Sometimes in life, you deserve to treat yourself to an upscale dining experience and the next time you find yourself in Dublin I would highly recommend you do that at the Tomahawk. I ordered the 30 ounce Tomahawk steak, it was simply the best cut of meat that I have ever eaten. The sides were excellent, everything was cooked perfectly and I ordered the beef croquettes to share with the table - incredible. Unreal, would absolutely visit again - worth every penny!

I can't emphasize enough what a wonderful place this is. The staff are phenomenal, the food is wonderful and the drinks are delicious (as are the desserts!). The atmosphere is fairly romantic, but it is good for groups as well - I would not recommend it for children at all! The main food is steak, there are a number of options and we ordered the sharing tomahawk steak which was amazing! It comes topped with skinny onion rings which are full of flavour! There are no other side's or sauces included so they need to be ordered separately. The staff have the perfect balance of attentive enough without being around too much and have a lot of knowledge of the food that is being served. If in doubt, ask them! This is not my first visit and I will be returning. Tomahawk is my favourite steak restaurant in Dublin and I would highly recommend it.

The best steak in Dublin! The most flavourful, and tender steak I’ve had. I’m normally an FX Buckley fan, but this blows the socks off everyone. The experience was relaxing and comfortable; and with the kitchen being open to the restaurant to hear and smell as you walk in is wonderful. The steak is cooked to perfection and exactly how you could ever dream it to be. The flavouring and marbling throughout the cut is perfect. They handled the social distancing well, the staff were polite and efficient. Will definitely return on my next visit to Dublin.

Really high quality! The food was really good and the waiter super friendly. Great recommendations on the food and wine that matches well. We booked a table via OpenTable the day before and it was no issue at all that we arrived 30 minutes early. While not cheap it was definitely worth it. All cuts of beef are pretty big, so you won't leave hungry.

Nice steak to be fair but why should garlic butter be €3 !! Tiny piece of fois gras €12 🤯. Steak restaurants are simple so no excuse for Ill informed staff. Lesser wine from an inferior vintage the same price as non available listed wine. Competition is only going to get tougher. Best of luck with wow burger it’s more your speed.

Been here a few times. Cozy place hidden in the middle of Dublin's Temple Bar. Felt at home immediately as you step in as our coats were taken and put into the coat room. Nice complimentary mini loaf of bread with salted butter. Appetisers and specials change every now and then. The steak is pretty big - big enough for 2 or for 1 hungry individual. It's aged, juicy and well seared to perfection. Comes pre cut with crispy onions to match on top. The waiters are also really nice and bring a tray of meat to explain every cut of meat they have.

Expensive, but certainly the best team I have ever had. Get the tomahawk. It is huge, perfectly done, and amazing with the fried onions on it. No need for any sauces or condiments. Also, try the mash potatoes with cheese and bacon. So fresh and delicious!!!!!

12oz filet mignon steak was cooked perfectly service was very good. Would return again and recomend, menu had good choices. A bit hot if you sit near the wooden grill at the bar but you get to watch your dinner prepared by chefs. The price was right for the quality.

Fantastic food and friendly service. The meat cuts are huge and very reasonably priced for their quality. The meat is all Irish born and raised and you can really taste the difference above and beyond the meat you can get in the likes of America. The sides and other dishes are all fantastic too. The calamari is perfectly cooked, the tuna ceviche is perfectly balanced and the greens are all tasty and nicely al dente. My only small complaint is that I ordered patatas bravas but they came without any sauce on them, so they were essentially just dry diced potatoes. Other than that, though, this is a fantastic place and I'll definitely be coming again.

Very classy open design. The high flames from the rack kept our son enthralled. Staff are very attentive and pleasant. On the night, we ordered the signature steak dish and it was beautifully presented with huge side portions. However, we felt let down by, what we felt was, excessive grissle and over seasoned with salt. It would be unfair to compare to other other iconic steak houses. Premium service but poor steak. Maybe it was just our experience on the night and our cut was not checked by the chef considering the price of the dish.

It's kind of in between "fine dining" and "casual dining", with the food tending towards the former and the place itself tending towards the latter. Other: cool decor. 7/10 Recommend.

I would have given 4 but for 2 reasons, I am giving it 3. a) we received pints of guinness which were nearly room temp. Only after I called the staff to take them back did they realize the cold room was not working or something. It is something a good bar tender would have noticed when handling a glass and pouring a beer from a tap. No real apology for that either simply just asked what did we want instead which felt impersonal. b) Plate was not very warm so the food went cold a bit sooner than I would have been understanding of. the steaks themselves were good. We had the sharing rib eye, the others had fillets. The sides were nice too so kudos to the chefs. I was actually in FX buckley the week before going here for my birthday so in comparison to another premium steak restaurant, it has some nice touches but fails with the smaller/finer touches to the guest experience. Sorry I work in the foodservice sector :P

My parents, grandparents, girlfriend, and I were walking around for a place to have dinner. We pretty much stumbled into Tomahawk on a whim that we didn’t want to walk much further. We are all so happy we did. The staff were super friendly and fit us in right away between reservations. They were quick to give us our drinks (beer and wine selections are wonderful), and the staff even bring a tray of the beef that they age themselves upstairs (you can see it through the windows) so you can see for yourself the different cuts and how the taste and textures are different. They then tell you how everything is grilled on a wood and charcoal grill. My family ordered the steaks while my girlfriend and I got the duck. Absolutely fantastic. All of it. The dessert was incredible too. I was so impressed with the entire experience. It was easily the best meal I’ve had in recent memory. If I’m ever back in Dublin, I will be sure to come back to the Tomahawk.

