The location of this hotel is simply perfect! Supermarkets are nearby, there's a pub just on the corner of the street (The Cobblestone) and in just a few minutes walk you're in the Temple Bar Area.
Breakfast was amazing every time and staff is very friendly. We could even check in sooner than expected. Rooms are also spacious and beds are comfortable. I only think that the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, but overall our stay at Maldron Hotel Smithfield was great!

Room was nice, bed was great. Restaurant being part of bar didn't make for a nice meal even though food was lovely. People were on top of us standing, drinking and quite loud. Drinks very expensive, €28 for 2 pints and 2 glasses of wine. Staff were pleasant in all aspects

In Dublin for wedding last weekend and stayed for two nights. The staff made us feel so welcome: from Andreas in reception who made sure I did not lose my place in queue and rang up that I left my umbrella; the pleasant waiter from the Philippines who served our dinner; Bruno and the others at the breakfasts; and everyone else for that matter. Just all lovely people working in a foreign country. It was like being part of a family and I thank you all. Your management should be proud of you.

My stay at the hotel has been great. The staff is very kind, especially Ana, at the reception. Thank you very much Ana, you are very professional, your customer service is thoughtful, thorough, and personalised and it only took you a second to resolve a problem I had during my stay. Overall, the hotel is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. It is close to supermarkets and the area is safe.

Great experience at the Maldron hotel Smithfield. Really unexpected quality for a 3 stars hotel. The staff at the reception is super friendly and welcoming. We have tried the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the food is lovely. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean, they gave us the possibility to have a cot for our 18 months old. The only note I would like to give as a piece of advice is that probably some customers could make good use of a small fridge in the room, like us for our baby's milk. But not the end of the world anyway. Very lovely stay.

Clean ,staff were efficient, grand room.Only 1 pillow each .Breakfast looked amazing but sausages were like rubber. All else great

Nice place to stay as a group. We spent 3 nights there. The room on the last floor wasn't as good as the one on the third, due to 2 double beds instead of 1 double 2 single. But it is a nice place to stay at.

Our room was big which I like but there was a problem with our room heating..the radiator was faulty. I called reception 3 times but we didnt get a quick response which took about an hour.. we were freezing.. well thankful after the 3rd call they sent portable radiator. It could have been 4 stars but I was disappointed with theheating.

I stayed in the Maldron for Business over the last few days and I have to say that my stay was excellent and the facilities were perfect. The room was spotless and the location in Dublin City Centre Perfect. The Highlight of my stay was my interactions with a very pleasant Ana, on Reception, who looked after my requests in an utmost professional manner. She was very accommodating and a true professional front house person. Well done to all. I will be back in future and would have absolutely no hesitation i n recommending this property.

Very good 3-star hotel. Rooms are big, clean, well-equipped and with good views. However, there wasn't anything in the bathroom except for soap. I expected at least a comb :( But the experience was great. For its price is recommendable.

Absolutely loved everything about our stay.
Me and my partner got very friendly with one guy inperticular, Bruno!! He works at the bar. He is an absolute gent. Gave my partner a complimentary icecream desert with candles and sang happy birthday to me, i found this very sweet. The other staff were also so kind but he stood out to us. Comfy large room with balcony. Will defo return in the near future 🙂 thank ye so much for a wonderful stay.

Stayed at Maldron Hotel Smithfield last night. Check in was speedy had booked online so this maybe speeded up the process. A warm welcome greeted us. Room was available on arrival. It was spacious room with very comfortable bed. Clean bathroom and shower. Lunch was also sampled had to wait sometime for it to be served. Bread for the sandwiches was somewhat on the stale side however the fillings were very tasty. Breakfast was very tasty and service was very prompt. Staff were very friendly and eager to assist in any way. Andrez the General manager was extremely professional and helpful from check in to check out and during breakfast. Will definitely stay here again. Very convenient for Heuston Station just 2 stops away on the luas tram line. The hotel is situated a mere 2 minute walk from luas stop. City centre only a few stops further on. Looking forward to returning soon.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Took my Mum for Afternoon Tea at the Maldron Hotel Smithfield yesterday, it was delicious and well worth the money, used a Groupon Voucher but still well worth the full price, our server was a very pleasant and helpful man from the Philippines. The only issue I had was the Manager asking me during the afternoon tea for the groupon voucher code which was on the paperwork given to the server earlier and supplied in the emailed when making the booking some weeks prior. I felt under pressure to look for the code during the afternoon tea which as a tad annoying therefore only 4 stars given.

Afternoon Tea is delicious. Everything was so fresh and flavoursome and beautifully presented. With a choice of tea or your preferred type of coffee. Very gentle pleasant staff.

I spent two nights there and it was a really good.
Despte my beng alone, I had a big room.
Everyone is kind, helping and welcoming.
I really liked the breakfast (great plate) and diner too.
I'm French and my English is a bit rusty but everyone spoke slowly and helped me.
You can go there with your eyes closed.

We had a pleasant stay at Maldron hotel Smitfield. We had stayed for a week from 21st of November til 27th of Novembrr. The room was clean, the staffs were friendly n helpful. We were group of teachers from Netherhand. Great locaton, bus stop and tLuas tram iisonly 300m and city centre is a walking distance.
M. M.
Location: fantastic, a stones throw from luas, eateries, playgrounds, shops and a short walk to city centre.
Rooms: totally acceptable, overly warm at night, cheap toiletries, minimal towels.
Food: cheap and unimaginative. Sausages were the only crowd pleaser
Staff: Lovely, run of their feet, trying to do everything and keep everyone happy.
Price: for what we paid it was perfect!

