Passing through Limerick and remembered this place from the blindboy podcast. Apparently the recipe has some connection to the original Colonel recipe. My experience: The gravy with the super chip is definitely way better than KFC. The chicken was better too. No question. The crows must be addicted to the superchip from nights out. Never have I ever got so close to a crow. The proof of taste is in the crows of limerick city.

Thank you to the taxi driver who showed me to Chicken hut at 2am Thursday morning after my son was discharged from A&E, I have never seen my son eat so much chicken so fast, the chips were beautiful & I have heard that the gravy is a must although we didn't try it, security on the door made us feel safe. We will definitely be eating here again & will recommend to any one else wanting to eat in Limerick City 5stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Visited Chicken Hut with my partner's family while visiting other family in Limerick. For weeks, months and years I had heard them talk of Chicken Hut and the fabled gravy that they serve. I won't deny that the food was delicious, but I will admit that I was still slightly underwhelmed by it. The gravy was a very thick, almost chunky texture but without the expected burst of flavour to balance that. That is not to say that Chicken Hut isn't completely worth a visit, it just isn't somewhere I would immediately jump at the chance to go to

A favourite to the people of limerick and to me. The food here is quite addictive and very competitive with the price. If you hit the town for a night out with your friends or family and venture up here at the right time you'll see the queue flooding out the door and the staff working hard as always to accommodate everyone. The one thing I'm not too fond of here is the portions could be a bit bigger other than that it's all aces.

you CANNOT visit limerick or call yourself a limerick without going to chicken hut. not only is it a staple but it never disappoints. i would 100% fly home from the netherlands just for a super chip and fillet burger (maybe some cheeky tenders too) the gravy is a godsend and i would very happily consume it through IV yurt.

The super chips, OMG, most delicious gravy on the planet. The chicken is tasty too. Often lots of interesting characters in here and you'd want to be a bit pissed but its a great spot for the end of a night out. No where else I'd go after a good couple of pints for food.

Chicken really needed to be cooked a bit longer. The coating wasn't crispy, and the chicken wasn't piping hot. Chips were nice though, and so was the service. FYI - They only accept cash. Little inconvenient; a sign on the door/window would be very helpful.

Drove up from cork after hearing blindboy’s podcast. I wasn’t disappointed!!! Fillet burger was nice, chips and gravy was savage (and I’m not a fan of chips & gravy!!!) and the fork wasn’t in the bag you gowl…. One thing blindboy got wrong was the comparison to hillbillies in cork. Hillbillies breast in a bun is far superior, but still I wasn’t disappointed at all and was worth the trip.
