells Spa near by too. Aughrim village families can go trout fishing. You have Avoca, The Meeting of The Waters. Roundwood, Wicklow its Gaol and Black Castle. So much to see. Learn the history of Wicklow Gold.
This Woodenbridge hotel has it all. You will not be disappointed. The team go above and beyond to ensure your stay is a memorable one. Irish Times & Independant available for your reading. Ideal for solo, duo, groups. Golfers, tourists. Well done. Thank you best Susan & Dermot. 16th -17th April 2019

Terrific quaint little hotel nestled within the hills around Avoca, Wicklow. Fabulous walks all around. Even more notable was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Definitely worth a visit.
M. C.
very nice and quiet place . really good for photography with loads of opportunities to capture really nice Kingfishers , pheasants, otters .
A. F.
This hotel claims to be the oldest in Ireland?! Certainly in the main building it appears quite antiquated but one of the most pleasant relaxing sits you will have is in a small alcove beside the reception, library type area, quiet and comfortable, an old style library with books fireplace pictures et cetera yet has a TV and power sockets for your iPad iPhone. We were located in the lodge which is across the road from the main hotel quite modern, all normal facilities a bit bland perhaps and a little sterile. all other facilities food bar et cetera are located in the main building. We had food in the restaurant on two nights and in the bar one night all excellent and good quality, but it is perhaps the staff that make this hotel such a pleasant experience all staff were nice but I would've liked to mention Chloe and Holly O'Brien in particular for their excellent polite efficient service. There is no phone reception on normal services here or at least on any of the ones we were on. Wi-Fi if it will stay connected is very good and fast. Some very nice short walks down by the river and visit to the world War one memorial is quite informative if you are a local Wicklow person.
C. V.
Room was a good standard hotel room in a lovely setting. Breakfast buffet was very good. Staff were helpful and friendly.
J. G.
Had a great stay .Staff was very friendly .Food was brillant. I will be back.

Our server was excellent, food was good . The place itself was a bit grubby. Lots of potential could do with some visual improvements.
U. C.
Lovely hotel to get away from hustle and bustle .
Set in beautiful woodland rural quiet area, easy drive to Avoca and Arklow .
Fantastic food served in their warm and comfortable pub.

C. Q.
This place is in a nice location and has a lovely old world feel.
However we had soup and sandwich times twi plus one coffee and one orange and it was nearby โฌ30. I think it was far too expensive for what it was.
N. F.
What a lovely place to visit.the golf course looked super.the hotel itself was top class.the staff where just amazing.i saw how fast the staff can arange tables to siit everbody without any fuss or panic a couple in weelchairs where looked after in a flash by the waitress .she was so professional. The place was spotless a lot more places in the food buisness should be made visit Woodenbridge Hotel so they can see how its done to perfection.O yes the food was the best but it had to be with the way the place was ran by the staff.yes will be back golf and good food and great staff what else would you want.never wrote so much about a place yet.Well done Woodenbridge Hotel.๐๐๐

A. W.
We just moved to woodenbridge and I like to have a local pint or two every so often but a shame as the bar is too expensive. Guninnes is โฌ5.10, captain morgan and coke is โฌ8 and a hope house 13 is โฌ5.60. It's not dublin guys its woodenbridge. I think I'll go down to road to feriers INN for my regular pint.
V. C.

R. M.
Really nice hotel I really enjoyed the wedding I was at the reception staff were really friendly but the only little bit ok an observation that I'd have is the staff in function room need to learn how to pull a Guinness properly and also the function room price is slightly more expensive then main bar prices doesn't really make sense consider I'd just use main bar instead
A. k.
Always a great place to stay lovely walks close by golf across the road Stayed again,no fear's staying staff cleaning to a high level what you expect in these times of covid
