M. S.Truly superb. We had an amazing sea view room that was warm & clean and very comfy after a long drive . Our dinner in the evening was very tasty being freshly cooked with really generous portions as was the breakfast in the morning . The staff were really helpful and nothing was too much trouble . A real testament to Irish hospitality .

c. c.Only found this place by chance . The restaurant we tried first was fully booked and it was suggested we should try An Caislain Óir. Service was excellent and the food was even better. Everyone in our party of 6 was very happy but myself and my son shared a Surf & Turf special which was amazing. We got a 2 and a half pound rib eye steak cooked perfectly and a lobster, scallops, oysters, king prawns, seafood chowder and a seafood gratin along with fries and a salad. All the seafood was perfectly cooked and we just about managed to finish it all.
If I could give this 6 stars I would. I will definitely be back to stay in this hotel and sample the excellent food again.
P.S. the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food.

Folks, you don’t need to stay in the Ritz or the Hilton, just stay here. Fabulous welcoming Irish hospitality from top to bottom. The staff really look after your every need. Big rooms with comfy beds and sea views. Excellent breakfast. I’ve been all over the world and the don’t come better than James and his crew, especially Michelle.

W. M.Had a family evening meal here a couple of days ago. The location is spotty on with ample parking and great views. The menu is good with a great selection. The food was in general was excellent. Crab claws with garlic butter was without the garlic butter and when mentioned there was little interest. The whole experience was let down by a few of the staff that just were not attentive. Compared with other local options this had everything bar atmosphere and helpful staff. A real shame.

S. B.Amazing food and fantastic service. Very accommodating. Just make sure to book in advance as it is, quite rightly, a very popular spot. We have been a few times now and every time it's always a great experience. Also, all were very conscientious of covid rules as well. Top stuff altogether!
G. B.A group of us, eight adults stayed two nights here two weeks ago. The room's were fine but a long mirror on the wall would be good. The television in our room was placed on top of the wardrobe which was impossible to watch. We had all our meals there as the food was excellent and well presented. The majority of staff were very friendly and helpful but the bar staff were very inexperienced. We counted six staff behind the bar on one occasion who were serving nobody, but we still waited twenty five minutes and also complained to the owner about this. The next night was exactly the same, so in my opinion I think the bar staff need some training as they are all quite young people and inexperienced and unsure of what they are supposed to do. On both nights we had to call someone to clear our tables.

Food where do I begin?.. out of this world mash potato best in the world, the food is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and a lot of it to!! .
Excellent covid 19 guidelines, and I felt extremely safe and so well looked after.
The new decor and bed in the rooms is so so comfy I didn't want to leave.!!
For anyone looking for Vacation, Wedding or business this is by far the most breathtaking views. I'll go as far to say Best Hotel in Ireland, cannot wait to return next month for business trip.

L. C.I will give it 5 stars because of the staff and great food. My seating was poorly placed in the back of the place with no windows, but the rating is based on the food and not the experience. Drinks and the food were amazing. I had the cod and the chowder, fantastic. Also had the chicken wings but they were not for my taste, paper spicy not chilly. Definitely one of the nicest places to eat in the whole north of Donegal.

I would not stay here again tho for the fact it was €119 on a thursday night and the bedrooms are bog standard, could really do with upgrading. No long mirrors in rooms no safety catches on windows. No outdoor seating area for drinks or anything it's more of a B&B style rather than a hotel.

L. M.We stayed at Caisleáin Óir Hotel for one night late August. This hotel is quite lovely. We had a King room with no view and it was spacious and well appointed. The rooms are on the opposite end of the building so noises from the bar don't drift up to the rooms. We booked the bed and breakfast rate and we were surprised at how low the cost was for what we got. Breakfast was made to order and was spectacular. We also dined in at their in-house restaurant and it was fabulous too. We had not made a reservation for dinner so our host made sure we could get a table at a convenient time. The staff was very hospitable and helpful. We'd definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area again.

The best part of the experience was the food, first time in a long long time that I had a starter, main and dessert that I loved and would recommend to anyone. Had a pint of their in house Rua red ale which was very nice.

Highly recommend a weekend and enough the live music in the bar sit amongst the local and hear the stories gone by, this is a family owned hotel and every local has a wonderful word of their experiences through the years let it be Jack and Zita or Dom and Ann there's a lovely story and a legacy that's following you will feel right at home and leave with more friends.

Everyone is pleasant and very focused on the guests.
The rooms are well appointed and serviced, some have bay views.
Pricing is very fair, with Wifi and parking available.
We would not stay elsewhere.

They have restaurant and bar. We took the Bread and breakfast option where we got to experience traditional breakfast which had fish and it was really good. The hotel is facing a water body, but there is not much water there. The view from the sea facing rooms are nice. Rooms have Towels, soaps, Shampoo and Shower gel.
A bit pricey for the amenities, but that's alright.

J.Came across this hotel on day out and decided to stop off when we saw the outside sitting area across the road. Popped into the bar and ordered drinks, where the girl said we could take them to the tables outside and that they had a wee bar out there. So off we went so we could sit in the sunshine. While there we could see food being brought out, which looked and smelled delicious, so decided we'd order some too, (order at the outside bar and it's brought across from the hotel. Whoever thought of that should be promoted!) It was really tasty and lovely to be able to sit in the sun relaxed as we ate. Such a lovely place to stop off. We almost booked on for the night, but there were no rooms available and I could see why. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. If you're in the area you should definitely go there.

The food was exceptional, the peppered chicken and the smocky chicken tasted great the onion rings where indeed the best ever and the puddings well were do you start the profiteroles were to dead for and the baked Alaska no wonder its the favourite pud on the menu soft sponge fruit vanilla ice cream and the softest meringue would recommend a visit. The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful.

A small but really fine menu and home-brewed beers welcome you! The food was great - we had the Ultimate Surf 'N' Turf. The presentation was pure entertainment. Selected seafood specials and a great tomahawk made the dish an experience. Super tasty and hard to make for two people. Great service rounded off the evening completely. The prices are definitely justified because the products are worth paying for.
