Very helpful Friendly staff. Lovely rooms and food. One gripe- If have asked for a room with a view then hand back the key to room 306 before trapsing up two lifts down all corridors and double doors to have to ring and change rooms. 2nd room perfect .

I loved the rustic and modern style of this hotel. The food was delicious and the staff did their best but where overwhelmed at times causing some long delays waiting for service and delivery. I would definitely recommend and I will stay again.

Had a fabulous meal here. Really enjoyed it, good value, hot and tasty.
The staff are a credit to the Hotel too so helpful and friendly.
Good job guys.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic views on the city from the hill, especially at night. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Nice fragrance in the hall. Cozy spacious room with big TV. I would give 5 stars, but there are a few drawbacks like the bed wasn't comfortable (too hard), thin pillows, broken glass in the window (bathroom) and poor cleanliness. At least in our room. When we stepped in I noticed chocolate spots on the table and on a cup, the carpet was dirty with crumbs, a piece of earing and huge yellow spot on it. Looked like noone did the hoovering here for weeks. Big free parking is a HUGE bonus, no other hotel in the city centre offer it. So no trouble if you travel by car. The city centre is 15-20 mins walking via charming streets down the hill. I would come back here, favorite hotel in Cork so far.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here in the address for a special birthday with family. Staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome and looked after our needs. Food was delicious and we had no complaints

Just back from our family vacation to Cork, where we stayed in The Address hotel. I can't speak more highly of this hotel. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing was too much for them to make our stay unforgettable.
The room was beautiful and spacious, the food excellent and again, the staff, exceptionally welcoming and friendly. In fact we stayed an extra two nights, we enjoyed it that much.
We will be back, and thank you to the lovely accommodating staff, you made a family very happy. You are a credit to the industry.

Three of us went for a meal each person orded different mains and all agreed food was delicious. Stunning decor warm and welcoming

The Address in Cork was actually my second choice for accommodation in Cork, after The Imperial. But after going to The Imperial for a facial (which was a frigid, aged labyrinth with mediocre, at best customer service and devoid of personality) this turned out to be a blessing. The Address is beautifully and tastefully presented, has large, clean (highly covid conscious), fully equipped rooms, has a
fabulous restaurant that makes the best seafood chowder I had in Ireland, and the customer service (especially Aleksandra at the front desk who deserves a raise whatever she is paid). Highly recommended

Loved the hotel and the food was lovely. If your having food in the evening make sure to book it for 7 as it gets pretty busy and there might be a delay for getting your food. Also if you book your breakfast in the morning for 9 make sure to get down there for 8.50 as it gets packed at around 9.05. There is a car park there too.

Beautiful part Cork overlooking city. Veey friendly atmosphere. Great food and choice of drinks. Highly recommend

Having stayed there several times, I love this hotel - great atmosphere, incredibly friendly staff (from front desk, to bar/restaurant, to housekeeping), great management, excellent food in McElligots and perfect location. On our most recent trip there was a mix up in our rooms upon checking in, the manager took care of it within minutes and not only was our dinner that night on the house but they also paid for breakfast the following morning. I used to stay at the Montnotte up the street but this place beats it. I cannot recommend the place highly enough and am looking forward to staying there again.

Five stars for the kindness of the workers. Needed help on several occasions, including printing a necessary document. Happily obliged.
The room is as clean as one can expect. The tea kettle is grimy, so I recommend bringing your own. No A/C, but heat in winter. Ironing board in small cabinet and armoire for suit jackets. Bathrooms are clean. I appreciate the eco-efforts with drinking glasses; paper ones would be preferred for guaranteed cleanliness. Lunch hamburgers are delicious, both vegetarian and meat.
Nights are bumping with families and business partners having a drink. I kinda wish the waitresses would bring the bills faster, but that might be my holdup. There is some confusion as to whether one needs a meal reservation. I walked in without trouble on several occasions without injury, but the staff seemed slightly annoyed. I made reservations afterward, and they seemed much more appreciative. Again, maybe it was me.
I included pictures of the private bar for parties and gatherings. Seems a nice place to have a toast.
Overall, a good hotel for a good time and extended stay.

