Fantastic place to stay! Warm relaxed reception with no fuss. Beautiful house with relaxed environment and lovely music at breakfast, which is of a very high standard. Great choice of food. What a delightful, homely, clean and comfortable place to stay! It's a grand old house, full of charm and character. Wonderful hosts and staff. And yes, they serve a great breakfast. Thank you for your kind hospitality Tim, and for assisting when I was not feeling well.

Stayed for one night August 2019. We found Glengat to be a comfortable place with a nice mix of old-fashioned character and modern decor. Our room was bright, fresh and clean. Breakfast was very well cooked, hot and satisfying. We were close to the places we wanted to visit and found we could walk to the Marshes Centre.

Glen Gat house is an easy walk to the train station, shopping, grocery stores and several restaurants and bars. The rooms are quite small, and the stairs getting up to the rooms are narrow, but things were clean. The breakfast I saw that other reviewers raved about, but I thought was mediocre. They do offer yogurts, cereals and a full Irish breakfast. I wasn't impressed with the eggs which tasted like they were cooked in loads of oil or that spoonfuls of oil were put on the eggs before serving them (I was pretty grossed out, actually). The kitchen staff are super nice.

After change in plans we were searching for a place to stay that evening. We were lucky enough for Tim to accommodate us, and were pleasantly surprised with our room. The bed was comfy, had a good wifi connection and an updated bathroom. The next morning breakfast was delicious and the staff were all friendly. And to top it off we had declined the key to the front door because we weren't going to be out past midnight. But on our way back on the train from Belfast it broke down. Luckily Tim answered the phone and left a key for us. Was happy with the experience all round.

Wonderful experience with friendly people. Spotless and amazing breakfast. We try to return each year and when Glen Gat is booked out we have had to stay in other BnB. Absolutely not a patch on GG. Nothing is too much trouble for this family run BnB. It's more like a boutique hotel now with the quirkiness of the Irish that is loved the world over. Enjoy!

First class b&b a very short walk away from the shops and pubs of Dundalk. Free parking. Lovely bedrooms. Lots of places to sit and relax. Class breakfast. We are booking to stay again in December.
