M. D.Great hostel, very close to the city centre, the staff is always fabulous and ready to help; my advice is if you have any issue just tell them they'll fix it in no time! I have been in different kind of rooms during my stay, some were quite small others were great. I have been in the 14 beds dorm and it was nice, with its own ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped so you have every tool you could ever need. Everything is clean and tidy. The beds are equipped with a reading light, a socket and two usb chargers. Overall a good experience except for some noisy and some lazy people that didn't clean up after them in the kitchen, but you cannot blame the staff for that. I wish some rooms were a bit bigger or there were less beds in it.
A. N.Positives about the hostel: low price, close to the city, and friendly staff (shoutout to MG!). I felt safe in the area.
However, it is crowded, difficult to sleep in the larger dorms (because of the noise outside and small, cramped rooms), and does not have an elevator.
At the end of the day, it's a budget youth hostel and you get what you pay for... but there are much nicer hostels. If you're looking to get a good night's sleep, I'd go elsewhere.
F. S.Great hostel overall at the price. The main downside is the walls are paper thin on the top floor, we were woken up in our double room at 6.30am by someone in the room next to us having a lively phone call that continued for over 40 minutes. In a pretty good location for exploring the city. Happily recommend it for travelers on a budget!
t.Lovely clean rooms, comfy beds with a handy light/plug/USB port strip above the bed so you don't have to leave your phone halfway across the room. Common areas are bright and clean and welcoming - would 100% recommend
A. T.They were very nice at reception. The hostel have nice common areas (kitchen, terrace, common hall, TV), good WiFi, and it's everything very clean.
I was in a twin room and even if it's small was really nice because it had its own bathroom and universal plugs (so I didn't have to use an adapter). They leave towels and hand soap.
The only thing I didn't like it's that you can hear everything coming from the adjacent rooms so I couldn't sleep so much. Also, they could change more often the kitchen bins, because sometimes they are very full and you don't know where to throw the rubbish.
It would be nice to leave a space to leave the food people is not going to use anymore* :)
N. K.It's a hostel at the end of the day. You shouldn't be expecting luxury but it has all amenities you could ask for and is safe. Very well placed near the city plus very affordable.
J. K.The guests and staff are (mostly) fantastic people and the hostel is very accommodating to late night soirees. The showers have a water dispenser and you can't control the temperature, also bring soap, towels, etc. They can print documents for you at 10 cents and do laundry at €6.50, there is also work rooms, a well equipped kitchen, patio and dining area. Theres a tv in the living area. The beds are alright. For the price, this place delivers, and then some.

T. P.I reaaally like the hostel! It was a new experience for me. It was my first time sleeping in the same room with males😂 if you're looking for new experience, this hostel is the right choice. But it's not really the best choice if you're looking for a place to fully rest. it's a bit hot in my room, but luckily my bed was near the window.
Also, because this hostel is located in a high place, so prepare to walk all the way uphill. Oh and another thing, for muslim, they dont have a praying room, so you need to find free spaces (i prayed in the end of the hallway, near the staff door) because my room was not ready yet at the moment. The best thing about this hostel for me is that staffs of the hostel are so friendly!!🖤 and the hostel is clean😉
A. B.On arrival the staff were super nice, mainly the male, the women not as much but they were all very polite and helpful, The rooms were clean and the directions to the room were clear. The room was easy to find. The room was clean and spacious. Adorable smoking area out the back by the rooms too! The beds are comfortable and i got a really good sleep. Only down sides to the place is that the hostel is uphill which very tiring if you dont drive but its do-able, and its only a few minutes from city centre and many fun places, and there is no kettles etc in the rooms and it costs 1.50 for tea, But over all its a very modern place and i had an excellent experience! Also has a great and very nicely designed kitchen area!

h. i.I was happy with my stay it was clean and warm and a good price for what you got our room had a bunk bed and double bed on the bottom! We had a private bathroom and although small was handy. Plenty of common areas for people to Meet and a patio area etc good handy place to stay while in cork and close to the bars and restaurants which are literally 2 min drive r 6min walk!

Very pleasant and cooperative reception staff. Even though the room was tiny but was satisfactory for someone like me who's looking to explore the city and just needs a decent private place to crash and reenergize.
The exit green light on the roof of the room was an annoyance as it is too bright and disturbing in the night, I had to cover the light with my facemask in order to get sleep.
You can also book beds if you don't mind sharing with a group of 4, 8 or more which brings down the cost of your stay to as low as 18 euro/night.

