b. f.A well what can I say absolutely 5stars for the reception we got. I had an non alcholic cocktail it was fabulous, the service we got was second to none. We were sitting by the fire while waiting for our table to be ready. The crack was might, the food was fabulous and I have never seen the size of the stakes , the were massive and no waist. I had chicken especially done for me as I don't eat red meat. No problem to the chief. The tables was well spread out , and social distances was definitely forefront .
We had a family reunion after 2yrs. We had a lovely big round table. I would definitely recommend it to who would like to dine , stay over or a perfect break away. Would I go back again absolutely 💯. Would I recommend the wine point Lodge definitely. Its expensive but well worth it 👌
T. B.Fantastic staff and amazing attention to detail. The room was beautiful and extremely spacious. Great recommendations for drinks, which were sourced from local breweries. Food was good but not great. Will definitely visit again.

Room was spacious and clean. Staff members very friendly especially Curtis and Brendan. One waitress completely ignored us and just left in the middle of taking order because she saw 2 other customers entering restaurant. I presume they were probably famous and more important. She also never came back to answer our questions regarding menu. Disgrace in 4* hotel but maybe she just had a very bad day. Eventually Curtis took care of us in professional manner.
Food was amazing. Highly recommended but I feel the glass fridge with parts of the dead body of a cow belongs to the kitchen and shouldn't be displayed in the restaurant. It really destroyed my appetite 🤮 oh and the room was left open after the bill was dropped to the floor while we were having breakfast. Not nice.

C. F. H.Truly the most phenomenal stay! Honestly a five star experience all round. All of the team who work in Wineport are beyond exceptional. The food at both dinner and breakfast was out of this world and had our taste buds watering. A memorable hot tub experience and dip in the lake with a view and surroundings that make you pinch yourself to believe it’s real. And the bedroom, decor and view of the lake was the piste de resistance.
N. C.An amazing Afternoon Tea experience! The Afternoon tea in Wine Port Lodge was truly a pleasurable experience. The staff were next to none. They greeted us with a warm welcome at the door, brought us to our table and were always at hand to top up tea or coffees! This afternoon tea was to mark my college graduation and my Nanny's 91st birthday, so when we were brought to our table, they had the most beautiful frame, that read ' Congrats on your Grad & Happy 91st birthday', along with balloons and streamers on the table. From the staff and their effort, to the food and the stunning picturesque view..No stone is left unturned in Wine Port Lodge. I would rate the Afternoon Tea experience 10/10 and recommend it to anyone!

M. H.Really lovely visit to Wineport Lodge. Greeted with a glass of non alcoholic prosecco on arrival and then shown to our room. Service was excellent, staff were very attentive, friendly and very on the ball with their service. It is located on the banks of Lough Ree. There are two hot tubs on the lake that are available for use by guests. There is also a small boat which can be hired out during your stay. We had dinner and breakfast included in our package, there was a good choice on the menu and the food was very nice.
D. J.The Wineport Lodge restaurant is a fantastic fine dining establishment. From the service to the food and lovely view this Michelin star restaurant really does live up to its reputation.
The menu features a selection of excellent starters and main courses as well as deserts while the drinks menu has a rich assortment of wines, cocktails, local craft beers and ciders and more.
A true 5 star experience in my opinion. Thank you very much for a terrific evening.

The food unfortunately was a massive let down. We were served stale bread and the pasta I had for main course was tasteless. For such a beautiful place you expect more, but due to the food I would not return.
I had also been for lunch at Christmas time and was also underwhelmed by the food then too.

D. L.A fantastic night away was had. We really enjoyed the stay fron the informal atmosphere on arrival nothing made us feel more relaxed and comfortable than the excellent well trained staff who were efficient and prompt with service to be there but not overly there. The views are amazing and the pre dinner drinks on the veranda set us up for the sumptuous meal in the restaurant.
It was fantastic not to have to endure the buffet breakfast with everything served to the table including cereal and juices.

Following an enjoyable night in the restaurant and bar we booked in for a spa treatment on our final day which was the icing on the cake the girls were brilliant! Our only regret was that we didn’t stay for longer! Highly recommend, friendly staff, great food and atmosphere and lots to do nearby!

"Myself and my bride took an overnight stay. We had never stayed here before. From the entrance of the lodge it was a lovely atmosphere. The Christmas decorations are just amazing. The staff with whom we engaged with from check-in to check- out were courteous, helpful and very friendly. We opted for the supper instead of dinner which was absolutely delicious. Breakfast the next morning too was a very relaxed experience in the beautiful spacious dining room. As regards the Covid times we are in, the lodge was totally on top of this with sanitising stations throughout the hotel and wipes available in the bar at your individual table and in our room. All in all our entire experience was a fantastic one, very relaxing and we will definitely stay here again. Thanks to all the wonderful staff. Keep up your great work".

The Wineport’s response to the challenges of Covid is innovative - including glasshouse pods which have been constructed looking over the lake. As always a great welcome, great food and a totally relaxing place to recharge.