Lovely room, tasty food and excellent service. A perfect spot for a relaxing lunch and catch up away from the hustle and bustle.
M. C.
Very nice all round hotel, location is great 10 minute walk to the city centre, carpark, the restaurant is second to none and the staff are very helpful. We'll worth a stay.
C. M.
Nice hotel. Big rooms. Very clean. Good breakfast (extra cost), nice service in restaurant. Front desk staff no so nice, not helpful at all.
F. P.
Staff was amazing and service was great. The restaurant, very good. Quiet rooms and great location to visit Cork and surrounding areas. The only thing I can complain is that the pillows were too hard for my taste, not very comfy, so I had a little headache in the morning, and there was no ventilation in the bathroom.
P. V.
A really wonderful place for an event. The staff are super helpful and so polite. We had a great time at a wedding tonight.
C. F.
The club room has the best view of the city of all the hotels in Cork City.
Friendly, attentive staff. The outside terrace is really nice. This hotel has alot of character. I would definitely choose this hotel as my first in the city. If you weight the pros and cons this hotel for the price and quality outweighs the rest. As some hotels in cork are overly expensive and have no justification other than calling itself boutique.
P. M.
Very nice hotel, lovely view of Cork city from our room, staff very friendly, good food. Would return.
S. B.
Stylish hotel in a Victorian style building. Situated in a historic part of cork and within 5 minutes walk of some nice restaurants and bars and about 10 mins from the main city centre
j. c.
Spent two lovely nights at the Address, our room looked out onto cork city what a wonderful view
The staff made us feel very welcome This is a hotel to return to
E. B.
Top quality food at very reasonable prices. Very efficient staff and an absolutely lovely location in a beautifully preserved building... loved it...
S. K.
Amazing hotel. So much character. The rooms are Devine , decor is amazing and bed is very comfortable. Gorgeous views. The building and surrounding areas are stunning. An old military hotel , packed with history. Reception is beautiful and luxurious and reception staff very attentive. All staff very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely be back
M. F.
Found The Address a gorgeous hotel. Room was amazing with view over the city, as for the staff they were so friendly and couldnt do enough for you. Highly recommened it.

Very nice place to stay with very nice and helpful staff.
Would recommend for a stay if you are in the area. Their restaurant serves very nice food as well.
One additional plus: easy access to the gym and the general size of the gym which was quite nice for a hotel gym
J. O.
Thoroughly enjoyed my night here. Beautiful bedroom. Delicious breakfast super choice 😋
K. J. J. B.
I stay here all the time a beautiful restored building full of history and could be haunted as I could have seen something but who'd believe me suffice to say 2nd floor, enough said.
P. O.
Great place for Dinner. Maybe upgrade the kids menu a little and it'd be 5 star. Great staff.
T. D. R.
Very cool old hotel, friendly staff and good food and Craic at the bar
J. C.
Lovely hotel and bar staff very friendly would definitely go back again

We stayed Sunday night 6th June, very happy with everything, room very spacious and all staff very friendly and polite, lady on reception when we checked in (around 4:30pm) was very helpful and Christopher in the restaurant was outstanding, highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again
C. C.
Lovely hotel and family friendly ❤we enjoyed our 4 night stay will definitely be back again
P. J.
Normally I love this place, got a toatie and tea, no vaccine cert checked.
J. B.
Such a lovely location, a little further out in a quiet location but in close proximity to the main city centre. The outside of the building was phenomenal too! Really lovely staff at the front dest when we first arrived. We stayed in a room with a balcony and it was great! Our tv wasn’t working and they immediately got a v friendly handyman To come in and replace it. The only complaint I had was when having a shower I found some hair in the bath and soap from previous guests on the wall. Covid regulations following are 8/10.
C. D.
Lovely room Covid regulations very well adhered to, staff very helpful and friendly. I would recommend it to friends.
L. K.
Highly recommended. Members of the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are ultra spacious and clean. Amazing view from the front facing balconies. The restaurant serves good food and there's a good bar.
R. D.
Throughly recommend this hotel great breakfast great food friendly staff
G. C.
The staff here were excellent, really could not fault any of them - from check in through to those working in the restaurant. There was such a welcome atmosphere. Whilst the room was perhaps a little dated and the bathroom a little tired, it was only to be expected from a building of this age and the place was so clean that nothing really detracted from it. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was faultless.
Can't wait to come back!
A. O.
So nice lovely meal staff couldn't be nicer one thing people should not be smoking at there table
H. N.
Had lunch recently perhaps we just got unlucky with the food I feel it was not up to standard, a fabulous location beautiful hotel amazing views, will go again I am hopeful for a good lunch!
S. S.
Room was spacious and clean. Super friendly staff, nice breakfast, location is good the only thing is walking up hill to get to the hotel, but if you have your own car then that's not a problem. What I don't like is that you have to go to the restaurant downstairs yourself to get water. We were staying in classic room and apparently they don't bring you water in your room. Also there was no welcome note or information pumflet in the room. These are normal things that you would expect from a 4 star hotel. We were provided with a baby cot without any blanket, pillow and mattress, it only had a wooden base, so didn't use it at all.
D. O. C.
Nice hotel fantastic view of the city friendly staff to take care of you enjoyed
D. B.
A beautiful hotel .. in heart of Northside of City! Ideal as a base to explore Cork City.
J. W.
We had a great stay here. The service is fantastic and Don the late night bartender is the best ever. Great conversation. The rooms were very nice and beds were comfy. Get a room with a balcony. Restaurant was good too. Front desk staff was very friendly. Easy walk into the center of city. But beware coming back, it's a massive hill. Only downside is the warm water came out tarnish brown sometimes. We would stay here again
A. A.
This is our second time staying here and did not disappoint. We were looked after on short notice by Rhona the reservations manager. The staff were fantastic and very helpful and genuine while complying with strict covid19 measures. Food was fantastic , great selection of drinks and a very nice spacious room. Overall another great experience. Look forward to staying again. Thank you to all !
O. D.
Lovely hotel. Staff very nice and helpful. Food was delicious!

