J. S.Food was fantastic but was not impressed by the way we had a table booking for 20:00 but did not get served our food until 20:43. This was because the waiter sat us to our tables and then basically ignored us until I asked him to serve us. By this point we were left watching people who had queued up at the door come in sit down, order and start eating before we had received our food. Very poor service.
Loved the vibe of the place. Did not feel like your traditional restaurant and does not taste like other similar chicken style restaurants. The lack of free sauce (ketchup) on the table is disappointing. They did bring this free of charge though as you would expect.
It's worth noting that the Mad Egg beer is not on their menu so unless they either update that or you have local knowledge you would not know it exists which is kinda cool and disappointing for tourists. Really nice beer. Similar to Punk IPA.
I actually changed the review rating from 2 stars to 3 as I was so impressed by the general atmosphere of the place that it deserves another star. Shame about the wait. Waiters were really friendly and were no doubt busy at the start.

V. H. N.Was considering subtracting a star because the last time I picked up an order, they forgot to include the honey butter to my Honey Baby burger. But after having had various chicken burgers over the years, I have still yet to find a one that surpasses Mad Egg's in term of flavour and crispiness, and add that up with very fair prices it feels wrong to give them anything but 5*. Some of their combinations are very inventive (I never thought that cinnamon, honey and butter would work on a burger), and I'd love to see them come up with more. Have ordered both at the restaurant and Deliveroo, and the chicken has been perfect every time. I'll just have to double check that all sauces are included next time :)
T. S.I was recently at Mad Egg - Charlotte Way branch and was assisted by Adam and Andreas which I believe were managers on duty and had an amazing time with my friends. They were beyond helpful and friendly which made me so welcomed on a grey rainy Sunday. Definitely coming back again, as the food were superb and the staff awesome. By the way all the other waiter/waitress were just fantastic as I haven’t seen in Dublin City for a long time. Thanks guys!
L.I've never eaten in the restaurant itself but we regularly order pickup. I normally get the "Hot Chick" burger and either Chicken Salt or Sweet Potato fries. The burgers are consistently very good. The fries haven't been travelling as well recently, maybe caused by longer in traffic...not sure, and are a bit soft by the time of eating. They still taste really good though.
S. P.Absolutely adored this place. The food though awesome, what I loved about this restaurant is the friendly staff. They are so cheerful and makes happy conversation with you even when it’s almost 10 pm and the place is bustling. And it’s not just some meaningless conversations. It’s more like the places that both parties have visited or the most interesting thing that you have seen and so on. We might entered this restaurant tired and hungry but left it happy, energetic and full.

Four stars because the drink prices were just a bit too much (€5+ for a 350ml beer), and the house "lager" turned out to be in fact a pale ale, which disappointed my partner.
C. S.This place exceeded our expectations on many levels. From the moment we stepped in we were greeted by friendly wait staff. The chicken was hot, crispy and tender, without the greasiness. We got a burger and a serving of tenders and agreed that the tenders was yummier as the chicken and batter taste stood out more. Can’t wait to come back and try out more flavors and then cheesecake!

The staff are always super nice, and accommodating especially when it’s busy.
The chicken burgers are probably the best I’ve had anywhere in the world, they really are next level. Together with the dripping cheese, it’s just heart attack heaven, so good.
Dessert is very clever, if I have room, I always go for white chocolate, caramel and crushed maltesers.

J. J.We wanted to try something new and this place was packed! We didnt need to wait long, and we hot a table. The atmosphere was good, interior is also very nice. But when we got our food its where it all dropped to 3stars. If not nice interior and friendly staff, I we would give just 2stars! Chicken was dripping oil from frying, soft bun, chips was veeeery salty, we couldnt eat it. I order burger with cheese and pickles and there was just one slice of pickle! And I love pickles. I think my friend had 2pickle slices in his other type burger. Tho I will repeat myself that staff was very friendly
I. T.Best chicken burger I've ever had. Chicken was huge, juicy and crispy. The bacon was so full of flavor and nothing was greasy in the slightest. Fries were crunchy and big and the dessert was something else. Their Malteser cheesecake was the best cheesecake I've also ever had. The way they give you all the sauces and ingredients in little cups for yourself to pour on was really nice as well.

Tormented my mouth with the Wild Thing, served with (Frank's?) hot sauce and a few bottles of the house lager, Egg Juice from the Hope Brewery in Dublin - perfect for calming the tasty burn of the burger! Cant wait to go back to see what else is on offer!