The hotel was really clean and comfortable, and the staff were really lovely- especially the one woman managing our breakfast and rushing around! However, the way the room was structured and the curtains were hung meant that as soon as the sun rose, there was light coming in through a gap directly onto the bed. This made for a less than restful morning on what was supposed to be a luxurious stay. I would have also liked to see water in the room, and maybe a couple of biscuits! But overall a great stay.
B. B.
Beautiful place, well kept, centrally located. Within walking distance of main shopping areas, city centre, luas & train. Lovely staff..
M. K.
A beautiful, clean and pleasent place in the heart of Dublin. Very helpful staff and managers. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. Open Wi-fi, no problem with the internet connection.
L. S.
Great experience for a 3-star hotel. Location also super, all main city sights within a walking distance.
I. B.
Good place, so clean, Anna's the receptionist so kind!!! The room very comfortable and big.

Lovely staff, great food and nice rooms would definitely recommend

Lovely staff
Nice hotel
Everything was fine
Tram Station is just 5 minutes from the hotel
Would recommend it :)
M. L.
Nice stay. Reasonably priced. Family of 4. 2 kids 7 and 9. Air conditioning would have been great as it was very warm. Breakfast was nice. Staff very attentive.
D. T.
Clean. Welcoming. Guest friendly. Beautiful establishment in the midle of Dublin, you might say.
F. R.
The only fault was a very bad mattress.. worn out.. otherwise a great hotel an exceptionally clean..

We were there for one night. Covid compliance was excellent, staff wore masks at all times and there were hand sanitizers. location is great, it’s very central. I’d highly recommend staying in Maldron Hotel Smithfield for any trip to Dublin.

Great hotel! Great staff esp in the dining area :)
L. M.
Hotel in great central location. Had a large room on the 6th floor with a balcony. It was ideal for us and our 2 kids.

Took my friend in today for afternoon tea it was absolutely amazing staff couldn't do enough for us thank you for a great afternoon the food was amazing I will certainly be back
A. G.
Maldron is my favourite hotel. Nice and clean and staff are ever so friendly.
P. S.
I had just been left out of my flight home while doing a transition in Dublin, I had never been to Dublin and had nowhere to stay the night. Giada was the lady that helped me with the stay at Maldron, very helpful and such a nice person. Very good quality of a hotel as well.
S. C. O.
Excellent hotel and staff were polite friendly and very helpful!

The Maldron Smithfield is an amazing hotel with outstanding staff who go above and beyond their duties to help make your stay a wonderful experience and everything is always done with a smile. This is why we only choose the Maldron Hotel Smithfield when we stay in Dublin. We always look forward to our return.
M. O.
general experience good .location good.Reception was dissorganised. They.could not find my booking.then on leaving was asked to pay for the meal which was part of deal, Dinner was a disaster. We asked what soup was.Told it was potato and leek but arrived out with tomato soup.no offer to change it.However on the upside breakfast was excellent served by a helplful and friendly waitress..

We was made very welcome on arrival. Found room very clean and fresh. Breakfast menue excellent..if staying in dublin again would certainly book the maldron. 👍
c. k.
Had a nice 3 night stay, breakfast was superb, comfortable beds (2 person room), bathroom with an actual bath. Staff was polite but basic in interactions. Heater in the room was busted so it was always very warm, fixed easily by keeping the window open at night. All by all a nice stay.
S. C.
Average stay and average food. Staff helpful and friendly but drink orders messed up majority of time. Good location and price fair enough.
T. O. N.
Hotel was lovely and clean the staff were lovely our only complain was we assumed the parking out front was for hotel users and this morning we had to pay 80 to remove a clamp no where was it stateed it wasn't and no member of staff asked us where we parked it would have been very helpful if we'd known as I assume we're not the first people to get caught
m. g.
the maldron hotel is the best one ! the manager specially- MS (GIADA and ANA) they used to support and helped me at any time with big hospitality and respect .