Just back from a 4 night stay at this hotel. While the hotel itself is impressive with a pleasant exterior, a welcoming reception foyer and clean rooms, unfortunately the staff were not up to 4 star standards. I found the majority of staff unfriendly and at times rude with customer service clearly at the bottom of their priorities. One of the most notable (and worrying) issues was the lack of cleaning at the hotel gym. Upon check in, we were informed that the gym had to be pre-booked and we could book on the hour for use of up to 45 minutes (allowing cleaning of the gym between uses). I pre-booked the gym one morning and found 2 people using it during my slot. I mentioned this to the receptionist and she insisted that it was 3 minutes to my slot and some people go over-time. I responded by saying that I was informed slots were for a maximum of 45 minutes and she just said she will send housekeeping up (assuming to clean). I was under pressure to make it down for breakfast after the gym so had to use it with 2 others in there. No housekeeping came during my time there. Despite this, we did mention our concerns to a lovely gentleman on reception called Anthony who dealt with our queries exceptionally well and was very professional. He insisted he would deal with the issue asap.
Due to the worrying concern above (during a pandemic!) I will not be returning to this hotel or recommending it to a friend as I worry what other corners they're cutting during these difficult times.
D. C.
Lovely hotel. Just out of town but is just a little walk down the hill. Highly recommend
E. O. S.
The food is top notch and the staff are lovely. The covid 19 social distancing is very well implemented here with plenty of hand sanitizers on tables and at entrances and all staff wearing face coverings while keeping a very relaxed atmosphere for dining. I would highly recommend The Address for good food.
F.
Room was a bit small for a couple and infant.
The housekeeping staff were extremely nice and very helpful.
Receptionist I couldn't fault. Food was very expensive for the portions that were given.
I'm not sure if I would return.
P. P. F.
I had a great meal here on Tuesday night, prawns were excellent and even better service from Sasha and Joe.
K. D.
Room was good. Carpet was very stained. Comfortable bed and lovely bath/shower. We were on the third floor which was quite a distance from reception and quite confusing. Although it was explained at reception we still got lost. We had friends staying in a different room with an accessible balcony, massive bed and bathrobe and slippers. Our room was very disappointing in comparison! We didn't get robes and slippers either! If booking, request room with balcony and city views. Lovely hotel and staff seemed friendly. The lady that checked us in seemed rushed and just said very quickly to go up the lift to the 1st floor, go left left left and get another lift to the 3rd floor and left... We were confused before we even got into the first lift! So many doors and corridors!
J. O.
If you're planning on walking during your visit, be wary that the hotel is situated on a fairly steep incline with little grip. Parking, however, grand. Check-in was simple and the hotel is very clean. In addition, our room required 2 elevator rides and around 10 minutes of walking to reach, which may not be ideal for those with mobility limitations. Take note that the hotel is very warm and that there is no fridge in the rooms--we only found out on our last night that we could ask to bring water from the restaurant to our rooms, which would have saved a lot of hassle. Staff in the restaurant and bar were lovely. The area itself was quiet and close to many amenities, which was brilliant.
M. O.
A beautiful hotel, with amazing team of staff who looked after our every need. Had a lovely evening there with my family for food & the staff made us all very welcome & food was delicious. Well done Eoin Daly & team for running such a fab hotel
B. U.
I have mixed thoughts about this Hotel. It is very nice Hotel and showcases the era of its construction well. However the Hotel is also used for weddings ect., which despite the noise that goes on, the ambience is ruined by large crowds and activity. The car park while large quickly fills during one of these events leaving the Hotel guests no where to park. I doubt we would go again. Service was good, polite but not overly friendly.
J. M.
Super stay, great service, comfortable bed, fabulous city view. 100% satisfied
P. B.
Rooms are spacious and disabled walk in shower room very good.
Only problem I know of is they cater for loads of functions at once, so arrived late back on a Saturday night (10:30pm) not a single car park space available, due to 1- hen party, 2- 70th birthday parties and 1- 21st birthday party.
Had to force car into a raised garden area.
Other than that, nice place with friendly staff.
P. S.
Lovely hotel, staff were all very accommodating.
The hotel room was quite large and spacious with beautifully high ceilings.
The food in the restaurant had absolutely no faults, the staff in the restaurant were also very friendly and professional.
I love the outside seating area too.
Very nice hotel!
o. s.
Friendly staff, clean and quiet accomodation trying to cope with social distancing regulations makes it difficult. The main part of the city with great shopping and loads of nice places to eat at, is locatated a short stroll downhill from the hotel, the hard bit is your return walk is uphill. I suggest using a taxi.
S. M.
Beautiful hotel. Stayed two nights. Front 2nd floor room with balcony was a treat. Views over Cork city as far as the eye could see. Will definitely return.
J. B.
Well decorated building. We stayed in one of the rooms at the front of the hotel with a balcony. Peaceful and clean. Pleasant surprise to see a Nespresso machine in the room. Bit of a cock-up on our food order but it was sorted quickly and without any fuss. Food was good - although I was a bit unsure about the taste of the stout and treacle soda bread!
M. B.
Fab hotel.friendly staff & very helpful. Food was superb would highly recommend it
S. T.
It was okay. A little misleading from the information given online, but overall a swell experience.
B. K.
Clean , nice restaurant , friendly staff, definitely going back
G. J.
Fantastic staff!!!
This hotel was purely a pleasure to stay in and in large part this is due to the staff at the hotel. From the management , to restaurant and housekeeping service it was fantastic. The bar staff were amongst the most professional and courteous I have ever come across.
In particular Jason stood out for me who ran the bar like a man beyond his years. Constantly the professional whilst offering entertaining quips but minding his p's & q's . This for me set a fantastic tone and made me along with a number of other guests feel at home.
F. B.
Delicious beef salad, chicken wings and nachos at our table. Super friendly staff 😊
L. H.
A beautiful terraced restaurant perfect for sunny afternoons Service was good, menu was limitef and desserts were dissapointing