Returned today for the 5th time and it was unbelievable. Even better than the first time I had it. Honey Baby burger was perfect. Really juicy and full of flavor. The fries where amazing. Delighted I went back

G. P.Finally a chicken burger sandwich in Dublin that compares well to chik fil a! Ordered the original chicken sandwich and mac & cheese for side. The chicken was perfect - the batter was crispy and the chicken is moist and juicy in the inside, lemon and herb mayo was perfect with the chicken. Only thing to improve is the amish roll bread - it started crumbling apart on my first bite, would have preferred if it was a brioche bun or something that won't break down.
Moreover, I'm not big into spicy food, it would be nice to have more chicken tender options that are not spicy. Also, it would be good to have an indication of how spicy the chicken is in the menu. The waiter was really nice and did specify which isn't spicy.
Finally, I had the build your own cheesecake and it was to die for! So simple yet so delicious.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and it satisfied my craving for good chicken sandwich, will definitely come back again!

The Mac & Cheese is bland (though we ordered without the candied bacon) and the beer is bottled. The restaurant can get hot and loud, but they play the best 90's rap & hip hop.

G. D.We got a delivery. Pros: the chicken breast was huge and perfectly cooked. Sweet potato fries were gorgeous. DIY brownie dessert, which I nuked for a minute and then poured the separate toppings over it was yummy. Cons: burger buns were soggy with grease and inedible and the crispy chicken coating was no longer crispy. In all fairness the time taken to deliver contributed and it would be perfect if eaten on the premises. Maybe a DIY burger would help.

The vegetarian substitute is hands down, the best burger I have ever had. The cauliflower patty is extremely crunchy, soft and tasty. I always end up getting the OG (and instead get the cauliflower patty).
Always need a reason to indulge in my cheat meal here.

K. V.We got a table within seconds and the staff were super friendly and always making sure that we were okay. The chicken is free-range, that's definitively a bonus! Very tasty, hot and great portions. The prices are also good in terms of quality. The place itself is very comfortable and cool. The only 'but' is that I felt like I've been forced to leave a tip of 10% or even more (I paid by card) I don't mind tipping and they deserve it, for sure! However, I think you might consider changing the way you ask for a tip to your customers (at least I'm aware now, because I'll definitely come back)

The spicy options are extremely hot and wouldn't be to everyone's liking but there's plenty of other burger and tender options. The staff are very friendly and efficient. They keep the queue moving along quickly without making you feel rushed. There's also a bar while you wait for a table.
T. M.Really enjoyed the food and the beers at the Mad Egg. The selection of chicken burgers is amazing. Had the buffalo chicken burger and it didn't disappoint one bit. Just the right amount of spicy.
If you're able for it, the deserts are top drawer too.
My only gripe was it's a bit pricey but the quality is good enough for me to return. Decor is pretty cool too.

Regarding the selection to beer I also thought the same as a previous reviewer. I would like to see Heineken here.
I also always make the effort to give 5 stars when I see the owner responding to reviews because it means the owner cares about their business.
I have 1 1/2 negative points. The half was 6 months ago when I was there the music was so loud that I could properly. However that seemed to be addressed this time. But the main negative was for the fries. They are just OK. I'd say about 50% the quality of the burger.
Summary if your in Camden area looking for casual and quality food. Bunsen has the edge due to the fries.
M.I feel like a lot of effort was put into creating the menu. The chicken is moist and the batter is well-seasoned. The buns are soft without being soggy. Their hot sauce is homemade but not lacking in flavor. Even the pickles they selected are nice. The only thing I dislike is that there isn't much in the interior to dampen the acoustics and they play loud music, so this isn't where you would go to chat.

L. G.I had the "love me raunchy" chicken tenders and chips which were delicious! You have to try the cheesecake too, with choice of toppings, which is amazing and fun to decorate. It's a New York style baked cheesecake. We went on a Thursday night, although it was very busy, we weren't waiting long for a table. The service is good with friendly staff and there's also a bar where you can have a drink while you wait.
W. N.What a great place to eat. Yes it may only be chicken on the menu but they do it so well. The meat is beautifully seasoned and the batter is simply delicious. We had a group of seven and everything was good from the burgers to the tenders with sides of corn on the cob and Mac and cheese were scrumptious. The cheese cake deserts are fun to order and personalize. Combined with friendly staff and on the ball service. It's a busy open plan diner with a super atmosphere and great music to put you in the mood for a night out.