The bed was like sleeping on clouds, or so I imagine what sleeping on clouds is like. Close to the luay so easy to get in to Dublin and good area for food and drinks
E. M.
Lovely hotel. Great for families.
L. F.
Friendly helpful staff. Nice clean rooms. Conveniently located.
H. L.
This hotel is in a really nice area of Dublin with the top tourist’s spots well within walking distance.
Our four Executive King rooms were very clean and comfortable, had very good views of the city and were quiet at night.
We did experience one or two issues during our stay (none of which had anything to do with the top standards of the Maldron, Smithfield). However, Manager, George, attended to each of them personally and in a timely and professional manner - well done George!
We would recommend this hotel and happily return.
N. U.
Pretty decent, the staff are very nice and the hotel is pretty central. Also, the breakfast is really good. Bathroom could have some more stuff inside tbh and the double room weirdly enough had one big and one small bed.
T. S.
Fine! Decent if not fancy hotel.
A. F.
We stayed at the Maldron hotel for 3 nights and ate breakfast 3 times. The room itself was nicely furnished and the little balcony was an added extra. The beds were good although not quite perfect. Our room had a tap which was somewhat loose but besides that the condition of the room was well kept. The staff were helpful and pretty friendly. Housekeeping did a good job. While the WiFi signal dropped out at times, it was stable most of the stay and was pretty speedy too.
One problem we had was due to a noisy stranger who was knocking on the door for what seemed like a long time. He eventually managed to get the hotel staff to help him but in the process he did disturb our night's sleep (the staff investigated the situation for us and were aware of something happening in the adjacent room). If something like that happens again I will ring the reception staff to make them aware that other guests are being noisy. With a little extra work in fixing the little room problems we found this could easily be closer to getting a 5 star review.
M. S.
Good hotel for the price. Room was comfortable and quiet despite being beside the elevator. The pipes did rattle in the morning as the heating came on. It didn't bother me particularly, however.
Also the room I stayed in had quite a low shower head. It would have benefited from a shower suitable for someone over 5 foot tall. It was an accessible room, however, so I cannot vouch for other rooms in the hotel.
Parking is easy to access - it is a public car park but has a dedicated entrance to the hotel. Confusing at first - make sure to find the right parking area for the hotel or you could receive a fine.
P. J.
I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are a bit generic (think Travelodge but spotlessly clean). Breakfast was very good though and the staff super-friendly. The area is 'colourful' and I probably wouldn't wander around on my own at night much. Very handy for the Jameson distillery.
S. R.
Great spot with great localbars and restaurants. Temple bar is a short wall
S. S.
Housekeeping and dining room staff attentive and friendly. Front of house staff very helpful. There was one morning where no hot breakfast was supplied, but that was the day it must have been difficult for deliveries and staff to get in to the hotel. Weather advisories didn't impede other services - hotel warm and welcoming throughout.
j. a.
Excellent staff we had afternoon tea is was lovely and plenty of food for us will be back again
H. C.
Not bad. Nice staff. I'd imagine it would be very noisy to have a room beside the main square. Especially in the summer if people were drinking outside.
T. N.
Room seem to be empty. Individually wrapped paper cups with a stirer and toilet rolls seem like a very sterile place. Staff didn't greet me, didn't offer assistance either but kept doing something on a cputer
e. g.
Nothing to criticise about this hotel. It was clean, the staff were friendly and reception kindly helped me with printing our boarding cards for return flight. Beds comfy, shower good. The location was fine - nice and quiet but close to city centre so we were able to walk nearly everywhere. Would recommend it to friends.
We didn't use the restaurant but the menu looked nice.