Our receptionist Sean (or Shaun sorry if I I misspelled it) was lovely and polite, everything super clean, chargers everywhere even Spanish ones, blankets are super warm and there's lamps on top of the beds for personal use, the kitchen is immense and fully equipped and it's a 3 minute walk to town. Would definitely come again.
L.Little bit of a climb up the hill to get to this hostel. But it does have a fair few signs to help you find it!
Checkin was easy and the ladies behind the desk were very helpful. Gave us a list of all the places they get discounts, bar suggestions, and other food suggestions.
We only stayed the one night in the private room, so never really got the chance to use many of the facilities. Our room was clean and the mattresses were comfy.

There are 2 usb ports for charging and a wall outlet +night lamp directly at each bed which is handy. However there's no shelves to put things so you're gonna end up shoving everything under the bed to not obstruct the way. Lockers are available though for 1€ euro per day located near the entrance.
D.Nice hostel for the price but maybe it will be better if bed were assigned :) You have to walk a little to get here haha, a top of the mountains. A medium kitchen and a fridge for leave some foods!
The breakfast was a little expensive for what we have.

s. z.The staff here is very cool and welcoming. The rooms are clean and I like the ambiance too. Once I booked a mixed dorm and there was no girl in the mixed dorm, the staff moved me to ladies dorm(which was bit costly) without charging me extra. That was really very understanding and generous of the staff. They really help you out with everything without bothering us. I have stayed in all the hostels in cork.. but this hostel is best of all.

M. H.I stayed there twice. Once in 1994, and another time in 2000. Place is perfect for walking into the city. Remember you have to come back up the hill after hitting the town. I was always with a group so we had our own room. Beds were comfortable for a good sleep. Bathroom was shared but fine. Staff always helpful. When I’m back in Ireland I will stay at Sheila’s again.

O.It's budget accommodation but it's a good standard, rooms and bathroom facilities are extremely clean and each bunk has it's over plugs and reading lights which is really handy when sharing a room with others. The walls are pretty thin tho you can hear what's going on in and around the hostel but other than that it's a good deal if you're looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful

Gale is so kind and helpful and always cheering everybody up -he even helped with an assignment once the absolute star. Barbara is the sweetest as well as incredibly welcoming, with a wicked sense of humour to boot. If you are having an off day, she’s the one who puts a smile on your face. Boris, an absolute gem let me use his phone once when I was worried about something, as well as being super lovely, suddenly remembering those lovely sparkling waters! Sean is the most gentlemanly person I have ever met, I’ve seen him help more people with bags! Asha, Lauren, Maria, all the other guys always smiling and helping and the owners are genuine and sound. I need to wrap up this thesis but you guys should be mega proud, you’re a class act. I most definitely recommend
A. D.Stayed for 2 nights and it was nice. A lot of stairs but that's to expect from a hostel in Ireland. It was close to everything we wanted to do and fairly simple to get to (lots of signs). We didn't spend much time actually in the common areas but everything seemed clean and well-kept. Beds were more comfortable than the last couple we've stayed at

M. O.I spent my first days there in Ireland from May 15, 2005 to May 20, 2005. I met a lot of extraordinary-ordinary people. It was my beachhead on new land. It didn't matter if the room was for 4, 6 or 8 people - there was a place to stay. It didn't matter that I had to put my belongings down - there was a place to sleep. And it didn't matter that there were no relaxation zones like these days - there was a bed. I had a great opportunity to feel a litlle bit of great heritage which was a part of Irish history, far away and long time a ago in America, but here in the comfrortable, modern scale. I miss those days when the bunk was de facto enough to feel alive.
p. s.good if you are looking for a cheap hostel. the common area is very small and the kitchen as well compared to number of people. rest the staff is great and helps out on everything. should open a prebook option for lockers as they were full and had to leave stuff just like that.
P. L.Pretty decent layout. Small but cozy, they offer onsite overnight laundry service for 5Euro which is a bonus for travellers. Sadly, no lockers in the rooms, they have a locker area that you pay 1Euro per day to use plus a 5Euro deposit for the key otherwise I would have given 5 stars. The area is perfect, well within walking distance of most shops, pubs and attractions. Great and friendly staff!