J. C.
This is a beautiful hotel, and is worthy of its reputation. The rooms are generous and spotlessly clean, the bar is well stocked and the staff take great pride in their work. The breakfast wasn't great, particularly for my wife who is a vegetarian. Even the cheeses were contaminated by salami and other meat, and there's no veggie sausage etc
A. M.
Beautiful food and wonderful staff. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.
D. 2.
This place was pristine. My fiance and I very much enjoyed this location. Everything about the hotel was of the highest quality. A very friendly and fun staff in the bar. My only concerns with this place was the location. It's not as close to the city center as a map may lead you to believe. And the hills in cork can put you through a pretty nice workout depending on the shape you're in. All things considered, The Ambassador is a wonderful place to stay while in Cork. Also worth mentioning, if you're looking for somewhere to eat in the city, their bar/restaurant has great food and great company.
A. O. D.
Stayed in this hotel occasionally before over the past few years and once again this weekend passed. Hotel keeps getting better. The new bar is v nice. The place in general is charming. The staff are brilliant.
S. B.
Nice, clean room. Friendly staff. The food in the bar was plentiful and very tasty. I'm a huge Liverpool fan and this is where I watched the first leg of the QF vs Man City (3-0!!) And so for that reason I'll always fondly remember this wonderful hotel! Loses a point because the floor manager for the breakfast was as rude as they come.
C. L.
Food is amazing. The staff here is super friendly. We will definitely be back.
C. J.
Loved our stay at the Ambassador Hotel - customer service is at the core of everything they do - sumptuous surroundings in the heart of Cork city - the rooms are spotless and very comfortable. We did not intend to breakfast here but we (and other guests) did, which was easily accommodated. There was a comprehensive evening menu I would recommend booking as the restaurant is deservedly popular, the matre'd and his team ran the restaurant with efficiency while also making customers feel at home. We would definitely stay here again.
A. O.
Lovely bar food and quiet location. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. No pool but adequate gym. Spacious rooms but probably need another chest of drawers for smaller clothing. Nice view over Cork city.
D. L.
The Ambassador Hotel is amazing place to stay The views are amazing. And the staff are also amazing. And management there pull all the stops for you. The The food in a restaurant is amazing. And the staff are excellent as well. I hope to see you again soon.
J. C.
Stayed 2 nights. Room was lovely and big. Very clean. Breakfast in the hotel was lovely. Also had dinner in mcgettigans restaurant in the hotel, staff were very nice and food was delicious
A. G.
Beautiful hotel. Nice atmosphere. Complimentary water (loved this touch as I am always drinking water🙌). Great service room was excellent. Parking on site too which is a major plus, especially in a city. Hope to go back one day 😁
M. M.
Beautiful historic building on the hill overlooking Cork. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and inviting. The restaurant has really good breakfast that can be enjoyed on the terrace. I will be back for my next visit to Cork
A. O. M.
The food is not great. My chips were dry. My pasta had no sauce and my pasta was not properly cooked. On the second night my salad had no lamb sauce! Very plain. Room service was amazing. The bed was very comfy. Tv had channels for everyone.
m. b.
Nice and quiet place for late drink :D if the weather is nice hahah
U. M.
Lovely hotel and only a short stroll from Cork City centre, only downside is having to walk back up the hill on the way back .
But beautiful views and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back
R. G.
That best hotel because they good stuff in there and they got nice food in there so lovely place to go for lunch and dinner
M. V.
Great experience
The hotel is situated very closely to the city centre and has a great terrace. The food is very tasty and service is good. The hotel has been refurbished a while ago, however the rooms would need a bit of improvement. Overall good experience
J. O. R.
Excellent staff especially Alezandra on reception.
C. M.
For the hotels given price point, overall this place is okay. The resturant is amazing and the staff are very kind; however, there we some less than stellar elements. Ths most odd part was that rather than a full shower curtain or door, there was a half panel of glass. This made showing without flooding the bathroom an effort. The hotel was under construction during our stay which wasnt the most appealing; however easily looked past. The most annoying part however was the outside noise (which is out of the hotels control but still annoying). Children could be heard screaming in the streets until 11 am and as the window was the source of cooling, there was little to quell this noise. While most of these things can be overlooked, at the price point, I am unsure if we would return.
B. M.
This was my first visit to Ireland, and I absolutely loved staying at this hotel for the first leg of our journey. The only downside was that it's at the top of a hill, so you'll have to trek back up the hill after going down to explore or just have dinner in the town. The restaurant in the hotel had great food and drinks, and the bookshelves surrounding the dining area gave the whole room an intriguing and sophisticated feel. If/when I return to Cork, I'll likely be staying here again!
J. M. &. F. K.
Fantastic Hotel , great friendly staff , we organised a retirement party here and from start to finish the help we recieved was unbelievable . The General Manager Mr Eoghan Daly and his staff couldnt have done more for us at Mayfield sports complex . The venue the food and the atmosphere was something else . I would highly reccommend this Hotel .
N. M.
The address formerly known as the ambassador hotel the best hotel in all cork city such a beautiful hotel lovely and most friendliest staff and manager owen daly and his amazing team doing such a fantastic and magnificent job there so to people I would say before you think of booking a hotel think address a wonderful place
L. M.
Would highly recommend this beautiful hotel .
Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us .
Rooms were lovely with amazing city views ..
Only one minor issue is there are two steps in bedroom and a small hand rail on the wall would be very beneficial for people with disability
Otherwise I have no complaints
E. M.
Nice food in a comfortable venue
L. V.
Review of restaurant and location only!! Really tasty lunches, wide variety on the menu for a range of prices to suit all kinds of budgets. The portions are great value for money and the location is fab. Easy access, lots of parking spaces and very clean. Helpful, professional and friendly staff make the experience all the more worthwhile. Definitely worth a visit when you're next in Cork.