A. K.Best chicken in Dublin! The chicken is brined so it is unbelievably moist! The buns are so fresh. Everything truly feels like the kitchen has prepared the best quality possible. The tenders aren't quiet as nice as the burgers but I think that's just because I love a good a burger. Staff are wonderful even during peak times with a great attitude throughout, and the building appears to be wheelchair accessible.

There’s a few options for what sort of flavour you want, but we all ended up getting the buffalo and ranch, which I would definitely recommend if you’re a fan of the likes of franks hot sauce. The fries and mac n cheese were also really good, and there’s a few options for beers and wine. The diy cheesecake is also a great idea. Would definitely go back!
B. P.The actual food was fine, but perfunctory service, ie. They managed to get the right food too our table, we had to ask for menus and when we wanted to order. Gave up trying to pay so went up to the counter, but the door was very tempting as really nobody was paying attention at all. The seats in the window were freezing, with a gale blowing in the door.

N. D.Went here for first time last Saturday and all I can say is if you love all things chicken then look no more. Mad Egg chicken burgers are 5 star. I went with my brothers who have been telling me about the burgers and DIY cheesecake for weeks. We arrived and didn't have to wait long for a table. Service was very friendly and welcoming which was great as was busy at all times. We each ordered our burgers, I have the honey baby and my brothers had the heartbreaker. The chicken is to perfection We shared a mix of mac&cheese and chicken salt fries. All elements of our dinner where amazing and for that alone we would go back in a heartbeat. DIY cheesecake is a brilliant idea as you get to pick you toppings to put on a cheesecake and be lying if I said no phones and boomerangs didn't take place. The table next to us where waiting on their mains and even said they were all going to get dessert after seeing ours😂😂😂 overall great food, great service and great atmosphere. I will definitely be back and have recommended to my friends to go as well. Keep it up Mad Egg and don't change a thing 🙌😍💛🥚

D. C.Never liked chicken burgers, but then I found this place. Best chicken burgers, if you like sauce that Domino's uses for Frank's hot wings - chicken burger called Wild Thing from Mad Egg will be a must. If you are still not convinced - they have cheesecake too. With Nutella.

No where like it in Dublin at the moment and will be heading back not only for the burgers and prosecco but the staff too - who honestly couldn’t do any more for us! Great experience.

Had the OG yesterday with mac and cheese on the side. Chicken was delicious - crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle with the right seasoning. The lemon and herb sauce was a perfect combination to the chicken. The bun wasn't that great and and was crumbling apart. It could have been improved with a soft brioche bun just as it is in Chick fil-A.
Mac and cheese was good but would have liked it to be a bit cheesier and creamier and felt it was missing something.
Build your own cheesecake was a great idea. Really enjoyed that. Was simple but really delicious. The sweet toppings were perfect for the creamy and thick cheesecake base.
Would have wanted to order chicken tenders on the side but unfortunately there weren't any non-spicy options and personally I'm not a big fan of spicy food. Would like to have that option in the future.
Overall a pleasant experience and would definitely come again!

M.This place ticks all the usual hipster casual dining boxes: quirky name, breeze block internal walls, corrugated metal, bare filament lights, distressed wooden benches, concrete floor, white tiles with black grout, music just loud enough to make conversation difficult, ironic tableware, limited menu based around a single ingredient prepared in an authentic/artisanal way. Yawn, yawn and double yawn. I'm getting on a bit but even I can see that this kind of place is way past its sell by date - enough already!
The chicken itself was fine - apparently tea brined for 48hrs, buttermilk etc, etc. Unfortunately once it was slapped between the Amish buns and drowned in buffalo and ranch sauce most of the crispy batter had turned to mush and there was no discernable taste of chicken. Luckily my son had ordered chicken tenders without sauce which were pretty good - nice crispy batter and tender juicy meat. Fries were OK but a bit too salty.
So in conclusion the chicken was good but better to order it with sauces on the side. Service was friendly but prices a little high.
Just a shame to see the lack of imagination wrt the interior/concept. Having said that I can see the attraction of the hipster/industrial vibe - fit out is dirt cheap and the limited menu cuts down on complexity.