S. B.Had lunch here for my sisters birthday. They had a card and a sign on the table wishing her a happy birthday such a lovely touch and surprise as it was not requested by us. Food was delicious and service very good. Views amazing.
P. O.We stayed for 2 nights after they reopened from lockdown, the room was amazing and the view beautiful.
Despite looking appetising, the food was a major disappointment. The chicken sandwich was bland, the seafood linguine lacked seasoning, as did the duck pate.
The biggest disappointment of all was the Green Egg pizza which I was looking forward to, but it was doughy and once again bland. Frankly I was shocked that the kitchen couldn't even get pizza right.
From a covid perspective, complimentary breakfast in bed was a nice touch (however the coffee was undrinkable dishwasher and I had to resort to the in-room coffee making facilities which in fairness consists of ground coffee and a cafetiere).
But the occupancy in the bar and restaurant was high and there was a lack of social distancing. No member of staff wore any form of mask or face covering and the wait staff (who were friendly and helpful) carried on their work in close proximity.
C. P.Absolutely brilliant place to stay or to eat. Great staff, great facilities and a beautiful location. The service is attentive without being annoying and there is not a whiff of snootiness. I loved it. It is worth paying a little extra for a room with balcony and lakeview.

a. d.Spent an incredible weekend here with my two sisters! Our stay was off to an amazing start with such a warm welcome by the managers. Our suite was fantastic, with beautiful views of Lough Ree and a balcony from which to appreciate the view all the more. Amazing pampering in the spa was followed by an absolutely incredible dinner! Breakfast the following morning was superb with an endless array of fresh delicious food to choose from! Hot breakfasts were cooked to order! We stayed a number of hours after check out relaxing on the lawn and enjoying strawberry lemonades. Lunch again was delicious. Cannot rate this place highly enough, the staff and service were unbelievable all weekend, food was outstanding, accommodation was luxurious, the spa was total pampering and the setting is just incredible!!
J. S.In spite of the very dramatic wet weather, the resort was very comfortable. My only complaint is with the frenetic service provided at meals. The staff are more obsessed with clearing your table of things than actually providing a relaxing dining experience. For example, instead of compulsively visiting our table to clear plates, just come by to offer more juice, tea or coffee! We'll be the judge of what we need cleared or not. We were interrupted no less than 4 times in a 5 minute period by 4 different staff asking about our dinner that arrived 2 minutes ago. That is a huge disruption to our relaxing and carrying own our conversation. Your maitre de was so obsessive compulsive about clearing our table that he paid no attention to his putting his elbow in my face. Enough!! Guests are there to relax and enjoy their private conversation, reading the paper and taking their time enjoying their meals. Guests are not there to be subjected to what you want to do, your staff exist to provide an experience to guests. Relax and stop being so obsessive-compulsive about clearing tables while guests are trying to relax and enjoy THEIR time together.
C. G.Beautiful room overlooking the lough; very quiet and comfortable. The evening meal was not exceptional but the seafood sharing platter was very enjoyable. This is s lovely place and worth visiting.
A.An absolutely first class hotel. Beautiful setting looking over Glaason lake. Ambiance was extremely relaxed, food was excellent and decor was very tasteful. Special mention to the staff and management who helped make our stay so pleasent and memorable. Will definitely be back, and would highly recommend.

I'm not keen on the interior restaurant decor but would definitely go back again for a visit. Priced on the higher side but coffee for 4 euro is a total rip off!!!

L. M.My husband and I stayed in Wineport Lodge for two nights over the weekend and I can say that hands down is was the best break we have ever had away.
We try to go to a 5 star Hotel every year as a treat for our anniversary but Wineport has far surpassed them all. From the greeting right until checkout the staff and management were so accommodating and just lovely and kind. We stayed in the Champagne suite and it was an amazing suite with an amazing view. My husband and I are both vegan and it can be difficult when we stay in hotels but chef was so accommodating and even though they had vegan options on the menu he did specials for us each night and desserts. The vegan food was the nicest we have ever had anywhere, including full vegan restaurants. I really can’t say enough about this hotel. I would highly highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be back again.

A. P.Fabulous one night stay at Wineport Lodge. ...wish we could have stayed longer. ..had lunch on arrival on a stunning day. We shared a seafood platter. Crab salad, prawns, salmon and scallops with their beautiful brown bread others had goats cheese salad and a super salad with chicken. Fresh and beautifully presented. We sat out on the deck looking over the lake. Our rooms were stunning with balconies. Dinner that night was lovely GF options on almost everything. Lamb shank was to die for again really good food. Breakfast next morning was a very lazy affair. Small buffet of cereals meats cheese fruit pastries etc., them warm breakfast served at your table. There was no rush at all. ...the staff are amazing and friendly and thank you Norma for all the little extra touches that made a very happy husband have a great birthday.

Staff were very friendly . the hot tubs again over look the lake and I had it all to myself.didn't try the spa but had a look and spoke to the staff and will go next time.. Had drinks on the terrace by the lake and dinner was wonderful . the breakfast next morning could have been better . Wineport Lodge is truly an amazing place..