R. H.
Great night 🌙.....Beautiful place and the Staff are fab 👌....Thanks Eoin Christopher Scott Jack and Donna 👍👍👍👍10 out of 10
C. J.
Very large comfy room nicely decorated. I can recommend the restaurant. I had a delicious steak and service was fine
. The bar area is okay but not very cosy. It's a long way from the city up very steep hill so I would recommend a car otherwise you would need to use a taxi.
S. I.
The hotel is on a giant hill that caused our car to stall before we got there. Hot water went in and out. Only 2-3 working stations on the TV. Wifi went in and out. Paint is peeling, water stains on the ceiling, and there are marks on towel racks.Restaurant took forever to be served. Parking is scarce when arriving late. And a 4 star hotel should have complimentary coffee and water (you need it walking up and down the hill!!) Our key card was deactivated randomly. The walls are SO thin I could hear everything next door.
That being said, the staff is very nice and the building is incredibly pretty.
J. B.
A lovely hotel in a good location. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the function room was beautiful. The vegetarian food we requested for our party arrived mixed in with sausages and other meats, so maybe wouldn't recommend holding an event here if you have lots of vegetarians.
E. C.
Had a wonderful stay at the Ambassador in Cork city.Exceptional staff.great service.excellent food on offer. All staff very helpful and pleasant .Would definately recommend this hotel for leisure or business break. As the hotel is located in a hilly area of the city and with spectacular views overlooking the city and beyond.advise using taxi to access city centre if mobility an issue. Taxis reasonably priced.Well worth a visit
S. K.
Spacious, super clean rooms and nice selection of pillows for a good night's sleep. Classy old building with high ceilings and great views over Cork city. Very friendly and attentive staff. Be sure to dine downstears, the food is great!
T. D.
This is for the hotel only not for the bar/restaurant. I get it, it's an older hotel. The lift is slow and only goes to the 2nd floor you have to take the stairs to get to the 3rd. Rooms were dated but clean, but there were little things that added up to make this three stars. The lights in the room didn't work properly, peeling wallpaper and bubbling paint, cancelling our key cards because they mistakenly had us for one night and not two, having to ask for the heat to be turned on twice. I think if management did a little more inspecting, fixing, touching up and remodeling it would be a 4 star not 3 star.
T. A.
brilliant few days here, nice relaxed atmosphere, great food, good quality rooms and the breakfast is top class.
nice chilled out nights sitting on the decking enjoying a well stocked bar with very friendly and approachable staff.
would recommend this hotel highly and will stay again if im ever in the area.
g. m.
Great room, good price, bed was huge, best bed i have ever had at a hotel. not enough parking, should include breakfast in price, bathroom was wet room but seemed flooded all the time as it couldn't get rid of water. Lift old, room a mile away from entrance but never heard wedding that was being held there
W. R. R.
We stayed for one night. Big room, our bedroom was in the corner and we had a great view of the city centre, comfy bed and nice staff.
They have a nice breakfast too. However, we had lunch at the hotel's restaurant and it wasn't good. My steak sandwich was dry and my banoffi crambule wasn't good either, the sugar on top tasted burned.
Now, my big problem. They have very thin walls which a 4 stars shouldn't have. We couldn't sleep as we had a very noisy neighbours. To have an idea 4am I was in the hotel main hall. They said they couldn't do anything. I'm complaining about the noise itself, because they were having sexy (very loud btw). The thin wall was the problem. They couldn't move us to another room as they were fully booked out.
Fair enough, the manager said we could have the breakfast for free as we hadn't book with it and he refunded a few quid. He was very sound guy and I understand how awkward the situation was.
I didn't have lucky on this. But I expected the hotel having a good isolation between the rooms.
b. c.
Nice hotel out of city centre and perfect if you want a quiet location. Nice bar there and a very good restaurant, particularly good lunch menu. Restaurant staff are VERY nice and helpful. Location is very quiet if that's what you want, and the walk to city centre downhill is very easy, and will take about 15 minutes.
A. C.
I stayed at the Ambassador in June 2013 on a Hen Weekend and they definitely exceeded our expectations. The staff are brilliant, the food was gorgeous and the service was the best. The hen party package was fantastic the was loads of food and champagne. I would definitely highly recommend it to anyone.
G. M. C.
First time in hotel what a lovely place spotless clean food top class staff were friendly more than good at their job views of cork city outstanding grounds well maintained handy 4 everly thing transport shops will stay again
G. G.
Looks like a 4 star when you walk in, however it is far from it. The rooms were definitely lacking. The towel rack had something that looked like mold all over it. After closer inspection it was just some chemical reaction, but looked gross nonetheless. Toilet paper was 1 grade away from being the thinnest possible. Hot water spigot was positioned over the soap dish and would not move. One of the beds had a crater the size of a Volkswagen beetle in it. The TV was in an awkward corner blocked by a floor lamp. Closer looks at the bar area and you would see stains on the cushions and peeling wallpaper. The staff was more than pleasant though. I'd recommend the owners spend some time updating the rooms to go along with the beautiful lobby, restaurant, and exterior.
N. K.
Old-fashioned but nice looking hotel. The plumbing needs replacement, but all in all the hotel has an old-time charm to it. If you come by train, know that it is quite the uphill walk to the hotel!
R. D.
Great place to both relax and party. I stayed here for my birthday and also to attend a wedding later in the week. From arrival we were greeted with a great welcome, beautiful smile and lots of local information.
Our room was superb, city views with a large balcony. This place is sooo cute & a hidden Jem on the north side of the city, just a few mins walk from town.
At the bar we had a few drinks before eating,
AMY In the restaurant was just the most amazing person I have met in a long time. We asked for a recommendation for food and without fail we were dining like King's.
Buffalo wings and sweet potato fries, pizza to share and a lovely bottle of white all went down VERY well. She knows her stuff. A credit to the hotel, and a great ambassador for Cork , I overheard AMY giving local information and advise on where to go and the guest's had a great time when I met them the next day.