We stayed here in the Cooper Suite, it was a lovely place to stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was very clean. The suite was very spacious with a great view of the city from the balcony. The decor throughout the hotel was really nice. The breakfast had a great selection of continental and Irish breakfast foods. The only fault I would have with the hotel was the room was extremely warm. Overall though we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.
A. F.
Overall very good experience here and would stay again. My only remark would be that at breakfast, things seemed disorganised. They kept running out of things like plates or juice. This could have been the time we went (breakfast is 7am to 10am. We got there at 9am). Food was nice and the staff were lovely and accommodating. If possible, pay extra for a balcony view room, on a clear day you get a spectacular view of the city and skyline :)
N. A.
We had a great triple occupancy room over St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel, even for a rowdy weekend, was pleasantly quiet. Being steps away from the Jameson Distillery was a great perk. Also nice to have a grocery store next door! Would definitely stay there again the next time we’re in Dublin!
T. R.
Nice conveniently located hotel with comfortable and spacious rooms
O. A.
Nice experience as I was new in the city. The staff are very helpful and homely. Was also quite impressed with the descriptions/instructions given in the different parts of the room for proper usage of their facilities. Liked the location. Good hotel for tourists.
S. W.
It's a little tough to write a review for this hotel having not stayed in a hotel in Europe before, but these are at least my general observations. The hotel staff when I arrived was a little strange, but that didn't affect the process at all. The hotel room was clean other than the hair on the shower walls. There was a lack of towels and toiletries present in the room, but enough to get by. The bed (in a double room) was far from luxurious, but was adequate for short rests between adventures. The TV didn't support the resolution of the channels (video was off the screen on the sides). Ultimately, location is why we choose this hotel. The location was amazing, being just a short distance to Jameson, and within reasonable distances to most major attractions. That alone made the hotel worth it.
S. J.
A nice stay. Staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was very warm and they found a fan for us. The only reason I can't give it a full 5 star review was due to the cleanliness of the room. When we arrived there was make up on the tiles in the bath room and a hairpin down the loo. Other than that it was nice and in a very nice area which was convenient for us to access the majority of things we wanted to do in the centre of Dublin
a. r.
lovely manager and staff, very accommodating, walked us through the whole booking process, would stay again
C. X.
We stayed at the hotel from 8.8.16 until 13.8.16 and we think the hotel was great! The room's size was just right (3 -bed room), it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff was always nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal to explore Dublin, there's a bus station and a tram station just a few steps away. We highly recommend this hotel and we'd visit again anytime. It was a great experience!
J. S.
The hotel was nicely situated in the Smithfield area, near the Jameson's Distillery. It was only a short walk to the bottom of the street and the bridges crossing the River Liffey. We didn't need to use public transport as we found everything we wanted to see on our two day break was within walking distance of the hotel. Rooms were very clean, tea/coffee making facilities and ironing equipment included. Beds were so comfortable, too. A smooth and easy check in/check out process. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, providing maps of the City and directions to main attractions. Upon checking out, we were able to stow our luggage in a room behind reception as we had a late flight home. Staff booked us a taxi for our return trip to airport and served us with refreshments while we awaited its arrival. I'd definitely recommend this hotel - we wish we'd had more time as we would have liked to have stayed in the hotel for a meal one night. Maybe next time....... I hope!
J. P.
Helpful, friendly staff. Our room was 117, above the outside smoking area and next to the Fresh supermarket. The reception offered to change our room or supply a fan, enabling us to keep the window closed, (which by the way could do with a clean outside). We were happy with this, except for early morning noisy deliveries to Fresh. The maid service was below average, missing towels and milk not replenished, bed not properly made on occasion. We only had one meal in the restaurant, which was excellent, served by friendly staff. A strange performance to boil the kettle, moving it from the cupboard to the desk to plug it in, as the original equipment was missing. A drink making unit on the desk would be better. I am sorry but I would not recommend this hotel as it is a long walk to anywhere except Jameson, although the hop-on bus stops there.
I. O.
Overall, nice size room, friendly staff, quiet area right next to grocery store and pubs. The doors are quite heavy and when people close them at night it is a little disturbing to your sleep. Also having to have a room key to use the elevator was a little annoying but overall a good safety measure. Happy with our stay and would stay there again. Surprised no little travel size goodies like hand lotion and hair conditioner. No biggie though. The front desk staff are very helpful for directions and whatever you need. They locked up our bags as we had a late flight the day of checkout. Nice.
J. C.
Very convenient spot for access to City Centre locations. Great breakfast selection and comfortable room. Had to shorten stay at short notice and was very well managed by the team on the front desk.
E. M.
Regarding my room - huge, very clean, modern, comfortable beds, big window overlooking a quiet area, big bathroom, ordered a twin room but got a double and a single bed. Slept very well. Hotel near Luas Line and restaurants nearby and comfortable walk to slap bang in city centre. Had breakfast, was good, fry was non greasy which I had. Hotel smaller than expected but that isn't a bad thing at all.
H. R.
Rooms clean and tidy staff very friendly
J. P.
The rooms themselves are fairly decent but a few things to just know. First the rooms do not have opening windows that actually allow ventilation. I stayed 3 nights and woke up sweating insanely each night with no way to regulate the room temperature. Secondly the parking garage is completely serprate yet physically connected. It was a little confusing and desk staff didn't make that clear.
On the plus side it's a great location and there is a grocery store and great pubs right next to it.
C. L.
The hotel was a good location for my purpose, it was clean and well presented throughout. Staff were attentive when speaking to them. I was in room 209 and my only criticism is this rooms location, directly opposite the lifts, also there is a gym very nearby as I could hear the treadmill going late at night and early in the morning...
J. W.
I stayed at the Maldron Smithfield. The staff was very helpful. I hadn't been there before, they were helpful in telling how to get somewhere and looking it up. I was on Vacation. And is in walking distance to a lot of things. I had booked in advance and they provided me with a fan due to no air condition but I knew that going in. Housekeeping check with you every morning. They made my stay warm and welcoming. The breakfast bar was very good. And there is a Market right next door that stays open til 10:00pm. Went there every day. they have good pastries. My room was on the second floor, very spacious an quiet. I would recommend this hotel for anyone.
G. P.
The hotel is very near the Jameson Distillery and there are many good cafes, restaurants and a few night life options in the area (Token and Index are my favorites).
It's a good 3-star hotel in a quiet area. My experience was very pleasant and although I live in Dublin now, I had family staying over there and would stay again without a doubt!
M. M.
My visit left me feeling very dissatisfied overall. While staff were friendly and courteous, the lack of attention to detail was disappointing and off putting. The room was compact, stuffy and dusty. A layer of dust for example was clearly visible along the top of the bedside light. Throw cushions on beds seemed worn and used, and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The dining room was especially disappointing. Tables were not cleaned off after diners finished. It is not a nice experience to sit surrounded by other guests' mess. It might the useful to a) roster additional staff for busy times in the dining room, 2) train staff properly, and 3) advise them not to use mobile phones while on duty and to prioritise dining room duties.