S. g.I splet in a bedroom of 14 people with 10 of my friends. Beds are confortable, bathroom is clean but too small for 14. Breakfast are very good for 3€ and the luggage room for 1€ per day is very good (large and secure). Kitchen a little small and not enough space for everyone's food. Price-quality ratio very good for a cople of days.
S. O.Very friendly staff (Paddy) with nice big kitchen and social areas. Close to great parts of the city once you manage the super steep hill up York St. Basic breakfast for 3 euro, but I didn't try it. Not a lot of power outlets in smallish room, but overall I really liked this place. Only lockers are also rentals in a different room downstairs that are cheap and large. It is a very popular hostel so would recommend booking in advance. I was able to secure a Wednesday and Thursday night but the weekend was booked up. Allegedly there is an issue in Cork with not enough housing.

F. G.Almost everything was good during my stay there! I slept in the 14 beds room for 17€ euros per night.
Just two things a bit annoying, there were a lack of wall outlet (7 for 14 people) and the ensuite bathroom was not working correctly and so it was very dirty.
Except this, the hostel was very good, bed were good, 8min walk from the city center, free car park just in front of the hostel and the staff was very nice!

E. O. C.I've grown attached to this place after some college trips. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly, the prices are great and the amenities are really surprising. It's up a significant hill but even walking it isn't so bad. My gripe is mainly the massive amount of stairs, and the fact that on one trip our radiatior broke and started leaking and despite several requests nobody fixed it, so we just had a wet floor.
H. V.Rooms are small but clean. The best thing about this hostel is the big kitchen and common room. You meet so many people while cooking and eating, during our stay we even ended up cooking Belgian dishes for some people we met, while they made Chinese dishes for us. Really amazing.
T. L.A nice quiet place with friendly staff. Had a good night sleep. Also nice living room downstairs opened 24/7. Unfortunately private rooms are overpriced. 50 euro for a prison cell like looking room. Despite that I would recommend.

S. K.The noisiest night ever. We had a private room but felt like we shared it with the world and his wife. When the noise in the night finished, the cleaners in the morning started. And they liked to stand outside our door nattering it seemed. But! Good location, cheap as chips and the breakfast was a bargain.

R. L.We had to leave one night earlier, but that was no problem. They gave us full refund, great thank to the friendly manager. Breakfast is chep, but contains only toast and muesli. A few minutes walk to the town. Room was fine with own bathroom (small shower and toilet). A bit noisy from the terrace.
A.Front staff were extremely nice and the private room ensuite was adequate for our stay. 3 Euros gets you breakfast with bread with condiments, cereal, juice and/or coffee - worth it, in our opinion. WiFi was a bit spotty for us so may not work for streaming. Laundry isn’t done on Sundays but staff was nice enough to offer to do a load later in the evening if their workload permitted.
T. S.The location is more then perfect. The place is quiet at night but close to the river and the bus stop (we've arrived from Dublin) - 10 mins walk with luggage. And at the same place stops the Blarney-tour bus. And some great pubs are very close (the White Rabbit, The Corner House..) and a small supermarket.
The kitchen and the toilet needs some maintenance, but the rooms are not dirty as some people said... The bedrooms are really small and don't have any furniture. Tidy and clean - good for short stay.
K. V.Nice location near the city. Only a short walk down the hill to various restaurants, shops, etc. Rooms had typical accommodations, but were clean and the breeze coming up the hill kept them nice and cool. Definitely staying here again next time I'm in Cork.
B. C. M.The 3 stars are for clean common areas, especially bathrooms. Members of staff are really friendly. Lockers are also clean and cheaper than many hostels I've stayed in. They usually charge €2 per day for a locker elsewhere so the €1 per day is a good deal. I hate it when I can't control water temperature in the shower. The one major problem I had is that I was placed in a room with people who have been staying in the hostel for weeks or possibly months. It may help with running costs to have a steady stream of income by having guests stay for weeks but the rooms end up really filthy. I walked in and struggled to breathe with the stinky shoes and filthy socks. I opened the windows to let some air in. When people are staying longer than a week, place them in their own room and don't mix them up with short stays. Also, the bedding had an awful smell because of the closed room with stinky shoes and socks. They could do like most hostels and provide clean bedding when guests check-in. I couldn't tell if they were dirty or it was the awful smell in the room. Housekeeping only went in to empty the bin. Then someone else came in, looked at the room for a few seconds and said "perfect." They seemed more interested in number of beds occupied.