This is a really cool old hotel. Totally expecting to be haunted, but that didn't happen :/ maybe next time! :D
The rooms were massive and the bathroom was huge as well. Would definitely come back next time we're in Cork!
L. o. b.
Lovely place, food very nice.
J. N.
Beautiful hotel with its own character. Welcoming staff. Great views. Comfortable room. Great beer selection at the bar. Delicious breakfast
O. F.
This an older hotel with a fresh coat of paint. If you look closely enough there are plenty of little details you could pick out as being not quite finished correctly but this can just as easily be called 'character', overall these are very slight and they really don't build hotels like this anymore, so easily forgiven.
It sits in a beautiful location overlooking Cork City and rates were reasonable.
M. P.
Large rooms with a nice view of the city. Well furnished and clean. A bit of a hike to town (and up a steep hill on the way back), but a good value and a nice place. Service was professional and consistent.
B. R.
Fabulous 3 day stay in the Ambassador Hotel, wonderful staff throughout the hotel, we arrived at reception to a very warm welcome and this level of friendly service continued throughout, from the staff serving the breakfast( under difficult circumstances due to the new Covid 19 regulations) to the happiest housekeeping lady we ever met (you know who you are,), on each evening we ate and drank in McGettigan's Cookhouse and Bar within the hotel, food was excellent, service once again superb, staff were warm, friendly and professional, the hotel is spotless, the manager of the hotel should be very proud of the staff, we would highly recommend the Ambassador Hotel for your stay in Cork, we will be back, hopefully soon, Brian and Ruth
C. B.
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The front desk staff are very friendly. The views of Cork City from our window is absolutely amazing.
M. C.
I absolutely loved this hotel! The hotel rooms are large and well furnished, and the atmosphere of the hotel felt like an upscale, fancy hotel! I would give it six stars if I could...I really enjoyed my stay here.
L. B.
Nice hotel, warm and spacious rooms, large bed, about 15 - 20 minutes walk to the city center. It's located uphill so I would not recommend it to the elderly without a car, and paid breakfast is not really something - though you can order something extra from the menu.
M. S.
Can't say a bad word about this place. Lovely room, helpful and pleasant staff. The food was good. All in all a pleasant stay and I would go back tomorrow .
E. W.
Lovely big hotel rooms. Good quality food in the restaurant. Parking a little limited although I never failed to get a parking space during my stay.
P. B.
Gorgeous old hotel. Food was outstanding, room massive and staff really friendly.
R. E.
Beautiful hotel with clean spacious rooms. Big windows which in the summer provide a nice breeze and lots of light. Blackout curtains keep the room dark while you sleep.
D. C.
Stayed for 2 nights. The staff are extremely friendly. The rooms, while not modern, were spotless. The food is quite good too. Overall a great place too stay
C. L. F.
Fantastic stay with great friendsbfor weekend. Definitely recommend and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Food excellent. Will definitely be back.
M. C.
Our rm wasn't ready when we arrived so we were given another. It was on the 2nd floor right over the dumpster which emitted an oder that filled our rm. Big disappointment! No change of rms. Were available so they said. Dinner service was super slow, thank goodness my wife is beautiful, giving me something to do. Continental breakfast is very average. Needs some improvement. The location and architecture is what brought us to this place.
S. D.
Had a very great stay here at The Ambassador during my trip to Cork! It’s very much up a hill but it’s a short 10min walk to city center and the front desk staff were very nice! I would stay here again the next time I come to Cork!
A. H.
Fantastic stay.
Extremely comfortable bed. Quiet hotel, amazing breakfast and great dinner menu with flavourful seasonal specials.
Will stay again.
D. L.
Food and staff were great. Room not so much was very uncomfortable and very noisy outside. Also our non smoking room was located on same floor as smoking rooms the smell of smoke was very strong
C. H.
Staff are professionally and polite, it can facilitate a number of events including weddings and anniversaries. The building itself is clean and very close to luxurious but lack of frequent upkeep leaves the rating at a 4/5
J. K.
A few kinks could be smoothed out with this good old hotel, however if you can end up with a room that has a balcony on the top of the corner pillars your in for a great stay! Amazing views, huge clings, simply a fun room in a "Hotel on the Hill"
J. L.
Fantastic meal only one fault too cold outside dining
D. A. T.
Good location, 10min walk to city center. Room are large, quiet and clean. Depending on your room, sometime wifi signal is not good. Breakfast choice is poor compared to other 4 stars. Dinner and lunch are ok, but a bit expensive.
P. F.
Absolutely fabulous hotel the breakfast was great and the staff we're very friendly.
B.
Beautiful place to stay with views. City is within walking distance. If traveling with heavy luggage from the train station I recommend taking a cab- it's all up hill.
A. M.
Attended a course here. The room was very nice and food provided was lovely. The hotel itself is beautiful only problem is parking was a bit tight.
J. C.
Impromto but absolutely Great stay in The Address Cork,
D. H.
Came here for dinner with family group. Ordered chicken wings which were nice enough for starters. Then ordered medium ribeye steak for gf and I. Both were rare. Sent them back, both came back well done. Manager apologised for mine but maintained that hers was medium. It was possibly on the medium side of medium well but no less. She ate it to avoid arguing and in fairness she took both steaks off the bill but it was pretty disappointing. The steak itself was average when it finally came back medium for me.
Desert nothing special, basic merengue with a little cream and fruits. Overall it was an average experience and I would not return or recommend.
S. B.
Super clean rooms, very friendly staff! Sauna and gym were clean and equipment up to date. Highly recommend!
M. C.
The hotel has been recently renovated and is much improved. Good location for meetings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Even when very busy.
M. C.
Just lovely