P. L.
Had a one night stay here late last month. Overall it was pretty good. Nice location within easy reach of the city centre and a sensible taxi ride from the airport. The room was comfortable and well decorated. Staff were pleasant (considering I arrived after 11pm). As I haven't said anything bad I'm wondering why I haven't gone for 5 stars. I think the answer is that a lack of complaint isn't the same as being impressed. I'll go there again no doubt as it's close to a work location, but if I ended up somewhere else I wouldn't be too worried.
M. W.
My 11 year old son and I had a wonderful nights stay at the Smithfield Maldron. It is very close to the Luas and easy to find. It is in a really quiet spot, so we had a great nights sleep. There is a cinema and lovely pizza house just next door which was just the icing on the cake as far as my 11 year old was concerned.
The staff were delightful. We arrived early and were upgraded to a balcony room as that was all that was available at that time! I thought we would have to leave our bags and come back later, so it was brilliant to be accommodated so thoughtfully!
The room was clean and bright, with nice furnishings. We had a double bed and a single bed in our room, both of which were very comfortable. The room was spacious, and my son enjoyed using the wifi and the safe!!
Breakfast was included in our price and that was nicely presented. There was a good choice of both hot and cold, and lovely fruits available too.
We were in Dublin for the day and the staff allowed us to leave our luggage in their left luggage room when we checked out, which again was very helpful.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and its staff, and indeed already have. I felt it was excellent value for money, and thanks for a really enjoyable stay.
M. E. C.
Nice place to stay and the service was great. Their rooms are a bit beaten up (It literally looked like someone had tried to smash our bathroom) and their cleaning could be better. Breakfast was a bit boring and refills didn't come up as quickly and plates weren't clean and it took them forever to clean a table at breakfast. But I overall enjoyed my stay..
E. O.
Once they found my booking it was great. Quite far from the centre for walking but still close to a lot. Lovely large rooms and staff are lovely. Can have pizza delivered to room too
B. M.
It the best hotel food top notch 🥰🥰
D. B.
Check in was great. The parking is a confusing venture. When we were leaving on the last day we could not get out of the parking lot. The machine would not take a credit card, and it would not accept more that a 20euro bill. So I had to leave my car at the exit gate and run back to the front desk of the hotel to get change to then pay the machine.
Breakfast was good.
The room was extremely hot at night. The thermostat did not appear to be working as it had a blank screen.
Good location for food and drinks.
E. M.
Room was a but warm but very comfortable. Could do with more accessible plugs beside beds. USB ports in desk sockets weren't working. Shower and bathroom very clean, good powerful shower too. I expected adequate food but was nicely surprised. Lasagne for dinner was excellent and full breakfast was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful.
E. M.
Great place to stay. Rooms are comfortable and staff is nice. Plenty of food options nearby. In a quiet area but not far from the heart of Dublin. Anything you will want to see will basically be within walking distance.
Y. C.
Nice quiet hotel, staff nice and polite. I would stay here again😁
M. N.
The standard is very good, staff attentive, welcoming and helpful. Clean, warm and quiet room. The only downsaid was breakfast buffet (a bit off the hotel's standard, not very warm and not much variety). Great location, walking distance to centre and public transport. Nice stay, we recommend it
E. A.
My stay in your hotel in Smithfield was fabulous! Really nice room and with a great view because the receptionist told us they gave us a free upgrade to a balcony room which was wonderful ! Comfy bed , very clean and neat , I felt at home there , they made us feel very welcome ! The breakfast buffet was the best spread I've ever experienced in any hotel! So much choice and you can help yourself to it , and no queuing which is a big bonus! Will defiantly be back !
A. h.
Lovely staff and very clean rooms. The bed was very comfy.
M. S.
Stylish and clean rooms. Good hotel for the price. The rooms are lacking a minibar though. Nice suites, but with different room layouts.
J. M.
Great, central location (across the street from the Jameson distillery, close to a good pub and next to a grocery). The staff were nice and the rooms were fine with little quirks like a creeky bathroom floor and aome strange smells.
C. D.
The rooms are very well decorated, clean and the location is great. The car-park is ideal but the increased charge of 2 euro (12 from 10) perhaps could have been offset by the hotel.
The rooms are very comfortable and the WiFi and TV services good. Staff are friendly and efficient.
Stir restaurant is great for breakfast with so many healthy alternatives to the Irish fry-up. Their traditional porridge is almost too scrumptious for Goldilocks! Fresh honey makes the perfect accompaniment.
Machine coffee as you like it is always much nicer than the pot of pour-on coffee. A great start to a day in Dublin!
A. B.
Only had lunch with a large group. Didn't stay over. Waiting staff very good. My goat's cheese salad had no goats cheese and instead had parma ham which was unmentioned on the menu; just as well I'm not still a vegetarian and very inadvisable when all food information must be published.
H. K.
I like it maybe new my job maldron :)
S. R.
Staff is good. The rooms have only heaters, no air conditioner to bring the heat down during the hot days. We have been here for almost 2 weeks, but they do not seem to change the linen, hence we will have to ask them explicitly to change. For a short stay it wouldn’t have mattered much. However the room is serviced daily. Wifi is available all around the hotel.
The location is also very good as Fresh and other restaurants are available close by, besides the famous Jameson Whiskey Distillery just across.
The breakfast buffet has the basic English / Irish Breakfast with walnuts, sunflower and cranberry.
S. M.
We enjoyed our four five stay at the Maldron Hotel Smithfield. Rooms were comfortable and clean (and quiet). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very good. The tram is just a minutes walk and center city was about a 20 minute walk.
M. B.
The stay was decent. A few things i would have to say were not to my satisfaction were there was only 1 bath towel in the room. I stayed for 2 nights and had to call three times for more. Also at 7am in the morning with the do not disturb card on the door the house keeping just walked right in and woke me up. Kind of ruined my day. Why they aren't reading the signs on the doors and why they barge in that early in the morning was rude. I think they need to have chains installed inside the rooms for cases like this.
R. L. L.
For the cost of the hotel, the installations could be better. In our room, the window couldn't be closed, and after telling at the desk, they made a repair but then it couldn't be opened. The weather in those days was really hot and with no window and no air conditioned, it was very uncomfortable.
I would recommend a better cleaning of the room and improve the maintenance. The door of the bathroom had scratches and the furniture was very damaged. That makes a bad impression.
J. M.
Good location, attentive and polite staff, decent room and breakfast. However, couldn't believe that teaspoons were not provided for breakfast. When I asked for one I was told I needed to use my dessert spoon to stir my coffee as teaspoons no longer provided due to guests stealing them!!! Dessert spoon too big for narrow bottomed coffee mug so had to use handle. Really not ideal and, to be honest, poor show in my opinion. Ridiculous!!!
L. D.
The hotel was clean and in a quiet location. All of the staff were very friendly, they had an answer for every queirie and also gave us good recommendations on pubs, restaurants and things to do during our stay. The location of the hotel was great, only a couple of tram stops/bus stops away from the center of Dublin which was very convenient. Overall our stay at the maldron hotel was really good! Would come back here again.

