I spent 2 days here under the care of Prof Flavin, his medical team and the St Paul's ward staff and they could not have made my stay any better. I was treated extremely well. The caterers and the porter staff were the cherry on top of a comfortable stay. I highly recommend Cappagh hospital. Violet Murray

Cannot stress enough how good my experience was in Cappagh hospital, I had bunion surgery on both feet and was very anxious on my way in, all the nurses and doctors made me feel so comfortable including the surgeon dr walsh who took the time to make sure I was ok just before I went in. For anyone who is anxious about going for surgery in this hospital I would say you have nothing to worry about as you are in great hands. The overnight stay was so comfortable and the nurses never leave your side through the night. They are amazing at their job.

I was quite terrified when I went into Cappagh for a procedure, as I'd never had surgery before, but it couldn't have gone better. Everybody was lovely and professional, from the lady at the entrance doing the Covid-checks and the admin/support staff, to the surgeon, anaesthesiologists, nurses, interns, etc. You'll be in very good hands if you're having a procedure done here.

Unbelievably attention paid to patients by all members of staff....
The only thing that claims me down on hearing I'm in need of surgery, is knowing that it's happening in Cappagh Hospital.
I'm very grateful and thankful to you all for making my time there a pleasant experience..

The best hostital I have been. Might does not look good outside but inside is a heart (lovely staff, each of them treat you like a Quinn, always smile always help with gold sense of humor to keep you relax before surgery. Food served there is not only toast and jam but ice cream, biscuits. Best service i have got in my life.

i just cannot say enough about my experience in Cappagh -got my hip replaced and the staff from the very start to the very end and that included administrative, nursing , catering and household staff all were caring, kind, friendly and overall wonderful during my stay. A very special word for Shiny the nurse I had the most -she was ultra super and the kindest soul. Susan Fletcher-Jones

Last Monday the 20th of January , my Mother who is in her eightieth year had a hip replacement in Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital. I (her daughter) accompanied her during the admission process and also her pre op assessment process last October. As a psychiatric nurse myself and a Mother of two (now almost grown up sons) I have both personal and professional experience of many different hospitals both here in Ireland and in the United Kingdom where I trained. Cappagh hospital is one of if not the most exceptional hospital I have ever experienced. From the ladies who offered teas and sandwiches all the way to the Consultant Mr Conor Hurson , to the staff that were working at reception and those in the car park. Everybody was so helpful, genuinely compassionate and kind and went out of their way to assist us.
The morning of Mums admission I was beyond speechless (anyone who knows me knows this is not a regular event) at how efficient, quick and stress free the whole process was. The lady on reception at admissions at 0630 in the morning was delightful, kind and explained everything so well. We were on the admission ward before seven and Mum was seen by a surgeon, a lovely anaesthetist called Mustafa , a lady doctor , a nurse and care assistant who made everything run so smoothly and the phlebotomist was in and out in minutes. This all happened like a well oiled machine , I couldn't get over how smooth the whole process was. (I apologise that I cant remember all the names , I am sorry now I didn't pay more attention) Before I knew it Mum was heading off for her surgery and I received a phone call from Mr Hurson by 10:15 to say Mums surgery went well and she was in recovery. I so appreciated that call , thank you. As did my family when I was able to convey the news.
Mums next few days were spent on a gorgeous ward called St Pauls. What can I say, the nurses were all so kind and also professional. This was my Mothers first experience of hospital apart from giving birth , and as such was quite anxious at times, but the nursing staff made the whole ordeal into a positive experience. I never met the physiotherapists but Mum only had great things to say about them.I know the social worker was also very helpful to Mum and Cappagh organised her transfer to Caritas for some respite just till she gained a bit of recovery. Again this was such a big help for us ( I am on night duty at the moment and we live in Wexford)
Its so easy for us to feel negative about the HSE, but after our experience with Cappagh all I can say is they are both a shining example and an inspiration on how to create a positive and experience within the health care system. This is so important and especially for the elders in our country who need that little bit more sometimes. Thank you so much to all of you and I cannot recommend Cappagh hospital highly enough.

Had discectomy operation there yesterday from time of arrival to departure it went like a dream tg. It's organized and I mean "all" the doctors, nurses and all staff have it running like clockwork. I didn't see them hanging round their stations doing NOTHING as I've seen in other hospitals where there's few doing everything and others doing F... all. So with much admiration and so much thanks, I thank you all for your kindness and the personal touch you all seem to have in abundance thank you all Marie Tidey

I visited Cappagh for a day procedure in January 2020.
Everyone was extraordinarily friendly and gave me a feeling of being genuinely cared for. This is a unique achievement for any organisation and is very difficult to achieve in a healthcare setting but Cappagh does it superbly. Everyone in the Hospital should take bow and richly deserves to be recognised for what they have achieved

i wish to thank all the staff who took care of me from the moment I entered the building, the staff at all levels are amazing I was terrified of going in for knee op and dealing with Covid on top but the procedures they have in place are brilliant, so please do not but of an operation if you need one the care you get here is second to none and I am glad to be home now recovering

This is a fantastic hospital. I had hip replacement surgery done in April by Dr Noelle Cassidy. The Surgeon, Nursing Staff, and the cleaning staff were really kind and helpful. Great bedside manner! I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone considering surgery. I am like a new woman!

Have to say a huge thank you to the staff at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital today. My son had a small knee operation today and from the time we arrived to the time we left (and went back after the slight problem we had) they were brillant couldn't fault any of them. Thank you so much

6 weeks ago I had surgery to remove a screw from my ankle. I have been back and forth to cappagh weekly since to have my cast changed. I finally had the cast removed yesterday ๐. It was made so much easier going to cappagh each week as I was always greeted with a smile from Margaret and the wonderful girls in the Day ward. The quality of care there is second to none and everyone is genuinely concerned about how u are getting on. I also was looked after extremely well by Eleanor and Maura in plaster bay. From the staff in the day ward, the porters, the outpatients department and even the wonderful staff in orthotics I have never had a bad experience in cappagh hospital. ๐xx

Just home from Cappagh (Mary Mc Carthy). I had a knee replacement last Wednesday. I just wanted to thank the wonderfull staff who looked after me with such care and dedication. Most professional dedicated care I have had in any hospital I have been to in Ireland. Thank you once again for your support and care and for making my recovery so comfortable. Kind regards Mary

I was here in 1961/62 because of an injury to my spine. Dr. Gillespie looked after me and did the surgery. I thank God for him and the hospital staff. Best care, best people! If I had to go anywhere because of orthopaedic problems, I would come over from Germany, where I live now, knowing they would do their very best.

The best orthopaedic hospital in the country. Easy to see why it's our national orthopaedic hospital. Thank you to Professor Damien Mc Cormac for his magic hands on our son Callum in theatre. Callum had had 2 operations under Prof Mc Cormac & he has given Callum a new lease of life!! Thank you to all the lovely staff in Theatre, Maggs & nurses pre surgery, Doctors, nurses, all in HDU & St Paul's Ward, The fabulous Physios, The porters, the Pain Management team, The cleaning staff, catering staff, canteen staff, chefs, all at reception. You all come together to make such a nice atmosphere throughout the hospital. So nice & good to see nowadays as morale is sadly gone, in so many places in HSE. All the smiles, nods, hellos or quick chat make a persons day ๐ Thank you everyone in Cappagh.