R. W.I stayed at Sheila's with four other friends this past weekend. Overall, we had a good experience. We were nervous going in because we had read a lot of negative reviews of the hostel, but Sheila's was our only option due to budgets and a last minute trip. However, I would definitely recommend to others that they stay at Sheila's. The only negative experience we had was that one of my friend's sheets were dirty, not great to fall asleep in! We were able to keep bags for very cheap in the lockers while we were out exploring the city and its surroundings which was very nice and were even allowed to use the lockers after we had checked out. I read a lot of reviews talking about how in order to get to the hostel, you have to walk up a steep hill, but if you want to get to anything in the city that is the case, so it is not a downside to the hostel. The rooms were very cramped (almost no walking space between beds), but the pricing for the hostel was definitely reasonable for what you got.
M. C.Sheila's is an hostel near the city centre, in the northern side of the river Lee. It's easy to reach because is 5 minutes far from the bus station. The rooms are cozy and they do their jobs. If you are not looking for a 5 star hotel, but something cheaper, this is the place for you! The guys at the reception are friendly and they are ready to help you. The only negative thing I personally found is that rooms don't have their bathroom, but you need to use the shared ones (however it's written anywhere on any websites you can use to book a room).

B. B. Z.I've been to a few hostels so comparing those to these.. The wifi here is spotty, the rooms are very narrow, and you have to pay for parking and no continental breakfast. But that said the rooms and bathrooms are clean and it was the best mattress we've had in a hostel yet.
c.There is no Victoria Quarter in Cork City. The people of cork are not being tourist/historic gimmick. The area is McCurtain Street after a proud Irish revolutionary and Lord Mayor of Cork. Not a shameful queen

D.Sheila's is a big hostel. It is located approx 10 minutes walk from the town center. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpfull. There are enough showers and you can get breakfast for 3€. They also have a 24/7 reception so you don't have to worry about staying out late.
R. s. R.I'm not a picky person at all but I found the rooms smelly and my pillow was dirty. It's a good hostel to go with friends though. Good location, friendly staff and nice breakfast.
L. C.We arrived late at night and the man at the reception welcomed us and told us the different options available. He was patient with our indecision and he also told us about where to go to gwt a parking disc. Very clean kitchen and comfy beds. Hot water in the showers. The room ensuite we had was a bit narrow and the restroom was very small but it was clean and ok. The breakfast is more than perfect for just 3 euros and the man who was serving the toasts was very friendly and smiley with all the guests! :)
V. E.Sheila's is very close to the Cork City centre with a very friendly and helpful staff. Clean dormitory rooms with bunk beds. This place is ideal for the fast paced travelers. Be prepared to walk up a sweat going uphill and downhill to and from the hostel. Be prepared to share the charge sucket in the room with others. But there are a lot more in the foyer waiting room.

R. M.I had one problem, the only bed left (for me) was covered in all sorts of food that the last person left for me. I had to sleep in a single bed with my friend which was a complete waste of money! The staff were fantastically polite, when my room was not ready the lady at the front allowed us to wait in the cinema room for a nap.

Sauna had been broken the day we got there but was being fixed. SHE HAS A SAUNA!
She was also the cheapest option of the 3 main hostels in the city, I have stayed in them all so for value (and of course SAUNA!) I would recommend her most of all.
Also, I left a brand new Liverpool home kit in my room and she posted it back for free.

Il y a une cuisine où l'on peut cuisiner si on a apporté ses propres ingrédients. Le matin on peut prendre un petit déjeuner pour 3 euros. J'avais opté pour une chambre à 6 lits avec une sdb ensuite, mais il y a aussi des douches communes.
Le seul bémol ça a été la propreté de la chambre qui a première vue et correcte mais qui en faite laisse à désirer (tonne de poussière sous mon lit) et peut être le fait que les agents qui font le ménages rentrent tous les matins dans la chambre même si on dort toujours.
Dans l'ensemble pour une auberge de jeunesse et à ce prix là, je pense que c'est bien pour un weekend ou quelques jours. En plus elle est très bien située (proche centre ville et bus ).

Las zonas comunes muy bien, con sofás, mesas, ordenadores (de pago), libros, juegos de mesa...además tienen una pequeña barra de bar para tomarte algo allí tranquilamente, dado que normalmente suele llover y no hay muchos bares por su zona.
Los baños y la limpieza en general, también muy correcto.
Yo acabé bastante satisfecho, lo recomiendo.

Sobe jesu male ali su uredne, ugodno je bilo spavati.