I've stayed in the hotel a couple of times prior to this. Overall the experience each time was good. The room is clean, quite and the breakfast very good. However the TV is poor quality and the picture reception is awful. This has been the case each time I stayed and it isn't a tuning issue as far as I can tell. WIFI wasn't that good either.
M. W.
First, let me compliment your staff. When we decided to extend our stay for a day, they bent over backwards to find another room (the junior suite we had wasn't available); make it up to accommodate our 2 children and move our stuff while we were out for the day. They were also consistently helpful and friendly every time we interacted with them
The only reason that we are not giving it a 5 is that there are some maintenance issues -- the bathroom doors in both rooms were kind of beat up, and there was a light sort of dangling from the hallway ceiling fixture in one of our rooms. But overall, we enjoyed our stay - and the excellent location.
D. M.
The room was just perfect and very comfortable. I was also very impressed by the friendly staff, especially the restaurant staff. I loved the breakfast selection as well. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
P. R.
We were hosted in the Copper suite. Nice views of Dublin, two big comfortable beds and a small but nice terrace over Smithfield square. 20 minutes walking to Temple Bar. Although it has no park, there is one very near. Friendly staff. Nice night.Thank you!
B. K.
Excellent hotel, very comfortable and spotless, the staff were helpful and the location is ideal. It is on the Luas line which makes it very accessible. I would definitely recommend and return to this hotel.
d. r.
Great Value for money.Over night staying or just the weekend then drop into this great hotel.Friendly staff and services on offer.
Rooms are equipped with all amenities and warm with excellent cleaning service to detail you won't be disappointed with your stay here.Located in smithfield Dublin City You'll be just across the road from
Jameson distillery & 15 minutes from Guinness.
C. W.
The location is excellent, the rooms are clean with modern comfortability and the staff were very helpful. I also noticed that the breakfast area has been redesigned and it makes a great difference. I loved my stay here.
S. F.
This hotel is in an excellent location, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. There are also excellent amenities close by. I would highly recommend a stay here and would definitely stay here again.
L. S.
Nice, clean hotel! Our room was nice, could've done with a few DIY bits doing tho. Little things such as handle on balcony door was about ready to fall off, net curtain rail was very wobbly and some large black marks on the wall that could've done with a lick of paint to cover them. To us the few DIY bits were very small and relatively insignificant so did not impact our experience or stay. We still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed was really comfortable, couldn't fault the quality of the mattress. Although unfortunately we had a rip in the duvet cover, it wasn't huge but it was off putting to see the duvet itself sticking out of it right where it would've been under my chin. Instead of making a fuss we just put that end to the bottom of the bed. Again something so small it did not impact our stay. All members of staff were lovely, all greeted us with a smile no matter the time of day. That's what truly counts, as long as a room is nice and clean it's the attitude and friendliness of the staff that makes the difference. Breakfast is second to non, plenty to choose from and all hot food is cooked to perfection. The pastries are lovely and fresh as well. Breakfast is well worth it's money, the restaurant is furbished really nicely as well. All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Maldron Smithfield and will definitely recommend.
M. H.
The best hotel we stayed in during our time in Ireland. Great room, nice view, good food. It was very close to all the major attractions as well as a tram line. Would definitely stay here again!
K. D.
We had a room with balcony, it smelt of cigarette smoke throughout the two night stay. The room was also hot without a visiable thermostat. The hotel is in a great location though. The staff polite.
S. A.
a nice place to stay in but need to enhance the cleaning services. the house keeping didn't use to clean the dirty cups in the room.
the staff at the reception were very helpful and friendly :)
C. O. N.
Overall good experience. Nice rooms, well equipped. Some staff were lovely, some a little rude. Rooms were very warm so I requested a fan on both trips. Very convenient location.
J. C.
The hotel is a little gem in Smithfield, the staff are lovely and very helpful, the rooms with balconies are really comfortable, the last time we stayed there we chose a junior suite which was fantastic value, many thanks to all.
T. M.
2 nights in Dublin
Spent our first 2 nights in Ireland here. Hotel was close to city center about a 10-15 minute walk. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of fruit, pastries and hot food. Room was clean and modern.
P. A.
Expected a bit better for the price. Good location, staff was very approachable and assisted with all my queries.
L. O. D.
I stayed in room #600. The room was very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable.
Unfortunately the shower head in the bathroom was broken. Water came from the head but also from the pipe and was spraying across the ceiling and onto the floor. This was very irritating and a little dangerous as I tried to get out of the bath.
A. T.
From our initial enquiry 2 days prior to the Bank Holiday weekend (for accomodation up to the weekend) through to our late check-out and unusual request for a fan to cool our overheated room, the staff were totally professional, accomodating, friendly and helpful, they really could not have done more for us. The room was lovely and very comfortable. We would certainly stay here again and will recommend this hotel.
K. R.
Had a great stay for our 4 nights in Dublin. The staff are so helpful and will assist in any way possible. The rooms are very clean and housekeeping came in every day, in a good location if you want to stay away from the hussle and bussle of the city centre
D. W.
Had a good experience staying here. Room was very comfortable and clean. We were staying with teenagers for a concert and ordered food when we returned. As you don't provide food we had to order in. Perhaps you could source a different company to get takeaways from as the food was atrocious.
J. M.
Beautiful hotel with great rooms and bar
B. S.
We were grateful to check in early after our long flight from Australia. Room was comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. Location was a ten minute light rail ride to city centre.
T. J.
Standard hotel room, nothing special or unique. You stay here mainly for the location, but anywhere that serves Irish breakfast in the morning is a plus. Overall a great place to stay, just not spectacular.
m. c.
Stayed here on a visit to Dublin. Loved it. Very clean and tidy. Brilliant staff, nothing was too much trouble, and the breakfast was very good loads of variety and catered for everyone's needs
a. C.
Nice friendly and clean hotel. Everything we needed only down side was the food. We didn't have breakfast but had an evening meal that wasn't very nice, very basic.
M. C.
Had the pleasure of staying in Maldron Smithfield last Friday night (14th Oct) and was very impressed. Received a lovely warm welcome at reception and all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Our room was fab with lovely views overy the city and spotlessly clean. Hotel is in a great location for access to city centre and easy to get too. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
S. B.
Great location with plenty of amenities nearby. The rooms are generous and staff were quite helpful.
C.
Very clean room
Good service
Would definitely go back again
M. M.
I have stayed at the Smithfield Maldron a couple of times. A small but good standard hotel. Great location for accessing city centre area and north and south suburbs. Safe underground car park nearby. Buffet breakfast is always fresh and has a good selection of traditional Irish fair and good continental options. Great place to stay for business or to bring the family along. Staff go out of their way to help you. Only complaint about this hotel is that the swipe card key can sometimes be a bit fiddly.
R. M.
Room was fine though shower leaked and left a rather large puddle on the floor - had to dry it up with towels. I had steak for dinner - unfortunately this was overdone, and the onion rings weren't great (were they frozen?). Lucas was a short walk away which was handy.
M.
Just had afternoon tea it was very nice
a. j.
Its clean and tidy , comfortable bed , nice breakfast , So I like it and will back again next time .... But the bath did not work correctly and the heating did not work ,,,,, but anyway I like it and I hope you fix these things next time . thanks
M. S.
A super nice hotel . Clean friendly and nice rooms... balcony very small but ok to stand put and look around.
It's a shame about the homeless peoples that sleep rough... Hoping the police would move THEM on .
It's the only bad I can say xx
r. s.
Was 10min walk from main shopping centre or 2 tram stops was nice hotel & right .next to a fresh which is enormous & wide selection of food at very cheap prices. The female receptionists at hotel was so friendly & helpfull & always cheerful made u fell good.
R. W.
We stayed three nights at the Maldron in Smithfield on our first visit to Dublin and Ireland. The hotel location is central, but not downtown busy. To get to the city centre and districts, there is an easy walk of 10-15 minutes, or you might as well take the tram ("LUAS") which is also easy and quick with frequent traffic. Service level at front desk and reception was very good, and all smiles. Breakfast was ok, dinner at hotel maybe not very inspiring.
N.
Clean well priced hotel in a not too noisy/populated spot in Dublin. Very close by to multiple pubs and the city center. Right across the street from Jameson Distillery as well. There is also a grocery strore next door so you can stock up on supplies.
b. j.
All staff personnel were pleasant and helpful. Facility eating menu was very good. Maid service every day could have had sheets changed more often.
N. M.
We stayed here last night as a last minute thing, as we entered the hotel we were met by a lovely lady called Sofia on reception we asked would she have a room for 3 people as she checked the computer another guy arrived & i can't remember he's name but he was super also, he organised a room for us at a brilliant rate & said he'd upgrade us to a junior suite with a balcony. Told us how to sort the parking as the hotel doesn't have their own parking & where to get the luas to city centre. This morning at breakfast all the girls were brilliant. Well done Maldron ye should be very proud of all of your staff. We will return hopefully in the future.
Noreen Owen & Evan Mulcahy
K. H.
Great staff nice hotel. No air conditioning. But it was a very hot night when I stayed
E. M.
In a great location, nice rooms but would suggest getting a suite, no air conditioning and very little at the bar in the line of drinks also they dont do cocktails.. Would recommend if staying for one night or for a shopping trip, luas very close by.
E. D.
We had a beautiful room perfect for a girlie get away, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel was so accessible and close to the city centre- definitely would recommend it and go back.
S. E.
I found the Maldron Hotel beautiful, spotlessly clean within a fantastic location to shops etc. The reason for our trip was Ed Sheerin playing @ phoenix park. Before finalising the booking I contacted them via telephone to ensure the walk from the Hotel to phoenix park was infact 15mins. (Information stated in hotel advertising). Staff assured me this was accurate so i confirmed booking. After leaving the hotel with 30mins to spare for the concert we began the 15mins walk to Phoenix Park...true to their word, 15mins into the walk we found ourselves at the ENTRANCE of Phoenix Park!!
However, the hotel failed to inform us that there was a lengthy walk uphill to the actual sight in Phoenix Park where concerts are set up...taxi's etc cannot drive pass a certain point due to road closures..
Now i wouldn't expect the hotel to provide this information on their advertising.
I do, however, put responsiblity at their front door in this instance due to the call I placed to them BEFORE BOOKING! I repeatedly told them i was unable to walk any long distance due to an ankle injury. Staff continously reassured me it was 15mins walk from their hotel to Phoenix Park (again accurate & truthful)..
As a result of this information not being supplied, we missed the back up acts for Ed Sheerin.
The concert was amazing, however my experience was spoilt by pain.
The next morning as i predicted i was in unbearable pain with a drive to Derry ahead of me as a driver
I can not fault all other aspects of the hotel..it was fantastic..ideal for a weekend in Dublin shopping etc however, i feel i was mislead by staff in order to secure a booking, leaving me very angry & disappointed.