N. C.
Beautiful ambience , staff in Reception and Resurant very friendly.
Well managed . Thank you
P. M.
My wife and I had the best time at this hotel. Breakfast was amazing, we will surely book again when we do visit Ireland again.
l. h. b.
Nice hotel. Finding your room was a little confusing. Didn't like the fact you had to bring a voucher with you for breakfast. Gym tiny.
A. O. c.
Stayed here recently. Fabulous hotel with very comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean and great food.
L. F.
Staff are very friendly here, rooms are lovely and clean, the night porter was very nice, great stories and craic with him, really enjoyed our stay here 😊
C. K.
Great meal for 2 in the cookhouse
M. P.
Very nice, clean hotel, very good customer service, just the heating let it down. You could expect some savings on heating from 50€ B&B, not from a 200€ room per night...
J. H.
Lovely place, good food, nice staff, plenty off parking space, clean and spacious rooms, nice views and peaceful, positioned up a hill if your walking but worth the effort.
G. R.
Fabulous stay at the Ambassador Hotel. Everything was perfect. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good choice of food also.
B. G.
Beautiful food friendly staff and never got a bad meal there highly recommend it and good luck for the future in these uncertain times
M. c.
Had alovely meal and was made feel welcome by staff ..the decking area outside is ideal for us smokers ..prices were very good for a hotel of this standard and yes i will be back
S. M.
We stayed here for 1 night.Rooms where comfortable and quite. If you are looking for a good city hotel, with walking distance to the city center, we can recommend the hotel.
B. L.
I really believe your people are what make your business great, and I continually was met with wonderful people at the Ambassador. Laura, Anthony, Kim, to name a few, made our visit exceptional.
L. F.
Very nice hotel, food lovely, customer service needs to improve though. Surely a customer at the desk takes priority over a phone call.
k. g.
There is always problems when ordering food between the kitchen staff and servers. However the welcome and friendly atmosphere we receive would always have us return.
C. R.
Great Hotel, Food lovely, staff pleasant. Highly recommend
p. l.
Beautiful historic hotel overlooking Cork. Walk to town. Bathrobes, slippers, chocolate on pillows. Friendly staff. Neat Cafe/bar.
R. D.
very nice hotel with traditional touch. Breakfast could have been a little better compared to other 4 stars options.
E. R.
Beautiful hotel and the staff was lovely we stayed in room 207 very big but the tele was very small for the room.
T. C. N.

