N. C.My friends and i decided to stay at this hotel for 2 nights for an exam we had in cork! We emailed for student rates and they were very responsive throughout. We had no regrets ! The rooms were spacious, clean and modern ! The Bed was comfortable :) Reception was welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and they had a coffee machine. The hotel is connected to Red Bean Roastery which offers good coffee as well ! Location is perfect in town. 5/5. I would definitely stay here again!

C. H.I really enjoyed my stay here. It is a brillant location and the staff were very nice in reception and restaurant. The lady servicing the rooms was very obliging in giving me extra, coffee, milk towels etc. I would recommend this hotel. I liked the rooms and they were very clean. Also very comfy beds.
However, with regard to the breakfast this left a lot to be desired for a few reasons. The food choice is fine However the coffee in the machine was lukewarm. Also I noticed 2 flies walking around the ham and cheese that were available for your guests. I did mention to one of the waiters due to hygiene reasons. He told me that he could not be around swatting them?? I told him I did not expect him too but the food basically should be covered. Once I mentioned it. I feel this food should have been binned. I also said to the restaurant supervisor. This would raise food hygiene issues for me.
S. J.Lovely hotel in an ideal location. As we are living in a pandemic we were very uneasy about staying in a city hotel but from the moment we stepped inside we felt relaxed. This hotel is spotlessly clean the staff are very friendly and efficient. Our room catered for all our needs. We had breakfast and dinner and the food was perfect. Look forward to returning on our next trip to Cork city.

A. F.We stayed for a one night date night Saturday 6th November 2021. We were greeted at reception by a friendly and upbeat team, our room was just perfect. Lovely view, really clean and modern. We booked the three course special and every course was really tasty and well presented. Checkout was fast and hassle free. 10/10, thanks to Robert, Samantha and all the staff.
S.Lovely, modern hotel built in 2018. Centrally located near main shopping area. Lovely friendly staff. Very comfortable bedrooms with modern ensuite. Delicious food, reasonably priced.Superb breakfast buffet very well supervised by Daphne from Nice. Only drawback is lack of parking and no swimming pool. Perfect otherwise. Highly recommended.

G. M.We had a great 2 days in Cork and at the Maldron. From the moment we arrived at the reception desk we were made welcome. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds incredibly comfortable. We had dinner as part of the package and it was lovely. In fact we ate there the second night as well. Breakfast was equally good with lots of choice . The location on the South Mall is really convenient. The only tiny downside is the lack of parking. However the deal with the City Hall parking is good value and it's not too far away. I would happily recommend this hotel to family and friends.
S. C.This was a return visit for us. Had an issue with room allocated however this was promptly sorted. Issue in dining room for dinner in that there was a delay of about an hour waiting for food and drink order. However I want to compliment staff in the manner in which they dealt with same. As usual all staff are fantastic. Rooms in the hotel are fabulous. Food although it was delayed is delicious. Small suggestion for breakfast- ensure hot food is not delivered to the table before cereals etc. Will and are returning in August for another stay.
M. C.This is a poorly designed and managed hotel. The ground floor is #3 on the lift system which leads to total confusion. The parking is quarter of a mile away, and is expensive, (€25 for two days,). No member of staff seems too be able to answer a question without having to refer to a supervisor. The food is exceptional but the service is shocking slow. The room I was in was very small, two beds with 30 cm between each. There are two small chairs in the foyer for relaxing in - and that's the sum total of the seating. You are not allowed to sit in the restaurant or bar to have an early morning cup of coffee. Overall very disappointing.
e. f.The website states to pull up outside , put your bags in and check in before going to the off site parking, unfortunately there was no space outside when I arrived , one hour later the same cars were still blocking it . When I spoke to the manager that was on she explained that it was the council that run that aspect outside and they have no control over it , I expressed my dissatisfaction with this. Also when we buzzed in that night , no one asked our name when they opened the door for us, I volunteered our room number unprompted.
The room was clean and the hotel is in a great location.
g. o.Highly recommend this hotel we had two lovely nights .High standard of hygiene throughout the hotel in these circumstances. We had a beautiful evening meal and breakfast on both days food was great ...its walking distance to the city centre....you want go wrong if you decide to stay.

R. O.Nice spotless hotel with comfortable rooms and great location. Only thing is, I found the service to be slow and staff weren't great. We found 1 guy that helped us on check in, to be very friendly and helpful. Restaurant wasn't great. I asked for a dessert menu shortly after 9pm to, be told that the kitchen had been closed as it had been a busy day!! Golden rule is, never close the kitchen until the last table you served a main course too, are asked if, they would like dessert.

