My second time at this store! Huge store that's well stocked and very clean. The best thing about this B&Q is the staff. Always someone on hand to answer questions and always with a smile. The lady on the checkout (I don't remember her name) was wonderful and organised Ronan to assist me with my load of tiles. She also cared for my puppy while I brought my car nearer the store. I had to order in a shower tray and John dealt with me very efficiently. I was able to purchase all I needed at a competitive price. Went today to exchange flooring and the staff couldn't have been any more professional or helpful. I arrive in 4 minutes before store close and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. 10/10 for the Friday evening staff!

I went in with a gift card. I was unsure as to the value on it. The lady at the till told me she was unable to tell me how much was on it. So in B&Q they can’t tell you how much is on a B&Q gift card. Either it will go through if you have enough on the card or not. Doesn’t seem like a great system. The balance is on the receipt afterwards alright but to not be able to tell how much is on it seems like a bad system.

Prices were good for a lot of items, unlike Woodies which can run more expensive on the little things like screws and such. Update: just been back to B&Q for another visit, this time purchasing insulation which was far cheaper than other locations I visited, highly recommended.

I had a brilliant experience in the B&Q store in Athlone with the kitchen specialist Gary Kenny. He was so helpful and knowledgeable which really made the whole process very straight forward. The technology they use is brilliant and the pictures they can provide of the design are very realistic. Couldn't recommend Gary enough for anyone planning a kitchen makeover!

Social distance was very visible, people had to queue, but everyone that was in the shop, was there to get and go, so there was no crowded store. Great bargains on certain objects. Popped in for a ramble really and left with a couple of sun loungers and a drill bit set!! Plenty to chose from with lots of space and hand sanitisers. Garden section was big with lots of choice and looked stunning in the bright Saturday sunshine!! No wait going in but there was a line when we came out, it was moving fast so looked like no major delay. Not a lot around the area - could do with a few other stores and make it a more vibrant retail park.

This is a great big store for all your DIY needs. Though a little more expensive than your local hardware store it does have a huge variety of stock.

Very well laid out with a good range of garden and DIY tools and materials if you want to be in and away in minutes. For longer shopping trips and for home and garden ideas, there's a well stocked garden centre at one end and complete bathrooms and kitchens at the other, with everything DIY that you need in between.

Just a thank you to the staff in Athlone b&q Last Sunday myself my wife Jo and our son Daniel who is Autistic went to your Athlone store we joined the queue same as everybody The queue was moving great but Daniel got a bit agitated the staff on the door a lady and gentleman seen this and we could see them looking at us The next thing the gentleman came toward us and said to Daniel please come with me and lead us to the head of the queue he told Daniel he was a special visitor so he could go ahead [no one in the queue minded this] and all the staff inside were great to Daniel That made our day So just a big thank’s to all at b&q

The place has everything, and it is easy to get around. Plenty of signs to where you want to go in the store and if you get lost or can't find what your looking for, the team is more than helpful. Right beside the motorway too, so it's really easy to travel to.
