The butcher grill has been our favourite restaurant for years and it rarely disappoints. Great welcoming staff, lovely wine list, great cocktails and amazing steak range. Covid certs checked too.

Service was amazing, staff are greatly friendly. and food was lovely. But the burger didn't worth the 20 euros... Next time I'll try a steak maybe it was my mistake getting burger rather than steak but still.....pricy burger... The starter was lovely and the place looks nice. Try the cauliflower with cheese, I loved it and the onions with the burger were nice, no need for chips, believe me.

A very cosy and romantic restaurant. We were seated by the window and the ambiance was nice. Since it's a small restaurant, I had to book weeks in advance but it was worth it. We had the tomahawk steak and it was cooked perfectly to medium rare as we requested. The steak was thick, juicy, and melted like butter in my tongue, just as what you'd expect for a tomahawk. Espresso martini was delicious too. We had a really great time!

My husband and I have ordered chateaubriand with all sides for our date night in. We went for the pre-cooked option and also treated ourselves to the deserts. The food was excellent! Probably the best take out dinner we have had so far.

What a great local Ranelagh steak institution. Visited this place twice and both times an absolute delight! Definitely check out the tasty starters like prawns or the beef tartar - we shared starters since the portions a quite big - I would suggest to make the portions a smaller since the main course is most likely going to be a hearty and delicious steak grilled to perfection. We had the châteaubriand (prime filet steak) which is also designed to be shared - stunning! The very friendly staff made this evening a fantastic night out in Ranelagh! Consider a nice bottle of wine - the Sancerre (french white wine from Loire region) for the starters and the Amarone (italian wine from the veneto area) for the steak!

Exceptional starters. Beef tartar and bbq gambas both excellent. Not as impressed by the mains. I'm sure the pageantry of sharing a tomahawk steak would have made for a more memorable meal. But two separate steaks with sides were fine but nothing to make them stand out. No sauces on menu, just given a bernaise dip to share between two. Would have been 4 stars if those steaks had been a little cheaper, but for €40 euro each they need to be great.

Fantastic place for true lovers of the red meat! They keep the menu (cuts from Ireland, the USA and Uruguay) simple and the meat is seared to perfection. Startes and deserts are not needed given the amazing main course, but definitely worth it if you've got some room. The atmosphere is intimate, rustic and elegant. The service was excellent.

5/5. Could not rate it any higher. Went here recently and ordered the T Bone. It was cooked to perfection and was plenty to share between 2. The choice of sides is excellent and I recommend you try as many as possible! They were also very knowledgeable with their wines and were able to recommend one based on our preferences. This place was amazing. Went there with an Aussie, a yank and a chap from Venezuela (there's a joke in there somewhere). It was outstanding. The starters were top class. The steaks were just unbelievably good. Melt in your mouth, serious quality. Possibly the best steak I and my international colleagues have ever tasted. It was that good. Even the sides are incredible. Staff were great. There is a lady mixing drinks. Kitchen is open so you can watch the magic happen. Go. You will not be disappointed. Fabulous.

The cocktails are amazing with the best Margartia this side of the pond. The staff are always so good and very friendly (much like Dillingers). The food here is delicious. The tuna tostadas were so light and amazing to start the meal. The ribeye from Uruguay was cooked to perfection and the taste was mouth watering. The fries and onion rings were the perfect compliments to the steaks, along with the spinach and onions. The chocolate mousse for dessert was decadent, it was the perfect way to end the meal. I'd definitely recommend this if you're in the area and looking for a delicious meal to start off or even end the evening.

Overall, most of us didn't have any issues with the food and it was quite good. My steak was actually a bit too burnt on the crusts which was disappointing (it had a burnt taste throughout), but we didn't want to send anything back and have others wait while they work on a new steak.

Food is fantastic and generally the service is great except for one occasion when i asked for a steak medium-rare...I then added 'more rare than medium'. The waitress proceeded to lecture me on the chefs classical French cooking in which 'more rare than medium' made no sense so if I didn't know what I wanted I should order something else! Meat and food was delicious. However on the expensive side of life. Service was very good I must say as well as friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks. What I didn't like was the seating. We sat next to one another at the bar looking into the kitchen and the chefs grilling the meats which was fine but on bar stools. Most of the tables are on bar stools with the exception of sitting on a bank. For that reason I would not return, it was just too uncomfortable.

It's a bit small so sometimes you end up sitting at the bar but that always adds to the experience of getting to see the waiters prepare amazing looking drinks. The food is exquisite if you enjoy meat but it is a bit on three extensive side. It is worth it if you enjoy good food.

Ok so as a first restaurant meal post Covid shutdown I might well have thought sand was mouth watering. Had I eaten here before the apocalypse quarantine might have been more bearable as the memory of my last public meal might have sustained me emotionally. First up I had a delicious white linen cocktail. After this I tried steak tartare for the first time ever which I was sketch about because seriously in most restaurants that looks like a plate of sad to me. Instead of receiving a ring fortress of mush you’ll get an ovoid of succulent joy. Seriously tasty stuff. I finished with a striploin was out of this world good. I’m normally not a fan of mad charr on steaks, but this was a really amplifying balance to one of the juiciest stakes I’ve ever had. Sides of cauliflower and fries were also utterly delightful. All of this was swilled with a full bodied Tempranillo. Staff were friendly and engaging without being in your face. Highly recommend. No photos I was too busy eating. No desert as I was full from mains.

Steaks here are delicious, but you already knew that. Starters are quite good as well but a little too "gourmet" - read "small" - for my expectations, in particular because the waiter suggested we shared one while we waited for the main course. 4 scallops (delicious, don't get me wrong), albeit technically constituting a portion, are not what I consider a sharing option. The place is rather small and the chairs are start you'd expect to find when sitting at the bar, not at a restaurant. But those were the only negative things I could find about this place. If you like food you should book a table here.

Without a doubt one of the very best steakhouses in Dublin! Friendly service and a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. It is a very popular restaurant, so make sure to book in advance - especially if you are going more than four people. And try the ribeye from Uruguay - it is brilliant!

Very nice place with delicious food. On weekends they serve daily roast which is a good value for money and there is a good selection of stakes. It's a small place but cosy with very nice staff. There are no child seats though nor a baby changing unit.

There's an ever changing list of speciality beef – and best of all the staff, who are trained within an inch of their lives, can explain the differences with authority and passion. For a 'local' restaurant, it's not cheap but for what it offers, it's very good value.

Excellent steak house .... although there was a fish dish on the menu. Small, intimate, full visibility to the steaks bring cooked. There are some very fancy steaks available but some of them are mega pricey. I had a modest filet mignon medium rare and it was outstanding. Cauliflower cheese on the side was delicious. I recommend a smoked whiskey cocktail too - it's special ;-)

Unlike in some other places, here "Medium Rare" actually means "Medium Rare", and not "half-cremated"; The meat is not smothered in unnecessary seasoning, and the sides and starters are good and well balanced to not stuff you on carbs, and to allow for room for the main event; The wine selection is great, and the staff is knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. The music could be a bit less "dance-lounge-y" and a bit more ambient, but that's just my personal preference, nothing more.