K. C.Spent last Saturday night in the wine port it was a lovely place to have a break. The food was divine. The staff were v friendly. The receptionist catered to all our needs including a charger and toothpaste which we had forgotten to bring. The breakfast was prompt and hot in the morning in the room with the Sunday independent. The room was lovely with sonos music system with a wide variety of tracks. A great place to stay will definitely go back.

I asked for a well done poached egg and it was cooked to perfection.

M. S.Had a glorious break here with my Partner in February and even at this time of the year we really enjoyed it. Such a nice setting. Food and Staff were top class. The rooms were so luxurious overlooking the lake.
m. s.Having previously given this a 5 star review last year as a super drop in for a bite by the lake spot, there is now a new menu gone are the old favourites like ploughman's sandwiches indulgent burgers etc to be replaced by very little. Lacking choice I settled for the chowder which was very nice served, when asked for, by a few little pieces of bread. Five of us left with little to show for the money spent, guess they must be focusing on the evening dinner trade. Sad to say down grade to a coffee stop in my book.
A. H.Stayed at Wineport Lodge for a brief weekend getaway. Really enjoyed the hotel. It's the perfect place for a relaxing weekend break. We went for dinner in the restaurant. The food was excellent. From pre starter to dessert and coffee everything was superb. The only thing I didn't quite enjoy was waiting in the bar while the table was prepared. I thought initially this was due to a delay but it turned out it was part of the normal procedure. The waiting staff were great, very friendly and attentive. While the food would be considered expensive to some it is worth the money.
E. E.Amazing place! My husband and I have stayed here twice and if you're looking for a relaxing & peaceful getaway this is definitely the place. There are views of the beautiful lake from the room, from the restaurant and from the porch out front. Cosy up with a nice glass of wine with your favourite book out on the porch and grab one of the cosy, fleece blankets available at reception (which is a really nice touch). Food in the restaurant is top notch and the service is some of the best we've had ever. Would definitely recommend this little gem of a place.

C. C.We arrived at Wineport lodge after the boat cruise that we took from Athlone left us there for two hours. The manager was very rude.
Me and my pathner thought it was ridiculous that they only had a food licence. We arrived on one of the warmest days of the year and we had no choice but order food. The food was nice but very overpriced. The service we recieved was also very slow. I wouldn't stay here or recommend this place to my friends.

On arrival they upgraded our room to a suite, no charge. The staff were very accommodating and kind. There was even a hand written note and some chocolates from the manager in the room.
The overall atmosphere is so calming. We were in Monart the following week and I can say without a doubt, the Wineport is much more chilled out (to be clear: it was relatively empty when we stayed. So this may not be the case when it is busier). The spaces available to go and relax are great. The relaxation room, the outdoor Jacuzzis, good Lord, heaven.
The food was out of this world. I'll be honest, the meal in Monart was slightly better, but it is up there with the best.
The cocktails are great.
My only real issue was the lack of connectivity of the TV. There should be a smart TV with Netflix and an actual remote. Not one of these Fischer Price remotes that are built to frustrate grown men into surrender. We just watched on the tablet in the end. First world problems, hey?
There is hot water right through the night for those 3am drunken, romantic, baths.
All in all an amazing experience. Would be Ireland's best wedding venue I feel. Hopefully we can afford to have ours there soon.
Thanks to all the staff for a great stay. Top marks and on par with Monart, if not ahead, in several categories.

A. F.Went here for an overnight in February this year, arrived later in the evening didn't get a chance to have a walk around. Lovely setting by the banks of the lake. There are a couple of BMW bicycles to use if you get there early to check out the sites. Rooms were beautiful with all having views of the lake.Staff were nice and food in restaurant was overpriced although the starters of pork belly I had was the best I ever had but 20 euro for a starter, 50 for a main (still choking at the price) and 20 for a desert is only for the rich and really special occasions.

S. O.Amazing place, from the moment you book to the moment you leave, their staff make you most welcome and have a real personal touch. We stayed in the champagne suite which was a complimentary upgrade. This room is amazing, it is split over two levels with the living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs on a mezzine level with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the lakeside views from your room. The room also comes with a gas fire for that winter warmer cozy days by the fire. The food was excellent. We stayed for the 2 nights bnb with one night of dinner. The dinner was for 3 courses with tea and coffee. No exclusions or supplements which is a nice touch. A very nice touch is that you can go to the bar for a pre dinner drink where they will take your order and bring you to the restaurant when your table is ready. There is a treatment suite and outdoor hot tubes. This was an amazing place where you can chill out and enjoy the lake. We will be back.
c. f.Our room overlooked the peaceful Lough Ree as did the outdoor hot tub. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It was so good we bough a mid week special voucher for friends.

A.Beautiful location on the waterfront, bar area well presented, staff are friendly and efficient however parking & turning in the carpark is challenging due to it's small size and I didn't see any area where you could walk by the lake and enjoy nature, the main road is very narrow and twisty so you couldn't walk that (anyway it's nit near the lake and views are obstructed by trees and ditches)