Hi. We wish to acknowledge in particular the assistance of the receptionist Mr. Markus who let us to keep at the hotel two suitcaseswich we did not have room for in our car. This has contributed to us a lot and we were able to travel your lovely country for 8 days, comfortably and without problem of space in the car.
C. M.
Nice hotel, clean, staff always happy to help, good food....
Only thing i feel is a negative is the coffee machine, it just does not get up to temperature, so what is supposed to be a hot drink is actually warm, and the coffee is of poor quality, shame as the breakfast is very good, well done Chef...
E. E.
Horrible horrible hotel! Lied to us about the complimentary breakfast and was extremely rude about this. Pretty much a Holliday inn express averaged food but worse. Y’all should be ashamed. The manager then told me off about it not nice
D. W.
Very nice rooms. Decent breakfast. Room was warm as it doesn't have A/C and Ireland was having a record heat wave.
M. O.
Clean friendly hotel though every time I visit there is an issue accessing the wifi on my laptop. The reception staff did help with that but I dont have this issue at other hotels.
Residents bar does not seem to be open very late
C. E.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good free wifi connection, and easy 10 minute walk to Temple Bar and O'Connell Street. Our only complain was that the room was a little bit hot.
F. S.
We were transferred to this hotel from the other Maldron on Pearse which had experienced some sort of flood. We stayed one night at Smithfield and back to Pearse the next day. Our rooms were great and "Oscar's" restaurant nearby was perfect!
Upon return to Maldron on Pearse our rooms were upgraded.
B. P.
Had afternoon tea with the ladies stayed for drinks lovely day
k. b.
We really enjoyed our stay
Here.staff are lovely here.
From check in to dinning.
Great breakfast
C. Z.
I stayed for 1 night in the standard room. A good and comfortable bed, nice terrace. The service was pretty good and friendly attendant.
S. Z.
Good location and decent hotel. Buffet breakfast and standard rooms. Has everything one might need when staying in hotel.
I. E.
Lovely clean hotel had a great stay
..only things I would fault is I found the room bit cold during the night...Also I parked at the hotel in the parking area right outside the front doors thinking it was the hotel parking area but I discovered I was clamped next morning..had to pay €80 fine..I was not the only person clamped..4 other people had been clamped also..would have been nice if the staff had made me aware of this when I checked in.. I asked the staff member at the desk was it not hotel parking..He told me "oh it happens all the time and the hotel parking is under ground"😒 so other than that Its great place to stay
M. B.
Location was excellent, rooms were modern and comfortable, the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
J. p. F.
Clean, fairly priced and a great hotel if out and too far home or unsafe..rooms cost roughly the same as taxis depending where going obv.staff are friendly and courteous and will always be there to help with any general questions about tours operating in our Dublin.. 😜..so great for groups visiting for there first visit..food is also available with a charming dining area..good stop off point in our Dublin.. ✌🏽
C. O.
It was a nice hotel, the bathroom in my hotel room had long black hair strands on the floor. Decent spread at breakfast
D. M.
The location of the Maldron Smithfield is just a short walk from everything but is not located in a heavily congested area. The rooms are spacious and clean. Every staff member was helpful.
J. O.
Very happy with our stay here.We had a suite which was a lovely spacious room with great view.Very central location too.Would stay again.
L. S.