Was in town on business and three of us walked in with no reservation but managed to get a table. The overall experience was great, good selection of drinks and loved the waiter showing the cuts of meat and explaining them beforehand. Seeing the chefs at work is also great for the overall atmosphere and thought the ambience was superb. The steak I had with a beef jus was quite frankly one of the best things I have ever eaten. Pure indulgence and perfection on a plate!

I read on a review that this place was very nice but the food was tasteless however we decided to give it a go. Well here goes. The place itself is very nice. The staff were lovely. A goog feel to it and the decor lovely. The starters were nice and then it came to the mains. I had a 14oz Rib eye and my wife had the burger. The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking and it was the most tender piece of steak I had in a good while BUT I have never tasted a more TASTELESS piece of meat in my entire life. GUYS change your supplier because if you want people to pay this amount for food you need to put something that tastes like steak on the plate. And as for the burger my wife left over half of it. NO FLAVOUR. I give it three stars for the decor and staff. Sorry guys but need to improve.

Delicious steaks of many different cuts can be found here. The steak sauces are very very good and their sides were tasty too. Ok drink selection and good, fast and friendly staff. So why the 3 stars? Because this place is VERY VERY expensive for a steakhouse. Yes the food is good, but they charge a lot for the food and they also charge for everything! Sides are NOT included with your steak. Even the sauces are a few euro extra. They push their price into the realm of finer and more established restaurants that you would be better off going to. Yes the steaks here are sublime, but for the same money you can get better elsewhere. They charge way too much for what they offer, and the ambiance that their establishment presents. I would like to go back, but I won't go back due to the very high prices. There are better restaurants for the same money. It's a shame, as the food is still very good here.

First time in Dublin, we passed this restaurant on our first night and from looking up to the beef hanging in the window aging to looking down to the steaks searing on the grill through the window we made up our minds to try this. Booking on line through open table couldn't have been easier and we arrived at our booked time and were seated straight away. The waiters were very friendly and helpful and we were shown all the cuts of beef/steak and a good description of all were given. We decided on the Tomahawk to share and chose medium rare. Well, I can't say more then that really, the service was attentive, the steak and the accompaniments (fries, house salad and patatas bravas) were absolutely delicious, The steak was tender, cooked perfectly and you could taste it had been aged to perfection. The lovely fried onions accompanying the steak were also delicious...but a few too many for us as even though we hadn't intended to we decided on afters! I had the cheese option and it was just delicious, a lovely variety of cheeses with enough crackers and some lovely walnuts and grapes And my daughter had the sundae, which she declared delicious. Couldn't fault the service or the food. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Dublin.

Great service, and excellent starters, but let's face it, when you're a steak house charging these prices for steak ... They shouldn't come overdone. Medium rare delivered cooked medium to well done, colleagues ordered rare .. delivered medium. Pretty basic requirement for a steak house is being able to cook steak as ordered. They did offer to replace them when we pointed it out, but waiting for a further 20-30 minutes for that really wasn't ideal so we declined the offer and ate the steak. The meat they use is excellent quality and their service great too .. but not actually being able to cook a steak correctly is unforgivable when you're positioning yourself as a high end steak house.

A really nice restaraunt with a good atmosphere, good service and good cuts of meats - but the price is a honestly disapointing. I think not including a Sauce OR Chips/Mash to go with the steaks is very stingy. I had to pay €40 for a DRY steak, with no sauce or chips to go with it - an Extra €10 euro to add this on. The quality of the steak is one of the best i've had, but the Pepper sauce was quite bland. All very good, but not for the price I paid.

Tasteful decor with friendly and helpful staff. The steaks on offer are second to none. Possibly the nicest fillet I've ever had, and the onion stacks is a must to compliment your steak! My only disappointment was our table position. It was down towards the end of the restaurant, right on top of where the staff take out cutlery for their customers . It was noisy when being filled and while staff removed them which was very, very regular. Not the staffs fault of course, just very poorly positioned. Would I go back again.. Yes I would but I'd ensure I never receive that table again

What I really liked was when they brought a tray of the cuts of steak that they offer. That really helped with me choosing what I wanted. I plan to come back whenever im in dublin again.

Ended up here last night as it was the only place we could find a table without booking.We didn't want starters, so I ordered a steak, and my wife ordered chicken. It arrived about 50 minutes later, with no explanation and little apology for the ridiculous delay. It was nice enough when we finally got to eat it, though no better (and more expensive) than the F.X. Buckley steakhouse round the corner. Against our better judgement we stuck around for dessert. To be fair the selection was right up my street and I'd happily have ordered four of the six on offer. Even those took a good 15 minutes to arrive, though. We didn't stay for coffee.

My partner ordered a steak tartare which was presented beautiful and and nothing like I have seen before! And I wanted to have the tuna ceviche but unfortunately they had sold out of it!(great reason to come back!!) We both ordered steaks I had sirloin which cut like butter! Perfectly cooked!! Unfortunately I had a cut near the end of the striploin which meant it was the tougher end and was difficult to chew through the fat! But apart from that it was one of the best steaks I have ever had! Definitely recommend if your in dublin and looking for some high quality steak!

Love that you are “sitting in the kitchen” - you see the flames from the grill and the chefs in action. The staff is super kind and engaged in both the food and in the wine and we were very happy with everything. The food/produce is great quality and full of flavor, so we were devouring everything on the table! They made it a very special birthday experience for us, and it was such a lovely surprise.