G. M.Very comfortable hotel and excellent location. Rooms very clean and modern toilet/showroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a large group but delighted on the hospitality received. The Maldron South Mall made our trip away a breeze.
B. M.We were both very pleased with our stay at the Maldron which was a two night stay with one evening dinner. Our bedroom was very very comfortable and the inhouse Dinner was superb. It was a three course meal and it's standard was very high. The only down side was the air conditioning in the Dining Room. The weather was superb so Air conditioning had to be on but both of us have problems with sinus and air conditioning does not help this problem. Otherwise full marks all around.
We did not have any room service for the duration of our stay.

W.The main reason I scored 3* is we had to leave dinner early due to an upset child, the staff kindly brought the food upto us in the room but they took no condiments, my pepper sauce for the stake had disappeared, most of the chips went missing...all in all it was disappointing. Also the kids burger was manky, clearly a frozen patty that was quick fried, it tasted like some form of cardboard between 2 buns with a bit of rubber cheese. Just cause it's for children doesn't mean you can skimp on the quality of food produced.
Other wise the staff, location and rooms were great and the cleaning staff were extra nice.

Really most pleasant and helpful, room pristine and most comfortable, food first rate - breakfast buffet choices well above norm. Evening food really delicious and staff so friendly.... Parking nearby was very easy as hotel arranged including payment. Location in city centre is a huge bonus too.... Most definite recommendation and will most certainly be back at the Madron on the Mall.

All government guidelines were followed i was a bit nervous when I made my booking but after about 5 minutes I felt so at ease and safe. The breakfast was very good but the staff are very disorganised after 25 minutes we had to enquire had they forgotten our order despite the fact it was quite empty when we arrived as people who arrived 15 minutes after us were being served their food. Our room had a coffee machine with pods we also had a kettle with packets of instant coffee but no tea unfortunately.

R. S.The hotel is located in the city centre of Cork. There is a river Lee which flows through the city to country side. The hotel has good spacious rooms and premises i neat and tidy.

P. W.I don't get the opportunity to stay in a local (to me) hotel so I jumped at the chance to stay in the Maldron on the mall. Booked in for dinner and B&B. It is a very new build but retains the original facade of several adjoining buildings. Rooms are modern with clean lines and all the mods and cons you would expect. Staff throughout the hotel are very nice and helpful, both dinner and breakfast was of a very high standard. Would definitely recommend it. The hotel is extremely central.

The hotel itself is quite new and is clean and fairly nicely appointed (nothing spectacular, but fine for the price). The food was quite good, and the breakfast was varied and plentiful.
What really stood out for me, and what earned this hotel a 5-star rating was the staff:
Reception staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating - they even got us three rooms close to each other on a busy weekend!
Restaurant staff were also very good. There was one mistake made (my steak was cooked medium instead of rare), but they were REALLY quick to react when I pointed it out, and both the waitress and the manager apologized for the mistake.
Accommodation manager (Aga) was fantastic - I forgot my toilet bag when checking out, and when I contacted the hotel to see if they had found it, she was very quick to locate it on their lost and found system and made clear arrangements to let me pick it up later.
In general, I find that, regardless of the facilities of a hotel, if the service is good, the stay will be good. And here, the service was GREAT!

The location was very close to another of the groups hotels but was perfect for our needs and right beside many of Cork's finest restaurants and bars.

I didnt like the bed it was too soft for me and the heating was inconsistent.
Toiletries were sufficient and I was provided with a free shave and dental kit on request.
Food options post 11pm are limited to 2 types of pizzas and sandwiches. They take a long ti e to arrive though!
Breakfast is good I wasnt there long enough to try the restaurant.
Overall the experience was fine.

I will most definitely be returning to try more of their gluten free options- I saw a lovely goats cheese salad I look forward to trying. While I couldn’t dine inside I ate in the outdoor courtyard. The receptionist told me they would be installing heaters in the coming weeks. Can’t wait to go back ⭐️

The hotel went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The food and drinks were also fabulous. We ate their for breakfast as well as dinner. I would definitely recommend the stay, food, and drinks!