A. K.
A beautiful, characterfull old hotel, I stayed in room 116, it had an amazing view over the city from a feature bay window.
S. D.
Phenomenal hotel, bar and service, walls were not soundproofed enough for me to justify 5 stars. Can't complain, was amazing.
S. o. d.
Very disappointed with this place went for a meal with my wife ordered a drink at 9.50 pm on the Saturday night and told by staff I must drink my pint in the guest bar as they finish here at 10pm we were never told this when we booked on the Wednesday it spoiled are night won't be going back there again

Really nice hotel. Even with the Covid-19 rules it feels relaxed.
J. L.
Awesome hotel on the hill overlooking Cork. There's walkable food, but the McGettigans restaurant in the hotel is a local favorite and very good.
R. C.
Friendly reception staff and rooms are good quality. Car park could have been a bit larger
C. S.
Lovely building rubbish car park they should let car drivers park on top of smokers half the car park is given over to a smokin area restraunt variable from mediocre to poor bring your own plates or roof tiles or bricks or chip baskets if you prefer smashing rooms though !
P. C.
Love the view. Bar inside the hotel is too also. It's a bit of a hike to the streets and entertainment.

Very good hotel
N. B.
Amazing family hotel
J. C.
A beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location, with a beautiful view.
Inside it’s a maze and difficult to find your room. Once discovered, a disappointing experience as the rooms are basic with basic beds, basic pillows and could be much much better.
I was put in the possible worst room with a view of a wall and a roof.
The gym is in need of a makeover, and Wi-fi is available throughout.
The food is very good with a nice bar and service.
P. H.