So handy for getting around dublin. Staff lovely. Room impeccably clean. Breakfast lovely. Carpark handy. Ask for a front facing room onto the square
A. F.
Everything good at this well located hotel, only down side is the dark rooms the lighting is insufficient
Rooms were lovely and warm in the winter, checking in and out was speedy
2nd time here and will stay again soon
Location ideal opposite Jameson’s Distillery and tram stop close by
T. S.
nice hotel with good location, but hotel staff should be more responsive with the guests (they had plumbing issues)
L. T.

M. G.
Great location, tidy hotel with attentive staff. One thing to note, you CAN pay for the car park at the hotel with a credit or debit card so ignore the sign in reception saying it's cash only
G. M.
Smithfield Square 2 minutes from the trolly allows you the entire city to enjoy. Maldron Smithfield Hotel is the perfect hotel on a budget, you have a fresh market within the hotel, a cinema and restaurants all within a minute of the hotel. The staff super friendly and knowledgeable.
D. L.
A lovely comfortable and clean room.
D. C.
Last-minute booking, so not expecting much, but the hotel was very handy for the LUAS, the room was bigger than expected and was spotless and the breakfast was great.
j. o.
A clean and tidy hotel located near most of the popular Dublin attractions like Dublin zoo, Guinness brewery, Dublin town centre and many more.

m. m.

M. A.
We loved the size of the room, the views, location and service. All excellent.
C. B.
The hotel is OK, little bit over priced for area, we only stayed one night and there was no hot water in room, this was sorted later in the evening so I cannot fault staff, location is great, although druggies and drunks aplenty on the park outside and loitering around the shop next door, great access to luas route for getting around,
M. A.