A. C.We booked a new year mid week break for our family in this brand new hotel. We have seen it being built over nearly 2 years and were very excited about staying here. It is finished to a very high standard, the beds are really comfortable and we all slept really well. We had booked 2 family rooms with an interconnecting door. As the hotel was new there was a little problem with the rooms and we were moved to two triple rooms during our stay. The rooms are very spacious and quiet with modern flat screen televisions and easy to control air conditioning . Breakfast in in the morning was to a very high standard with lots on offer from hot cooked breakfast to continental and everything in-between. The kids loved it. We wish the hotel all the best in the future. If you're thinking of staying in Cork city it is very centrally located and you will not be disappointed with your choice.
J. L.Lovely hotel located in the heart of cork city. Very clean and modern. Staff are friendly and helpful. I really loved the cafe out the front. They have gorgeous brunch options and really good coffee. Nice extra to the hotel. Worth a visit even if your not staying in the hotel.

I. S.A very nice and comfortable hotel, with super helpful staff and delicious food in the restaurant. However, there’s room for improvement on the cleanliness: my bathroom hadn’t been cleaned - they apologised and gave me another room, customer service was great. But then one of the towels in my new room was dirty which was really disappointing, especially since this is an expensive hotel. This should be an easy fix so hopefully somebody will sort it out quickly and then it will be a great place to stay.

That was ao delicious...my husband had a fillet steak, which he said was definitely one of the best ones he have had. Nice, modern rooms with a decent size TV. Very comfy bed too.

J. M.New hotels finding its feet. Great location but a few things to sort out. I know beds are subjective, but the bed (214) is too soft and the pillows to hard. Bathroom lights should be the bedside lights and visa versa. You probably need to move the dust bins or the collection time.

A. G.Brand new city centre hotel. The hotel is in the perfect location on the South Mall right in the heart of the city over looking the river Lee. The area is very quiet so a great night's sleep awaits. Old protected sections of the building are married very well with the new. Very welcoming and relaxing lobby area with cafe and bar. Reception staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in an executive room 431 which has a beautiful listed ornate window looking out onto Parnell Street over to an old fashioned bank. The room was very quiet and very comfortable. Brand new Super King Coil mattress and nice quality toiletries. Breakfast standard is high with great healthy options available and omlets to order. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Cork City.

A. M.There are 2 Maldron hotels in Cork. This one is about the South Mall one where I spent a few days.
The staff is amazing and always happy to assist or have a little chat. I really enjoyed that aspect.
There is a bar. I sat there for half an hour. I didn't try the restaurant at this occasion.
The room was OK. Not a small room, not large. Just average for Cork. Comparatively to other places where I stayed in that city (River Lee, Imperial, Kingsley, Maryborough...) I found the room rather small. The bathroom was equipped with a shower. No bath tube; usually it's the norm in other places I stayed within Cork area.
In the booking system, the room was described as "Executive King Room" with city view. Had the room being described as an Ordinary Room, with shower and view over a wall, I would have left 5 stars because there would've been no over expectations in first place. But when I pay extra for "the view" just to have a wall, I feel a bit ripped off.
The room number was 730. I recommend avoiding it.
The hotel is overall good but I wouldn't give much credit to the superlatives and glorified terms they use to describe their rooms. Once the expectations are correctly set, I am sure it's a clean and enjoyable place. As a frequent traveler, I will keep it in my list as a basic alternative when other places are booked in town.

The burgers were thin and cooked so long they snapped in half. The “ Louisiana Hot wings” are not hot at all. Tasted like watered down franks red hot sauce. The Cajun people would be embarrassed to have there name on these. The blue cheese. I don’t know what it was but it was not blue cheese. It was white watered down and not a piece of blue cheese in it. The Apple crumb desert was extremely tart. I would stay in the hotel but steer clear from the dinner portion of they’re menu.

M. M.Fantastic Maldron Hotel I get the feeling that this hotel is pretty new. I arrived late in the evening and parked basically outside the hotel for free. Wifi is good, rooms are brand new and fresh so are the bathrooms. The price of this Maldron is normally quite expensive compared to other hotels in the area but this is probably one of the best hotels in Cork.

K. T.Not bad, good location, but be warned the multi storey car park they use is quite tight for large cars and a good walk in the rain. We had a room on the 8th floor, and the machinery noise from the aircon and lifts was vaguely reminiscent if being on a ship, not very loud, but constant. Nice modern room though and great breakfast. Would definately use again, just nit on the 8th dloor or near the lifts.
Also the aircon was quite awkward. Seemed to want to chill well below the set temperature, no mode woukdcpersuade it otherwise. Turned it off on the 2nd night. Much better.
